根据后文“In this way, people would like to bring them home”的目的,领结的作用是让流浪动物看起来更讨喜,更容易被领养,lovely意为“可爱的”符合语义。

care for“照料”,look after“照顾”,care about“关心”都不符合“帮动物找家”的语义。
后文明确提到“It’s not just a bow tie you can buy at a store”,说明这个领结和普通商店售卖的不一样,是特别的,special“特别的”符合语境。

根据后文“Everyone can help save homeless animals by buying one bow tie”的公益理念,message意为“寓意、信息”,符合语境。

People often talked about his long hair behind his back. Sometimes they laughed at him. But he never cared about that. The 14-year-old boy had spent three years growing his hair, because he decided to do something for a very good programme by having his head shaved (剃发).
When he last had a haircut, in 2023, Sam raised 3,200 pounds for a local food bank (where people in need can get food and help). He said, “I always had the idea of doing it again.”

The wind was strong. Sam Edmunds’ hat blew off. His long hair waved in the air. He heard a voice behind him: “Is that a boy or a girl?” He shook his head. “Just one more month!” he said to himself.
People often talked about his long hair behind his back. Sometimes they laughed at him. But he never cared about that. The 14-year-old boy had spent three years growing his hair, because he decided to do something for a very good programme by having his head shaved (剃发).
