Passage 1
(2026·上海闵行·一模)
A.Memory B.actually C. at first D.form E. in return
The 1938 play Gas Light and the movie made from it in 1944 show a husband trying to make his wife think she’s crazy, so he can get her family’s jewellery. He makes her believe that what she thinks is real, but it 1 isn’t. For example, the gas-powered lights in their house get dark when he’s not home, but he makes her believe that it’s only her imagination. This movie introduced the word “gaslighting”, which means a kind of abuse (虐待).
In fact, gaslighting can show up in many different ways. A gaslighter may not admit doing things they really did. This can lead the victim (受害者) to believe that they have a poor
1 . They might also say the victim is too weak or that their ideas come from an unreliable source. Gaslighting is thought to be a 2 of psychological (心理的) abuse.
Gaslighting develops gradually. Some gaslighters seem very kind 3 . Then the gaslighter may begin to lie about simple things, slowly increasing the amount of false information. Victims of gaslighting finally feel not safe and begin to doubt themselves.
A.recognize B.helpful C. own D.against E. apologize
Gaslighting is a way of control that makes the victim rely on the gaslighter. Victims may allow the gaslighter to make decisions. They may ask the gaslighter what happened in the past, doubting their 4 thoughts. This lack of confidence also often keeps the victim from leaving the relationship.
As a matter of fact, it can be difficult for victims to 5 gaslighting. Then what can people do? victims can take pictures, keep a secret diary or record voice notes soon after an event happens. Telling someone about the situation is also 6 if that person can keep it a secret.
Signs of this abuse can also show up in the victim’s behavior. They might frequently ask what has happened, or they may even believe that they are going crazy. They may often 7 and, at the same time, try to protect the gaslighter. All the stuff they do shows signs of gaslighting.
Gaslighting may not hurt the body directly, but it can make people feel bad about themselves and prevent people from achieving success. So we must take it seriously.

(2026·上海虹口·一模)Choose the best answer and complete the passage (选择最恰当的选项完成短文)
Kindness is a universal language that requires no translation. It’s the small, thoughtful acts that brighten someone’s day—a smile to a stranger, a helping hand to someone 1 , or a word of comfort to those feeling down. In a world that can feel cold and divided, kindness is the warm light that bridges gaps and connects hearts.
Maybe you helped an elderly person carry groceries, or sent a(n) 2 message to a friend feeling disappointed. Perhaps you chose to listen patiently to someone sharing their troubles, or forgave a mistake without 3 . These acts of kindness, no matter how small, have the power to create ripples of positivity (正能量) that spread far and wide.
Kindness enriches the lives of both the giver and the receiver. It fills our hearts with joy and reminds us of our shared humanity. It doesn’t require wealth or extra effort—just a willingness to 4 others. Sometimes we hesitate to show kindness because we think our actions won’t work, but every small gesture counts. A simple “Are you okay?” to a classmate who looks sad can lift their spirits for hours.
Remember, even the smallest act of kindness can make a big difference. It might not change the whole world overnight, but it can change someone’s world in that moment. Kindness is spreading: when you show care, others are more likely to follow the same. 5 , a single act of kindness can grow into something much larger.
Let your kindness shine brightly, and you’ll light up the world around you. You’ll find that being kind not only makes others happy but also brings happiness to your own life. It teaches us empathy, humility, and the true meaning of connection. In the end, kindness is not 6 a choice—it’s a way of living that enriches every part of our journey.

四、短文填空
(2026·上海普陀·一模)Oh, no! You’ve dropped your phone in water! Don’t worry. I’m going to tell you how to deal with a wet phone.
First, quick action is the k 1 . You must get the phone out of the water as soon as possible. The longer it’s in the water, the more likely it becomes too damaged to repair. So, don’t stand there doing nothing. Just act fast. There’s no time for you to h 2 .
Next, you must turn the phone off straight away to stop water from damaging the electrical circuits (电路). If it was off when it got wet, leave it that way. Don’t turn it on. Of course, you really want to find out if it is still working, but turning it on at this point is the w 3 thing you can do.
Now, wipe off (用……擦去) any water from the outside of the phone, using some paper towels. Then g 4 shake the phone, so that any water inside has a chance to come out. Shaking the phone too hard can push the water further in or spread it to new areas.
After that, you need to dry out the inside of the phone as much as possible. Don’t use a hairdryer to try and dry it quickly—it might seem like a good idea, but too much h 5 will do even more damage to the phone. It needs to dry out nicely and slowly. So, get a box of uncooked rice and put the phone in the middle of the rice. Close the box so that the air can’t get in, and leave it for about 48 hours. Be p 6 ! While your phone’s drying out, don’t keep opening the box to see what’s happening.
After 48 hours, you can take your phone out and try turning it on. You might be lucky and find it is working perfectly! But, be careful!! S 7 a copy of all the important information like photos and messages on your phone immediately because it could stop working at any time.
If these steps don’t work, a professional repair might be your only choice. Anyway, good luck, and take care of your phone!

