According to a report, there are more than 300 million e-bikes in China. The number is still growing. Why are they so popular? First, e-bikes are cheaper than cars. Second, they do not produce exhaust fumes (废气), so they are better for the environment. Third, they are fast and convenient in busy city traffic.
However, e-bikes also bring some problems. Some riders do not follow traffic rules. They ride too fast, go through red lights, or ride on the wrong side of the road. This causes many accidents every year. To solve this problem, many cities have made new rules. For example, riders must wear helmets (头盔) and e-bikes must have license plates (牌照).

Have you ever stayed up all night studying for an exam, only to find that you forgot everything the next day? Scientists have discovered that sleep plays a much more important role in learning than we used to think.
When we sleep, our brains do not just rest. They are actually very busy. During deep sleep, our brains organize and store the information we learned during the day. Think of your brain as a library. During the day, new books (new information) keep coming in. At night, while you sleep, the librarian (your brain) sorts these books, puts them on the right shelves, and throws away the useless ones.
A study at a university tested this idea. They asked two groups of students to learn the same list of words. One group studied in the morning and was tested after 12 hours of being awake. The other group studied in the evening, slept, and was tested the next morning. The result? The group that slept remembered much more.
So what does this mean for students? First, getting enough sleep before an exam is just as important as studying. Second, studying before bed can help you remember better, because your brain will organize the information while you sleep. “Sleep is not a waste of time,” says Dr. Li, a sleep researcher. “It is an important part of learning.”
9.What do scientists discover about sleep and learning?
A.Sleep is a waste of study time.
B.Sleep helps organize what we learn.
C.Staying up late helps memory.
D.Sleep has nothing to do with learning.
10.What does the writer compare the brain to?
A.A computer. B.A library. C.A classroom. D.A notebook.
11.Which group remembered more words in the study?
A.The group that stayed awake for 12 hours.
B.The group that studied in the morning.
C.The group that studied in the evening and slept.
D.Both groups remembered the same number.
12.What is the best title for this passage?
A.How to Stay up Late
B.The History of Sleep Studies
C.Why Sleep Helps You Learn Better
D.Different Sleep Patterns

Can you imagine growing vegetables on a rooftop in the middle of a big city? That is exactly what urban farming (城市农业) is about. More and more people in cities are turning empty spaces into gardens.
Urban farming has many advantages. First, it provides fresh, healthy food. Vegetables from a rooftop garden are often fresher than those from the supermarket because they do not need to travel long distances. Second, it reduces food waste. People only grow what they need. Third, green spaces in cities help cool down the temperature and improve air quality.
But urban farming is not without challenges. Space is often a problem. Not everyone has a balcony (阳台) or a rooftop. Also, growing plants takes time and knowledge. Some plants need special care and may not grow well in city environments with less sunlight or poor soil.
Despite these challenges, urban farming is growing in popularity. In cities like Shanghai and Beijing, community gardens and rooftop farms are becoming common. Schools are also joining in, using small gardens to teach students about where food comes from.
“Urban farming connects us with nature and teaches us to value our food,” says Ms. Wang, who runs a rooftop farm in Shanghai. “It is not just about growing vegetables. It is about building a better city.”
13.What does the underlined word “advantages” in Paragraph 2 probably mean?
A.Problems. B.Benefits. C.Differences. D.Changes.
14.How does urban farming help the environment?
A.It uses less water.
B.It reduces air and noise pollution.
C.Green spaces cool down the city and improve air.
D.It produces more oxygen for the city.
15.What challenge does urban farming face?
A.It costs too much money.
B.Not enough people like fresh vegetables.
C.Space and gardening knowledge are limited.
D.The government does not allow it.
16.What is Ms. Wang’s opinion about urban farming?
A.It is only for rich people.
B.It is just about growing food.
C.It helps build a better city.
D.It is too difficult for most people.

Virtual Museum Tours: Explore the World from Home
Have you ever wanted to visit a museum but could not because it was too far away? Thanks to technology, you can now visit many world-famous museums from your own home! Virtual museum tours (虚拟博物馆参观) are becoming more and more popular.
A virtual tour allows you to walk through a museum using your computer or phone. You can see famous paintings, ancient artifacts (文物), and historical exhibits (展览) without leaving your room. The best part is that it is completely free!
Many famous museums now offer virtual tours. For example, the Louvre Museum in Paris, the British Museum in London, and the Palace Museum in Beijing all have online tours. You can zoom in (放大) to see the tiny details of a painting or read the story behind each exhibit.
Virtual tours are not only convenient but also educational. Teachers use them in class to show students things they cannot bring to school. Students can explore history, art, and science in a fun and interactive way. Some museums even have special online programs with guides who answer questions live.
However, virtual tours cannot fully replace the experience of visiting a real museum. Nothing can compare to standing in front of a real painting and feeling its size and beauty. But for those who cannot travel, virtual tours are a wonderful alternative.
