Look at the pictures in Parts A and B on page 7 and answer the following questions. Who are they? Do you remember their Chinese and English names? Which class are they in? What are Millie’s and Sandy’s hobbies? 2. Answer the two questions on page 8 before reading the introductions. (1) What do you want to tell your new classmates about yourself? (2) What do you know about your new classmates? 3. Look at the four pictures on page 8 and answer the following question. What do the four students look like? Step 2 Presentation Activity1 1.Have students try to introduce the four students about their age, character, looks and hobbies by looking at their photos. Activity2 1.Listening Have students listen to Millie’s self-introduction and find out the structure of the profile. 2.Reading Have students work in group and find out the structure of the profile for Daniel, Simon and Sandy.(Each group finds the profile of only one student) 3.Speaking Have students read the four introductions again and find out the sentences about how to introduce others, and introduce Millie according to the profile and sentences. Step 3 Practice Task1 Have students read the four introductions again and finish the four profiles. Task2 Have students finish Part A on page 9 introduce the four students’ hobbies with more than three sentences (2) Have students finish Part B on page 9 and correct the mistakes. (3) Have students finish Part C on page 10 and answer the questions. Of the four students, who do you want to make friends with? Why?
