Cappadocia, Turkey Designated a World Heritage Site in 1985, Cappadocia is a place of flowing rock formations and stone-capped chimneys (狭缝). Consider taking one of the many hiking trails to get up close. Nearby, in the village of Uchisar are the ancient cave homes built by the people of the Bronze Age. Borobudur, Indonesia Borobudur is one of Indonesia’s most famous landmarks, included in the list of World Heritage Sites in 1991. Located on the island of Java, this massive temple complex was constructed in the 700s, but two to three hundred years later, it was abandoned, possibly due to volcanic eruptions in the area, and went relatively undisturbed for centuries. The site was uncovered in the 1800s and later restored. Mesa Verde, U.S.A. Mesa Verde is home to some of the most well-preserved Indian ruins in North America. It has been on the list of World Heritage Sites since 1978. The most impressive sites are the cliff dwellings (住所), where the Ancestral Puebloans lived between the 12th century and the late 13th century. You can drive up to the top of the mesa to see pit houses and other ruins. Petra, Jordan Inscribed into the list of World Heritage Sites in 1985, this ancient capital city of the Nabataeans is a stone city with dwellings carved into sandstone walls. It has roots that trace back to as early as the 4th or 5th century B.C. Discovered in the early 1800s, it has been referred to as “the rose city” for the color of the rock. Situated in a mountainous area with limited access, it held a strategic position on the trade route in the region. Today, Petra is the most important tourist attraction in Jordan. 1. Which of the following appeared on the list of World Heritage Sites first? A. Cappadocia, Turkey. B. Borobudur, Indonesia. C. Mesa Verde, U.S.A. D. Petra, Jordan. 2. What can you enjoy in Cappadocia, Turkey? A. Cave homes. B. Temple complexes. C. Cliff dwellings. D. Rose-colored rocks. 3. What made Petra stand out in history? A. Its natural resources. B. Its critical location. C. Its dynamic tourism. D. Its unique scenery. C 2. A 3. 根据Cappadocia, Turkey部分中“Designated a World Heritage Site in 1985, Cappadocia is a place of flowing rock formations and stone-capped chimneys (狭缝).(卡帕多西亚在1985年被指定为世界遗产,这里有流动的岩层和石头顶的烟囱)”;以及Borobudur, Indonesia部分中“Borobudur is one of Indonesia’s most famous landmarks, included in the list of World Heritage Sites in 1991.(婆罗浮屠是印度尼西亚最著名的地标之一,1991年被列入世界遗产名录)”;以及Mesa Verde, U.S.A.部分中“It has been on the list of World Heritage Sites since 1978.(自1978年以来,它一直被列入世界遗产名录)”以及Petra, Jordan中“Inscribed into the list of World Heritage Sites in 1985, this ancient capital city of the Nabataeans is a stone city with dwellings carved into sandstone walls. (这座纳巴泰人的古都于1985年被列入世界遗产名录,是一座石城,民居雕刻在砂岩墙上)”可知,MesaVerde在1978年被列入世界遗产名录,与其他三个文化遗址相比,它是最先被纳入世界遗产名录的遗址。故选C。 【2题详解】 细节理解题。根据Cappadocia, Turkey部分最后一句“Nearby, in the village of Uchisar are the ancient cave homes built by the people of the Bronze Age.(附近的Uchisar村是青铜器时代的人们建造的古老洞穴房屋)”可知,在这里可以欣赏到青铜时代人类建造的古老洞穴住所。故选A。 根据 Petra, Jordan部分倒数第二句“Situated in a mountainous area with limited access, it held a strategic position on the trade route in the region. Today, Petra is the most important tourist attraction in Jordan.(它位于山区,通道有限,在该地区的贸易路线上占有战略地位。今天,Petra是约旦最重要的旅游景点)”可知,由于位于山区通道受限的地方,Petra 在该地区的贸易路线上占据着战略位置,因此名垂千古。故选B。 B Over the past three years, Kang Jian has created more than 400 dough sculptures (面塑) and become a city-level inheritor (传承人) of this intangible cultural heritage in Mohe, Heilongjiang Province. “When I was a little boy, every time my parents made dumplings, they would give me a small piece of dough,” he said. “I tried to make various animals — a rabbit, a fish, or a snail. The small, simple objects brought me lots of good childhood memories and planted the seeds of fine art, especially sculpture, in my heart.” Kang’s parents were not financially able to support his desire to study fine arts while he was at school. But he didn’t give up. He spent his spare time after school studying drawing by himself. Then, in December 2018, during a visit to a museum in Beijing, Kang, for the first time, got information about the intangible cultural heritage of dough sculpting, which attracted him greatly. “I was really excited to learn about dough