第二部分 阅读(共两节,满分50分)

阅读下列短文,从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出最佳选项。
A
Going to Disney World is full of stresses: listening to your kids complain, taking care of little ones, waiting in endless lines and walking for miles and miles. But there are ways to make sure you aren’t that family screaming at each other in the middle of Fantasy land.
Plan ahead
Your first and most important decision is which time of the year to visit. Obviously, the summer months are going to be packed. If your family doesn’t deal well with crowds, don’t go then. Opt for nicer weather in the late fall or spring, but beware spring break.
Stay on site
Everyone gets stressed driving in an unfamiliar city, dealing with traffic and trying to find parking. Staying on site eliminates all that. Buses run every 15 to 20 minutes from the resorts to the parks, and some resorts use boats or the monorails. Disney’s Magical Express is a free shuttle that picks you up and takes you to the airport. If you think you’ll spend more than a day at one park, consider booking a resort near it to cut down on travel time.
Familiarize yourself with the rides and shows
Read guide books, websites and talk to friends about which rides and shows are most appropriate for your family. This could help you avoid waiting 30 minutes for a show no one in your family wants to see or taking your four-year-old on a terrifying ride.
Dining plans
Plan your meals long before you go on the trip. Many restaurants, especially meals where you meet the characters, can be booked six months in advance.
Prepare for safety
Discuss safety, stranger danger and the need to not wander off. Take a photo on your cell phone of your kids each day in case they get lost, so you can show people exactly what they look like. I also dress my kids in the same bright colour, so I can scan a crowd and find them quickly.
1 This article is intended for ________.

C. reserve ahead of schedule D. take a photo
3. In order to keep your kids safe, you may ________.
A. follow your kids all the time
B. ask your kids to play in the same place
C. take a photo of your kids on your cell phone
D. dress yourself and your kids the same

Each spring brings a blossom of wildflowers in the ditches by highway along which I travel to work every day.
There is a kind of particular blue flower that always catches my eye. I notice that it blooms only in the morning; the afternoon sun is too warm for it. For approximately two weeks, I see those beautiful flowers every day.
This spring, I started to build a wildflower garden in our yard. I could look through the window in the kitchen to see the flowers while doing the dishes. I often thought that those lovely blue flowers and other wildflowers from the ditch would look more beautiful in the flower bed. Every time I drove past the flowers, I would think, “I’ll stop on my way home and dig some.” But after a while, I would think, “Gee, I don’t want to get my clothes dirty.” ... Whatever the reason is, I never stopped to dig some. My husband even gave me a folding shovel one year in my trunk to inform me of that purpose.
One day on my way home from work, I was saddened to see that the highway department had mowed the grass in the ditches and that the pretty blue flowers were gone. I thought to myself, “Way to go! You have waited too long. You should have dug some when you first saw them blooming that spring.”
A week ago, we were shocked and very sad to learn that my oldest sister-in-law had a terminal brain tumor. She is 20 years older than my husband and unfortunately, because of age and distance, we haven’t been as close as we all hoped. I couldn’t help thinking about the connection between the pretty blue flowers and the relationship between my husband’s sister and us. I do believe that God has given us some time to plant some wonderful memories that will bloom every year for us.
If I see the blue flowers again, I am guaranteed to stop and transplant them to my wildflower garden.

C. Energetic. D. Indifferent.
6. According to the passage, the author may be a(n) ________ person.

B. Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today.
C. What you do not want done to yourself, do not do to others.
D. The gentlemen are speedy as a worker and cautious as a speaker.

