第Ⅰ卷(满分40分) I.完形填空(本题10小题,每小题1分,共10分) Jim was a popular radio host. He was famous not just for his smooth voice, but also for his sharp sense of style, which became his personal symbol. Every morning, he would ___1___ put on a well-ironed suit and a matching tie, making sure he looked his best before heading to the radio station. He would always arrive early at the office, ready to start his day. Many of his workmates found this interesting. “Why do you always ___2___ so formally (正式)?” they would often ask with a laugh. “After all, ___3___ sees you on the radio!” Jim would just laugh it off, turning their questions into a light-hearted joke. One day, Jim received some exciting news. A popular television show wanted to ___4___ the most famous radio hosts. This was a big deal because, for the first time, his listeners would finally get to see the man ___5___ the voice. But on the day of the taping, something unexpected happened—Jim was nearly late. The show’s director was worried. “Jim, what happened today?” he asked. Jim explained, “As I was getting dressed, I noticed my ___6___ were worn out. So, I rushed to the store to buy new ones.” The director was ___7___. “But why go through that trouble? We’re only filming you from the waist (腰) up!” Jim replied with a smile, “To feel completely confident on air, I need everything to be perfect, from my shirt to my shoes. ___8___ my socks have holes or my shoes are dirty, I just don’t feel right.” The director nodded slowly, a new ___9___ in his eyes. He realized that Jim’s attention to detail (细节) wasn’t about being seen; it was about his personal ____10____. That was what truly set him apart and made him outstanding. 1. A. on B. for C. from D. behind 6. A. glasses B. ties C. socks D. shirts 7. A. angry B. excited C. surprised D. thankful 8. A. If B. Unless C. Although D. Before 9. A. courage B. respect C. question D. worry 10. A. duty B. talent C. hobby D. standard 【答案】1. D 2. B 3. D 4. A 5. D 6. C 7. C 8. A 9. B 10. try on“试穿”,take off“脱下”,drop by“顺便拜访”,均不符合询问穿着的语境。 on“在……上面”,for“为了”,from“来自”,均不能准确表达“隐藏于声音之后”的含义。 【6题详解】 句意:我注意到我的袜子已经穿破了。 根据后文提到“my socks have holes”可知,此处应填socks“袜子”。 II.阅读理解(本题20小题,每小题1.5分,共30分) A Hey guys, guess what? I’m getting married next year! Wow, I’m so happy for you. I have good news too! I just got the job I’ve wanted so much. Come on, Mark. Don’t start again. You’re stealing Jenny’s thunder. Jenny was telling us about her big news. It’s very important to her. And you want us to hear about your new job now? I didn’t mean that. I just... I agree. Last time when we were talking about how delicious Linda’s cake was, you started telling us about the chocolate cake you made at home. All right, all right, my problem. Sorry, Jenny. I’ll never do that again. So do you want to know what job I got? 11. What’s the relationship among the three people? A. School classmates. B. Office coworkers. C. Good friends. D. Family members. 12. What is Jenny’s big news? A. She got a new job. B. She made a delicious cake. C. She will get married. D. She will move to a new house. 13. What do we know about Mark from the talk? A. He does not like Linda’s cake. B. He often cuts in when others talk. C. He is getting married to Jenny. D. He is good at telling funny jokes. 14. Which is probably an example of stealing someone’s thunder? A. Brian never changes his mind except when his wife asks him to. B. Kate tells Tom she’ll go to the party but tells her mom she’ll stay at home. C. Jeff announces he’ll move abroad while Maria is telling us about her new baby. D. Luke says he doesn’t care where to eat but then dislikes the restaurant we chose. 15. How will the talk probably go on? A. Jenny will share more about her wedding plans. B. Linda will say sorry to Mark for being impolite. C. They will start discussing about Mark’s new job. D. Mark will talk about his delicious chocolate cake. C 12. C 13. B 14. C 15. 【12题详解】 Jenny说“Hey guys, guess what? I’m getting married next year!”以及Linda说“Wow, I’m so happy for you.” 【13题详解】 Linda说“You’re stealing Jenny’s thunder. Jenny was telling us about her big news. It’s very important to her. And you want us to hear about your new job now?”和Jenny说“I agree. Last time when we were talking about how delicious Linda’s cake was, you started telling us about the chocolate cake you made at home.” 【15题详解】 对话最后Mark问“So do you want to know what job I got?” A. Jenny will share more about her wedding plans最合理。 