sculpting,” he said. “Then I had the idea of taking my childhood interest up again.” He then spent 20 days learning skills from Bai Chunyu, a provincial-level inheritor of dough sculpting. And in August 2019, he got the chance to learn from another national-level inheritor. Kang spent nearly all his spare time practicing, hoping to improve quickly. “To learn as much as possible during my 40 days there, I practiced every day from 6 am until late at night,” he said. “When I slept, I had to put my hands in hot water to relieve the pain. But all the efforts turned out to be worth it.” In April, Kang completed the dough sculptures of 108 characters from the novel Outlaws of the Marsh after 16 months of work. “Most of my dough sculptures are traditional Chinese characters. In my mind, the real value of my dough sculpture as a national intangible cultural heritage lies in its connection with traditional Chinese culture. That’s the charm and significance of the art,” he said. 4. What inspired Kang to have the dream of dough sculpting? A. His talent for drawing. B. His admiration for Bai’s skills. C. His parents’ encouragement and support. D. His childhood experiences with dough. 5. What did Kang do to learn dough sculpting? A. He sought guidance from masters. B. He paid frequent visits to museums. C. He got formal training at an art school. D. He sought help from many sculpting lovers. 6. What does Kang probably think of his learning of dough sculpting? A. Tiring but rewarding. B. Costly and stressful. C. Fruitful and smooth. D. Boring but productive. 7. Why does Kang like making dough sculptures of Chinese characters? A. To get more recognition. B. To attract more enthusiasts. C. To better express Chinese culture. D. To improve skills with familiar characters. D 5. A 6. A 7. 根据第二段中的““When I was a little boy, every time my parents made dumplings, they would give me a small piece of dough,” he said. “I tried to make various animals — a rabbit, a fish, or a snail. The small, simple objects brought me lots of good childhood memories and planted the seeds of fine art, especially sculpture, in my heart.”(“小时候,每次父母包饺子都会分给我一小块面团,”他回忆道,“我把面团捏成各种小动物——兔子、鱼儿、蜗牛。这些简单稚拙的小物件,不仅承载着美好的童年记忆,更在我心中埋下了美术的种子,特别是雕塑的种子。”)”可知,康健童年与面团相关的经历,为他埋下了面塑梦想的种子,是他面塑梦想的灵感来源。故选D项。 【5题详解】 细节理解题。根据第三段中的“He then spent 20 days learning skills from Bai Chunyu, a provincial-level inheritor of dough sculpting. And in August 2019, he got the chance to learn from another national-level inheritor.(随后,他花了20天时间向省级面塑传承人白春雨学习技艺。2019年8月,他又获得了向另一位国家级传承人学习的机会。)”可知,康健通过向面塑大师(省级、国家级传承人)寻求指导来学习面塑技艺。故选A项。 根据第四段中的““To learn as much as possible during my 40 days there, I practiced every day from 6 am until late at night,” he said. “When I slept, I had to put my hands in hot water to relieve the pain. But all the efforts turned out to be worth it.”(“为了在那里的40天里尽可能多学,我每天从清晨6点练习到深夜,”他说道,“晚上睡觉时,不得不把手泡在热水里缓解疼痛。但所有的努力最终都被证明是值得的。”)”可知,康健学习面塑的过程很辛苦,但最终收获满满,觉得一切付出都值得,即过程累但有回报。故选A项。 根据最后一段中的“In my mind, the real value of my dough sculpture as a national intangible cultural heritage lies in its connection with traditional Chinese culture. That’s the charm and significance of the art.(在我看来,作为国家级非物质文化遗产,我的面塑真正的价值在于它与中国传统文化的联系。这就是这项艺术的魅力和意义。)”可知,康健喜欢制作中国人物面塑,是为了更好地展现中国传统文化。故选C项。 C It’s the start of a new era of AI at Google, says CEO Sundar Pichai: the Gemini era. Gemini is Google’s latest large language model, which Pichai first mentioned at the I/O developer conference in June and is now releasing to the public. This significant advance in AI will ultimately impact almost all of Google’s products. Gemini is more than a single AI model. There’s a lighter version called Gemini Nano meant for offline Android devices, a more powerful version called Gemini Pro that will power many Google AI services, and an even more capable model called Gemini Ultra — the most powerful LLM (大语言模型) Google has yet created. It seems to be mostly designed for data centers and enterprise applications. OpenAI launched ChatGPT in 2022. Now Google is ready to fight back. “We’ve done a very thorough analysis of the systems side by side,” says CEO Sundar Pichai. Google ran 32 well- established criteria comparing the two models, from overall tests to the Python code generation. “I think we’re substantially (大量地) ahead on 30 out