After running away from the pirate ship (海盗船), we sailed (航行) for days. On the fifth day, we found a freshwater river and decided to collect water after dark. But scary animal sounds made us stay on the boat all night. At sunrise, I shot at a big sea animal near our boat to scare others away.
Next morning, the boy caught a bird in the forest. We cooked it — our first warm meal in weeks. Though safe, I stayed alert (警觉的), worrying that pirates might follow.
One morning brought danger: a lion stood on the beach 20 meters away! When it ran towards us, I fired three times. The first shot hit its leg, the second its head, the last killed it. We dried its skin on the boat as our brave symbol.
For six days, we sailed along unknown coasts. Each night brought strange noises — animal calls, water splashes, even a sea animal swimming close. The scared boy wanted to leave, but my gun always protected us.
Though having enough food and water, we felt unsafe. No ships appeared — just empty sea. The lion skin drying under the sun reminded us to stay strong. “What if pirates come?” the boy often asked quietly. I checked my guns daily, hiding my fears.
When night came, we stopped our boat near rocks. By the fire, the boy drew maps in the sand. “Home,” he said, pointing east. His voice was quiet but strong, showing he was trying to be brave. I added bullets to my gun, agreeing. Freedom felt good, but the sea seemed to say, “This was just the start.”
24. Which is the correct order of these events according to the passage?
①We dried the lion’s skin. ②We heard strange noises each night.
③I shot a sea animal at sunrise. ④The boy drew maps in the sand.
⑤We cooked the bird.
A. ③→⑤→①→②→④ B. ③→⑤→②→④→①
C. ⑤→②→③→①→④ D. ⑤→①→③→②→④
25. Why did they still feel unsafe even with enough food and water?
A. Because they had no friends to talk to. B. Because they didn’t have tools like guns.
C. Because their boat was too old to use. D. Because dangers were always nearby.
26. How did the boy change during the journey?
A. From scared to trying to be brave. B. From happy to very sad.
C. From strong to very weak. D. He didn’t change at all.
27. What probably had happened before they left the pirate ship?
A. They had been saved by the pirates. B. They had been caught by pirates.
C. They had found the empty pirate ship. D. They had volunteered to serve the pirates.

In Sichuan, China, people drink tea in a special way. They use a traditional cup called Gaiwan. It is made up of a lid, a bowl, and a saucer, which together make the tea taste better. This method, known as “Gaiwan tea”, is very important in Chinese tea culture.
The story of Gaiwan tea began in the Tang Dynasty over 1,000 years ago. People first used simple bowls for tea, but these were too hot to hold. To solve this, a clever woman came up with an idea. She added a wooden saucer to hold the bowls, as wood does not get hot easily. This small change created the earliest form of Gaiwan tea, which encouraged people to try it.
Later in the Ming Dynasty about 600 years ago, tea drinking changed completely. People stopped using powdered tea and began using whole tea leaves. The full Gaiwan set was created during this period. The lid could control how strong the tea was by how much it was opened. The clear bowl let people watch the tea leaves slowly open in the hot water, which was beautiful to see. The saucer still protected hands from heat. The full Gaiwan set made Gaiwan tea taste better, look more beautiful, and easier to drink, which further made more people enjoy Gaiwan tea.
By the Qing Dynasty 300 years ago, with the number of tea houses growing quickly at that time, Gaiwan tea became increasingly popular in China. It could be seen everywhere and was loved by people from all walks of life. Tea houses loved it because it was so convenient. Each customer could have their own personal cup. The same tea leaves could be used 3-4 times by adding more hot water. In Sichuan’s tea houses, people would sit for hours drinking tea and talking with friends. In Beijing, even the emperor enjoyed Gaiwan tea in his palace.
Today in modern China, Gaiwan tea never goes out of style. In Chengdu’s tea houses, you can see older men using Gaiwan sets just like their grandfathers did. Young people now take pictures of their tea and share them on apps like WeChat. Tea shops sell beautiful Gaiwan sets to tourists. Tea teachers still show students the proper way to use the three parts together. From morning to night, the sound of lids touching bowls can be heard in tea houses across Sichuan.
28. Why did the woman create a wooden saucer?
A. To keep hands from getting burned. B. To make the tea taste better.
C. To make the bowl look nicer. D. To let more people try Gaiwan tea.
29. How did the full Gaiwan set influence Chinese tea culture in the Ming Dynasty?
A. It made boiling tea leaves easier and faster. B. It helped cool down hot water more quickly.
C. It made tea more enjoyable to watch and drink. D. It required special kinds of tea leaves to use.
30. Which may best describe the relationship between Gaiwan tea’s popularity and the following symbols?
a wooden saucer the full Gaiwan set tea houses
A. B.
C. D.
31. What’s the best title of the passage?
A. Sichuan: Home of Gaiwan Tea B. Gaiwan Tea: From Past to Present
C. Tea-making: An Important Life Skill D. The Qing Dynasty: Tea Got Popular