The Brazilian scientists were in disbelief after seeing the results. The country with the most freshwater resources in the world had lost 15 percent of its surface water since 1991. There has been slow water loss in the Brazilian-owned part of the Pantanal. The Pantanal is the world’s largest warm-climate wetland. It covers an area of between 140 thousand and 195 thousand square kilometers over three countries. Today, water coverage in the Pantanal is only 25 percent of what it was thirty years ago. And the scientists’ findings are only up through 2020. The next year’s drought has been Brazil’s worst in ninety years.
Evaporation (蒸发) is a part of the natural process that can lessen water resources. This is especially true in areas with low water levels like the Pantanal wetlands. But the scientists believe something else is happening. Experts have warned human activities are affecting the world’s weather patterns. It is causing extreme events to happen more often, such as severe droughts and floods. The cutting and burning of forest and the building of large hydroelectric factories and dams for watering crops all affect natural patterns. This is not just happening in Brazil. It’s happening all over the world.
The researchers found that ongoing drought has already raised energy costs and food prices. It has also dried out crops. And it has increased the risk of wildfire for large parts of forest.
Brazil’s decreasing water resources may also worsen fires that people set each winter to clear land. The fires then burn out of control. Last year, more than 25 percent of Brazil’s Pantanal was on fire. It was the worst yearly damage since officials began keeping records in 2003. What worries us most is that in areas without roads, moving on smaller rivers can be a problem because of low water levels. That means firefighters could soon have trouble reaching some fires. And, even if they can, less water is available to put them out.
8. What do we know about the scientists’ findings from paragraph 1?
A. They are irrelevant. B. They are incredible.
C. They mislead the public. D. They are easy to discover.
9. What is the author’s biggest worry about the crisis of water resources?
A. Massive crop drying.
B. Disappearance of wetlands.
C. Failure in land clearing in winter.
D. Difficulty in fire fighting in some areas.
10. How does the author develop the passage?
A. By providing typical examples. B. By making comparisons.
C. By presenting cause and effect. D. By giving definitions.
11. Which of the following can be the best title for the text?
A. Brazil Water Study Raises Fears for Drought.
B. Protecting Water Is a Top Mission for Brazil.
C. Brazil Becomes a Country Short of Fresh Water.
D. Climate Change Affects Water Security in Brazil.
D
Watched afar, it’s like a wall painting from Tang Dynasty (618 to 907 AD); if listen closely, it’s like heavenly music that brings people back to Tang’s capital, Chang’an. Musicians with round collar robes and Futou on their heads, and ladies with high hair buns in gauze dresses are playing Chang’an ancient music with traditional drum, sheng, flute, yinluo and other instruments.
The Chang’an ancient music, also known as Xi’ an Guyue, originated in the Tang Dynasty. Initially, it was played only for royal gatherings, but later on, such music becomes popular among common people. Chang’an ancient music is a typical representative of Chinese traditional instrumental music. In 2009, it was added to the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List.
What kind of instruments can produce such graceful music, which has been played for more than a millennium (一千年)? Chang’an ancient music is a grand ensemble integrating traditional Chinese percussion (打击乐器), wind and string instruments, and it has been acknowledged as the “symphony from ancient China”. Its history is even longer than western symphony, which formed and developed in the 18th century.
Different from the music notation (乐谱) used by western symphony, Chang’an ancient music adopts a Song Dynasty music notation method. Meanwhile, it inherits over 1,000 qupai, or labelled melodies of various forms from the Tang and Song Dynasty. In the performance of traditional Chang’an ancient music, there is neither score nor conductor; all performers must keep all the tunes in mind.
The Chang’an ancient music is still played nowadays, which won’t be possible without efforts made by generations of inheritors. For example, besides performing the traditional art, the Xi’an International University Ancient Chinese Music Orchestra has been innovating. The Chang’an ancient music version of “War Song of Kings”, the theme song of an online game is a masterpiece of their innovation. In it, musicians not only include representative instruments like bamboo flute, bili, sheng, double yunluo, gong, cymbals, zither and pipa, but also other Chinese folk instruments like erhu and xun. In such a way, the orchestra has brought to the audience a vivid mixture of modern music and Chang’an ancient music with Tang Dynasty features.
When the orchestra plays “Pirates of the Caribbean”, piano was added into Chang’an ancient music. When oriental charm meets with western elements, unique sparks appear.
In Dongcang Drum Music Society of Xi’an’s theme park Tang Paradise, musicians chose live-streaming. Their live videos have attracted more and more audiences from China and abroad, enabling them to know more about Chang’an ancient music. As more and more people fall in love with the “symphony from ancient China”, this ancient art form is now injected with new vitality.
12. What can we know about Chang’an ancient music according to the article?
A. It adopted a Tang Dynasty music notation method.
B. It was initially played among common people.
C. It has gained the fame “symphony from ancient China”.
D. It was included in the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List in 2008.
13 Why is Chang’ an ancient music the representative of Chinese traditional instrumental music?
A. Because it’s like a wall painting and heavenly music from Tang Dynasty.
B. Because it combines conventional Chinese percussion, wind and string instruments.
C. Because it inherits over 1,000 qupai, or labelled melodies of various forms.
D. Because the orchestra has brought to the audience a vivid mixture of music.
14. The underlined word “score” in paragraph 4 means ________.
A. a point in a game B. the lights in a hall
C. the number of twenty D. a piece of written music
15. Why is Chang’ an ancient music popular today according to the passage?
A. Because of efforts made by inheritors.
B. Because of its beautiful notation.
C. Because it originated from China.
D. Because it is filled with new vitality.

