B “I don’t know what to write to you, so I will tell you a story about four little rabbits named Flopsy, Mopsy, Cottontail, and Peter,” wrote Beatrix Potter in 1893, in a letter to a little boy who was suffering from fever. A decade later, with small changes, these lines formed the opening to one of the most popular books in children’s literature — The Tale of Peter Rabbit. Like many children-story authors, Potter (1866-1943) was not a professional writer. Her main interest was nature. During her childhood family holidays in Perthshire and the Lake District, she got to experience nature up close. At the London Natural History Museum, she carefully studied plants and animals. It was her background that gave Peter Rabbit and Potter’s later animal stories their unique sense of believable wonder. Thanks to Potter’s drawings, the humanized rabbits seemed to exist in a familiar place. As Potter once admitted, her studies of plants helped make her fantasy drawings real. Although later stories contained even more detailed drawings, Peter Rabbit has charming pictures of its impudent hero. In these pictures, Peter in the vegetable garden ate radishes (萝卜) or jumped off walls and knocked over pots of flowers. The picture of Peter planning to escape from the garden while watching Mr. McGregor, his enemy, digging up onions gives us a feeling of tension and adventure that appeals to the child in all of us. Potter’s love of all animals is reflected in the many other creatures she drew, including robins, sparrows and starlings, a mouse, goldfish and a beautiful white cat. The Tale of Peter Rabbit was first published by Frederick Warne in 1902. Potter wanted the book to be small enough to fit into a child’s hands and inexpensive (with black-and-white drawings), but Warne had a different opinion. Only after Potter had the book published privately did Warne change his mind. Today, the original stories can be found published by Warne, and two million Potter books are sold worldwide each year. 4. What contributes to the realness of Potter’s drawings? A. Her friendship with a sick child. B. Her professional training as a writer. C. Her effort to become a famous artist. D. Her contact with nature in childhood. 5. What does the underlined word “impudent” probably mean in Paragraph 5? A. Brave. B. Rude. C. Clever. D. Shy. 6. What was Warne’s first attitude toward Potter’s idea of book publishing? A. Supportive. B. Doubtful. C. Excited. D. Uninterested. 7. Which of the following is the best title for the passage? A. Nature and Imagination: The Story Behind Peter Rabbit. B. Inspiration for Art: The History of The Tale of Peter Rabbit. C. Letters and Literature: The Origin of Children’s Literature. D. Beatrix Potter: A Talented and Successful Businesswoman. C A study published in September suggests there is a surprising way to get people to avoid unhealthy foods: change their memories. Scientist Elizabeth Loftus of the University of California at Irvine asked volunteers to answer some questions on their personalities and food experiences. “One week later,” Loftus says, “We told those people we’d entered their answers into our smart computer and it came up with an account of their early childhood experiences.” Some accounts included one key additional detail: “You got sick after eating strawberry ice-cream.” The researchers then changed this detail into a manufactured (人为促生的) memory through leading questions — Who were you with? How did you feel? By the end of the study, up to 41% of those given a false memory believed strawberry ice-cream once made them sick, and many said they’d avoid eating it. When Loftus published her findings, she started getting calls from people begging her to make them remember hating chocolate or French fries. Unfortunately, it’s not that easy. False memories appear to work only for foods you don’t eat on a regular basis. But most important, it is likely that false memories can be implanted (灌输) only in people who are unaware of the mental control. And lying to a patient is immoral, even if a doctor believes it’s for the patient’s benefit. Loftus says there’s nothing to stop parents from trying it with their overweight children. “Parents have been lying about Father Christmas for years, and nobody seems to mind. If they can prevent diseases caused by fatness and all the other problems that come with that, you might think that’s a more moral lie. Decide that for yourself.” 