B Is there a special animal in your life? A beloved friend with a waggy (摇晃的) tail that fills your heart with joy at the end of the day, or a trusted friend whose soft, warm fur (皮毛) brings you comfort when you’re feeling blue? If you’re thinking about getting your first pet, it is important to decide which animal is right for you and your family. Try this quiz (测试) to see what pet might be right for you. After choosing the type of pet, you’ll find your perfect match. Would you prefer a playful young one or a calmer adult? You might also consider rehoming a pet from a rescue (救援) center, offering it a loving second chance. The day you bring your new friend home is exciting for everyone, but it can feel a bit scary for the animal itself. Do you remember your first week at school? Your pet probably feels the same mix of nervousness and curiosity in a new environment. To help it feel at home, introduce it gently to all family members. Provide a quiet, safe space for it to get used to everything. A familiar toy from its old home can offer great comfort. Be patient as it learns the new rules, like where to eat or go to the toilet. Once your pet gets used to its new home, remember the responsibilities you’ve taken on. It’s up to you to keep it clean, healthy and happy through play, proper diet, and normal checks. It’s daunting, being responsible for a whole new life, but it should be a fun adventure (探险). Don’t forget to enjoy the special moments with your new friend. Most importantly, remember what’s at the heart of the animal-human relationship: love. Your pet will give it to you unconditionally, and by returning that love with care and respect, you’ll build a lasting friendship. 16. What is the most important step before getting your first pet according to the passage? A. Going to a rescue center or a pet store. B. Deciding which animal fits your family. C. Buying toys and a cute bed for your pet. D. Asking your friends what pet they have. 17. Which pet is a good choice for a person who loves daily jogging in his backyard? A. Dog. B. Guinea pig. C. Cat. D. Fish. 18. Why does the writer mention “your first week at a new school” in Paragraph 3? A. To advise readers to send their pets to animal school. B. To show that school is always an exciting experience. C. To help readers understand how a new pet might feel. D. To explain how pets can help children with school life. 19. How do you understand the underlined word “daunting” in Paragraph 4? A. Easy and simple. B. Difficult and worrying. C. Painful and harmful. D. Interesting and thankful. 20. What is the writer’s main purpose of writing this passage? A. To tell interesting stories about different kinds of pets. B. To encourage people to take more rescue pets into family. C. To guide people on choosing and caring for a pet responsibly. D. To explain the behaviors and needs of dogs, cats, guinea pigs and fish. 16. B 17. A 18. C 19. B 20. The hot-air balloon is one of the simplest forms of transportation and is still in use today. It uses hot air stuck inside a huge balloon to lift passengers high into the sky. Why can hot air do that? That is because gases are made up of billions of atoms (原子) or molecules (分子) that move around freely. The hotter a gas gets, the faster they move and the farther they spread out, making the gas expand (膨胀). When the balloon is on the ground, the air inside it is not much warmer than the air outside. Air molecules inside and out are equally spaced (等距)—we say they have the same density (密度). When the pilot heats the air inside the balloon, the molecules spread out. The air in the balloon becomes less dense, which makes it lighter. As a result, the balloon rises. The warmer the air in the balloon gets, the less dense and lighter it gets compared to the heavier, cooler air outside. The balloon rises higher and higher. To bring the balloon back down, the pilot needs to cool the air inside it. He releases (释放) some of the hot air through an opening at the top. Cool air is drawn in at the bottom to take the place of it, and the balloon falls down. Soon after the first hot-air balloon was flown, people began trying huge balloons that could carry passengers a long way. Called airships, some of these used hydrogen (氢气) instead of hot air because hydrogen has a much lower density than air. However, hydrogen burns, and it caused blow-ups. Today, airships are filled with helium (氦气), which has a low density but doesn’t burn. 21. What can we know about hot-air balloons according to the text? A. They can move around freely. B. They fly higher than other airships. C. They’re the oldest form of travel. D. They work by heating the air inside. 22. Which picture best describes “The hot-air balloon is falling down.”? A. B. C. D. 23. Why is helium used in modern airships instead of hydrogen? A. It’s easier to produce than hydrogen. B. It’s light and it’s safer than hydrogen. C. It can make airships fly much faster. D. It can spread out faster than hydrogen. 24. Why can birds use rising air to fly higher? A. Warm air rises and lifts them up. B. The Sun carries them upward. C. The wind directly pushes them up. D. The ground gives them power. 25. What is the text mainly about? A. It tells the history and safety rules of old airships. B. It shows how people heat and cool hot-air balloons. C. It introduces how birds use rising air to fly in the sky. D. It explains the science of hot air and its uses in flying. 