参考范文:
Dear Editor,
I used to be addicted to digital devices, which had a negative impact on my life and study. Therefore, I made up my mind to get rid of the bad habit.
First of all, I deleted some apps that consume amounts of my time. Besides, whenever I wanted to play on the mobile phone, I went jogging instead, which not only enhanced my quality of life but also improved my health.
The results have been fantastic. I get more refreshed and energetic both physically and mentally. Better yet, I feel that I can change myself for the better.
Yours,
Li Hua
第二节 读后续写(满分25分)
Then from outside the classroom came a familiar voice singing the birthday song. It was Mom, holding a box of cupcakes and a small wrapped present in her hands. The whole class joined in the singing, and John stood there frozen, his eyes filled with tears. He had never expected such a warm celebration. As we shared the sweet cupcakes, his big, grateful smile lit up the whole classroom. He kept saying “thank you” in a trembling voice, clearly moved by the unexpected kindness.
The next day, I noticed a change in the other kids. No one whispered about him or kept their distance anymore. Some invited him to play games during breaks; others shared their stationery with him. John soon became one of the most welcome classmates. This experience taught me that a little love and acceptance can warm a lonely heart and bring great changes to a group. True kindness is always the most beautiful language.
高二英语听力原文
Text 1
M: Helen, I’ve only lived in town for a few weeks. I was just wondering if there were any community projects I could join in. I feel bored after work. (1)
W: Of course. I regularly volunteer at our local community center. It’s rewarding to give back to my community.
Text 2
M: How was your year studying abroad in Italy?
W: Great. The old buildings and the weather didn’t disappoint. And I never expected that their coffee was that amazing. I didn’t think I could get used to the coffee here any more. (2)
Text 3
M: Why are there so many advert s at the cinema before we even see the film?
W: I’m not sure. This might be a way for cinemas to make money.
M: I sat through 30 minutes of advert s to watch a 90-minute movie yesterday. That’s crazy (3)
Text 4
M: Jane, have you ever used this website before? Those prices seem too good to be true for those fashion items.
W: No, I’ve never heard of it. But you’d better use our usual website. I don’t think this one is reliable. (4)
Text 5
M: I’ve been using a new AI program to create a picture. What do you think?
W: It’s colorful, but it doesn’t really have much to say. I think artwork should be something you create yourself, so it’s meaningful to you.
M: I just thought it was pretty. (5)
Text 6
M: This old house is perfect for this documentary. (6) The architecture is amazing and there is so much space — just think how clever the designers were all those centuries ago. Now, let’s see, have you brought all the equipment in?
W: I think so. We’ve got all the cameras in this bag, the sound equipment in that bag… Ah, the lighting is still in the car.
M: Okay, let me fix the cameras on their stands first, (7) and then you can grab the lighting. While you’re doing that, I’ll find out where the director wants everything to be.
W: Sure, no problem.
Text 7 (第8题为推断题)
M: Hey, Laura. Can I just…? Oh! Sorry.
W: …so don’t wait up. Bye! Paul… Hi! Can I help you?
M: Yeah, I’m just checking the numbers for the office party tonight. Sorry, I didn’t realize you were on the phone. (9)
W: It’s fine! I was just sending my son a voice note to remind him I’ll be home late. There’s no point calling him. He never picks up the phone!
M: My daughter’s the same. She refuses to make phone calls! I don’t get it. I used to chat for hours on the phone with my friends.
W: It’s a generation thing. They’re so used to texting or talking online. My son says, “People only ever call for two reasons… either they’re selling something, or they’re delivering bad news!”
Text 8 (第13题为推断题)
W: I don’t know which of these European cities we should visit. They all seem interesting!
M: Yeah, but Paris got really busy and made me a bit anxious. (10) (11)
W: Exactly! That’s how I felt in London too. (11) The first city I’m considering is Bratislava, the capital city of Slovakia. It has beautiful buildings, lots of history, and great restaurants. It’s also really close to Austria, so we could have a day trip there too. I really want to go there. But I’ve found another city in Croatia called Zadar, which I also love! (12)
M: Where’s Croatia?