8. Why did Loftus ask the volunteers to answer some questions? A. To improve her computer program. B. To find out their attitudes towards food. C. To find out details she can make use of. D. To predict what food they’ll like in the future. 9. What did Loftus find out from her research? A. People believe what the computer tells them. B. People can be led to believe in something false. C. People tend to forget their childhood experiences. D. People are not always aware of their personalities. 10. According to the study, people may stop having a certain food if they ________. A. learn it is harmful for health B. lie to themselves that they don’t want it C. are willing to let doctors control their minds D. think they once had a bad experience of eating it 11. Why is Father Christmas mentioned? A. To show that parents often lie to their children for fun. B. To prove that lying about Father Christmas is harmful to children. C. To suggest that lying for health reasons may be acceptable. D. To argue that children should decide for themselves what is true. D In the 19th century, three pioneering women struggled to find their place in a male-controlled field. Elizabeth Blackwell, Elizabeth Garrett Anderson and Sophia Jex-Blake—among the first female doctors—are the heroines of Olivia Campbell’s new book. The story is lively and interesting, and the main characters are full of personality and individualism. Jex-Blake is described as “big and confident, a determined educational reformer with large eyes and an even lager personality”. Garrett Anderson, referred to as “Lizzie” throughout, was equally determined but also educated, and polite. The result is a great read for anyone looking for an introduction to the history of medical women. The biographies of the three women are woven into a bigger, grander story about medicine in the 19th century and it is slow and unwilling acceptance of female physicians (医师). Though British, Blackwell attended medical school in the US. “Lizzie” was admitted to the medical school only via a loophole (漏洞) in the admissions policy. And Jex-Blake’s attempt to sit a medical exam in Edinburgh was met with a storm of protest. Unsurprisingly, the three heroines faced many difficulties, but their efforts finally proved successful. Women in White Coats is, therefore, a successful tale of social progress. The final concluding chapter paints a sunny picture of present-day equality within the medical profession. However, in its efforts to tell an inspiring story, the book glosses over continuing problems within the profession today. Though more women than men now graduate from medical school, they face struggles with career progression and sexism. We need more books that don’t offer a “great white men” approach to history. However, they have to deal with the incomplete and uneven nature of progress. Inspiring as it is to read stories of heroines trying hard and succeeding against the odds, that isn’t the whole picture. Medicine might be better for women now than in the past, but the problems of the Victorian era continue to exist and we still have far to go. 12. Who might particularly enjoy reading Women in white Coats? A. People favoring science fiction novels. B. Researchers studying great white men in history. C. Those interested in female pioneers in medicine. D. Students curious about the development of medicine. 13. Why does the writer tell the stories of the three women in Paragraph 2? A. To praise their strong personality. B. To state the success of women in medicine. C. To prove their determination and confidence. D. To show the challenges faced by female physicians. 14. What do the underlined words “glosses over” mean in Paragraph 3? A. Solves. B. Ignores. C. Stresses. D. Defends. 15. What can we infer from the last paragraph? A. Gender equality has been achieved in medicine. B. The problems faced by women are a thing of the past. C. History books should inspire people with women’s success. D. History books should cover the successes and struggles of women. Setting Clear Goals for Your Study Do you want to improve your grades? From somewhere, an inner voice said, “Go see Jeff and bring him the chair to repair. Go right now.” it was such a strong need that I hurriedly dressed and carried a dinning-room chair to his door.  