In early February 2026, ByteDance (字节跳动) launched its newest AI video model, Seedance 2.0. This amazing technology soon drew attention from all over the world. People praise it for its strong abilities, and it has become one of the most talked-about tech topics this year.
What makes Seedance 2.0 so special? Well, it can make both videos and matching sounds at the same time, and the results are very natural. Its biggest advantage is multi-lens (多视角) storytelling. If you give it a short text or just one picture, it can create connected scenes. What’s more, it keeps the characters, lighting and style the same throughout the video. The model also supports 2K resolution (分辨率) and can take different kinds of inputs (输入), which makes making videos much easier and faster.
When we compare Seedance 2.0 with other similar technologies like OpenAI’s Sora, it does much better in both speed and video quality. Industry experts say it is a useful tool for creators, not something that will take their place. It helps many fields develop, such as media, short plays and digital content creation.
But Seedance 2.0’s launch also caused big ethical debates (辩论) right away. A serious worry appeared when tests showed that this model could make real-looking videos—even with matching voices—just from a photo. This made people worry a lot about identity theft (身份盗用) and privacy (隐私) problems. Because of this, ByteDance quickly stopped using this special function. Besides these ethical problems, the technology still has some technical issues. For example, sometimes the movements in the videos are not natural.
Seedance 2.0 is an important step forward in AI video development. It shows how fast the AI video field is developing and how China is becoming more important in global AI innovation (创新). At the same time, it makes us think about a very important question: how can we use such powerful technology safely and responsibly?

The next big change in AI will not be a new app—it will be a new workforce. The first wave of AI worked inside computers. It could write, translate, summarize and communicate. It changed how people worked with information and made digital work faster.
But a new chapter is now opening—one that moves intelligence from software into the real world. Physical AI does not just give answers. It can understand its surroundings and respond physically. It powers robots, self-driving systems, smart machines and city infrastructure (基础设施). If early AI changed how we worked with information, Physical AI will change how we make things, move things, build things and take care of things.
In this change, Shenzhen—powered by the strength of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area—holds important advantages. The city brings together hardware, production, software, supply chain, and new companies in one connected system, which makes it easy to turn ideas into products. New versions can be made quickly, and there are plenty of places to test them.
These are exactly what Physical AI needs. Unlike digital AI, which is mainly about algorithms (算法), Physical AI needs a deep connection between models, sensors, parts, chips, production, and—most importantly—real-world testing.
However, just putting these parts together is not enough. The success of Physical AI depends on whether it works well in real life—in other words, whether robots are affordable, reliable and safe when doing actual tasks. Shenzhen offers many different real-world environments—from factories to smart city projects—where intelligent systems can learn, grow and improve. This means deployment (投入使用) itself becomes a learning process: real use creates data, data improves performance, and better performance leads to more use.
This creates a powerful cycle that rewards places able to turn research into products quickly—and in Shenzhen, robotics companies are already moving from test models to real-world products.
【新考法】9.How does the writer introduce Physical AI?
A.By telling a story about its invention.
B.By explaining its development in China.
C.By comparing it to the first wave of AI.
D.By listing its main functions and features.
10.What advantage does Shenzhen have for developing Physical AI?
A.It has the largest number of software developers in China.
B.It connects everything to turn ideas into products fast.
C.It was the first city to use Physical AI in public spaces.
D.It offers the lowest cost of robotic labor in the world.
11.What does the writer mean by saying “deployment itself becomes a learning process”?
A.Robots improve when tested in real-world environments.
B.Shenzhen has the most advanced AI learning systems.
C.Learning systems are needed to control robots.
D.Deployment is more important than research.
12.What’s the best title for the passage?
A.The History of Artificial Intelligence
B.The Difference Between AI and Robots
C.How Shenzhen Became a Technology Centre
D.Physical AI: From Software to the Real World

