Section Ⅲ Using language 语法项目——主语从句 语境中体悟 It is true that① experiences are acquired through our journey of life.What② we believe and how③ we look at things and people around us are based on all our experiences in life.Despite the fact that things and life are the way they are, we all have different opinions and beliefs about everything and everybody.Other people have opinions about us as well.But what④ really matters is the opinion we have about ourselves.You choose to accept and follow what other people believe, but whether⑤ you want to become yourself or live according to the reality of life is for you to decide. [语法入门] ①从属连词that引导主语从句,在从句中不作成分; ②连接代词what引导主语从句,并在从句中作宾语; ③连接副词how引导主语从句,并在从句中作状语; ④连接代词what引导主语从句,并在从句中作主语; ⑤从属连词whether引导主语从句,在从句中不作成分。 学案中理清 主语从句就是在复合句中作主语的从句,通常放在主句谓语动词之前,置于句首,也可用形式主语it代替,而将主语从句放至句末。 一、主语从句的连接词及其句法功能 1.连接词that和whether/if (1)that引导主语从句时,在从句中不充当任何句子成分,也没有实际意义,只起连接作用,但不可省略。 (2)whether/if引导主语从句时,在从句中不充当任何句子成分,只起连接作用,意为“是否”,不可省略。 (3)whether引导的主语从句既可放在句首,也可放在句尾;if引导的主语从句不可以位于句首,可用it作形式主语,if引导的从句后置作真正的主语。 2.连接代词(who, whose, whom, what, which, whichever, whoever, whomever, whatever等) (1)连接代词引导主语从句,在从句中可以作主语、宾语、表语或定语。 (2)who引导的主语从句强调一件事情,而whoever引导的主语从句强调人。 3.连接副词(when, where, how, why, whenever, wherever, however等) 连接副词引导主语从句,在从句中作状语。 [对点练] (1)用适当的连接词填空 ①(2025·全国Ⅰ卷)Scientists are still trying to determine how harmful microplastics are — but what they do know has raised concerns. ②It is not a problem whether/if we can win the battle; it's just a matter of time. ③Your support is important to our work.Whatever you can do helps. ④How we understand things has a lot to do with what we feel. ⑤Why John was late for the class has been unexplained. (2)完成句子 ⑥That_she_could_come_to_help_us made us very happy. 她能来帮助我们,这使我们很高兴。 ⑦Whoever_comes_in_first will receive a prize. 无论谁先到都可以得到奖品。 二、主语从句中用it作形式主语的结构 1.It+be+形容词(obvious, true, important, strange, etc.)+主语从句 It is important that he (should) know about this. 重要的是他应该知道此事。 [名师点津] 在“It+be+形容词+主语从句”结构中,若形容词为important, necessary, strange等,从句常用虚拟语气,即从句中的谓语用“(should) do”。 2.It+be+名词词组(no wonder, an honour, a pity, a/no surprise, etc.)+主语从句 It's a pity that he didn't come.很遗憾他没来。 3.It+be+过去分词(said, reported, suggested, expected, proved, etc.)+主语从句 It is suggested that the meeting (should) be put off. 建议会议延期。 [名师点津] 在“It+be+过去分词+主语从句”结构中,过去分词若为suggested, ordered, required, advised等表示建议、要求、命令等词时,从句常用虚拟语气,即从句中的谓语用“(should) do”。 4.It+不及物动词(happen, seem, appear, remain, etc.)+主语从句 It seems that it is going to rain. 看起来好像要下雨。 5.It+及物动词+宾语+主语从句 It surprised him why they came to visit him suddenly. 让他吃惊的是他们为什么突然都来看他。 [对点练] (1)完成句子 ①It is often the case that_anything_is_possible for those who hang on to hope. 通常情况下,对于那些心存希望的人,一切皆有可能。 ②It's_suggested_that_the_old_man_(should)_go_to_the_room to have a rest. 建议这位老人去房间休息一下。 ③It_is_a_pity_that_you_disagree_with the plan. 很遗憾,你不赞成这个计划。 (2)用it作形式主语改写下列句子 ④That he suddenly fell ill last month surprised us. →It_surprised_us_that_he_suddenly_fell_ill last month. ⑤Whether they will sell the house hasn't been decided yet. →It_hasn't_been_decided_yet_whether they will sell the house. 三、主语从句中应注意的问题 1.从句要用陈述语序 What we will do next should be decided. 我们应该决定下一步该做什么。 2.主谓一致 (1)单个从句作主语时,主句的谓语一般用单数形式。 Where he will get a job after graduation has puzzled him much. 毕业后在哪儿找工作使他很困惑。 [名师点津] what引导主语从句时,根据意义一致原则决定主句谓语的数:若表示复数意义,则谓语用复数;若表示单数意义,则谓语用单数。 What the school needs most are books. 这所学校最需要的是书。 (2)如果由and连接两个或两个以上的主语从句作主语时,谓语动词用复数;由两个或多个连接词引导一个主语从句时,谓语动词用单数。 When they will start and where they will go have not been decided yet. 他们将在什么时候动身以及要去哪里还没定下来。 When and where the movie will be shown is not clear. 这部影片何时何地上映还不清楚。 [对点练] (用所给词的适当形式填空) ①What surprised me most was (be) that the man in rags was a millionaire. ②When and where the meeting will be held has_been_decided (decide) already. ③That the coal workers are still alive is (be) a wonder. 应用中融通 在空白处填入合适的连接词 1.What I'm concerned about most is how/whether we can collect a huge amount of money in such a short time. 2.It is said that he is focusing on a book on space exploration, but when it will come out is up in the air. 3.Don't worry.Whether he will offer us help doesn't matter a lot. 4.(2025·全国Ⅱ卷写作)What concerns us most is whether the article on Canadian sports can be submitted before the deadline next Friday. 5.That he will go to work in a mountain village surprises all of us. 6.Who will be made the captain of our team is still unknown, but one thing is certain:Whoever is put in this position is to lead us out of the present difficulty. 7.Whether you can make your dream come true depends on hard work rather than luck. 8.Whoever enters the computer rooms should take off his shoes in order to keep the rooms clean enough. 教材听力“再利用” 一、由听力厚积语料库 1.take note of how people reacted to them 注意人们对他们的反应 2.be kind to them 对他们友好 3.stare at their scars 盯着他们的伤疤看 4.to_sum_up 总之 5.in_return 作为回报 二、教材录音材料的发掘训练 1.When was the experiment conducted?
