B Several years ago, I was addicted to personal bests (PBs). I treated every run as a never-ceasing battle against time with my GPS watch serving as my judge. Failure seemed certain unless I hit the target pace while success merely fueled the urge to map out how to go faster next time. It was two years before this means of running brought out multiple physical discomforts in me. Then a major injury — my broken ankle — sidelined me for three months, forcing me to switch to long, unhurried walks in the nearby park — no watch, no headphones and just the rhythm of my footsteps. It came as a revelation: I noticed the golden color of dusk filtering through oak leaves, the laughter of children echoing from the playground and the smell of freshly baked bread floating from a nearby bakery. When I returned to running, I resolved to abandon the addiction to PBs, opting for a pace gentle enough to allow off-key singing without breathing heavily. I joined a social running group, where we paused to pet dogs and share weekly stories. Then trail running, where roots and rocks demand full attention to footing rather than speed, became my new pursuit. Initially, it felt odd, like I was cheating, casting me into a mild state of disquiet with this unaccustomed pace. Soon, this shift brought clarity. One Saturday dawn, an aimless run led me to a reservoir. As I watched the sunlight sparkling on the water, I realized I hadn’t checked my electronic watch even once — no thoughts of pace or distance, just pure pleasure in running. That’s when it hit me: The essence of running doesn’t lie in pursuing data but in fully inhabiting the present, embracing surrounding delights and connecting with my body, nature and the world. That, indeed, is the greatest personal best of all. Now, I run to unwind after a long workday, to bond with friends and to witness sunrises. Occasionally I race at full speed, only when it feels fulfilling, not driven by a device and letting go of the need to prove myself. 24.What does paragraph 1 indicate about the author? A. He was keen on running aimlessly. B. He excelled in plotting running routes. C. He tended to run at a constant pace. D. He took his running performance too seriously. 25. What does the underlined word “revelation” in paragraph 2 probably refer to? A. A universal cure. B. A long-awaited miracle. C. An ethical option. D. A refreshing discovery. 26. How did the author feel in his first attempt at trail running? A. Uneasy. B. Relieved. C. Pessimistic. D. Determined. 27. What does the author’s experience show? A. A run shared is a run enjoyed. B. Running is about joy not figures. C. One can’t run before one can walk. D. A far journey begins with an initial step. C Imagine the final stretch of a marathon: your body aches, but the cheering crowd gives you energy to run faster. Similarly, a basketball team wins more home games in front of their own fans. Even you might solve a problem faster when someone watches. These common experiences all point to a basic psychological principle. This phenomenon is known as social facilitation (促进), which describes how individuals can perform tasks differently when in the company of others compared to when they are alone. The concept was first proposed by psychologist Norman Tripplett, who noticed that cyclists raced faster in groups. He tested his theory with a simple experiment where children were tasked with winding fishing line. Tripplett observed that the children who were being around others moved faster, suggesting that a peer (同龄人) nearby can motivate. But later studies found conflicting evidence. In another test participants were given a more complex task, like memorizing a list of words. Those in front of others performed worse than those working alone. This contradiction (矛盾) led to a key change of the theory. The presence of an audience tends to improve performance on simple tasks. On the other hand, for novel tasks, the same audience can hurt performance. Why does this happen? Psychologists suggest the key reason is our concern about being judged by others. Since approval and disapproval often depend on others’ evaluations, we naturally become more alert in front of an audience. This alertness helps with mastered skills, but gets in the way of learning new ones. There isn’t one recipe for success, but social facilitation theory helps to point us in the right direction. To improve a well-practiced skill like running or playing an instrument, strategically seek an audience by joining a club or performing publicly. If you struggle when watched, practice alone until you gain confidence. By taking advantage of social settings wisely, we can use the audience effect to achieve our best performance. 28. What is the main idea of social facilitation? A. Group interaction enhances learning efficiency. B. Individual performance peaks in competitive settings. C. Social situations have predictable effects on behavior. D. The presence of others can influence our performance. 