A【新视角·凡事皆有两面性】
AI: A Double-Edged Sword
Artificial Intelligence, or AI for short, is becoming more and more common in our lives. It’s like giving machines a kind of “brain” to do things that usually need human thinking.
1 In hospitals, AI can help doctors. It can look at X-rays and other test results to find out if a person is sick. For example, it can tell if there is a problem in a person’s body earlier than before. In our daily travel, self-driving cars are coming. These cars use AI to drive themselves. They can make our roads safer because they don’t get tired or make mistakes like people do sometimes. 2 And when we shop online or need help, there are chatbots. These chatbots can talk to us and answer our questions anytime.
But AI also has some bad sides. One problem is that it might take away some jobs. If machines can do a job better and faster, some people might lose their jobs. 3 Sometimes, the decisions made by AI might not be fair to everyone.
To make AI better, we need to make some rules. 4 Also, we should teach people new skills so that they can still find good jobs even if some jobs are taken by AI.
AI can be very good for us, but we have to be careful. If we can solve the problems it brings, we can enjoy the benefits it offers and make our world a better place.
A.And it might also know too much about our personal things.
B.Another problem is about being fair and respecting privacy.
C.They might cut down on traffic accidents and make travel quicker.
D.We can see AI in many places.
E.These rules can tell people how to make and use AI in a good way.
B【新情境】
Although AI can bring people comfort, it still cannot match the full abilities of a human therapist (心理治疗师).
5 They share feelings with the chatbot (聊天机器人) and get warm advice. This is called“AI therapy (疗愈)”, which is becoming popular online. But can robots really replace human therapists?
Around the world, 45 percent of people who needed mental (心理的) health care in 2024 did not get it because it was too expensive or there weren’t enough doctors, according to Huntington Psychological Services. 6 “If people can find some support and ideas by talking to ChatGPT or chatbot Claude, then I think that’s wonderful,” Lowd told Newsweek. Li Yong,a doctor at the Jiangsu Province Hospital, agreed with Lowd, saying that AI meets people’s needs for emotional (情绪上的) support to a point.
However, AI has its limits(局限性). Human therapists understand feelings deeply through face-to-face talks and create personalized treatment (个性化治疗) plans—something robots can’t fully copy. Another problem is safety. AI might act like a therapist without proper training or rules. 7
Experts believe the key to safe AI therapy is strict government control. For example, Wysa, an AI mental health app, follows strict medical standards in the UK. 8 While AI offers quick help, human connection remains irreplaceable (不可替代的) for serious emotional needs.
A.It can’t be as responsible as human therapists.
B.As AI becomes part of daily life, finding a balance between its benefits and risks is important.
C.Daniel Lowd, an associate (副的) professor at the University of Oregon, believes AI could help fill this gap (缺口).
D.From friendships to work stress, more Chinese people are now using AI tools like DeepSeek to talk about their problems.
E.I told the chatbot about my recent trouble at work and it replied with some useful suggestions to relieve stress.

The 2026 Spring Festival Gala opened with a beautiful scene: thousands of virtual horses ran across the stage. 1 (they) bodies were covered with beautiful patterns of Miao silver and Qiang embroidery (刺绣) . This was made 2 (impossible) by AR technology.
At the center of the show were the “Six Steeds” from Xu Beihong’s famous painting. 3 (use) AI, the horses were “digitally resurrected (数字重生)” . The AI system could even follow the singers’ movements and change the background pictures in real time. “We wanted to keep the 4 (beautiful) of Chinese painting while giving it a modern feel,” the director said.
The dance Ancient Rhythms of the Silk Road was also 5 (amaze) . It used flying vehicles 6 moved in the sky together with human dancers. Chang Shana, 7 95-year-old Dunhuang expert, helped with the performance. She made sure the colors on the 8 (dance) clothes matched the real colors in the thousand-year-old cave murals (壁画) .
However, the gala was not just about showing off technology. The show Celebrating the Flower Deities used AI 9 (show) the twelve flower spirits of the Chinese calendar. As performers acted out each month, beautiful poetry appeared on the screen. This helped young people connect with old traditions 10 a fun way.