W: It’s across the sea from Italy and it has warm sunny weather. That’s why I might prefer it to Bratislava. It’s on the coast so we could go swimming too. (12) Plus, the surrounding countryside is beautiful.
M: Sounds like you really can’t make up your mind. Let’s go for the one that is cheaper.
W: They’re about the same price! The flights are the same length and cost, and the food, drinks, and hotels have the same prices.
M: Let’s go to both then — Bratislava and Zadar!
Text 9 (第14题为推断题)
W: Can we go in here before heading home? I need some pet food and bedding.
M: Sure. I come in here sometimes, even though I don’t have pets. I like watching the fish! After years of having guinea pigs (豚鼠), would you say they are easy to take care of? (15)
W: It’s okay. (15) But you can’t just keep one… It makes them really unhappy.
M: I see. Have you ever seen those animals that look like huge guinea pigs?
W: Capybaras (水豚) (16)? Yeah! They’re amazing. And they’re really social too. (16) In the wild, they live in huge groups.
M: I saw some at the zoo a few weeks back. They were sharing their area with some little crocodiles (鳄鱼). Seemed a bit dangerous!
W: Capybaras are too big to be eaten by any but the biggest animals. They’re so calm and friendly, and they live peacefully alongside all types of animals. In the wild, you see them hanging out with birds, monkeys… They often let small animals climb all over them! (16)
M: Really? How cute!
W: Yeah, it’s really cute! Anyway, what I need is in the rabbit section. Would you like to go watch the fish for a while? (17)
M: Sure. (17)
Text 10
Gather round, everyone! Can you all hear me? Wonderful. Well, welcome to Dunrobin Castle! (19) (20) I’m afraid we’re having some typically wet Scottish weather today. (18) The sun is supposed to come out later, but in the meantime, don’t you worry. . . There’s plenty to see indoors. The castle has 189 rooms, making it the largest in the Northern Highlands! There is also a museum, a gift shop, and a delicious tea room. Dunrobin was home to the Sutherland family in the 14th century. The early castle was a simple, square building, with thick stone walls to protect against attackers. . . rather different from the romantic, storybook castle you see today. The current building, with its beautiful French-inspired towers, was completed in 1845. It was designed by the English architect Sir Charles Barry, who was also responsible for London’s Palace of Westminster, better known as the Houses of Parliament. The castle served as a military hospital during World War I and a boys’ boarding school between 1965 and 1972. (19) Today, the castle is open to the public from the beginning of April until the end of October every year. (20)

My mother is not perfect, and our relationship has had its good and bad times, but I have always admired her kindness — she would even give her own shirt to someone in need. When my parents broke up, I was only two. As a stay-at-home mom who’d never worked outside, she had to start working, sometimes two tiring jobs, to support my brother, sister and me. She often put herself last to make sure we had warm clothes, enough food and school supplies we needed, not just the toys we wanted.
Mom always told us: no matter how hard our life was, others had it worse. Even when life was difficult, she shared what we had with others and showed her kindness. I still remember when I was in primary school, my friend’s family had serious money troubles, and I thought she wouldn’t get any Christmas gifts. My mom secretly bought a bag of toys and left it for her at the school office, and she still gave us a great Christmas with nice gifts too.
In middle school, she paid for my best friend’s class trip when her family couldn’t afford it. She also made extra food for sick neighbors, donated dyed Easter eggs to a church she didn’t attend, and left small gifts for a poor woman in our church every week. Most of her kind acts were done without letting others know who did them.
Her kindness has become a precious family legacy. My sister, brother and I all learn from her, helping others quietly and sincerely. Now that we are parents, our own kids are also picking up this kind habit, often sharing their toys with classmates in need.
