The Internet is a great tool for teenagers. We can use it to learn knowledge, communicate with friends, and look for information. However, using the Internet also has some risks. How to use the Internet in a healthy and safe way is an important lesson for every student.
First, we should check the truth of online information. Not all information on the Internet is true. Some people may post false news to get attention. Before we believe or share a piece of news, we should check it on official websites. Second, we need to protect our personal information. We should never tell strangers our real name, address, phone number or school name online. These pieces of information may be used by bad people to cheat us. Third, we should control our screen time. Spending too much time on the Internet is bad for our eyes and study. It’s better to set a time limit, such as one hour a day, for using the Internet after school.
Last month, our school held an “Internet Safety Week”. We had lectures, watched videos and took part in a quiz about online safety. After the activities, all students said they learned a lot. “I used to share every photo of my life online. Now I know I should be more careful,” said Li Mei, a Grade 8 student.
The Internet is like a double-edged sword (双刃剑). If we use it well, it will help us grow. If not, it will bring us trouble.
16.What does the writer think of the Internet for teenagers?
A.It is only a great tool for learning. B.It has both advantages and disadvantages.
C.It is too dangerous for teenagers to use. D.It is the best way to communicate with friends.
17.What should we do before believing online information?
A.Share it with our friends at once. B.Post it on our own social media.
C.Check it on official websites. D.Ask strangers for their opinions.
18.Which of the following is NOT a way to protect ourselves online?
A.Keeping our personal information secret. B.Setting a time limit for using the Internet.
C.Believing all the news we see online. D.Taking part in online safety activities.
19.What activity did the school hold last month?
A.A school farm project. B.An Internet Safety Week.
C.A lecture about growing vegetables. D.A quiz about environmental protection.
20.How is the passage organized?
A.①/②③/④ B.①②/③/④ C.①/②/③④ D.①②③/④

The research involved five dogs. Researchers firstly taught the dogs the names of 12 new toys. After a month, researchers tested the dogs to see if they could remember the names. 22
For the new study, each owner took the toys out of hiding. Then they put them on the floor with some other toys. What makes you happy? Maybe it’s spending time with friends, finding a new book, or just going for a walk on a warm, sunny day. Like flowers in a garden, happiness comes in all forms. It doesn’t look the same for everyone.
Sports can bring people happiness. In ancient China, cuju was one of the most popular sports that was similar to modern football. Before cuju became a popular sport, it was a common game among soldiers. It is said that Emperor Taizong of Song could use all parts of his body to keep the ball in the air “all day without falling”.
Most people know that books are a window to a world of learning and wisdom. The act of reading itself brings joy. The poet (诗人) once expressed his feelings towards what the joy of reading was like: It’s like the lovely green spring grass by the window; it’s like playing the guqin in the gentle summer wind; _____①_____; it’s like colorful flowers under the winter snow. The joy of reading is endless. It makes every season a perfect time to read.
Lei Feng was a soldier. He always saw the happiness of others as his own. Once, on a long train journey, he helped to sweep floors, cleaned windows, found seats for the elderly and helped people with heavy bags. In his diary, Lei Feng wrote, “Working a bit harder and doing more good deeds for people is my greatest joy and happiness.”
Some people can always find endless interest and happiness in everyday life. They found great happiness walking in food markets. Live chickens and ducks, juicy fruits, and fresh vegetables in a lively and crowded place, these all make them feel the joy of living.
Happiness means different things to different people. You may find your own happiness in many ways. Most importantly, remember that happiness comes and goes, and it’s OK to be unhappy sometimes.
36.根据短文内容,完成思维导图,每空不超过2个词。(5分)

Hello. I’m Lia-Lia Wang. I’m from London, and I’m in middle school right now. I’m really excited because tomorrow my family are going on a very special trip. We’re going to visit my dad’s home town...in Anhui Province, China!
After a long flight, we finally arrived.
Early the next morning I woke up, full of excitement. We were going to Huangshan Mountain! On the bus journey to Huangshan, Dad told me a lot about the mountain.
Climbing up Huangshan is very tiring, but the mountain is so beautiful. As you climb, you can see pine trees (松树) everywhere, in many different shapes and sizes. Finally, we reached the famous Guest-Greeting Pine. Its branch (枝条) are like an arm in a welcoming gesture. It sounds silly, but I did feel like the tree was greeting me and saying, “Welcome back, Lia!”
To see the famous Huangshan sunrise, we had to stay on the mountain for a night. We woke up really early and found a good place to see the sunrise. We sat for ages, waiting. When the orange-red light of the sun finally appeared in the sky, I held my breath. Under the clear, deep blue sky was a sea of white, rolling (翻涌的) clouds. The dark green peaks disappeared in the “waves” of the clouds, which were slowly turning golden from the distant sunlight. I will never forget this view.
Next, we made our way to my grandparents’ home. They live in a small village called Hongcun right at the foot of Huangshan Mountain. Even before we reached the village, we saw my grandparents waiting there to greet us. Although we video chat every week, I was so happy to see them in person. I ran up and gave them a big hug. I looked at the South Lake beside us. The water reflected (倒映) the hills and the trees around it. ①The old houses with white walls and black tiles (砖) really made the village look like a traditional Chinese painting!
We tried many dishes in Hongcun. When I heard that we would try something called “hairy tofu”, I was a little bit scared! But Grandma told me that the “hair” on the tofu is actually a fungus (真菌). The tofu is known as “the first wonder of Anhui”, so I must try it! I took a piece with a bamboo stick, closed my eyes and took a bite. Surprisingly, it was soft, salty and spicy...I loved it! ②I had another...and then another...I couldn’t stop!
On our last night of the trip, we sat around my grandparents’ table. I found it hard to smile. I loved the whole trip and had many unforgettable experiences, but I couldn’t help but feel a little sad.
Even though this trip was so short, I felt a really strong connection to this place. I loved everything: the food, the scenery, the culture...and especially the people.
My grandpa asked why I looked so sad, so I told him how I felt. He stood up and went into the kitchen. He said he had a dish just for me. My eyes lit up when I saw the big bowl of fried hairy tofu. He smiled at me and sat back down.
“Just don’t forget about us, and come back whenever you can. Your roots are here.”
I smiled and nodded. But I couldn’t speak, because my mouth was full of the taste of my home town.

To live a wise digital life, we should follow some rules. Set a 30-minute limit for daily phone use after study, avoid using phones during meals or family talks, and use digital tools mainly for learning instead of playing games.

Some dogs have so many toys that it can be difficult for their owners to follow them. There is something special about dogs that might surprise you. According to research, some of our four-legged friends have the ability to remember the names of their toys. 21
The research involved five dogs. Researchers firstly taught the dogs the names of 12 new toys. After a month, researchers tested the dogs to see if they could remember the names. 22
For the new study, each owner took the toys out of hiding. Then they put them on the floor with some other toys. The researchers watched with cameras while the owners said the names of the earlier hidden toys and asked the dogs to get them. 23 Some of the dogs could get the right toy about 60% of the time. If the dogs forgot the names of their toys, researchers would believe that they could make the right choices 20.4% of the time—clearly by chance. 24 Lead researcher Shany Dror told reporters that the study showed that the dogs kept the names of their toys in their two-year memory.
The research team said, “While some dogs can learn the names of objects, it still isn’t clear why others cannot.” Dror said these dogs often had kind owners. 25 “If you spend more time with your dog, you will get more back from your kindness,” she said.
A.They spent a lot of time with them.
B.They are too busy to stay with their dogs.
C.The owners then put the toys away for two years.