29. Which factor can explain the conflicting results in paragraph 3? A. The size of the audience. B. The difficulty of the task. C. The type of the reward. D. The personality of the participant. 30. What is the root cause of social facilitation? A. Evaluation anxiety. B. Peer pressure. C. Competitive desire. D. Personal standard. 31. What does the author suggest we do about the phenomenon? A. Gradually increase audience size. B. Thoughtfully manage social contexts. C. Actively observe others' performances. D. Strategically seek supportive audiences. D Engineers from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) have designed an innovative ultrasonic (超声波) system to shake water out of an atmospheric water harvester, recovering captured water in just minutes, a breakthrough aiming to address global water shortages. Atmospheric water harvesting, which collects water even from dry desert air, has been explored by scientists for ages. “Traditional methods rely heavily on solar heat to release the water absorbed by a special material. Any material good at capturing water doesn’t want to part with that water,” said the team leader Boriskina. “The process tends to drag on for hours to turn out usable water, unable to meet urgent needs in water-starved regions.” Ikra Shuvo, an MIT graduate student specializing in ultrasound technology for wearable medical devices, became a collaborator when Boriskina recognized his ultrasound expertise combined with theirs could solve the water recovery problem head-on. Ultrasound is a form of high-frequency sound wave that can generate microscopic shakes when acting on a substance. This being the case, the team put forward a straightforward idea: Applying ultrasound to the water-harvesting material, they could break the weak bonds between the water molecules and the material, quickly causing the water to shake loose and drop out as droplets. The team set out to develop an ultrasonic water-harvesting device. It is heat-free but requires external electricity. A solar cell can run the system and also act as a sensor that signals when the storage material has reached full limit. Programmed to activate automatically whenever enough water is ready to be collected, the setup boasts 45-fold higher energy efficiency than heat-based alternatives, operates independent of sunlight and enables repeated daily cycles for greater water output. It can be easily positioned in remote dry regions, providing a steady supply of clean water and a more energy-efficient, environmentally friendly alternative to energy-intensive processes like seawater desalination. Endless possibilities will unfold when distinct fields of science — ultrasound technology, materials science and environmental engineering — come together. The Svetlana-led MIT team’s leap in water recovery technology is a powerful testament to this very truth, one that is anticipated to bring vital solutions to water-scarce regions. 32. What did Boriskina say about traditional water harvesting methods? A. They’re less productive. B. They use waterproof materials. C. They’re resource-intensive. D. They vary from region to region. 33. On what basis did the team propose the novel idea in paragraph 4? A. The easy release of water. B. Ultrasound’s physical characteristic. C. The toughness of materials. D. Ultrasound’s application ranges. 34. What is the function of a solar cell in the ultrasonic device? A. To heat the storage material. B. To absorb and draw on sunlight. C. To power the device and monitor capacity. D. To set the device for automatic operation. 35. What mainly accounts for the team’s technological breakthrough? A. Pressing water demand. B. Cross-field integration. C. Interschool academic exchanges. D. Svetlana’s exceptional leadership. 第二节(共5小题;每小题2、5分,满分12. 5分) 根据短文内容、从短文后的选项中选出能填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余 选项。 Time management is often described as the way you use time to get more done and achieve desired results. ____36____ It is impossible to manage time. Each day offers everyone the same 24 hours, so what you can truly manage is yourself. ____37____ By developing productive habits, you automatically direct your focus toward high-impact tasks, ensuring that efforts are not merely spent on doing more, but on doing the right things well. Therefore, shifting from being merely busy to being genuinely productive requires forming a set of essential habits. You may begin by tracking your time for a week to gain an honest, data-driven picture of your current habits. ____38____ It helps force you to clarify priorities and allocate (分配) specific blocks of time for focused work. Equally critical is protecting your focus. Schedule demanding tasks for your peak productivity hours and defend these blocks using visual signals(e.g. “Do not disturb” signs). to minimize interruptions. However, a