For more than a month, the world has been very excited about a new AI model called DeepSeek-R1. The company behind it 11 (call) DeepSeek, a business based in Hangzhou, Zhejiang.
The new AI first appeared 12 Jan 20. In just one week, it beat OpenAI’s ChatGPT and 13 (become) the number one free application (应用) in the App Store. What is so special about it?
According to DeepSeek, 14 new AI model is as good at difficult activities like math as other big-time models. But it needs much less computing power (算力) to do that. It is also 15 (cheap) of its kind and took only about 5.57 million US dollars (40.58 million yuan) to make. That is way less than the hundreds of millions or even billions that US businesses have to spend on making similar AI 16 (model), said Marc Andreessen, a technology expert in the US.
The achievement was largely because of an idea the scientists had while they trained it. Instead of using the traditional ways, DeepSeek 17 (main) uses Reinforcement Learning (RL, 强化学习). It helps AI learn by working out the right way to do things on 18 (it) own to get points. This makes R1 better at reasoning and solving hard problems.
What’s more, DeepSeek-R1 is open-source (开源的). Everyone is free to get a copy of its code (代码). They can also change the code 19 (meet) their own needs. Being open-source is very important for sharing knowledge 20 making technology better for everyone, said Liang Wenfeng, who set up DeepSeek.

Do you know AI? It seems that everyone is talking about AI these days. AI makes machines, such as computers or robots, seem smart.
Some AI tools like Siri and Alexa can answer questions and do simple jobs, like turning the TV on and off. Some smarter AI tools, like Copilot and ChatGPT, can even talk like humans.
AI can help with homework, but first you should make sure your school says it is OK. You can ask an AI tool for information on a subject, like asking about Mars (火星) for your science homework. But remember you should do your work by yourself. Don’t just copy what AI says. Use your own words.
AI can be like a teacher. If you don’t understand a maths problem, an AI tool can tell you how to solve it and show you examples. If you can’t spell a word, an AI tool can spell it for you. It is a fun way to learn.
But AI is not always reliable. AI is very smart , but sometimes it might make mistakes. So, always check its information sources (来源) to make sure it is right. AI is a great tool to help you learn, but you should ask for help from teachers or parents to use it in the right way.
1.What simple jobs can some AI tools such as Siri and Alexa do?
2.Before using AI to help with homework, what should you make sure first?
3.Who should you ask for help from to use AI in the right way when learning?
4.Do you think AI technology is useful? Why? Write 30 words or more.

二、阅读还原

Liu Jichen, 23, a student from Tsinghua University, has developed a WeChat (微信) mini-programme called Clear Your Plate. After a meal, users can open the mini-programme and take a picture of their empty plates. Once the picture is recognized (识别) by the AI (人工智能), users can collect points and use them to buy gifts or charity meals which will be donated to children in poor areas.
Liu and his team launched (发起) the “Clear Your Plate” campaign (行动) in November for the fifth year. Over 1,017 universities all over the country joined in it.
The one-month campaign attracted almost 1.6 million participants (参与者) and reduced food waste by 862 tons and carbon emissions (碳排放) by 3,337 tons, China Youth Daily reported.
“Technological innovation (科技创新) is a good way to reduce food waste,” Liu thought. He organized a team of 20 members to work on the project at the end of 2019. AI will make us ________
AI has become very common in our daily life.
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
【答案】例文
AI will make us rethink ourselves
AI has become very common in our daily life. It’s changing our lives fast, and I think it will make us think again about who we are.
First, AI can do many things like humans, such as solving math problems or creating art. This makes us wonder: What makes humans special? Maybe it’s our feelings, dreams or ability to care for others. Also, AI helps us see our weaknesses. If a machine answers a question faster, we might work harder to learn better.
In the end, AI can’t replace us. It’s like a mirror that helps us understand ourselves more. Let’s use AI to grow, not to fear!