of 32 of those criteria.” he adds. Gemini’s clearest advantage comes from its ability to understand and interact with video and audio. This was by design: multi- modality has been part of the plan from the beginning. Google built one multi- sensory model from the beginning, unlike OpenAI’s separate models for images and voice. Right now, Gemini’s most basic models are text- based , but more advanced models like Gemini Ultra can work with images, video, and audio. “Over time,” Google DeepMind CEO Demis Hassabis says, “Gemini will gain more senses, become more aware, accurate, and grounded. These models just sort of understand better about the world around them.” These models still have other problems, but Hassabis says they will improve as they learn more. 8. What is Gemini according to the text? A. A new language model in development. B. A light AI model designed for offline use. C. A new language model developed by Google. D. A light AI model created for specific enterprise applications. 9. What does Gemini Nano specialize in? A. Generating Python code. B. Running on offline Android devices. C. Powering Google AI services. D. Training separate models for images and voice. 10. What is a key advantage of Gemini over OpenAI’s ChatGPT? A. The ability to write Pyth on code. B. The ability to work with video and audio. C. The understanding and interaction with textual data. D. The ability to create separate models for images and voice. 11. What can be inferred from the last paragraph? A. Google will bring the most advanced models. B. Gemini models outperform OpenAI’s ChatGPT. C. Google will still work on the perfection of Gemini models. D. Gemini models are launched without even a slight imperfection. C 9. B 10. B 11. 根据第二段“There’s a lighter version called Gemini Nano meant for offline Android devices,”(有一款名为Gemini Nano的轻量级版本,适用于离线安卓设备)可知,Gemini Nano 专门用于离线安卓设备,故答案是 B。 根据第四段“Gemini’s clearest advantage comes from its ability to understand and interact with video and audio”(Gemini最明显的优势来自于他们理解视频和音频的能力。) 最后一段提到“but Hassabis says they will improve as they learn more”(但哈萨比斯表示,随着他们学到更多,他们会进步的)可知,Google 还将继续完善 Gemini 模型,故答案是 C。 D If you’ve ever awoken from a vivid dream only to find that you can’t remember the details by the end of breakfast, you’re not alone. Dreaming happens mostly during rapid eye movement (REM) sleep. During this sleep stage, brain activity looks similar to that in a waking brain, with some very important differences. Key among them: During REM sleep, the areas of the brain that transfer memories into long-term storage — as well as the long-term storage areas themselves — are relatively closed off. Short-term memory areas are active during REM sleep, but those only hang on to memories for about 30 seconds. People have to wake up from REM sleep, generally, to recall a dream. If, instead, they pass into the next stage of sleep without waking, that dream will never enter long-term memory. REM sleep occurs about every 90 minutes, and it lengthens as the night drags on. The first REM cycle of the night is typically just a few minutes long, but by the end of an eight-hour night of sleep, a person has typically been in the REM stage for a good 20 minutes. That’s why the strongest association between any life circumstance and your memory of dreams is the number of hours you’ve slept. If you sleep only six hours, you’re getting less than half of the dream time of an eight-hour night. Those final hours of sleep are the most important for dreaming. And people tend to remember the last dream of the night — the one just before waking. Other factors also contribute to whether you’ll remember your fantastic nighttime adventures. Women tend to remember a few more dreams than men. Young people remember more dreams than older people. Memories of dreams increase in kids from the age at which they can communicate about those dreams plateau from the early teens to the early 20s and then very gradually decline in adults over the rest of their life span. 12. What is the purpose of the first paragraph? A. To present a problem. B. To introduce the topic. C. To stress a phenomenon. D. To make an assumption. 