Passage 4
People make long journeys to different countries. 1 However, the biggest journey is the self-discovery journey. How can you start the journey of self-discovery? Here are four tips for you.
Find out your most valuable ability. You may have different kinds of abilities. It could be about your ability to create, your ability to understand others or your skills at football. But which of them are you proud of? You need to find out the answer. 2
Know what makes you excited. This will tell you where you can get your own joy. It could be when you are performing a dance on stage, when you help your dad fix his computer or even when you are doing research on your school science project.
Get out of your comfort zone (舒适区). It is always comfortable to stay in your familiar area. However, in order to discover yourself, you need to put yourself in some uncomfortable situations. You can do some outdoor activities you are afraid of. 3 This will give you a chance to learn more about how you feel, think and react when the challenge comes.
4 It is also a powerful way to discover things about yourself. When you are in a different place where people share different thoughts, you may have a chance to rethink about what you always believe.

Passage 2
Anshun, a city rich in history, has created a new “internet-famous” zebra crossing (斑马线) that has caught the eye of locals and tourists. This crossing, located in Anshun’s historical area, is not just a path for pedestrians (行人); it’s a symbol of the city’s dedication (贡献) to safety and culture.
The crossing has a special “A” shape, which is the first letter of “Anshun” in Pinyin. This design is more than just a look—it represents (代表) Anshun’s journey, blending (混合) old traditions with new ideas. Painted in bright red, yellow, and white, it stands out to ensure that people can see it clearly. For added safety, there are ground lights that match the traffic lights, making it easier for people to cross at night.
This special zebra crossing is not just for helping people cross the street. It also shows the spirit of Anshun’s culture. The design has the shape of the “Shun” character from “Anshun”, with lines that look like the famous Huangguoshu Waterfall. There are also circles that represent a “360-degree life experience”, which reminds us of the city’s full and rich lifestyle. These details make the crossing a special place that shows Anshun’s special personality.
All in all, the smart zebra crossing not only makes it safer for pedestrians but also brings the historical area closer to the modern parts of Anshun. So it has become a popular place where people come to take photos and share their visits on social media. The mascots are designed from Chinese white dolphins. These are rare animals that live in the Pearl River Estuary near the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge. There are three-colored waves on their heads. The colors stand for Guangdong's kapok (木棉花) red, Hong Kong’s bauhinia (紫荆花) purple and Macao’s lotus(莲花) green. This shows the unity of the three places. Fourteen years later when a friend dropped in, this special pot caught his attention. He took it to a museum and asked experts for help. Soon experts came to a surprising result: the pot belonged to the Five Dynasties.
But experts didn’t know how to pour water into the pot. They only found a small hole in the bottom. What was it used for?
To find the answers, experts gave the pot an X-ray, and found there were two pipes (管道) inside. One straight pipe is in the middle, and the other curved (弯的) pipe connects to the spout (嘴).
