Dear David,
I feel sad because my classmates make fun of me for my being overweight. I worry a lot about how I look because people think girls should be thin and pretty. This makes me feel bad. What should I do?
Sally
Dear Sally,
I feel your pain. When I was at school, I was also overweight and had a really hard time. I felt so low about myself at times. And I know, for girls that can be even harder. But I’ll share what helped me and maybe it can help you too.
When I was about 13 years old, I discovered an after-school drama club. I was good at drama and it brought me out of my shell (开始活跃起来). I learned I had good qualities and that I could feel proud of myself and love myself, no matter what I looked like. After that, my confidence helped me out at school too. People started to see there was more in me, and for the first time in my life, I started to become popular.
What I’m trying to say is that if you can be proud of yourself and love yourself for your good qualities, other people can’t influence you. Be proud of your good points and hold your head up high. And I’m sure you’re beautiful too in your own way.
David

(2025·安徽·中考真题)The Civilian Mobile Library offers books for free. Readers are invited to take one book every 15 days. They are encouraged to pass it on to someone else once they’ve finished reading. And they are not expected to return the book.
The library is just seven square meters in size but houses thousands of books on different subjects. “It might be the smallest library in the world,” said Xu Dawei, the owner. “But in another sense, it’s also the biggest because the books keep moving. Once, a reader took a book on Chinese garden history. After finishing it, the reader passed it to a neighbour. The neighbour then took it to Germany!”
“I’ve read thousands of books,” Xu said. “Books have truly changed my life.” The idea of starting a library took shape in 2000, when Xu recommended (推荐) online a list of his favorite books to university students, but many of them said they couldn’t find those books in their school libraries or local bookstores. So he began sending his books to readers for free. “They all wrote me letters expressing their thanks. It inspired me to take it farther, turning my book-gifting into a physical space,” Xu said.

(2026·安徽芜湖·一模)In a small research room in Hunan, a soft light shone on the papers and rice plants. The famous scientist Yuan Longping was sitting at the desk and writing down his notes. He usually worked from early morning until late at night. For him, the quiet fields were the best places to think. He worked hard on how to help people around the world by growing rice that could feed more people.
Yuan Longping was born in Beijing on September 7th, 1930. When he was a child, he loved nature and was curious about every plant he saw. After he became an agronomist (农学家), he began to study hybrid rice (杂交水稻). At that time, growing enough food was a big problem in many places. Yuan found that improving rice was very difficult. Scientists needed a creative mind and strong patience because even a small success took thousands of tests.
Yuan believed, “If you want to do something for people, you must work hard all your life.” He kept improving hybrid rice until it spread to many countries. You may find this email surprising, but making sweaters for penguins is a real act of kindness. A penguin foundation (基金会) in Australia thought up the idea.
The activity began because of a serious oil spill (石油泄漏) in the 1990s. At that time, the number and health of baby penguins had a serious drop. Their lives were not safe.
To solve this problem, the foundation asked people from all over the world to make sweaters for penguins. These sweaters could protect them from the cold and stop them from eating the oil.
Luckily, the idea worked. In 2001 there was another oil spill near Phillip Island, the sweaters helped save 96 penguins in the area.
However, some people questioned “Do these sweaters put more stress (压力) on penguins?” To answer this, the foundation said that they would only use the sweaters for a short time. “When the penguins are better, they will not wear them.”

(2026·安徽六安·一模)Miles is fourteen and has loved folding (折叠) paper into different shapes for about seven years, often creating small animals and birds. He once read about a special paper fold that makes paper both small and strong. He thought this could help make safe places for people in times of need.
He tried 54 different ways of folding, using different papers, and tested how much weight each could hold. The structure (结构) made with the best fold used light paper and could hold things thousands of times heavier than itself. What surprised him most was that paper could be so strong—one piece could hold 200 pounds. The hardest part was how long it took—over 250 hours. He often worked in his living room during school breaks. He thanks those who studied paper folding before him, and his family for their support. Miles did this project in eighth grade. He later won first place in a national science competition.
Miles also gives advice to others. He thinks people should study what they love, even if it does not seem like science at first. He shared that his own love for birds once led him to study pigeons (鸽子). Before that, he knew little about biology, but now it has become one of his favorite subjects.
1.What does the underlined word “this” in Paragraph 1 refer to (指的是)?
A.The animal paper fold. B.A safe place for poor people.
C.The special paper fold. D.The deep love for paper folding.