common misconception is that multitasking enhances productivity. In reality, what we call multitasking is often rapid task-switching, which divides attention, reduces focus, and ultimately leads to lower-quality results. ____39____ It’s important to recognize that the primary barriers to effective self-management are rarely a lack of time: Rather, they typically arise from a lack of clear priorities or unexamined habits. Time, much like money, is a valuable and limited resource. It demands wise allocation and investment in what truly matters. Mastering self-management is key to unlocking enhanced productivity and achieving goals. ____40____ A. However, the phrase is misleading. B. Achieving your goals is never that easy. C. Anyway, good habits are usually formed by force. D. With this insight structure your day by creating a schedule. E. Instead, concentrated effort on one task produces far better outcomes. F. A huge part of our day, from morning routine to work processes, runs on habits. G. By managing yourself effectively, you ensure your time is invested, not just spent. 第三部分 语言运用 (共两节,满分30分) 第一节 (共15小题;每小题1分,满分15分) 阅读下面短文,从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。 I’d started a new job and decided to say yes to everything I wanted for the next year. Skateboarding had always been his favorite sport and lifelong passion, and his love of skating helped him build a community where he truly belonged. Everything changed one day when Nick was suddenly paralysed (瘫痪的) by Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS), a rare condition where the nervous system got attacked. What started as a sore muscle in his leg quickly turned into a medical emergency. He spent 13 weeks in intensive care at a hospital and seven months in recovery. Everything that once felt natural had to be learned all over again, like moving, standing, or even lifting his hands. Being unable to skateboard during this long recovery left Nick deeply frustrated. Suddenly losing that part of himself made the days feel heavier. Learning about his struggle, Riseup, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to helping people rebuild their lives after illness, began checking in on him regularly. Volunteers brought updates from the skate scene, shared small stories to keep his spirits up, and guided him through exercises to regain strength and mobility. Their steady presence gave him the courage to recover with determination and he was slowly recovering some of his strength and mobility. One quiet afternoon, while trying to distract (分心) himself, Nick explored Etsy, an online marketplace for handmade goods and noticed that many people were selling wooden sculptures they had carved themselves. Their colorful shapes caught his attention and awakened something inside him. With his old wooden boards piled in a corner at home and his desire to stay connected to skateboarding still strong, he suddenly imagined turning those worn-out boards into artwork. The volunteers, aware of his new idea, encouraged, “Go for it! Those boards have stories; make something out of them. And we’ ll be here to help.” 注意: (1)续写词数应为150个左右; (2)请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 Nick soon started experimenting. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ _________________________________________________________________________________ ___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ With the money he earned, Nick chose to give back. _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 2025-2026学年高一第二学期4月阶段性检测 英语试卷参考答案 第一部分 听力 (共两节,满分30分) 1-5CBAAB 6-10 ACBAA 11-15 CCCBB 16-20 CBACB 第二部分 阅读 (共两节,满分50分) 21-23 CDB 24-27 DDAB 28-31 DBAB 32-35 ABCB 36-40 AFDEG 第三部分 语言运用 (共两节,满分30分) 完形填空(共15小题;每小题1分,满分15分) 41-45 CBADC 46-50 BCADB 51-55 DBACA 语法填空(共10小题;每小题1.5分,满分15分) 56. Some pages are even torn, which ruins the beauty of the books. Library books are shared resources for all students. They help us gain knowledge and broaden our horizons. Not only does the above improper behavior ruin fellow readers’ learning experience but also shows disrespect for public property and adds burden to the library’s already overworking maintenance team. Therefore, I appeal to every student to treasure our shared books—never scribble on them, dogear or stain a page, and always keep them clean and intact. Only in this way can we enjoy the pleasure of reading together. 