Reduce White Pollution in Daily Life
White pollution is still a very serious environmental issue, which has done
great harm to our environment and our health.
To our delight, our government has taken a series of measures to
address white pollution. For example,a ban on offering plastic bags to
customers has been implemented by our government to restrict the use
of plastic bags.Besides, restaurants are not allowed to use non-
degradable lunch boxes. These measures have helped tackle white
pollution.
Therefore,we should do our part to help cope with white
pollution. As for the local authorities, they should use more social
media to spread the environmental awareness and encourage greater
use of recyclable bags and boxes to replace plastic ones.
Paragraph 1:
One morning,something amazing happened.At that time,I went
to water it as usual. To my surprise,a small bud appeared in the plastic
cup.Under the supervision of grandpa,I spent three weeks watering
the soil, not caring about the result, just watering it,and it did give
wonders to me!I told my grandfather with excitement. He gave me
praise kindly and said,"Nothing in the world is difficult if you are
willing to put your heart into it.Keep trying.'
Paragraph 2:
This was perhaps my first lesson in the power of perseverance.I
couldn't help feeling that no matter how big a problem I encountered in
my study,I could devote myself to solving it if I kept at it.Thank my
grandpa for giving me such a precious plant. It is grandpa that let me
understand that life on the road is easier as long as you don't give up.
It is possible to create a miracle! Therefore, whether we treat our own
life,or treat our own work, the most important thing is to stick to it
and act actively. There may be unexpected good harvest!

You can use the following writing exercise to help
D“It's just as important to show yourself some

F“Whatever it is,no matter how small it might seem, write it

G"Whatever the mistake,remember it isn't
a fixed aspect of your personality.(不管你犯了什么错误,记住这不
是你性格中固定的一面)”符合语境,G项中的“isn't a fixed aspect of

When Alex Lin was 11 years old,he read an

people were burying old computers in backyards,
throwing TVs into streams,and dumping
)cell phones in the garbage. This was

gathering information about the harmful
chemicals in e-waste and their effects on
humans..They learned how to dispose(处置)
of e-waste properly and how it could be
recycled. Then, they sent out a survey and
found only one in eight knew what e-waste
was,let alone how to properly dispose of it.
Alex and his friends went into action.
They advertised in the local newspaper and
distributed notices to students,asking
residents to bring their unwanted electronics
to the school parking lot.The drive lasted two
days, and they collected over 9,500 kilograms
of e-waste.
The next step was to set up a long-term e-
waste drop-off center for the town. After some

required companies that manufactured or sold
electronics to take back e-waste.The bill

Often,when he came to visit,my
grandfather would bring me a present. These
were never the sorts of things that other
people brought, such as dolls, books or toys.
My dolls and toys have been gone for more
than half a century, but many of my
grandfather's gifts are still with me.Once he
brought me a little plastic cup.I looked inside,
expecting to see something special. But there
was only some loose soil in it,which made me
disappointed.He smiled at me affectionately.
Turning around,he picked up a little teapot
from my dolls'tea set and took me to the
kitchen where he filled the little cup with
water.Back in the living room,he put it on the
windowsill(窗台)and handed me the teapot.
"If you promise to put some water in the cup
every day,something may happen."he told
me.

At that time,I was only five years old.
This whole thing made no sense to me at all.I
looked at him doubtfully and asked,"Do I have
to water it every day? What will happen?"He
nodded to me with encouragement,"Yes,every
day,dear.”
And so I promised.At first,curious to see
what would happen,I did not mind doing this.
But as the days went by and nothing changed,
it got harder and harder to remember to put
water in the cup. After a week,I asked my
grandfather if it was time to stop yet.Shaking
his head,“No,”he said,“Every day.”The
second week was even harder, and I became
regretful of my promise to put water in the
cup. When my grandfather came again,I tried
to give it back to him,but he refused to take
it,saying simply the same words,“Every day..”
By the third week,I began to forget to put
water in the cup during the day.Often,I would
remember only after I had been put to bed and
would have to get out of bed and water it in
the dark. But I did not miss a single day.
注意:1.续写词数应为150左右;

Paragraph 1:
One morning,something amazing happened.

This was perhaps my first lesson in the