(2026·安徽芜湖·一模)In a Beijing lab, a mother mouse is taking care of her newborn babies. This looks like a common scene, but it is actually very special. Why? Because this mother mouse just came back from a two-week stay on China’s space station—and she is the first mouse to have babies after a space trip in China’s space history.
The story began on October 31, 2025. Four mice went to space on the Shenzhou-21 trip. They lived in a small home on the China Space Station for about 14 days. But things did not go as planned. The mice were supposed to come back on time, but there was a change of plan. This meant the mice faced a big problem: their food was running out.
Back on Earth, scientists quickly took action. They made an emergency plan. Astronauts on the space station shared some of their own food with the mice—soy milk! This simple drink kept the mice healthy until they finally came back to Earth on November 14.
Then something amazing happened. One of the female mice was found to have babies. On December 10—less than a month after returning—she gave birth to nine tiny pups. Sadly, three did not live, but six did and are doing well.
Scientists are very happy. “This shows that a short trip to space did not seem to hurt the mouse’s ability to have babies,” said a researcher. These six pups are very special. They give scientists a rare chance to study if growing up in space can change later generations.

D.Scientists gave soy milk to the mice after they came back to Earth.
(2026·安徽安庆·模拟预测)The National Day holiday is more than a holiday for me. It’s also a chance to return to my hometown, Chaohu. Last year, I discovered a new side of it.

(2025·安徽·中考真题)Relationships with your siblings (兄弟姐妹) can help you practice social skills. Having a good relationship with them can help you communicate with other people, and understand other people’s feelings. You can even learn things when you don’t get on with your siblings. When you have argued (争吵) with them, you have to work out how to be in the same space as them. As a result, you often learn how to accept differences. It is very useful in the outside world.
It’s completely normal (正常的) that sometimes you and your sibling won’t see eye to eye. “Have a good think about why the two of you don’t get on. Try to talk when you both cool down,” says Dr. Owen, a researcher in how children develop. “Tell them how you feel. You could say, ‘It really hurts me when you make jokes about me.’ If the trouble carries on, talk to a trusted adult (成年人).”

There’s DAVID, the world’s first and only car that can be driven by the blind. And SAFFiR, a two-legged robot that can do dangerous work that humans are often unable to do. Hong is finding plenty of work for his robots.
When he was asked about his biggest success, Hong chose the robot called DARwIn-OP. He thought it was one of the most widely used human-like robots for research and education. Hong’s team made DARwIn’s design free for anyone to use. They have seen many projects using the design. And they consider it a gift to the robotics community.
“Many people only want to see our successes and not the failures that came before those, but failure is simply a stepping stone in developing new technology. If you’re too afraid of failure, then you only get to walk on the safer side, and then there’s no innovation (创新),” said Hong. “I tell my students to try breaking the robot. (2026·安徽六安·一模)When we want to learn something new, we often go online. Some people use AI chatbots (聊天机器人) like ChatGPT. Others use search engines (引擎) like Google. Which way is better? A new study finds that old-fashioned Googling may help us learn more deeply.
Scientists did seven tests with more than 10,000 people. They asked them to learn about different subjects, like how to grow vegetables or live a healthy life. Some people used ChatGPT. Others used Google. After learning, everyone wrote down what they learned and gave advice to a friend.
The tests showed people who used Google learned more. Their knowledge was deeper. They gave better advice. People who used ChatGPT learned less. Their knowledge was shallow. They did not care as much about the advice they gave.
Why does this happen? When we use Google, we see many websites. We have to click on them and read. We choose what to read. We think about what is important. This helps us learn. When we use ChatGPT, we just get one quick answer. We do not need to think or search. So we do not remember as well.
In one test, ChatGPT even gave links (链接) to websites. But most people did not click on them. Only about one in four clicked any link. They were happy with the quick answer. They did not want to learn more.
1.What were the people in the tests asked to do?