Jeff was a neighbor who had lost his wife a while back, and he sometimes did minor repairs for me because he enjoyed working with his hands. I knocked on his door and waited a while. I was about to walk away when he answered. He looked like he was far away in his thoughts. I felt awkward about upsetting him so early. I greeted him and then asked if he could repair my chair. He invited me inside. We sat in his living room. He looked very sad and not his usual self. He said he had had a stroke recently, and while he was home now, he still needed to attend physical treatment. He had to build his strength back up. I apologized for the chair and told him I would just bring it back home. He said to leave it. We talked for a while. He said that, before I arrived, he was seriously sad. So, my visit stopped his darkness. I listened to how hard it had been since his wife passed and how much worse it was now since the stroke. The longer we talked, the more I saw his mood lighten. After I left his home, I went to the supermarket and gathered ingredients. I made him a hot meal I thought he would like. Carefully, I cut up vegetables and prepared stew (炖菜) for him. I believe it was the best stew I ever made. I made homemade biscuits and prepared fresh fruit for dessert. I realize there might have been healthier food, but I thought a hot meal would lift his spirits. I dropped it off for him. He was glad that someone cared. Emotionally, he seemed in a better place. About a week later, he knocked on my door.  ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 2025-2026 学年度第二学期汾湖高级中学阶段性教学反馈训练 高一英语试卷 2026. 03 试卷分值150分,考试用时:120分钟 第 Ⅰ 卷 第一部分听力 (共两节,满分30分) 做题时,先将答案标在试卷上。 根据文章中对各个书店的介绍,“Livraria Lello, in the coastal city of Porto, Portugal, is an architectural brilliance. Founded in 1906 by brothers José and Antóni o Lello(葡萄牙沿海城市波尔图的莱罗书店,是建筑上的杰作。由若泽和安东尼奥・莱罗兄弟于1906年创立)”;“Shakespeare and Company is an English language bookstore in Paris. Established in 1919 by Sylvia Beach(莎士比亚书店是巴黎的一家英语书店。由西尔维娅・比奇于1919年创立)”;“The Hay Castle Bookshop, in the world's first ‘Book Town’, Hay-on-Wye, Wales, stands as a literary shelter within the historic walls of Hay Castle. Set up in the 1960s(海伊城堡书店,位于世界上第一个“书镇”——威尔士的海伊镇,坐落在海伊城堡的历史城墙内,是一个文学庇护所。成立于20世纪60年代)”;“Founded in 1922 by Michael Houghton, this bookstore is famous for its breathtaking design and energetic atmosphere.(这家书店由迈克尔・霍顿于1922年创立,以其令人惊叹的设计和充满活力的氛围而闻名)”对比可知,莱罗书店创立于1906年,历史最悠久。故选A项。 根据“Hay Castle Bookshop”部分的“Uniquely, it is a 24-hour honesty bookshop, meaning there is no staff, no front desk, and no cash register. Simply look through the store, and drop your cash or coins in the letterbox before leaving(独特的是,这是一家24小时诚信书店,这意味着没有员工,没有前台,也没有收银机。只需在店里浏览书籍,离开前把现金或硬币投进信箱即可)”可知,海伊城堡书店的特别之处在于它的自助服务运营模式,没有员工和收银机,顾客自助购书。所以选D项。 【3题详解】 细节理解题。根据“Shakespeare and Company”部分的“the bookstore not only offers a wide variety of books, including classics, contemporary fiction, poetry, and rare editions, but also serves as a cultural base, hosting author readings, literary events, and writing workshops(这家书店不仅提供各种各样的书籍,包括经典著作、当代小说、诗歌和珍本,还作为一个文化基地,举办作者朗读会、文学活动和写作工作坊)”以及“Atlantis Books”部分的“Literary events, author readings, and film screenings are frequently held here(这里经常举办文学活动、作者朗读会和电影放映活动)”可知,莎士比亚书店和亚特兰蒂斯书店的共同之处在于它们都举办文化活动,如作者朗读会、文学活动等。故选C项。 B “I don’t know what to write to you, so I will tell you a story about four little rabbits named Flopsy, Mopsy, Cottontail, and Peter,” wrote Beatrix Potter in 1893, in a letter to a little boy who was suffering from fever. D 5. B 6. B 7. 根据第三段“Her main interest was nature. During her childhood family holidays in Perthshire and the Lake District, she got to experience nature up close. At the London Natural History Museum, she carefully studied plants and animals. It was her background that gave Peter Rabbit and Potter’s later animal stories their unique sense of believable wonder.(她的主要兴趣是大自然。童年时,她和家人在珀斯郡和湖区度假,她有机会近距离体验大自然。在伦敦自然历史博物馆,她仔细研究植物和动物。正是她的背景赋予了彼得兔和波特后来的动物故事独特的、可信的奇迹感。)”可知,童年与自然的接触是画作真实性的关键。故选D项。 【5题详解】 词句猜测题。根据划线单词下文描述Peter Rabbit的行为“In these pictures, Peter in the vegetable garden ate radishes (萝卜) or jumped off walls and knocked over pots of flowers. The picture of Peter planning to escape from the garden while watching Mr. McGregor, his enemy, digging up onions gives us a feeling of tension and adventure that appeals to the child in all of us.(在这些图片中,彼得在菜园里吃萝卜,或者从墙上跳下来,撞翻了花盆。彼得一边看着他的敌人麦格雷戈先生挖洋葱,一边计划逃离花园,这幅画给我们一种紧张和冒险的感觉,这吸引了我们所有人的童心。)”可知,彼得兔的这些举动带有顽皮、无礼的色彩。所以,impudent的意义为“鲁莽的;放肆无礼的”,与rude意义一致。故选B项。 【6题详解】 细节理解题。 根据最后一段“Potter wanted the book to be small enough to fit into a child’s hands and inexpensive (with black-and-white drawings), but Warne had a different opinion. Only after Potter had the book published privately did Warne change his mind.(波特希望这本书足够小,可以塞进孩子的手里,而且价格便宜(有黑白图画),但沃恩有不同的意见。