①Soft toys are becoming popular with teenagers and adults worldwide.
②Some special toy stores in London surprised everyone by looking like seafood restaurants. Salespeople served soft toys in the shape of fried fish, lemons and peas instead of real food. Jellycat, a British toy brand, even lets customers play with these toy food. Interestingly, a small fish toy costs $25, but customers still loved buying them.
③Soft toys are now loved by people of all ages. On TikTok, their videos have been watched over 8 billion times. In China, a doll brand called Labubu sells out quickly. When new toys arrive, stores often become very crowded.
④Market growth reflects popularity. The soft toy business is growing fast in different countries. In Britain, they became the second most popular toy type last year. Sales have risen 58% since 2021, and experts predict 8% yearly growth until 2030.
⑤In 2023, teenagers and adults became the biggest toy-buying group. About 25% of all soft toys were bought by them—more than those bought for 4-6-year-old children. But why did this happen?
⑥One reason is that soft toys help both adults and teenagers feel less stressed and more relaxed, making them feel comfortable and happy. That’s why more and more people enjoy them now. As one online seller says they “bring joy to busy lives”. Also, experts find that when adults play with toys, they can forget their worries and feel like children again.
⑦Another key reason is that “kidults” — a growing group of young adults who love childhood hobbies—now have more money to spend on themselves. With many of them choosing to have children later, they have extra income for fun interests like collecting toys. While a normal soft toy costs $10−$250, special ones can reach $1,500! Surprisingly, higher prices often make these kidults want the toys even more, seeing them as both relaxing friends and special items to keep.
⑧Now, soft toys remain popular all over the world. When a toy lover on TikTok made a joke about stopping her collection, fans quickly replied, “You’re never too old to love them!” They bring comfort and joy to people’s busy lives, making them a special kind of “friend” for all ages.
32. How does the writer introduce the special toy stores in Paragraph 2?
A. By listing numbers. B. By comparing stores.
C. By giving an example. D. By raising a question.
33. What does the underlined word “kidults” mean in Paragraph 7?
A. Adults who want to have children later. B. Young adults who enjoy collecting toys.
C. Teenagers who enjoy playing with toys. D. Children who have special interests.
34. What can we infer from the passage?
A. Children hardly ever buy soft toys these days.
B. A growing number of adults may buy soft toys.
C. Soft toys are becoming less popular as time passes.
D. Soft toys bring comfort and happiness to people.
35. Which of the following shows the structure of this passage?
A. B.
C. D.

Not all rocket engineers have the chance to go to space, but Wang Haoze did it on Oct 30th, 2024. Who is Wang Haoze? How did she get the “ticket for Shenzhou-19”?
Wang’s path to the space
Born in 1990 in Luanping, Hebei, Wang Haoze entered Southeast University in 2008 to study Energy and Power Engineering. She was always one of the top students. After getting her master’s degree in 2015, she joined the Beijing Aerospace Propulsion Institute to work on rocket engine research.
In 2018, China started to choose its third group of astronauts, and Wang Haoze decided to join. However, her journey from designing rocket engines to flying in space was not easy. During the selection process, she faced challenges in the centrifuge (离心机) — A machine that creates a feeling of six times Earth’s gravity (引力), designed to check how the body deals with the strong forces astronauts experience during spaceflight. Inside the machine, there was a bell for people to ring if they felt too sick to continue. But Wang never used it, no matter how hard it was. She finally became the only woman chosen in this group in 2020.
A conversation between Wang Haoze and an interviewer.
Interviewer: Did everything go well when you worked in the Beijing Aerospace Propulsion Institute?
Wang: Actually, I was faced with new challenges. But a strong sense of satisfaction always encouraged me to take on new challenges over and over again. Every time I solved the problems that others couldn’t, I felt on the top of the world and I was so proud of myself.
Interviewer: So is it a reason for you to accept the new challenge of being an astronaut?
Wang: Partly. I was always dreaming of being an astronaut.
Interviewer: How did you feel when you experienced the centrifuge? What was your “magic key” to making it?
Wang: ________ I finally met the training requirements.

The sun provides heat and light, making life on Earth possible. However, too much exposure (暴露) to ultraviolet (UV) rays can be harmful. You can’t see them but too much UV exposure can cause serious health problems. One main risk is skin cancer, which may develop after long-term sun exposure. Besides, UV rays can lead to sunburned skin, causing redness, pain, and peeling. Over time, too much exposure may result in skin aging too early. The eyes are also at great risk. UV rays can increase the chance of cataracts (白内障) and other eye problems, which can lead to poor eyesight.
Thankfully, information about UV is easy to find. Websites, newspapers, and TV weather reports provide daily UV levels. The higher the temperature is, the higher the UV levels and the greater the risk of harm will be. Experts advise that protection is necessary all year, but special care should be taken during hot months.
To reduce the harm caused by UV rays, doctors suggest a few ways to stay safe. Using sunscreen (防晒霜) often is necessary, especially when swimming. More attention should be given to areas like the ears and nose. Remember to put sunscreen on your skin 15-30 minutes before going out, reuse it every 2 hours and cover all exposed areas, especially face, ears, neck and hands. Wearing sun protective clothing, hats and sunglasses can also help stay away from UV rays. Another important thing is the UV rays are the strongest between 10 AM and 4 PM. During these hours, it’s best to stay indoors if possible. You can just stay indoors or plan outdoor activities in the early morning or late afternoon. If going out during that time is necessary, you’d better walk under the trees or umbrellas.
By following these simple but helpful prevention steps, you can enjoy the sun safely while protecting your health.
Dear Henry,
How’s everything in Wuhan? I recently read an article. The writer mainly tells us that ____50____ and how we protect ourselves. It really got me thinking. I sat in the classroom with my head down ____13____. I forgot to prepare anything! At that time, my teacher came to me and gave me half a glass of water.