21. D 22. C 23. B 24. A 25. Kindness is choosing to do something to help others and show you care. ___26___ That could mean stopping what you’re doing to play with someone who’s on their own, or giving a friend praise. Why should you be kind? Kindness helps everyone feel safe, included and cared for. In fact, it shapes the kind of homes, schools, and communities we live in. ___27___ Scientists have found that being kind causes our brains to release feel-good chemicals, which helps us to feel happier and makes our bodies healthier. ___28___ Embracing (拥抱) these differences helps us become kinder. Instead of expecting friends to think or act the same way you do, try to understand that everyone sees the world differently. When we focus on what we have in common rather than how we differ, we take a step toward a kinder and happier world. Being kind also means avoiding cruelty. Sometimes kindness is about what you don’t do. ___29___ Your opinion doesn’t always need to be shared. Don’t be afraid to think small. If someone looks unsure or alone, even a warm smile can go a long way. There are poems here for everyone—humorous, serious, short, long, familiar, or brand-new. First let’s learn something about rhyme. Clouds by Kate Coombs I saw one little cloud A that looked like a wish, B but now there’s a crowd A like a school of white fish. B This poem is made up of four lines. They have an ABAB rhyme scheme (押韵格式), which means that the first, third lines rhyme at the end, and the second and fourth lines have a different rhyme at the end. A poem can paint a picture, sing a song, tell a story, show a feeling, play with words, and make you think. Poems also help us discover details that we may never have noticed before. Now let’s enjoy! 3. __________ by George Cooper “Come,” said the Wind to the Leaves one day. “Come over the meadow and we will play. Put on your dresses of red and gold. For summer is gone and the days grow cold.” To Yahola by Alexander Posey The sky has put her bluest garment on, And gently brushed the snowy clouds away; The robin trills a sweeter melody, Because you are just one year old today. Who Has Seen the Wind? by Christina Rossetti Who has seen the wind? Neither I nor you: But when the leaves hang trembling, The wind is passing through. Who has seen the wind? Neither you nor I: 5. _________________________ The wind remembers, in his sweet refrains, Away, away up in the tossing trees, That you came in the world a year ago, And earth is filled with pleasant harmonies, And all things seem to say, “Just one year old today.” 41. What is rhyme? And give an example. __________________________________________ 42. What is the rhyme scheme of the poem by George Cooper? __________________________________________ 43. Please give a suitable title to the poem by George Cooper. __________________________________________ 44. Why does the writer write the poem To Yahola? __________________________________________ 45. Please write the last two lines to complete the poem Who Has Seen the Wind? Follow the same pattern as the first six lines. ______________________________________________ 【答案】41. Rhyme is that two words have the same sound at the end. For example, “wish” and “fish” in the poem Clouds. 42. AABB. 43. The Wind and the Leaves(言之有理即可) 44. Because Yahola is just one year old today, and the writer wants to express his blessing to Yahola. 45. But when the trees bow down their heads, The wind is passing by.(言之有理,符合格式即可) 【解析】 【导语】本文主要介绍了诗歌的特点(包含押韵、情感和想象力),讲解了押韵格式,并呈现了三首不同主题的诗歌,引导读者了解和欣赏诗歌。 【41题详解】 首段直接定义了rhyme,即“two words have the same sound at the end”;文中诗歌Clouds中,第二行“wish”与第四行“fish”结尾发音相同,是典型的押韵例子,可直接引用。 【43题详解】 诗歌开头“Come,” said the Wind to the Leaves one day. 【44题详解】 诗歌To Yahola结尾明确提到“Because you are just one year old today”和“Just one year old today”,结合诗歌中“天空穿上最蓝的衣裳”“知更鸟唱着更甜的旋律”等优美意象,可判断作者写这首诗是为了庆祝Yahola的一岁生日,表达祝福。 【45题详解】 诗歌前六句的句式是“Who has seen the wind? Neither...nor...; But when..., The wind is passing...”,且结尾需押韵(前六句中“you”“through”“I”有隐约韵脚,补充句子需贴合这一节奏)。 The Prince and the Pauper is set in 1547 and it tells the story of two young boys who are born on the same day into two very different families. They look very similar. One is Prince Edward, son of Henry VIII, King of England. The other is Tom Canty, a pauper (穷人) who lives with his cruel father in Pudding Lane, London. One day, the boys meet and Prince Edward takes Tom to his room. They want to understand each other’s life so they decide to exchange clothes. But the boys’ game soon becomes a reality. The prince, dressed as Tom, is mistaken for a pauper and thrown out of the palace. From that moment, Tom lives the life of the prince. The real prince suffers in the role of the poor boy. The boys have a number of adventures and they learn different things that help them to survive. Left among the poor, Edward suffers hunger, cruelty, and unfairness, seeing how common people live. A former soldier named Miles Hendon protects him. Meanwhile, Tom struggles (斗争) with palace life but shows kindness and common sense in his new role. C The first hot-air balloon was created in 1783. D You might not think being kind to someone is that important, but even the smallest acts of kindness can make a big difference to people’s lives. And finally, be genuinely (真诚) interested in others. ___30___ It’s a simple act that makes people feel seen and valued. A.
