All children under age 19. 19. How often will the money be given? A. Once in their life. B. Three times a year. C. Twice a month. 20. Where did some people think the money will be according to the talk? A. In savings accounts. B. In computer stores. C. In shopping malls. C 19. A 20. W: Japanese children may soon have smiles on their faces and money in their pockets. Japan’s government is planning to give $880 to all children under the age of 19. Around 20 million children, from newborns to 18-year-olds, will receive the one-time payment. The new plan is part of an election promise from Japan’s newly-elected Prime Minister. He promised to help “people in need”, such as part-time workers and families with small children. Officials say the money will be given without considering the financial situation of a child’s family. All children in any one family will receive the money. The plan is expected to cost around $17.6 billion. However, many people have doubts about spending so much money when Japan has so much debt. The country’s debt is currently more than twice the size of its economy. Also, some people said most of those who received it would not go out to buy high-cost items, eat in restaurants or take holidays in Japan. It is predicted that much of the money will end up in savings accounts. However, Yuki Ono, a mother of three, welcomed the plan. She said her children would be able to buy new computers. A If you would like to learn more about how to better communicate your needs and listen to your inner voice, check out this book list given by Ben and Caitlin! You can’t predict moods, interests or desires. For teens learning the ins and outs of relationships for the first time, disagreements, fights and breakups can be ruinous. But what if your teen’s best friend wasn’t actually human? It may seem far-fetched, but it’s not. A new report from Common Sense Media says that 72 percent of teens surveyed have used AI companions, and 33 percent have relationships or friendships with these chatbots. The language that AI companions use, the responses they make, and the empathy they exude (流露) can make a user feel as though they truly understand and sympathize. These chatbots can make someone feel liked or even loved. They are programmed to help users feel like they’ve made a real connection. This may be puzzling to some parents, but if your child is navigating the complex worlds of technology, social media and artificial intelligence, the likelihood that they will be curious about an AI companion is pretty high. Here are some things that you must know. You might think your kid won’t get attached and that they will know the chatbots are an algorithm (算法) designed to give immediate responses based on the text inputs they receive, which is not real. But a fascinating Stanford University study of students who use the app Replika found that 81 percent considered their AI companion has “intelligence”, and 90 percent thought it “human-like”. On the plus side, these companions are sometimes touted (吹捧) for their supportiveness and promotion of mental health; the Stanford study even found that 3 percent of users felt their Replika had directly helped them avoid suicide. If you’re a teenager who is isolated or struggling to make friends, an AI companion can provide much-needed companionship. They may offer practice when it comes to building conversational and social skills. Chatbots can offer helpful information and tips. But are they safe? A Florida mother has accused the company that owns Character. AI, claiming the chatbot encouraged her 14-year-old son to attempt suicide. Another suit filed in 2024 claims that the same chatbot encourages self-harm in teens and violence towards parents who try to set limits on how often kids use the app. Then there’s privacy: AI companions are a “privacy horror”, with data trackers that may encourage negative or harmful behaviors. Given what we know about teens, screens and mental health, online influences are sometimes powerful, largely unavoidable, and potentially life-changing for children and families. 28. What motivates teenagers to use AI companions? A. To stay away from all conflicts in real relationships. B. To attain the feeling of being truly comprehended. C. To predict a robot’s emotions, interests and desires. D. To explore how AI can take the place of human friends. 29. What did the Stanford University study find? A. Most teens tended to develop an attachment to AI companions. B. Replika was widely used by teens for emotional support. C. Most teens fully knew AI companions were related to algorithms. D. AI companions could effectively improve teens’ social skills. 