(2026·安徽六安·一模)Talbot wakes up early in the forest. He gets out of his tent and watches the sunrise. He takes a deep breath of fresh air and cooks breakfast. It sounds like the perfect morning to start a fun camping trip. But for him, it is just another workday.
Talbot’s job is to design and build hiking trails (小路). It may look easy, but it is hard work. Before building, he must study the land carefully. He once walked over 3,200 kilometers of rocky ground to map the area.
Talbot focuses on building trails that do not harm the land. In the past, many trails went straight up the hill. Builders just wanted the shortest way to the top. But these steep (陡峭的) trails often caused problems. For example, rain would wash the soil away. Today, Talbot builds trails that follow the land’s natural contours (轮廓). This helps stop the soil from being washed away.
His trails are made to last. But in a way, they are also made to “disappear”. He wants people to enjoy the walk without even noticing the trail under their feet. On the best trails, hikers are so busy looking at trees and animals that they forget they are on a trail.
For Talbot, building trails is both science and art. He doesn’t create a trail alone. Instead, he works with nature and follows the land—until, at last, the trail finds him.
1.Why does Talbot sleep in the forest?
A.To build hiking trails. B.To have a camping trip.
C.To watch the sunrise. D.To breathe fresh air there.
2.What is the advantage of Talbot’s trails?

C.They protect the land. D.They are the shortest ways.
3.What can we infer (推断) from Paragraph 4?
A.Talbot’s trails often disappear. B.Views along Talbot’s trails are nice.
C.Talbot builds trails with high technology. D.Talbot often gets lost in forests.
(2026·安徽六安·一模)Clear windows let us enjoy the view, but to birds they can be deadly. In the UK, millions of birds knock into windows every year. Many of them get hurt or even killed.
Why does this happen? Birds do not see windows the way we do. When windows reflect (反射) trees, birds think the “trees” are real. So, they fly straight towards them. They do not understand reflections, which makes windows very dangerous to them.
To help solve this problem, one nature park in the UK is trying something new. It has put a special film on its windows. This technology uses ultraviolet (紫外线的) film.
Birds have eyes that work differently from ours. They can see ultraviolet light, but people cannot. With the ultraviolet film on the glass, windows look solid (不透明的) to birds, so they know they should not fly into them. At the same time, people can still see clearly through the windows. It is a win-win for humans and birds.
The film is now being used in a garden restaurant with large glass walls. Visitors can enjoy watching birds outside, while the birds stay safe. It is a clever idea, and it works well. A worker says they are proud to be taking “meaningful action” to protect their animal friends.
1.Why do birds knock into windows?
A.They can’t see windows clearly.
B.They mistake the reflections of trees for real ones.
C.They often fly too fast to stop.

A.It helps birds see much further than before.
B.It changes the color of the windows.
C.It makes the glass look like a solid wall to people.
D.It can be seen by birds but can not be seen by humans.
3.From the last paragraph, how do people feel about using ultraviolet film?
A.Nervous. B.Awful. C.Proud. D.Moved.
4.What is the best title for the text?

C.Use Special Film, Beautify Glass Walls D.Build Nature Parks, Protect the Birds
(2026·安徽芜湖·一模)Have you seen white, hairy tofu on your phone? That’s Mao tofu, a traditional food from Anhui. It is made by fermenting (发酵) tofu until it grows white mold (霉) on the outside. Many people find it scary at first. But here’s the funny part—it actually tastes creamy, like aged cheese.
The fun started when Mao tofu sellers began posting short videos. In these videos, a customer walks up and touches the hairy tofu with their hands. The seller’s eyes go wide. “Don’t touch it if you won’t buy!” she shouts, “How can I sell it now?” The customer, feeling embarrassed, has no choice. “Fine, I’ll buy it.” Then the seller’s face lights up. “Great! Do you want mild, medium, hot, or super hot?”
It’s this sudden change—from angry to happy in one second—that makes people laugh. These videos became a hit across the Internet. Soon, everyone wanted to join the fun.
People started making their own versions (版本). They used snow, soft blankets, or marshmallows to take the place of Mao tofu. They played both roles—the toucher and the seller. The funniest part? They still asked, “Mild, medium, hot, or super hot?” even when “touching” a pile of snow!
Why did this become so popular? First, the sound of cutting Mao tofu feels strangely relaxing. Second, anyone can do it—no special skills needed. But most importantly, it made people feel connected. When you see someone else making the same silly video, you smile and think, “Hey, I did that too!”

