This quotation from Jonathan Lockwood Huie tells us that
real friends can give us strength and hope when we are in tro u-
ble.We need such friends who can help us out instead of letting
us down.Once I failed again and again in my math and lost in-
terest in it, it was my best friend who encouraged me not to give
up and offered help in time. With his kind and selfless help, I
gradually caught up with others.
So I say we need friends but what we need most is a friend
that can enrich our life.

[语篇解读]本文是一篇说明文。主要围绕人类道德规范的
起源进行讨论,介绍了早期人类道德准则的形成过程及其如何
根植于人类基本需求及共同的社会学习和问题解决机制中。
1.C [推理判断题。根据第一段“Here, norms(规范) were
unwritten and rarely expressed clearly, but were well under-
stood and taken to heart. Dishonest and violent behaviours
were disapproved of; leadership, marriage and interactions
with other groups were loosely governed by traditions. Con-
flict was often resolved in musical battles. Because arguing
angrily leads to chaos, it was strongly discouraged. With life
in the unforgiving Northern Canada being so demanding, the
Inuit's practical approach to morality made good sense.(在这

However, it's of significance for us to protect wild animals
because they are not only essential part of the living environ-
ment where humans live in, but also important natural re
sources.
Therefore, it's high time that immediate action should be
taken to workout the issue. On the one hand, our government
should make laws and regulations to protect them. On the other
hand, nature reserves should be set up to make sure they have a
safe habitat. The last but not least, the public awareness of
protecting the wild animals should be further improved.

A Study Tour to the Sunshine Eco-Farm
Last weekend, our class had a study tour to the Sunshine
Eco-Farm, eager to learn about sustainable agriculture and fos-
ter a deeper understanding of environmental protection.
The day began with a brief introduction to the farm, fol
lowed by a hands-on experience in planting vegetables and feed-
ing cows. We also learned how to turn food and animal waste
into nutrient-rich soil. After a hearty lunch entirely sourced
from the farm, we visited the solar-powered greenhouses,
where we saw various crops growing without chemical fertil iz
ers.
This experience was both exciting and enriching. I was
thrilled to see firsthand how technology can be applied in agri-
culture, and it fueled my passion for protecting our environment
as well.