Every coin you give will ____15____ children in need to drink clean water.” Then she helped prepare ten more glasses, each half-filled with water.
Our “old things” were ready on the playground. People started to come over. A boy laughed, “Look! They’re selling water, but each glass is half-empty!” His teacher smiled at him and said, “Oh, my dear student, I see all the glasses are half-full.” Then she dropped some ____16____ into our box.
By noon, our box was full of much love rather than just money. Many children could drink clean water ____18____ your help.” My heart jumped with joy.

his“他的”、her“她的”、our“我们的”,均与主语不一致。

由“I forgot to prepare anything!”

23. What’s the passage mainly about?
A. War and Peace. B. Safe and Danger. C. Health and Disease. D. Love and Hate.
D 22. C 23. A
末尾注明“Adapted from the song ‘Pray’ by Justin Bieber”,说明它也是一首歌词。
文中作者看到世界上不对的事情 (儿童哭泣、士兵死去、人们失去家园),随后问道“Can you tell me how I can make a change?” C“Because he wants to make the world better.”
B
A 25. D 26. A 27. B
第一段“At sunrise, I shot at a big sea animal near our boat to scare others away.”对应事件③I shot a sea animal at sunrise;第二段“The boy caught a bird in the forest. We cooked it — our first warm meal in weeks.”对应事件⑤We cooked the bird;第三段“We dried its skin on the boat as our brave symbol.”对应事件①We dried the lion’s skin;第四段“Each night brought strange noises”对应事件②We heard strange noises each night;最后一段“By the fire, the boy drew maps in the sand.”对应事件④The boy drew maps in the sand。
第五段“No ships appeared — just empty sea. The lion skin drying under the sun reminded us to stay strong. ‘What if pirates come?’”
第四段“The scared boy wanted to leave, but my gun always protected us.”和最后一段“His voice was quiet but strong, showing he was trying to be brave.”
第一段“After running away from the pirate ship”可推出他们之前被海盗俘虏,后来才逃离海盗船。
C
A 29. C 30. D 31. B
根据第二段“She added a wooden saucer to hold the bowls, as wood does not get hot easily.”
文中第三段提到“The lid could control how strong the tea was by how much it was opened. The clear bowl let people watch the tea leaves slowly open in the hot water, which was beautiful to see. The saucer still protected hands from heat”,说明完整的盖碗套装让人们观看茶叶在热水中慢慢展开很美观,饮用也更享受。
D

A. Adults who want to have children later. B. Young adults who enjoy collecting toys.

A. Children hardly ever buy soft toys these days.
B. A growing number of adults may buy soft toys.

41. Was Wang always a top student during her time at university?
___________________________________________________
42. When was Wang chosen as the only woman in the third group of astronauts?
___________________________________________________
43. Why did Wang accept the new challenge of being an astronaut?
___________________________________________________
44. What will Wang probably say? Please fill in the blank according to the passage. (about 30 words)
___________________________________________________
41. Yes, she was.
42. In 2020.
43. Because she was always dreaming of being an astronaut.
44. It was very hard and I felt sick, but I never rang the bell. I kept telling myself to hold on. Bit by bit, I finally met the training requirements.

根据小标题“Wang’s path to the space”中第二段“She finally became the only woman chosen in this group in 2020.”
根据采访对话,采访者问“So is it a reason for you to accept the new challenge of being an astronaut?”及回答“Partly. I was always dreaming of being an astronaut.”
后文说“I finally met the training requirements.” It was very hard and I felt sick, but I never rang the bell. I kept telling myself to hold on. Bit by bit, I finally met the training requirements.

45. Little Joe put away his toys after playing with them.(改为否定句)
Little Joe ________ ________ away his toys after playing with them.
【答案】 ①. didn’t ②. put

46. I am going to study computer science in college.
________ ________ you going to study in college?
What ②. are
原句是一般将来时,主语I变为you 时,be动词要从am变为are。
47. I want you to be proud of what you have achieved.(改为同义句)
I want you to ________ ________ in what you have achieved.
【答案】 ①. take ②. pride
原句中“be proud of”意为“为……感到骄傲”,其同义短语为“take pride in”,意为“为……感到自豪”。固定搭配want sb. to do sth.,to后需接动词原形。
You ________ know how amazing you are ________ you try it yourself.
49. you, where, is, me, library, the, could, tell (?)(连词成句)