24. What can be inferred about my mom from paragraph 1?
A. She only helped people she knew well.
B. She cared more about her kids than herself.
C. She became rich because she took two jobs.
D. She stopped being generous after the author grew up.
25. Which of the following is true according to the passage?
A. Mom donated money to build a church.
B. My friend got toys from her own parents.
C. Mom paid for my best friend’s class trip.
D. My kids refused to learn from their grandmother.
26. Why did Mom keep her kindness in secret?
A. She wanted to avoid trouble.
B. She was afraid of being laughed at.
C. She thought the gifts were not good enough.
D. She just wanted to help others from her heart.
27. What does the underlined word “legacy” in Paragraph 4 probably mean?
A. A secret B. A bad habit
C. A difficult task D. Something passed down
C
If you are one of Velvet Sundown’s adoring fans, seeing them perform in a city is going to be impossible.
After releasing two albums, which have earned the group 1.2 million listeners on a major streaming platform, the folk-country music “band” showed itself to be an AI creation — everything from their music to their images and background.
In a post on a platform from Velvet Sundown’s official account, the poster wrote, “The Velvet Sundown is a synthetic (合成的) music project guided by human creative direction, and composed, voiced, and visualized with the support of AI. This isn’t a trick — it’s a mirror; an ongoing artistic provocation (挑衅) designed to challenge the boundaries of authorship, identity, and the future of music itself in the age of AI.”
The post went on to state, “All characters, music, voices and lyrics are original creations created with the assistance of AI tools. Any similarity to actual places, events, or persons — living or deceased — is accidental and unintentional. Not quite machine.”
Currently, streaming platforms are under no legal duty to identify AI-created work. This raises concerns over consumer transparency (透明度) and infringing(侵害) on the works of the human bands that the AI was trained on, experts said. Sophie Jones, the chief strategy officer of the British Phonographic Industry, said that the organization was calling on law makers to protect copyright and introduce new transparency duties to AI companies so that music rights could be licensed and enforced, as well as calling for the clear labeling of content only created by AI.
Jones added, “The rise of AI-created bands and music entering the market shows that tech companies have been training AI models using creative works — largely without agreement or payment to creators or rights-holders — in order to directly compete with human art.”
The Velvet Sundown is not just a band. It’s a warning sign for the future of music. It emphasizes the urgent need for industry transparency and copyright protection as AI reshapes music’s future.
28. What can we know about Velvet Sundown?
A. It has attracted many listeners online.
B. It has held many live shows in cities.
C. It has hired real folk-country musicians.
D. It has created its own streaming platform.
29. What did Velvet Sundown’s official post state about itself?
A. Its creation relies on AI.
B. Its works are from real life.
C. It wants to cheat the listeners.
D. Its members are real musicians.
30. What is Sophie Jones’s attitude towards AI-created music?
A. Approving B. Optimistic C. Critical D. Satisfied
31. What is the main idea of the passage?
A. AI music bands are very creative.
B. AI music brings copyright and transparency problems.
C. Streaming platforms face legal problems with AI music.
D. Human musicians have lost competition with AI bands.

Determining the right amount of vitamin D to take is far from simple. This nutrient is key for bone health, yet taking too much or too little both bring risks, and experts have clear guidance on who needs supplements and how much to take.
Vitamin D is mainly made by the skin when exposed to sunlight and can also be found in foods with added vitamins like dairy and fatty fish. Its main job is to help the body absorb calcium, so low levels cause bone problems: rickets (佝偻病) in kids and osteoporosis (骨质疏松症) in adults. Severe shortage (blood levels below 12 ng/mL) is common worldwide — 30% in some sunny Middle Eastern countries (due to traditional clothing) and 20% in the UK (due to cloudy weather and lack of foods with added vitamins) — while the US has only a 6% severe shortage rate thanks to food enrichment.
Official daily recommendations are modest: 400 IU for babies, 600 IU for people up to 70, and 800 IU for those over 70. Most people can get this through short daily sun exposure (5-10 minutes) or a balanced diet. Supplements are only needed for high-risk groups: breastfed infants, the elderly, pregnant women, people with dark skin, and those in northern latitudes in winter. For those concerned about low levels, 1,000 IU a day is enough, and vitamin D3 is better than D2. High doses (5,000 IU or more) must be avoided, as they can cause sickness, kidney failure and worse bone health.
