Dear Mike,
I’m sorry to hear that you are worried about the natural disasters in the news. Natural disasters are terrible, but we don’t need to be too scared. We can make enough preparations to protect ourselves.
Here are some useful suggestions. First, learn basic first-aid skills to deal with sudden dangers. This is necessary. Second, prepare an emergency bag with the necessary daily things. Third, pay attention to official warning messages in advance, which can help us avoid being destroyed by disasters. These small actions help protect us from being hurt or even destroyed by disasters.
Besides, if humans live in peace with nature, natural disasters will become less frequent. Don’t be too anxious. We can face nature wisely.
Yours,
Li Hua

Situation: A radio host is interviewing economist Dr. Smith in the studio. They are talking about how teenagers can manage money wisely.
Host: Good morning, Dr. Smith. Welcome to our programme “Money Matters”. Today, many teenagers get pocket money from their parents. When you go shopping, do you prefer to pay in cash or by credit card?
Dr. Smith: 27 (对选择疑问句做出回答). Credit cards may lead to overspending, and I think it’s important to manage money wisely.
Host: I see. 28 (写出恰当的一般疑问句) before spending money?
Dr. Smith: Yes, we should make a plan before spending money. We should list what we need and what we want.
Host: 29 (就目的提问) tell needs from wants?
Dr. Smith: So that we won’t rush to buy things. By asking ourselves, “Do I really need this, or do I just want it?”, we can make better decisions.
Host: And saving money is also important, I think.
Dr. Smith: Exactly. Saving money regularly is a good habit. Even a small amount can add up over time.
Host: So saving money is really helpful, 30 (写出附加问句)?
Dr. Smith: Absolutely. It teaches us to be responsible and prepares us for the future.
Host: At the end of today’s interview, please give one final piece of advice to our young listeners. 31 (就方式方法提问) save money?
Dr. Smith: The answer is simple: open a savings account at a bank.

A. (每题2分,共10分)
Match each problem with the correct advice. (将每个问题与对应的建议进行匹配。)
Problems
Advice
32 My dad lost his job and he is quite anxious. My mum is a housewife, so she has no idea how to help.
33 My mom is always on her phone. I want her to spend more time with me.
34 My parents are giving me the choice to teach my sister piano. Any tips?
35 My mom tells me to get rid of some of my things, but they all seem special.
36 My parents argue a lot. I wish I could make them stop. It’s really upsetting.
A.Ask yourself whether you really value and use them. To help you decide, try an experiment. Notice what you use over a month’s time. At the end of the month, you might consider giving away what you didn’t use. Knowing that your things will bring happiness to someone else may help you let them go.
B.Your mom may not realize how you feel. Ask her if there’s a time when you two can sit down to talk about something that’s on your mind. Also, you can start a daily “team” routine, like washing dishes together. Chores can be a great time to talk, sing, or tell jokes.
C. You’re not alone. Adults disagree at times, just as kids do. They must solve their own disagreement. If you feel unhappy, focus on things that’ll help you feel calm. Do activities you enjoy, or write or draw to express how you feel. At a time when things are calm, tell your parents how you feel.
D.Tell your parents how you’re feeling. Although they may not have all the answers right now. Give one another a little more space. During times of change, it’s natural for people to feel sad or upset more often than usual. Remember to be kind and supportive as your family decides how to move forward.
E. What an exciting chance! Talk to your parents and sister about what they expect. Together, make a clear plan for the lessons. This will help you set up for success. You could also consider using a piano book, which may help you plan each lesson. Finally, remember to be patient with your sister.
F. It’s common to see parents push their children on their studies because they always care about the results. You had better have a talk with your parent about your worries and stress and ask for their understanding and support. I believe things will be better if you communicate well.
B.根据短文内容选择最恰当的答案。 (每题2分,共12分)
Did you hear of “conscious (清醒的) spending?” According to Ramit Sethi, conscious spending is all about spending as much as possible on the things you love and cutting costs as much as possible on the things you don’t need. It’s about knowing what you really want and then spending your money on the things you love.
The term “conscious spending” suggests that people experience unconscious spending nowadays. It’s almost like unconscious eating. We’re just without a plan, and we’re not really paying much attention, especially when using credit cards.
The most important way to deal with unconscious spending is asking yourself some questions. Where did my money go? What do I love spending money on and why? How much do I need for the things I must have, such as food and bills? How much do I want to save and why? How much do I want to set aside for unimportant buys, such as coffee with a friend or a movie ticket?
Answering these questions can help you feel excited and clear about your money, know what you care less about, and live according to what’s important to you. “Then, it’s a lot easier to cut down your spending in areas that you don’t need so much,” Klontz said.
Your answers to these questions agree with what Sethi calls your “rich life”—the life of your own, free from what anyone else thinks you should do. When you think about what you really want, you will no longer have to feel anxious (焦虑的) or doubtful about how you spend your money.
37.What is conscious spending?
A.It means cutting the cost of the things you like.
B.It means buying a lot of things you really like.
C.It means spending money as much as possible.
D.It means spending money on the things properly.
38.Why does the writer mention “unconscious eating” in Paragraph 2?
A.To explain how people spend money without thinking.
B.To show that eating without a plan is healthy.
C.To compare two different ways of saving money.
D.To suggest that people should eat more consciously.
39.The writer develops his idea in Paragraph 3 by ________.
A.listing numbers B.raising questions C.explaining differences D.giving examples
40.What can we infer from the last two paragraphs?
A.People will feel excited after buying what they really want.
B.People are easily influenced (被影响) by others.
C.Spending money can make people feel anxious and doubtful.
D.Conscious spending can make people know how to spend their money.
41.Where can we probably read the text?
A.In a storybook. B.In a travel guide. C.In a life magazine. D.In a sports newspaper.