直到波特私下出版了这本书,沃恩才改变了主意。)”可知,对于波特的图书出版想法,沃恩最初的态度是怀疑的。故选B项。 【7题详解】 主旨大意题。 文章主要讲述了波特如何从自然中获得灵感,并通过她的想象力创作出《彼得兔》的故事。因此,用A项“Nature and Imagination: The Story Behind Peter Rabbit(自然与想象:彼得兔背后的故事)”作为本文的题目,与文章主题相符合。故选A项。 C A study published in September suggests there is a surprising way to get people to avoid unhealthy foods: change their memories. C 9. B 10. D 11. 根据第一段“Some accounts included one key additional detail: “You got sick after eating strawberry ice-cream.” The researchers then changed this detail into a manufactured (人为促生的) memory through leading questions-Who were you with? How did you feel? By the end of the study, up to 41% of those given a false memory believed strawberry ice-cream once made them sick, and many said they’d avoid eating it. (一些报道还附加了一个关键的细节:“你吃了草莓冰淇淋后生病了。”然后,研究人员通过诱导性问题——你和谁在一起?你感觉如何?在研究结束时,被给予错误记忆的人中,高达41%的人认为草莓冰淇淋曾经让他们生病,许多人说他们会避免吃它。)”可知,Loftus会要求志愿者回答一些问题,她的目的是“找出可利用的细节”来构建虚假记忆。故选C项。 【9题详解】 细节理解题。根据第一段“By the end of the study, up to 41% of those given a false memory believed strawberry ice-cream once made them sick, and many said they’d avoid eating it. (在研究结束时,被给予错误记忆的人中,高达41%的人认为草莓冰淇淋曾经让他们生病,许多人说他们会避免吃它。)”可知,Loftus从她的研究中发现人们会被误导去相信一些错误的东西。故选B项。 【10题详解】 推理判断题。根据第一段“By the end of the study, up to 41% of those given a false memory believed strawberry ice-cream once made them sick, and many said they’d avoid eating it. (在研究结束时,被给予错误记忆的人中,高达41%的人认为草莓冰淇淋曾经让他们生病,许多人说他们会避免吃它。)”可知,根据这项研究,如果人们认为自己曾经吃过一种不好的食物,他们可能会停止吃这种食物。故选D项。 【11题详解】 推理判断题。根据最后一段“Loftus says there’s nothing to stop parents from trying it with their overweight children. “Parents have been lying about Father Christmas for years, and nobody seems to mind. If they can prevent diseases caused by fatness and all the other problems that come with that, you might think that’s a more moral lie. Decide that for yourself.” D In the 19th century, three pioneering women struggled to find their place in a male-controlled field. C 13. D 14. B 15. 根据文章第一段“The result is a great read for anyone looking for an introduction to the history of medical women.(这本书对任何想要了解医学女性历史的人来说,都是一本好的读物。)” 根据文章第二段“The biographies of the three women are woven into a bigger, grander story about medicine in the 19th century and it is slow and unwilling acceptance of female physicians (医师).(这三位女性的传记被编织成了19世纪关于医学的更宏大的故事,是关于人们对女医生的接受是缓慢且不情愿的。)” 根据文章第三段glosses over前文“The final concluding chapter paints a sunny picture of present-day equality within the medical profession. However, in its efforts to tell an inspiring story, the book(最后一章节描绘了当今医学界平能的美好图景。然而,为了讲述一个鼓励人心的故事,这本书……)”的提示可知,however前提出了这本书最后一章节描绘了当今医学界平等的美好图景,however一词转折,因此是不好的一面,这本书忽视了当今这个行业中持续存在的问题故此处glosses over与B项“Ignores忽视”一词意思相近,故选B。 【15题详解】 推理判断题。根据文章最后一段“However, they have to deal with the incomplete and uneven nature of progress. Inspiring as it is to read stories of heroines tying hard and succeeding against the odds, that isn’t the whole picture.(然而,她们必须处理进步的不完整性和不确定性。 Setting Clear Goals for Your Study Do you want to improve your grades? Some lose their habitats because humans cut down too many trees or take up their living spaces. Others are hunted illegally for their fur, meat, or other body parts, further endangering their populations. To save wild animals, we must take effective measures. First, we need to raise public awareness about protecting them. Besides, we should avoid buying products made from endangered species. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】About a week later, he knocked on my door. I turned the knob to open the door and I caught sight of the chair and a pair of smiling eyes staring at me. He had repaired it. I invited him inside to my living room. He said the stew was wonderful. Though I usually was skeptical of praise, I knew it had been because I made it with love. He talked of his next physical treatment appointment. I proposed driving him to the hospital, but he said he would figure it out. I appreciated his repairing my chair. He said it gave him a reason to get his strength back. He had returned to his usual self, and his confidence had returned. I was so thankful for the inner voice that directed me to see him that morning. 词汇激活 行为类 ①看见:caught sight of/saw/found ②提议:proposed/ suggested ③指引:direct/ lead 情绪类 ①感谢:appreciated/ showing my appreciation/show my gratitude/be grateful ②怀疑的:skeptical/ doubtful 【点睛】[高分句型1] Though I usually was skeptical of praise, I knew it had been because I made it with love.(运用了Though引导的让步状语从句) [高分句型2] I was so thankful for the inner voice that directed me to see him that morning.