13. How can people remember their dreams? A. By getting into the next stage from REM sleep. B. By transferring memories into long-term storage. C. By sleeping long hours to remember more dreams. D. By waking up from REM sleep and recalling their dreams immediately. 14. What does the underlined word “plateau” in the last paragraph probably mean? A. Grow to a steady stage. B. Prevent the further loss. C. Cause the big changes. D. Lengthen the sleeping time. 15. What is the suitable title of the passage? A. Why Do People Forget So Many Dreams? B. How Do People Remember Their Dreams? C. When Do People Remember Their Dreams? D. What Do People Do to Remember Their Dreams? B 13. D 14. A 15. 根据第一段“If you’ve ever awoken from a vivid dream only to find that you can’t remember the details by the end of breakfast, you’re not alone. (如果你曾经从一个生动的梦中醒来,却发现到早餐结束时你记不起细节,你并不孤单。)”可知,如果你曾经从一个生动的梦中醒来,却发现你到早餐结束时都不能记起梦的细节,那么并不是你一个人有这种情况。下文对这种遗忘梦境的现象进行了具体介绍,由此推知,本段通过举例子来引入一个话题:人们会忘记很多梦。故选B。 【13题详解】 细节理解题。根据第三段“People have to wake up from REM sleep, generally, to recall a dream. If, instead, they pass into the next stage of sleep without waking, that dream will never enter long-term memory. (一般来说,人们必须从快速眼动睡眠中醒来才能回忆起一个梦。相反,如果他们没有醒来就进入下一个睡眠阶段,那个梦就永远不会进入长期记忆。)”可知,人们可以通过从快速眼动睡眠中醒来并立刻回想梦境来记住自己的梦。故选D。 【14题详解】 词句猜测题。根据最后一段“Memories of dreams increase in kids from the age at which they can communicate about those dreams plateau from the early teens to the early 20s and then very gradually decline in adults over the rest of their life span. (孩子们从能够交流这些梦的年龄开始,对梦的记忆就会增加,从十几岁早期到二十岁早期保持稳定,然后在成年后的余生中逐渐减少。)”可知,此处在介绍对梦的记忆阶段从开始记忆到稳定,然后遗忘,孩子们对梦的记忆从十几岁前期到二十岁出头时逐渐达到稳定阶段。plateau意为“达到稳定时期(阶段)”。故选A。 故选A。 Learning a foreign language can be difficult, but if you follow certain techniques, you’ll be able to learn any language soon. B. Speak with native speakers. C. What is the best method suitable for you? D. This way will get you used to using the word itself. E. It helps in understanding pronunciation of other languages. F. Translate your daily spoken native language into the required language. G. This is probably the most important part of the language besides the vocabulary. A 17. E 18. G 19. F 20. 【16题详解】 根据上文的“Learn from your past experience. If you’ve learned languages in the past, go over what you learned then and try to figure out what was most effective for you.(从过去的经验中学习。如果你在过去学过语言,那就复习一下你学过的东西,然后找出对你最有效的方法)”和下文的“What didn’t? Which parts of the process did you find easy? Which parts were hard? When you’ve sorted this out, you’ll be ready to start learning the language.(什么没有?你觉得这个过程的哪一部分容易?哪些部分是困难的?当你解决了这些问题,你就可以开始学习这门语言了。)”可知,A项(什么对你的学习有帮助?)承接上文,说明你要回顾过去的学习经验,找出对你有帮助的学习方法,并引出下文,指出在回顾的过程中有哪些具体问题要弄清楚。故选A项。 English Phonology deals with English pronunciation.(学习英语音系学。英语音系学研究英语发音)”和下文的“You can find many websites and online videos on English Phonology. Relate English pronunciation with other language pronunciation.(你可以找到很多关于英语音韵学的网站和在线视频。将英语发音与其他语言发音联系起来)”可知,E项(它有助于理解其他语言的发音。)承接上文,指出了学习英语音系学的原因,并引出下文,具体介绍如何去做。故选E项。 【18题详解】 根据上文的“Pay attention to the grammar.(注意语法)”和下文的““Paul want Mary go store” may communicate an idea, but it is not at all correct English. If you do not pay attention to grammar, you can sound equally incomprehensible in another language.(“保罗想让玛丽去商店”可能传达了一个想法,但它根本不是正确的英语。如果你不注意语法,你说的另一种语言听起来同样难以理解)”可知,G项(这可能是语言中除了词汇之外最重要的部分。)承接上文,说明了学习语法的重要性,并引出下文,指出不重视语法的后果。故选G项。 【19题详解】 根据下文的“Just imagine you went to a shopping center. Then think how you would interact with people. Write the whole conversation in your native language then translate every sentence into the required language.(想象一下你去了一家购物中心。然后想想你将如何与人互动。用你的母语把整个对话写下来,然后把每个句子翻译成所需的语言)”可知,在日常生活中,可以把想要说的话先用母语写出来,然后再翻译成目标语言,F项(将你的母语翻译成所需语言。)作为段首句提出这个建议,符合语境。故选F项。 【20题详解】 根据上文的“Memorize 30 words and phrases each day. Start with the most common words. Memorization is half the battle and there are many different ways to memorize. You can practice writing each word a dozen times.(每天记住30个单词和短语。从最常见的单词开始。记忆是成功的一半,有很多不同的记忆方法。每个单词你都可以练习写十几遍)”可知,D项(这种方法会让你习惯使用单词本身。)承接上文,说明了将每个单词写十几遍,这样会有助于你使用单词。故选D项。 第三部分 语言运用(共两节,满分30分) 第一节(共15小题;每小题1分,满分15分) 阅读下面短文,从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。 