(25-26九年级上·安徽阜阳·期末)When you point the camera at something and press the button (按下快门), it sends the data (数据) to an AI language model. This AI model understands what it “sees” and then writes a poem about it. The poem might describe the place or express your feelings. The camera then prints the poem on paper using a small printer inside. The best part? You can choose different poem styles.
What does Paragraph 3 mainly talk about?
A.What is the best part of the Poetry Camera.
B.How AI tools help the Poetry Camera.
C.What is inside the Poetry Camera.
D.How the Poetry Camera works.
(2025·安徽·中考真题)It’s completely normal (正常的) that sometimes you and your sibling won’t see eye to eye. “Have a good think about why the two of you don’t get on. Try to talk when you both cool down,” says Dr. Owen, a researcher in how children develop. “Tell them how you feel. What do the underlined words “see eye to eye” in paragraph 2 mean?
A.Joke with each other. B.Hear from each other.
C.Agree with each other. D.Learn from each other.

Dear David,

Sally
Dear Sally,
I feel your pain.
David

记叙文
(2025·安徽·中考真题)Sanket Reddy has spent years in forests around the world taking photos of wildlife. While the animals have always interested him, the people who live alongside them have changed how he sees the world and himself. “Life lessons from those people have truly moved me,” he says.
From South India to Central America, Sanket has met communities who live in peace with nature. “They understand the value of every species (物种), no matter how small,” he says. “Even if you are just watching sparrows (麻雀), you might try to understand why they are doing what they are doing.” In our busy lives, we often fail to notice these small moments (瞬间). But to Sanket, they matter. Because noticing is the first step towards caring. And once you care, the protection of wildlife feels like a natural thing.
For Sanket, wildlife photography has never been about becoming famous. “I do it to add value to animals’ lives,” he says. “Don’t do it to get a few good pictures.”
Sanket shares the stories and moments that shaped him in his book View Finder. “I feel I need to pass on what I have learned from nature to the young people. They are the future,” he says.

“All the readers have to do is to come. Even if they finish a book and decide not to pass it on, at least the book benefited (使受益) one person and perhaps their family, helping them fall in love with reading,” Xu said. “And this is my dream.”
1.Why did Xu Dawei mention the reader in paragraph 2?
A.To ask for some help. B.To compare two ideas.

A.To learn in two different ways. B.To write passages on different subjects.
C.To learn how to use AI chatbots. D.To help friends learn something new.
2.What does the underlined word “shallow” in Paragraph 3 probably mean?
A.丰富的 B.清晰的 C.错误的 D.浅显的
3.According to the test, what problem can ChatGPT cause for people using it?
A.They may become less willing to think. B.They may forget how to go online.
C.They may lose interest in reading. D.They may be bored with quick answers.
4.What is the purpose of the text?
A.To warn people not to use AI tools. B.To ask people to pay attention to Internet safety.
C.To introduce the best way of learning. D.To advise people to use AI chatbots carefully.
【答案】1.A 2.D 3.A 4.D
【导语】本文主要讲述了一项关于使用聊天机器人和搜索引擎学习效果的对比研究。
1.根据第二段“Scientists did seven tests with more than 10,000 people. They asked them to learn about different subjects, like how to grow vegetables or live a healthy life. Some people used ChatGPT. Others used Google.”可知,科学家让参加测试的人分别使用ChatGPT和Google这两种不同方式去学习不同学科的知识,所以是让人们以两种不同方式学习。
2.根据第三段“The tests showed people who used Google learned more. Their knowledge was deeper. They gave better advice. People who used ChatGPT learned less. Their knowledge was shallow.”可知,使用Google的人学得更多、知识更深入,而使用ChatGPT的人学得更少,与之相对应的是他们的知识是“浅显的”,所以shallow意思是“浅显的”。
3.根据第四段“When we use ChatGPT, we just get one quick answer. We do not need to think or search. So we do not remember as well.”
A.They need less soil. B.They can avoid the rain.
【答案】1.A 2.C 3.B
【导语】本文介绍了Talbot的工作——设计和修建徒步小路,讲述了他工作的艰辛、修建小路的理念以及他对这份工作的理解,体现了他与自然和谐共生的工作态度。

