He spent decades painting the beauty of this unique town, along with scenes from his life. W: May I ask a question?I heard that the artist died in 1922 without ever selling a single painting. Is that true? M: Yes, indeed. The artist preferred to be alone. He lived by himself, working in secret, and painted almost all his life. His friends and family only discovered his talent after he died at the age of 92. When they cleared his house, they found more than 300 paintings. And no one had ever seen these paintings. W: How surprised and delighted he would be to know that his artworks are now being shown like this! M: Yes.
