During the last years of the Warring States period (战国时期), the State of Qin wanted to take control of Chu. At first, a young Qin general (将军) won several fights and took a few small towns. But later, his soldiers met a serious failure in a sudden attack, and he had to run away. After this failure, the ruler of Qin decided to choose a more experienced general—Wang Jian.
Wang Jian led a large army to the border (边境). Instead of attacking at once, he set up simple camps and ordered his soldiers to eat well, sleep well and keep training every day. They built low walls and stayed watchful, but made no move to fight.
So the Chu soldiers had to stay ready day and night because they were worried about a sudden attack. As days turned into months, they grew tired and less careful. Over time, they began to believe that their enemy (敌人) only wanted to protect itself and would not attack.
After more than a year, the Chu army finally began to move back. At that moment, Wang Jian saw his chance. He ordered a full attack. The tired Chu soldiers could not fight back and soon ran away. Wang Jian’s army moved quickly across Chu’s land and finally reached its capital.
Wang Jian’s success came from his method, not from luck. It teaches us that sometimes the best way to win is not to rush, but to stay calm, prepare well, and wait for the right moment.

A. Ready to sleep. B. Tired and weak.

③The Chu army grew tired and relaxed their guard.
④The ruler of Qin chose the experienced general Wang Jian.
⑤Wang Jian ordered a full attack on the Chu army.
A. ④→①→③→②→⑤ B. ①→④→②→③→⑤
C. ①→④→⑤→③→② D. ④→①→②→⑤→③

No question is too small when Kansas high school student Kayla Chege uses AI. She asks AI for help with everything from shopping to party planning. You might think AI is just a homework helper, but it’s becoming a digital companion (同伴) for many teens-offering advice, emotional (情感的) support, and even friendship.
A new US study surveyed over 1,000 teens. More than 70% have used AI as a companion. About one in three have used it for emotional support or friendship. Some teens find talking with AI as satisfying as, or even more than, talking with real friends. Though half don’t fully trust AI’s advice, one in three have discussed serious problems with AI instead of people.
Lead author Michael Robb finds this worrying. AI is growing fast and becoming as common in teens’ lives as smartphones. AI is no longer just a tool-it’s becoming an important part of their lives.
Why do teens turn to AI? AI can be personalized (定制的) and offer human-like conversations. Talking to AI makes teens feel heard. Some say it’s because AI “is always there for you,” “never gets bored,” and “never judges you.”
However, educators worry that relying too much on AI could harm teens. The teenage years are important for building self-identity (自我认同) and social skills. If teens always turn to AI for comfort, they may miss chances to think for themselves, deal disagreements, and understand others’ feelings. This could make it harder to build real friendships. Also, AI can sometimes give wrong information, which may be risky.
As more teens see AI as a companion, Robb warns this should be a wake-up call. Choosing AI over real-life friends can bring serious risks.
56. Why does the writer use the example of Kayla Chege in Paragraph 1?
A. To lead into a topic. B. To develop an idea.
C. To show a difference. D. To suggest a method.
57. According to the study, we can know that ________.
A. all teens trust AI’s advice
B. AI is not popular among US teens
C. teens never talk to AI about serious problems
D. about one third of teens have used AI for emotional support
58. From the passage, we can infer that some teens turn to AI mainly because ________.
A. AI gives more useful advice than teachers
B. AI offers a safe place without fear of being judged
C. AI helps them finish their homework faster
D. AI is cheaper and easier to talk to than real people
59. What might happen if teens depend too much on AI for comfort?
A. They will become smarter.
B. They will make more real friends.
C. They may find it hard to build good relationships.
D. They will get better results in their lives.
60. Which of the following would be the best title for the passage?
A. AI: The Best Friend for Teens B. AI Friends: Help or Harm
C. AI: What Can Teens Learn from it D. AI Friends: A Good Choice

Artificial (人工的) light comes from signs and streetlamps (路灯). It helps people see after the sun goes down. But too much artificial light becomes light pollution. This makes it hard to see the stars at night. It also harms animals and wastes energy.
For billions of years, all living things have depended on Earth’s day and night cycle. This cycle is part of their DNA. Humans are now changing this cycle by lighting up the night. Many insects fly towards light, but artificial lights can create a deadly attraction. When insect numbers drop, animals that eat them or depend on them for pollination (授粉) also suffer (遭受). Birds that travel or hunt at night use the moon and stars to find their way. Artificial light can make them lose their way and fly towards cities. Every year, millions of birds die after flying into brightly lit buildings and towers.
Using more light than needed or lighting places at the wrong time is wasteful. Wasting energy costs us money and hurts the environment. In an average year in the U. S. alone, outdoor lighting uses about 120 terawatt-hours of energy. Most of this is for streets and parking lots. That’s enough energy to power all of New York for two years.
Light pollution affects everyone and every living thing. Luckily, more and more people now understand this problem. Scientists, homeowners, and environmental groups are taking action to bring back the dark night.
From April 21 to 28, people celebrate International Dark Sky Week. This yearly event reminds people to reduce light pollution. A teenager started it in 2003. Now DarkSky International runs it. The group’s website says we should only use outdoor lighting when necessary. It also asks people to tell others about light pollution. Why not go outside with your family and friends to enjoy the beautiful night sky now?

【答案】56. A 57. D 58. B 59. C 60. B

七、任务型阅读 (15分)
阅读下面材料,根据材料内容完成后面表格,每空填一个单词。
