The person with an umbrella,描述带伞者的状态,因此此处选umbrella(伞),其他选项keyboard(键盘)、mouse(鼠标)、map(地图)都不符合后文语境。

一个湿透一个受伤,唯独什么都没带的人安然无恙,这个结果出乎前两个人的意料,因此他们感到surprised(惊讶的),其他选项sad(伤心)、excited(兴奋)、pleased(开心)不符合逻辑。
hide from sth.

carelessly(粗心地)、quickly(快地)、fast(快地)不符合语义逻辑。
a sense of是固定搭配,表示“…… 其他选项direction(方向)、way(方式)、magic(魔力)都不符合语义。

Cameron Patterson, a British student, spent his childhood in China. He has seen many great changes in the country over the past 15 years, especially trains.
At the age of 8, Patterson moved from Wales to join his father in Shanxi. In the following years, he and his parents lived in a few cities. They also travelled a lot during holidays. However, traveling itself wasn’t always relaxing. When his family moved from Jiangsu to Guangdong, they took the old green train and spent one and a half days on the trip.
Now with high-speed trains, life become much easier. Long and boring trips in the past have become shorter. Also, the modern trains are more comfortable. “A coin (硬币) wouldn’t move at all on the table of a fast-moving train,” he said excitedly.
Patterson was glad to see these changes in China, but he also wondered how they happened. When he read a poem about China’s role model (榜样) Jiao Yulu in 2015, he got the answer. Jiao was seriously ill at that time, but still kept working to help people till the end of his life. Jiao devoted (献身) himself to improving people’s life. “He was really great. I learn a lot from him,” said Patterson.
Patterson now works as a Confucius Institute volunteer at Lancaster University. “I'm proud to act as a bridge between the UK and China and help the two peoples know about each other's cultures better.”
44. Why was traveling in the past NOT relaxing for Cameron?
A. Because he had no time to travel. B. Because the trip took too long.
C. Because he couldn’t join his father. D. Because he disliked green trains.
45. What does Cameron mean by saying “A coin wouldn’t move at all”?
A. The train runs very smoothly. B. The coin is heavy and large.
C. The table is very clean. D. The train is not moving fast.
46. What is the best title for the passage?
A. A British Boy’s Love for Trains B. How China’s High-speed Trains Develop
C. A British Boy’s Life and Thoughts on China D. Story of China’s Role Model Jiao Yulu

根据第二段最后一句“When his family moved from Jiangsu to Guangdong, they took the old green train and spent one and a half days on the trip.”
根据第三段中Cameron对高铁的描述“Long and boring trips in the past have become shorter. Also, the modern trains are more comfortable.”以及他所说“A coin wouldn’t move at all on the table of a fast moving train.”

Oliver decided to leave the workhouse for London. “No one will find me in London,” he thought. On the first day, he walked and walked for twenty miles, then he fell asleep, tired and hungry. He walked for another seven days, begging for food and water. Then in the afternoon, he walked slowly and sadly into a small town near London and sat down to rest. His feet were bleeding(流血) and he was covered in dirt. A boy saw him and came to talk to him.
“Hello, where have you been?” asked the boy.
The boy was about the same age as Oliver, but he was a ________ boy. He had a large hat and he wore a man's coat, which came nearly to his feet. He was just a dirty little boy but he acted and talked like an adult.
Oliver explained he had walked for a few days and was very hungry.
The boy bought Oliver some food. Then, as Oliver ate hungrily, they talked.
Oliver told the boy that he was going to London and had no place to stay.
“I know an old gentleman who lives in London,” said the boy. “He’ ll give you a place to stay for nothing.”
“Really?” said Oliver with his eyes shining brightly.
Oliver was thankful for the boy's offer. The boy, Jack Dawkins, and Oliver soon became new friends, but Jack's friends called him the Dodger.
Late that night they reached London. Then Dodger led Oliver to a narrow smelly street, and into a house. They climbed the stairs and went into a room at the top.
Oliver looked around. They were in a large room. The walls and ceiling were black with age and dirt. A man was cooking some food. The man had an ugly face and dirty red hair. There were beds on the floor. Four or five boys, about the same age as the Dodger, sat around a table.
“Fagin,” said the Dodger to the man, “this is my new friend Oliver Twist.” Fagin smiled, then he shook Oliver’s hand and said, “We are very glad to meet you, Oliver.”
After that, they all had supper. Oliver ate a lot and drank a nightcap that Fagin prepared specially for him. Then he fell into a deep sleep with a full stomach and satisfaction (满足).