When I was young, I struggled with my weight. My answer is yes. Some worry that this technology might make us less human. But I see it as a natural step in human evolution. Just as writing and computers expanded our minds, BCI can help us learn more efficiently, freeing our time for creativity and deeper thinking. Of course, we should use it wisely. But progress should not be stopped by fear. Let’s embrace the future with an open mind. Thank you! Dear teachers and classmates, Today, I’d like to share my thoughts on whether to accept brain-computer interface technology to assist learning. My answer is no. I understand the appeal of efficiency, but I believe learning is not just about acquiring knowledge — it is about struggle, curiosity, and personal growth. If technology does the work for us, we may become efficient learners, but will we still be truly human? For me, the journey of learning matters more than the speed. I’d rather keep my mind natural and free. I had been taught that money couldn’t buy everything ever since I was a little kid. My parents are the most hard-working people I have ever seen. As much as my parents tried to teach me these values, some could only be learned through personal experiences. As a child, I would sit in the church trying to concentrate on the words of the priest (牧师),but my attention was soon attracted by the shining gold and the diamonds worn by the Saturday churchgoers. As my eyes began to wander, I noticed men dressed in their tailored suits and shirts with women in their designer dresses. My family, on the other hand, was the opposite of rich. Our clothes had been washed so many times that the colors had become dull and lifeless. Although this showed the money struggles of our large family, our faces were always washed and hair neatly combed. When sitting on the old big red and white truck after the service, I pictured the lives led by those driving their brand-new cars, wishing I would be one of them. I never stopped those daydreams, even when I was in middle school. Since it was a private school, most of the children came from wealthy families. Although I could hide my lack of wealth at school by wearing our school uniforms, my situation was embarrassingly obvious on weekends with my classmates wearing designer jeans and I had no choice but to wear my sisters’ old jeans. I never fitted in with my classmates. To my relief, there was only one girl named Julie who opened her heart to me. I was attached to her. Soon, her birthday was approaching. Julie invited me to attend her birthday party. Paragraph 1: However, I grew upset as I couldn’t afford a gift. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Paragraph 2: When she opened the gift box, my heart was too nervous to beat. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】However, I grew upset as I couldn’t afford a gift. It would be such an embarrassing scene to be present without a gift. I even thought about quitting, but I was not able to bring it forth. I struggled for days but couldn’t figure out any solution. One day, while helping with my hardworking parents with the housework, it suddenly occurred to me that maybe I could make a gift by myself. I immediately started my DIY project, which ended up with a toy doll. The big day finally came. I arrived at her house and handed her the box. When she opened the gift box, my heart was too nervous to beat. I looked closely at her face, wondering if she would just laugh at me. What happened next was totally beyond my imagination. Upon seeing the doll, Julie let out a cry of excitement and she held it close to her face, saying repeatedly that it was the sweetest gift she had ever received. Her words freed me. I couldn’t help smiling together with her. At that precious moment, I realized money couldn’t buy everything. It was our friendship that really mattered. 想出解决方案:figure out a solution / find a resolution ②.我突然想到:it occurred to me that… / it dawned on me that… ③. 发出兴奋的叫声:let out a cry of excitement / shout with joy ②. B Over the past three years, Kang Jian has created more than 400 dough sculptures (面塑) and become a city-level inheritor (传承人) of this intangible cultural heritage in Mohe, Heilongjiang Province. C It’s the start of a new era of AI at Google, says CEO Sundar Pichai: the Gemini era. 8. D If you’ve ever awoken from a vivid dream only to find that you can’t remember the details by the end of breakfast, you’re not alone. D. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