30. What is the author’s attitude towards AI companions? A. Negative. B. Indifferent. C. Objective. D. Skeptical. 31. Which of the following would be the best title for the text? A. The Hidden Dangers of AI Companions for Teens. B. Teen Relationship: A Hard Nut to Crack. C. Approaches to Helping Teens Use AI Companions Safer. D. AI Companions: Teens’ Alternatives to Real Relationships. B 29. A 30. C 31. 根据第二段“The language that AI companions use, the responses they make, and the empathy they exude (流露) can make a user feel as though they truly understand and sympathize. These chatbots can make someone feel liked or even loved. They are programmed to help users feel like they’ve made a real connection. (AI伴侣使用的语言、做出的回应以及流露出的同理心,会让用户觉得他们真正被理解和同情。这些聊天机器人能让人感到被喜欢甚至被爱。它们被编程来让用户觉得他们建立了真正的联系)”可知,青少年使用AI伴侣是为了获得被真正理解的感觉。故选B项。 【29题详解】 细节理解题。根据第三段“But a fascinating Stanford University study of students who use the app Replika found that 81 percent considered their AI companion has “intelligence”, and 90 percent thought it “human-like”. (但斯坦福大学一项针对使用Replika应用程序的学生的有趣研究发现,81%的学生认为他们的AI伴侣具有“智能”,90%的学生认为它“像人类”)”可知,大多数青少年因将AI 同伴视为“有智力、类人”而倾向于产生依恋。故选A项。 根据第四段“On the plus side, these companions are sometimes touted (吹捧) for their supportiveness and promotion of mental health; (从积极的一面来看,这些伴侣有时因其支持性和促进心理健康而受到吹捧)”以及第五段“A Florida mother has accused the company that owns Character.AI, claiming the chatbot encouraged her 14-year-old son to attempt suicide. D As long as I can remember having a phone in my hand, I’ve been a terrible replier. When a new group chat is created, the members will come to laugh at my inability to respond to a simple question in a matter of hours. I’m not a horrible replier in all aspects of my life. In fact, I pride myself on my swift response time when it comes to work emails, my manager and my mum. “Call me instead,” I tell my friends. “I’m a much better caller.” They know if it’s urgent and they need me, I’ll pick up and always be there. But if I read a message and I categorize it as non-urgent, then it’s a different story. When it comes to the group chats, the conversations move so rapidly that if I’m not present for five minutes, I’ve suddenly missed 67 messages concerning daily matters. By the time I’ve responded to their messages, many have already messaged back, and then I mentally file their non-urgent messages away in the non-urgent cabinet (柜) again, and thus the problematic cycle continues — the unavoidable iMessage quicksand (流沙). I want to stress I do love my friends and I am grateful to be included in all of the group chats. I simply find it a headache to keep up with the never-ending stream of messages that we’re flooded with throughout the day. In these moments, my friend’s messages go unanswered and I sometimes feel like throwing my phone into a lake, lying on the floor and staring at a wall. Alas, I recently asked my friend Tully how she felt about my texting habits. She’s the friend you can always rely on to give you the non-sugar-coated truth. “You take three to five business days to respond if we’re lucky,” she tells me. Ouch, but probably not wrong. “To be fair,” she adds, “when we do eventually get an answer out of you — you are always down for the plans, you always show up when we need you, you never cancel and you’re usually the one driving 40 minutes across town to see us southside so… we can handle the group chat silence in return for that kind of friendship.” 32. What will happen if a friend sends the author a message in a group chat? A. The author will respond very soon. B. The author will call her friend back. C. It might be deleted and put into the cabinet. D. It might be answered in several hours or even days. 33. What is the basis for the author’s decision on response time to a message? A. The quality of friendship. B. The degree of urgency. C. Random choice. D. Time order. 34. What does the author focus on in the third and fourth paragraphs? A. The value of interpersonal relationship. B. The importance of being in a group chat. C. Problems with group chat messages. D. Methods of using group chats in our life. 35. Which of the following can best describe the author? A. Creative. B. Irresponsible. C. Lazy. D. Trustworthy. D 33. B 34. C 35. 根据第一段中“When a new group chat is created, the members will come to laugh at my inability to respond to a simple question in a matter of hours. (当创建一个新的群聊时,成员们会嘲笑我不能在几个小时内回复一个简单的问题)”和最后一段中““You take three to five business days to respond if we’re lucky,” she tells me. (‘如果幸运的话,你需要三到五个工作日才能回复,’她告诉我)”可知,当朋友在群聊里给作者发消息时,可能会在几个小时甚至几天后才回复。