2.第三段说明Talbot修建的小路的优势:“Talbot focuses on building trails that do not harm the land. Today, Talbot builds trails that follow the land’s natural contours. This helps stop the soil from being washed away.”,表明Talbot修建的小路的优势是保护土地。
3.第四段提到:“On the best trails, hikers are so busy looking at trees and animals that they forget they are on a trail.”,说明徒步者在Talbot修建的小路上会专注于周围的树木和动物,由此可推断Talbot修建的小路沿途景色很好。
D.They are trying to enter the buildings to find food.
2.How does the ultraviolet film work?
A.It helps birds see much further than before.
B.It changes the color of the windows.
C.It makes the glass look like a solid wall to people.
D.It can be seen by birds but can not be seen by humans.
3.From the last paragraph, how do people feel about using ultraviolet film?
A.Nervous. B.Awful. C.Proud. D.Moved.
4.What is the best title for the text?
A.See the Glass, Save the Birds B.Design the Windows, Drive the Birds
C.Use Special Film, Beautify Glass Walls D.Build Nature Parks, Protect the Birds
【答案】1.B 2.D 3.C 4.A
1.文章第二段“When windows reflect (反射) trees, birds think the “trees” are real. So, they fly straight towards them.”,明确说明:窗户反射树木时,鸟类会把反射出的树错认为真树,因此径直飞向窗户发生撞击,提取信息可得出答案。
2.文章第四段“They can see ultraviolet light, but people cannot…At the same time, people can still see clearly through the windows.”,说明了紫外线膜的工作原理:鸟类可以看见紫外线,人类无法看见紫外线,因此贴紫外线膜后,鸟类能识别出窗户是不透明障碍物,人类依旧可以清晰透窗观景。
3.文章最后一段“A worker says they are proud to be taking ‘meaningful action’ to protect their animal friends.”,提到工作人员表示,他们为能采取该有意义的行动保护鸟类感到骄傲,可知人们对使用紫外线膜的态度是骄傲的。
4.梳理全文可知,文章核心是:鸟类无法识别玻璃导致撞窗死亡,用特殊膜让鸟类看见玻璃,从而避免撞击保护鸟类,A项“See the Glass, Save the Birds”精准概括了文章核心内容。

(2026·安徽阜阳·一模)Recently, cities like Chengdu, Qingdao and Fuzhou have canceled unified (统一的) final exams for 10th and 11th graders across their cities. This move follows a national notice from the Ministry of Education (教育部), which aims to reduce students’ study pressure and help them develop in many ways. Instead of city-wide exams, schools now organize their own small tests.
Parents have mixed feelings. Many feel worried. They say without unified exams, they can’t know their children’s real level compared to others in the city. Some also fear that different schools may have tests of different quality, making it hard to plan for the future. However, a few parents support the change, as it lets their kids have less stress about being put in order.
Experts have shared their ideas. They say it does not mean no exams at all, but a better way to check students’ learning. Students can have more time for hobbies and their favorite study tasks. To reduce parents’ worries, education departments provide standard test questions for schools to use.

(2026·安徽阜阳·一模)Yudong No.2 Primary School in Chongqing has a warm and special schedule (时间表), especially designed for Grade 1 and Grade 2 students: they arrive at school at 9 o’clock, and then do activities for half an hour.
At 9:00 a. m., the school gate is lively. Tiny Grade 1 and Grade 2 students walk in, carrying their beautiful cartoon schoolbags. Some are chatting excitedly about the funny cartoons they watched on the weekend, some are sharing the interesting stories their parents told them before bed, and others are holding their classmates’ hands, jumping as they walk. Instead of going straight to the quiet classrooms, they run to the playground happily for a 30-minute pre-class exercise time. Teachers join them sometimes, guiding and playing together. Then they rest for a quarter. After that the formal (正式的) classes start.
With a clear bell ringing, the noisy playground turns quiet in a second. All students hurry to classrooms, take out textbooks, and sit up straight, waiting for the lessons to begin.
This schedule brings different ideas among parents. Some think it’s perfect—kids get enough sleep and exercise, staying focused in class. Others disagree, believing coming to school earlier gives more time for pre-class review.
Watching students listen carefully with bright smiles, it’s easy to tell this schedule fits most of them well.