As an eighth-grader, I’ve always been hard-working and achieved excellent grades in my studies. I put a lot of effort into every assignment, spending hours to make sure they were perfect. Almost every day, some of my classmates came to me asking for my homework or help during a test. I always said yes because I thought that you should help your friends.
But to my disappointment, they didn’t see me as their friend. They didn’t seem to appreciate my kindness, and they didn’t even invite me to play with them during breaks.
It was bothering me because during school days, at least half of my classmates asked me to help them one way or another during the day. As soon as they finished, they were gone and didn’t even want to talk to me. Sometimes they would even ask me to do their homework before the day was over. They would give me the assignment and go away to hang out with their friends. And then during group projects, everyone would try to be in the same group with me and they wouldn’t do anything for the project, letting me do everything and then get a good grade.
I still kept helping them because I thought that one day they will see how I was always useful to them and never said no, but this day never came. In fact, the opposite happened— my classmates noticed and talked to me less and less. This situation made me feel bad. Then I thought to myself, “If sometimes I say no, they’ll change!”
One day we had a pair assignment and of course June, who was the most popular girl in my class, was the first to raise her hand to be with me. I again couldn’t say no. I think June assumed that I would do everything myself so she didn’t even bother to talk with me about the assignment. But this time I really didn’t want to do 100% of the work because I had many other assignments and well... it was meant to be done by two!
注意:
1. 续写词数应为150个左右;
2. 请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。
Finally, I gathered my courage to face up to June.

Dear Ziqi,
I am thrilled to see you back with three videos which wowed us. Hoping that you can promote the traditional culture of my hometown, Chongqing, I’d like to introduce hot pot.
Featuring its spicy and bold flavor, hot pot is a unique way of enjoying food. Friends and families gather around a steaming pot sharing food and conversation, which reflects the spirit of unity and harmony. Apart from the tasty food, it is the atmosphere of warmth and closeness that attracts people to hang around the hot pot table.
I would be grateful if you can share hot pot in your video.
Yours sincerely,
Li Hua

【答案】参考作文:
Paragraph 1:
Finally, I gathered my courage to face up to June. “You should do 50 percent of the work because I wouldn’t be able to do it alone,” I said firmly. June looked at me in shock, as if she couldn’t believe I would say such a thing, “Hey, I’ve been really busy lately and I can’t work on the project, can you help?” “No!” I felt a mixture of anger and disappointment welling up inside me. She kept begging me. I controlled myself and finally exclaimed loudly, “No!” Astonished by my resolute attitude, she froze to the spot.
Paragraph 2:
From then on, I learned to say “no”. I understood that it was okay to set limits when I was really busy or when it was unfair for me to do all the work. My classmates began to respect me more. They no longer just came to me for help but also started to have real conversations with me and invited me to join their activities. I finally found my place among them, not just as a helper but as a true friend.