第二节(满分25分)参考范文 Nick soon started experimenting. He rummaged through his old skateboards, selecting those with the most character—scratches, dents, and faded stickers. With trembling hands but a determined heart, he began carving the wood into abstract shapes, inspired by his skateboarding memories. As he sanded and painted each piece, he poured his emotions into the artwork, transforming worn-out boards into vibrant sculptures. To his delight, his creations quickly gained attention online, and orders started pouring in, filling him with a renewed sense of purpose. With the money he earned, Nick chose to give back. He donated a portion to Riseup, the organization that had supported him during his darkest days, hoping to help others facing similar struggles. He also used the funds to organize free carving workshops for patients in rehabilitation centers, sharing his story and skills to inspire them. Nick realized that though he could no longer ride a skateboard, he could still create and uplift others, turning his pain into a powerful force for good. 听力录音文稿 1. 【原文】M: What would you like to do in your lifetime? W: I want to travel to Mars. I think that would be the most amazing thing I ever do in life. What about you? M: I want to write a book about films. 2. 【原文】W: Can you pick up Amy after school today? She gets out at 12:30 p.m. I have a doctor’s appointment at 1:00 p.m. M: I can pick her up at 1:30 p.m. I’ll call the school and ask if she can go to the daycare after school for an hour. 3. 【原文】W: Thanks for making us dinner, Edward. I know it was my turn. M: No problem. I know that you have been studying hard for your exams, and I thought you might be hungry. 4. 【原文】M: What did you get in your math exam? W: I got an A! That means I can go to my first-choice university! What about you? M: I only managed a B. I can’t go to my first-choice university with these grades. 5. 【原文】M: Hi, Melissa. Did you only just get back from France? We were expecting you yesterday. W: Hi, Ted. Our flight was delayed by over 12 hours because of the weather. I phoned Jack and explained. 6-7【原文】M: Is it you that placed the order? W: Yes, thank you for coming so quickly. M: And we’re going to the airport? W: That’s correct. M: The app makes everything a lot simpler. I’ve already mapped out the quickest way for your journey. W: Well, that is very helpful. M: Thanks. I also have some bottles of water if you need them. W: Yes, please. I’m so thirsty. Thank you. 8-10【原文】W: I’m sorry, Mr. Marshall. I couldn’t get the books you asked for. M: Why not? I’m sure they’re over there. W: But I think the bookcase is locked or stuck. M: OK, sit back down and I’ll go and try to open it myself. W: I’m almost sure it’s locked. The door just wouldn’t move at all. M: If it is, I’ll have to get the key from the headmaster. Oh, but he’s not in today, is he? W: No, I think he’s gone on holiday. He might have taken the key with him. M: No, he wouldn’t do that — but he might have left it with Rachel. W: She was in school today. I saw her this morning. 11-13【原文】W: Thank you for inviting me to view this special exhibition. It was my pleasure to come to this gallery. M: That’s all right. The artworks were painted by a local artist. He spent decades painting the beauty of this unique town, along with scenes from his life. W: May I ask a question? I heard that the artist died in 1922 without ever selling a single painting. Is that true? M: Yes, indeed. The artist preferred to be alone. He lived by himself, working in secret, and painted almost all his life. His friends and family only discovered his talent after he died at the age of 92. When they cleared his house, they found more than 300 paintings. And no one had ever seen these paintings. W: How surprised and delighted he would be to know that his artworks are now being shown like this! M: Yes. One thing I particularly love is that these paintings tell me what his life was like from when he was young until his death. 14-17【原文】W: Hey Liam. Why do you look so down? What happened? M: It was my driving test today. Did you forget? W: Oh no. You failed? M: Yep, I failed. That is my fourth fail now. W: What went wrong? M: I think it’s because I was nervous. I passed all my practice exams with my instructor with high scores. But then with a stranger, I failed. W: I have an idea. M: What is it? W: Ask your instructor to go with you to the exam. You are allowed to have them in the back of the car. M: Really? W: Yes. My cousin did that to help her pass. It took her seven times! M: I shall talk to my instructor about it. W: How many lessons have you had? M: Feels like a million. But probably around 50. All my salary from working at McDonald’s disappears because of driving tests. W: It will be worth it in the end. It took me forever to pass my English and math exams. You must keep going. It’s the same when you are applying for jobs. You might be turned down 10 times, but on the 11th try, the job is yours. M: I suppose so. 18-20【原文】Hello, and welcome to Sounds of the Airwaves. First released in 1970, the last song we played was Let It Be by the Beatles. Written by English musician Paul McCartney, the song was inspired by a dream he had of his mother, who sadly died when he was just fourteen. In the dream, she tried to make Paul feel better by saying everything would be okay, and just “let it be”. He woke up, wrote the song, and it went to number one in countries all over the world!