While early studies suggested high-dose vitamin D might fight heart disease or cancer, large experiments show no such benefits for healthy people with adequate levels. The body tightly controls vitamin D production, so more is not better. Small signs show higher doses may help with cancer spread and diseases where the body attacks itself for some healthy-weight people, but more research is needed. For now, the key rule is clear: take a proper amount — no more, no less.
32. What is the main function of vitamin D?
A. It strengthens skin against UV.
B. It helps the body take in calcium.
C. It prevents all bone-related diseases.
D. It improves kidney function directly.
33. Why is severe vitamin D shortage rare in the US?
A. It adds vitamin D to dairy.
B. It has rich natural sunlight.
C. People reject traditional clothing.
D. People take enough supplements.
34. Which group needs vitamin D supplements most?
A. Adults over 70 in all seasons.
B. Healthy young people in sunny places.
C. Dark-skinned people in northern areas.
D. Light-skinned pregnant women in summer.
35. Which can be the best title for the text?
A. Vitamin D: Balance the Intake Amount.
B. Vitamin D Supplements: a Must for Health.
C. How to Get Vitamin D Naturally and Safely.
D. High Doses of Vitamin D Bring No Benefits.

Witnessing someone choking is very terrifying, but knowing the Heimlich maneuver can save lives. Choking usually occurs when food gets stuck, blocking breathing. 36 However, here are some steps to perform this life-saving first aid.
37 If the person can still speak or breathe a little, it means the airway is not fully blocked. In this case, let them cough to remove the object. But if they can’t speak or breathe at all, their lips or fingernails may turn blue — this means the airway is completely blocked.
After figuring out the situation, ask the person, “Are you choking?” If they can answer you, do not try to hit them on the back hard, comfort them and encourage coughing. 38 Keep watching them in case the situation gets worse.
If the person is severely choking, call emergency service at once. Don’t waste time waiting for help to arrive; you need to stay calm and act fast to start first aid. Keeping a clear and calm mind will help you do the right thing to help them breathe again. 39
The Heimlich maneuver is only for adults and children over 1 year old. Stand behind the victim, wrap your arms around their waist, and lean them forward. Make a fist with one hand and place it above their stomach, then hold the fist firmly with your other hand. 40 Push again and again until the object is forced out.
In short, knowing how to do the Heimlich maneuver properly can make a real difference in saving a life.
A. First, check if the person is really choking.
B. This helps avoid pushing the object deeper.
C. Every second counts in such an emergency.
D. Choking often happens during family meals.
E. Many people don’t know how to deal with it.
F. Children under 1 should never try this method.
G. Push inward and upward quickly in one motion.

One Monday morning, John Evans, a boy in oversized old clothes and worn-out shoes, walked slowly into our second-grade class in a small North Carolina town. As the son of apple pickers who hardly earned enough to feed their family, he stood awkwardly while Mrs. Parmele introduced him to us. Whispers of disapproval were filled with the classroom; no one returned his smile, but he kept grinning(咧嘴笑)anyway. I held my breath, hoping he wouldn’t sit next to me, but the teacher pointed him to the empty desk beside mine, and I looked away to avoid seeming unfriendly.
By the end of the first week, John was the least popular in the class. I even told my mother it was “his own fault” for “not knowing how to count”. But one day, when he asked to sit with me at lunch, I reluctantly(勉强) agreed. As I listened to his chatter and watched him eat, I realized our laughing at him was unfair — he was pleasant to be around and by far the most cheerful boy I knew. We played together on the playground after lunch, and I decided to be his friend.
That night, I told Mom John’s birthday was the next day, and he would get nothing: no cakes, no presents, no celebration. Mother and I both knew that whenever a kid had a birthday, their mom would bring cupcakes and party presents for the class. Between my birthday and my sister’s, Mom had made several such trips over the years. But John’s mother worked all day on the farm, and his special day would be likely to be forgotten. Mom kissed me good night and said softly, “I’m sure everything will turn out fine.”
The next morning, I said “Happy birthday” to him. His embarrassed smile showed he was grateful. Yet as the day went on, it seemed his special day would still receive no care at all — no cupcakes, no party presents, nothing but a simple greeting from me. My heart ached for him.