故选D项。 【33题详解】 细节理解题。根据第二段中“They know if it’s urgent and they need me, I’ll pick up and always be there. But if I read a message and I categorize it as non-urgent, then it’s a different story. (他们知道如果有紧急情况需要我,我会接电话,永远在那里。但如果我读到一条信息,并将其归类为非紧急信息,那么情况就不同了)”可知,作者决定对消息的回应时间是根据消息的紧急程度。故选B项。 【34题详解】 主旨大意题。根据第三段中“When it comes to the group chats, the conversations move so rapidly that if I’m not present for five minutes, I’ve suddenly missed 67 messages concerning daily matters. (在群聊的时候,对话进行得如此之快,以至于如果我缺席五分钟,我就会突然错过67条与日常事务有关的信息)”和第四段中“I simply find it a headache to keep up with the never-ending stream of messages that we’re flooded with throughout the day. In these moments, my friend’s messages go unanswered and I sometimes feel like throwing my phone into a lake, lying on the floor and staring at a wall. (我只是觉得要跟上我们整天被淹没的没完没了的信息流是件令人头疼的事。在这些时刻,我朋友的信息无人回复,有时我想把手机扔进湖里,躺在地板上盯着墙看)”可知,第三段主要描述了群聊消息更新太快,第四段主要表明作者对源源不断的消息感到头疼,都是在说明群聊消息带来的问题。故选C项。 【35题详解】 推理判断题。根据第二段中“I’m not a horrible replier in all aspects of my life. In fact, I pride myself on my swift response time when it comes to work emails, my manager and my mum. (在生活的各个方面,我都不是一个糟糕的回复者。事实上,当涉及到工作邮件、我的经理和我的妈妈时,我对自己的快速回复感到自豪)”和最后一段中““To be fair,” she adds, “when we do eventually get an answer out of you — you are always down for the plans, you always show up when we need you, you never cancel and you’re usually the one driving 40 minutes across town to see us southside so… we can handle the group chat silence in return for that kind of friendship.” It was early August, the time right before I would find out where I would live and with whom. I kept wondering for days about what my roommate would be like. ___36___ What if we had nothing in common? With these thoughts, I grew more anxious. A week into August, the email arrived! I was excited and relieved. But I grew hesitant. Now that I knew who my roommate was, should I message her? ___37___ However, with a push from my friends, I chose to send her a message. It was what started the wonderful friendship between my roommate and me. Living with a roommate for the first time was definitely a new challenge. But the key things I took away from the experience are: ___38___ This is really important to avoid disrespecting or hurting the other person down the road. My roommate and I were able to agree on all of our rules, such as sleeping schedules and cleanup duties. This was something that really allowed us to understand each other’s habits and to respect each other’s space. Make clear what method of communication you prefer when discussing problems. It was beneficial to discuss our preferred ways of addressing issues, especially when something one of us did bothered the other. My roommate and I both preferred a quick text before we talked to let each other know what was on our respective minds. ___39___ Be respectful. Your roommate may come from a very different background. There may be many things that you agree on. ___40___ This is where respect comes in. Share your opinions but also respect the other’s views. A. Would we get along? B. Be willing to share and learn. C. What would my dorm be like? D. At first I decided I didn’t want to. E. Set out rules and expectations from the start. F. Then we will set aside time to talk about it in person. G. However, there are probably many things that you’ll have different views about. A 37. D 38. E 39. F 40. 【36题详解】 根据上文“I kept wondering for days about what my roommate would be like. (我连续几天都在想我的室友会是什么样的人)”及下文“What if we had nothing in common? (如果我们没有共同之处怎么办?)”可知,此处围绕对室友关系的担忧展开。A选项“Would we get along? (我们会相处融洽吗?)”以疑问句形式直接表达对相处情况的疑虑,与下文“没有共同之处”的担忧形成并列,共同体现作者的焦虑情绪。故选A项。 【37题详解】 根据上文“Now that I knew who my roommate was, should I message her? (现在我知道了室友是谁,我应该给她发消息吗?)”及下文“However, with a push from my friends, I chose to send her a message. (然而,在朋友的鼓励下,我选择给她发了一条消息)”可知,此处存在“是否发消息”的心理转折。D选项“At first I decided I didn’t want to. (起初我决定不想这么做)”中的“At first”与下文“However”形成时间与逻辑上的对比,说明作者从“不想发消息”到“发送消息”的转变过程,衔接自然。故选D项。 【38题详解】 根据下文“This is really important to avoid disrespecting or hurting the other person down the road. My roommate and I were able to agree on all of our rules, such as sleeping schedules and cleanup duties. (这对于避免日后不尊重或伤害对方非常重要。我和室友能够就所有规则达成一致,比如作息时间和清洁职责)”可知,此段核心为“制定规则”。E选项“Set out rules and expectations from the start. (从一开始就制定规则和期望)”中的“rules”与下文“agree on all of our rules”原词复现,“from the start”强调提前制定的重要性,概括段落主旨。故选E项。 【39题详解】 根据上文“My roommate and I both preferred a quick text before we talked to let each other know what was on our respective minds. (我和室友都倾向于在交谈前先发一条简短的短信,让对方知道各自的想法)”可知,此处描述沟通前的准备步骤。