Passage A   Solar power: a clean energy for the future

For many years, people have been looking for clean and renewable energy to take the place of fossil fuels. Solar power is one of the most popular clean energy sources around the world. It uses the sunlight to make electricity, and it doesn't produce any harmful gases or pollution.

Solar power has many advantages. First, it is renewable. The sun will keep shining for billions of years, so we don't need to worry about it running out. Second, it is quiet and safe. Unlike coal power stations, solar panels don't make any noise, and they are safe to use at home. Third, it can save money. After you install solar panels, you can make your own electricity, so you don't need to pay much for the electricity bill every month.

However, solar power also has some problems. The biggest one is that it can't work at night, and it doesn't work well on cloudy or rainy days. Also, solar panels need a lot of space to produce enough electricity for a large building. And the cost of installing solar panels is still quite high for some people.

With the development of technology, these problems are being solved. New solar panels can work better in low light, and the cost is becoming lower and lower. In China, solar power is developing very fast. Now China has the largest solar power capacity in the world, and more and more solar power stations are being built every year.

Solar power is playing a more and more important role in our life. It helps us build a cleaner and greener world. In the future, it will become one of the most important energy sources for human beings.

1. What is solar power used for according to the passage?

A. To make electricity.

B. To produce harmful gases.

C. To keep the house warm.
