真题导练
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头
语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
2025年浙江1月卷Kevin was pretty bored.
His mother was at work, and his father had been
away on business. Therefore,he was left in the care
of Mrs.Hill,an old lady who lived next door. His
parents had raised the 12-year-old to be a good boy.
He never got into trouble, though sometimes he
wanted to do risky things.Mrs.Hill was asleep.
Kevin sighed (and hoped something exciting
would happen.Suddenly,a movement outside caught
his eye.
Mrs.Hill's front window faced Mr.and Mrs.
Green's house across the street. The couple had both
gone to work,so it was strange that someone was
over there.Kevin stared at the man at their front
door.Suddenly, the man jumped through an open
window into the house. With his heart in his mouth,
Kevin grabbed Mrs.Hill's home phone and called the
police.
Thinking that the man might get away with
whatever he wanted before the police arrived,Kevin
decided to do something. He rushed out of Mrs.
Hill's house and crossed the street quickly.Grabbing
a branch from a cut-down tree,he jumped in through
the window."Stop right there! You must leave right
now!"he called out, holding the branch with both
hands.
The man froze for a second, but when he saw
the skinny boy he breathed a sigh of relief."Hey,
kid,put that down.It was my home.My parents
used to live here and my father's watch was here,"
he explained, trying to lift a floorboard.
At that moment, the sounds of a police car
echoed(回响)in the air.The man stood up in a
panic, then ran through the house toward the window
and jumped out.Kevin followed out and told the
arriving police officers what had happened. They
pursued and arrested the man.
Kevin went back to Mrs.Hill's house.Somehow
he wasn't sure he had done the right thing."What if
he has told the truth?"he thought to himself. The
man's words sounded pretty convincing.

实战演练3
阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
At age twenty-five,with a degree in social work,I was on a mission to change the world.
Excited to be working with people in need and to help change lives,I possessed the idealistic,
energetic attitude that anything was possible.
One evening, sitting in my one-bedroom apartment,I received a call from my aunt, saying that
my ten-year-old cousin had been removed from her home and placed into a foster-care center
)I was living in Indiana, she in Arizona.I tried to offer advice and get some information on
the situation.I contacted the social worker in Arizona, who filled me in on the situation.
The social worker said that Maia had been removed from her home and it was unlikely that she
would be able to return, given the situation.Maia would likely remain in foster care unless she
could move in with a family member. In particular, she needed to be in a home without men.I fit
the criteria. My heart jumped, swirling (with emotions.Would it be possible for me,a
graduate student,to raise a ten-year-old girl?I had a heart-to-heart talk with my wise mother and we
decided to travel to Arizona together to assess the situation.
Upon arrival in Arizona,we met with the social worker, who took us to see Maia.By then, she
had been moved to a foster home. She was living with a kind woman but in a very different
environment from what she was used to.She hugged us tightly and begged us to take her home with
us.We attended a meeting with the social worker, the lawyers, and the state prosecutor ()
With my family's support,I decided to adopt her.The social worker had mentioned that I would
need to complete foster-parenting classes to earn a certification and find a suitable home.I was ready
to face the challenges.
Before we left Arizona,a rude man who worked in child welfare questioned me how I could
manage school and work with a child. He didn't want me calling him to ask for her to be sent back
after I had failed.I assured him that I'd figure out a way to do this even if that happened.

After everything was worked out,I returned to

she whispered, her eyes wide with hope,as she held