Passage 1
(2026·上海普陀·一模)It was Tuesday night. On the balcony of my tenth-floor apartment, I looked at the sky with eager eyes, hoping to see a shooting star. “Shooting stars are lucky.” Grandma always says.
“Will I see a shooting star tonight, Grandma?”
“There are too many lights tonight, Judy,” Grandma said,“and I hear dreams calling.” She kissed my hair and put me to bed.
When I woke up the next morning, I smelled buttermilk biscuits. My favourite! “Your shooting stars came for breakfast” Grandma winked. In her hands was a plate of star-shaped biscuits, each with a lovely little tail My eyes went wide, and then they filled with something shining.
Then it was time for school. Before the third floor, the elevator stopped with a loud noise and went dark. My heart pounded so hard that I felt the beating in my ears. Grandma rang the bell for help. Then, in the darkness, she found my cold hand. She began to hum (哼曲子), and soon, my shaky voice joined hers. Grandma’s little song seemed to have magic power.
Before long, our neighbours helped us out. But I didn’t want to go to school any more.
“A stuck elevator doesn’t get to decide your day. Let’s go.” Grandma took my hand and walked out to school, humming our favourite song...
When I got home, Grandma was cooking in the kitchen. I told her about school.
“Sarah found a four-leaf clover. Ben got the last cookie from the cafeteria...Will I see a shooting star tonight?”
“The night isn’t over yet. Go to the balcony and wait.” Grandma smiled.
After dinner, I couldn’t find Grandma anywhere. I went to the balcony alone, still hoping to see a shooting star.
Suddenly, the dark sky was lit up. I nearly shouted out. A shooting star? But then— boom!—a fountain of gold sparks exploded right above me, dancing and falling slowly. Fireworks! Before I could catch my breath, another followed, a shining blue, then a red, painting the quiet night with bright colours.
My heart jumped with joy and wonder. When I turned around, I saw Grandma standing in the doorway, with an empty firework box in her left hand. “Do you like the shooting stars tonight?” She smiled.
At that very moment, I realized: I may not be “lucky” in a traditional way, but I know I AM truly lucky.
1.Where did Judy wait to see a shooting star on Tuesday night?
2.According to Grandma, why couldn’t Judy see a shooting star that night?
3.How did Judy feel when she saw Grandma’s star-shaped buttermilk biscuits?
She felt and .
4.What does the underlined phrase “magic power” refer to?
5.What was Grandma doing when Judy was on the balcony alone?
6.How do you understand the underlined sentence?
Passage 2
(2026·上海奉贤·一模)Slowing down and really looking
In Manchester Art Gallery (曼彻斯特美术馆), there is a small room painted a dark green colour. While the next room, which shows paintings by LS Lowry, is very crowded, this room is quiet. Visitors stay here for a long time, often spending up to fifteen minutes looking at just three paintings.
Louise Thompson is the museum consultant (顾问) who had the idea for this “mindfulness (正念) room”. She says that when people come in, they look nervous and do not want to talk to others. However, after ten or fifteen minutes, their bodies relax and they start talking to the person next to them.
The room is an experiment called “slow looking”. This is the opposite of how many people usually visit museums. Usually, we walk around quickly, trying to see everything, but we do not really see anything. A recent study showed that the average visitor spends less than 30 seconds looking at a painting. If they take a photo of it, they look for even less time.
Thompson was inspired by Professor James O. Pawelski. He encourages museums to help improve the well-being (身心健康) of visitors. He says, “When we look at art slowly, it is not just about the art, it is about us. It gives us a chance to forget our busy lives and think about ourselves.”
Susan McClements, a visitor aged 62, tried the room and said she understood the paintings better—even the ones she did not like. “You see the details, the colours, and how the paint was put on,” she said. “It gives you a completely different way of seeing.”
The mindfulness room is only a short-term project, but Thompson hopes it will change how the gallery treats visitors in the future. She says museums can be tiring places because you walk and read so much. However, if they are designed well, they can be places of deep rest and quiet thought.
1.How many paintings are there in the small, dark green room?
2.How do visitors feel after spending fifteen minutes in the mindfulness room?
3.How long does an average visitor spend looking at a painting?
4.According to Professor James O. Pawelski, why should people look at art slowly?
5.The mindfulness room changed Susan McClements’s way of seeing things, didn’t it?
6.Would you like to spend time in the mindfulness room when visiting the museum? Why or why not?

2.句意:这可能导致受害者相信自己的记忆力很差。根据上文“A gas lighter may not admit doing things they really did.”可知,这种行为会让受害者怀疑自己的记忆。设空处前有“a poor”,所以应填入名词。“Memory”意为“记忆”,是名词,符合语境。故选A。
3.句意:煤气灯效应被认为是心理虐待的一种形式。设空处前为“a”,后为“of psychological abuse”,表示“……的一种”。选项中“form”意为“形式”,构成短语“a form of”,意为“一种……的形式”,符合语境和搭配。故选D。
4.句意:一些煤气灯操纵者起初显得非常友善。设空处位于“seem very kind”之后,所以需要副词或短语作状语。根据下文“Then the gas lighter may begin to lie…”可知,这里描述的是最初阶段。“at first”意为“起初”,符合语境。故选C。

五、任务型阅读

【答案】1.Three. 2.They feel relaxed and start talking to the person next to them. 3.Less than 30 seconds. 4.Because it gives us a chance to forget our busy lives and think about ourselves. 5.Yes, it did. 6.Yes, I’d like to./Yes, I’d love to. Because it can give me a chance to forget my busy life and think about myself. It can also help me understand the paintings better. (答案不唯一,合理即可)

3.根据“A recent study showed that the average visitor spends less than 30 seconds looking at a painting.”可知,平均每个参观者看一幅画的时间不到30秒。故填Less than 30 seconds.
4.根据“He says, ‘When we look at art slowly, it is not just about the art, it is about us. 5.根据“Susan McClements, a visitor aged 62, tried the room and said she understood the paintings better—even the ones she did not like. ‘You see the details, the colours, and how the paint was put on,’ she said. ‘It gives you a completely different way of seeing.’”可知,正念房间改变了苏珊·麦克莱门茨看待事物的方式,故填Yes, it did.
