Discussion
Tom says they often eat Gongbao chicken in America. Do you think
the tastes will be the same or not? Share your reasons.
Culture Tip
American Gongbao Chicken is sweeter than the Chinese one. It is less spicy. More sugar or ketchup makes it a milder, sweeter dish to fit American tastes.
Chinese Gongbao Chicken is from Sichuan. The flavor is a wonderful combination of spicy, sweet, and sour.
Further Thinking
Why can Tom eat these Chinese dishes in America?
Besides Gongbao Chicken, what else Chinese dishes are popular around the world?