Fashion is like a language that everyone can understand. It is not just about clothes; it is about culture, art, and ideas. Today, international fashion is becoming more and more global. This means styles from one country 42 quickly become popular in another.
For example, a type of hat from Korea might be seen on the streets of London, or a bag from France might be loved by teenagers in New York. The Internet and social media help these styles 43 around the world fast. Young people especially enjoy 44 different fashion trends and creating their own unique look.
However, some people are also thinking about the 45 of “fast fashion”. Fast fashion means producing cheap clothes quickly to follow new trends. But this can be bad for the environment. 46 , many designers and companies are now trying to make clothes in a more sustainable way. They use recycled materials and make sure the workers are treated fairly.
So, when we choose what to wear, we are not just making a fashion statement. We are also making a choice about the kind of world we want to live in. It’s important to remember that real style isn’t just about looking good—it’s about feeling good and 47 good, too.

The Future of Driving
Every morning, millions of people around the world get into their cars and drive to work. But what if the car could drive itself? That future may not be far away.
Self-driving cars, also known as autonomous vehicles (AVs), use sensors, cameras, and artificial intelligence to navigate roads with little or no human input. Companies like Waymo and Tesla have already tested thousands of self-driving cars on public roads.
The benefits of self-driving cars could be huge. First, they promise to make roads much safer. According to studies, over 90% of car accidents are caused by human errors such as distracted driving or speeding. Self-driving cars don’t get tired, drunk, or distracted. They follow traffic rules strictly. Second, they could help people who cannot drive themselves——such as the elderly or people with disabilities——gain more independence. “For millions of people with disabilities, self-driving cars promise newfound freedom,” said one expert.
However, there are still many challenges. The technology is very expensive, and not everyone can afford it. Many people also worry about safety. Can we really trust a computer to make life-or-death decisions on the road? Moreover, if self-driving cars become common, millions of professional drivers——such as taxi drivers and truck drivers——might lose their jobs.
Some experts believe that fully self-driving cars will be on our roads within the next ten years. Others say it will take much longer. One thing is certain: self-driving cars will change the way we travel, work, and live. The question is not if they will arrive, but when.
48.What do self-driving cars use to navigate roads?
49.According to studies, what causes most car accidents?
50.Why could self-driving cars be especially helpful to elderly or disabled people?
51.What is the possible disadvantage of self-driving cars mentioned in the passage? (List ONLY ONE)
52.Is the author certain that self-driving cars will become common in the future?
53.Task 2: Do you think self-driving cars are a good invention? Please write down your own understanding. (About 30 words)

39.The writer develops his idea in Paragraph 3 by ________.
A.listing numbers B.raising questions C.explaining differences D.giving examples

41.Where can we probably read the text?

37.根据第一段“According to Ramit Sethi, conscious spending is all about spending as much as possible on the things you love and cutting costs as much as possible on the things you don't need. It's about knowing what you really want and then spending your money on the things you love.”
39.第三段开头说“The most important way to deal with unconscious spending is asking yourself some questions.” 然后列举了一系列问题,所以作者在第三段是通过提出问题来展开观点的。
40.根据最后一段“When you think about what you really want, you will no longer have to feel anxious or doubtful about how you spend your money.”可知,清醒消费可以让人知道如何花钱。
41.文章主要讨论的是清醒消费这一生活中的理财话题,所以最有可能在生活杂志上读到。

七、任务型阅读(共12分)

【答案】例文:
Dear Mike,
I’m sorry to hear that you are worried about the natural disasters in the news.

Yours,
Li Hua