F选项“Then we will set aside time to talk about it in person. (然后我们会留出时间当面讨论)”中的“Then”承接上文“先发短信”的步骤,“in person”补充后续“当面沟通”的环节,完整呈现“短信预沟通——当面详谈”的流程。故选F项。 【40题详解】 根据上文“There may be many things that you agree on. (可能有很多你们意见一致的事情)”及下文“This is where respect comes in. Share your opinions but also respect the other’s views. (这就是需要尊重的地方。分享你的观点,但也要尊重对方的观点)”可知,此处需转折引出“意见分歧”的情况。G选项“However, there are probably many things that you’ll have different views about. (然而,可能有很多事情你们会有不同的看法)”中的“However”与上文“agree on”形成对比,“different views”衔接下文“respect the other’s views”,逻辑上从“共识”转向“分歧”,突出尊重的必要性。故选G项。 第三部分 语言运用(共30分) 第一节(每小题1分,满分15分) 阅读下面短文,从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。 “Where are we going, Dad?” Helen asked when putting her dress on. Every morning, she scattered (抛撒) seeds in her backyard and whispered, “Good morning, my little friends!” To her, their songs sounded like cheerful laughter, and she often laughed along with them. However, her neighbor, Mr. Thompson, didn’t share her joy. He was constantly annoyed by the birds that flew into his yard. “They’re too noisy!” he complained. “And they make such a mess in MY yard!” His sharp words made Jane feel quite uneasy, yet she refused to give up on her feathered friends. She firmly believed that every small creature deserved care. One morning, Jane discovered a small sparrow (麻雀) shaking under the fence. One of its wings looked bent at a painful angle. Filled with worry, Jane carefully picked it up and named it Pip. She placed him in a small, warm basket in a safe corner right next to the fence. A week passed. Pip was getting better but still unable to fly. One afternoon, while Jane was feeding Pip by the fence, Mr. Thompson shouted from his side, “You’re just asking for trouble!” Jane gently lifted Pip in her hands so Mr. Thompson could see him through the gaps in the fence. “Look, Mr. Thompson. Pip’s wing is hurt.” Mr. Thompson cast an impatient glance at the tiny creature. For a moment, his frown (皱眉) softened. “That wing...” he said softly, almost to himself. Just then, Jane’s mother called her from the driveway, saying they were leaving for a family visit. Jane waved a quick goodbye to Pip and hurried to the car. However, on their way home, a heavy storm broke out. Watching the trees shaking in the strong wind, Jane felt very worried about Pip, who was left all alone in the yard. The moment they pulled into the driveway, she dashed toward the backyard, calling Pip’s name. To her horror, the basket was empty. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ At this moment, Mr. Thompson appeared with Pip. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】 To her horror, the basket was empty. Jane’s heart sank as she frantically searched the yard, her voice trembling with fear as she called Pip’s name. Tears welled up in her eyes as she imagined the worst, fearing that Pip might have been blown away by the storm or hurt by the falling branches. She knelt down, scanning the ground for any sign of the little sparrow, her hands shaking as she picked up twigs and leaves. At this moment, Mr. Thompson appeared with Pip. He held the sparrow gently in his hands, his expression a mix of concern and embarrassment. “I found him hiding under my porch,” he said, his voice softer than usual. “The storm was too strong for him.” Jane rushed over, tears of relief streaming down her face as she took Pip back. She looked up at Mr. Thompson, her eyes shining with gratitude. “Thank you.” she whispered, her heart overflowing with joy and newfound respect for her neighbor. 词汇激活: 行为类 ①颤抖:tremble/shiver ②涌出:well up/spring up ③浏览:scan/look through 情绪类 ①恐惧:fear/dread ②宽慰:relief/comfort 【点睛】【高分句型1】Jane’s heart sank as she frantically searched the yard, her voice trembling with fear as she called Pip’s name.(运用了两个as引导的时间状语从句以及独立主格结构) 【高分句型2】She knelt down, scanning the ground for any sign of the little sparrow, her hands shaking as she picked up twigs and leaves.(运用了现在分词作状语、独立主格结构以及as引导的时间状语从句) 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 2025-2026学年高二第二学期第一次阶段检测 英语试卷 本试卷满分150分,考试时间120分钟。 What is the woman asking the man to do? C Relationships are messy, whether you are an adult with lots of experience or a kid navigating through tough times with a best friend, boyfriend or girlfriend. It was early August, the time right before I would find out where I would live and with whom. _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $第一节听下面五段录音。 Everyone, sleeping Francis, please keep your voice down.
