They are Wellman, whose legs were permanently (永久地) injured nine years ago in a rock-climbing accident, and Corbett, an experienced rock climber. Together, they climbed up Half Dome, the famous 2,000-foot rock in the Yosemite National Park, through one of the most difficult routes (路线). During the climb, Corbett took the lead, hit in the metal spikes (尖状物) that guided the ropes and climbed up. Then, after Wellman pulled himself up the rope, Corbett went down to remove the spikes and climbed up again. This process was repeated time and again, inch by inch, for 13days. Wellman’s job was not easy, either. He got himself up the rope through his upper body strength alone. In all, Wellman figured that he had done 5,000 pull-ups up the rope on the climb. However, when the two men first met, they never talked about climbing. “He knew that was how I got injured,” Wellman said. Until one day Wellman decided that he wanted to climb again and they started training. Their climb of Hall Dome was not all smooth. At one point, pieces of rock gave way, and Corbet dropped down quickly. Wellman locked their rope in place, stopping the fall at 20 feet. His name was Christian. He sat down, took a look at me, and then looked away. I didn’t think he was very nice and I was sure he wasn’t the type I would like to become friends with. During that year, I didn’t talk to him much, but he smiled at me when our eyes met, always shyly. He never ate lunch with anybody, and he never talked to anybody but me. But one day I joined those unkind kids who were making fun of him. We made fun of him though I thought it was wrong. “Haven’t you got any friends?” a kid asked Christian, who had walked past us alone, head down. “No, he hasn’t got any friends. He’s too stupid and shy,” I said. Then Christian looked up at me with the saddest dog eyes I had ever seen. I felt very sorry at that moment. That night, I couldn’t sleep because I couldn’t get Christian’s face out of my mind. In the weeks that followed, he never met my eyes in class and never smiled at me. It was really hard for me to decide to write him a note asking him to forgive (原谅) me. But I thought I should. The next day in class, I wrote him a note telling him how sorry I felt. About five minutes later, I turned and saw tears in his eyes. “You will never realize what your apology (道歉) has meant to me, Jimmy.” he said to me. “I hope we can become friends.” We had lunch together that noon and we had the best talk I had ever had. When everyone else in the class was focusing on tasks, I could not. In my first literature class, Mrs. Smith asked us to read a story and then write on it, all within 45 minutes. I raised my hand right away and said, “Mrs. Smith, you see, the doctor said I have attention problems. I might not be able to do it.” She glanced down at me through her glasses, “You are not different from your classmates, young man.” I tried, but I didn’t finish the reading when the bell rang. I had to take it home. In the quietness of my bedroom, the story suddenly all became clear to me. It was about a blind person, Louis Braile. He lived in a time when the blind couldn’t get much education. But Louis didn’t give up. Instead, he invented a reading system of raised dots (点), which opened up a whole new world of knowledge to the blind. Wasn’t I the “blind” in my class, being made to learn like the “sighted” students? My thoughts spilled out and my pen started to dance. I completed the task within 40 minutes. Indeed, I was not different from others; I just needed a quieter place. If Louis could find his way out of his problem, why should I ever give up? I didn’t expect anything when I handed in my paper to Mrs. Smith, so it was quite a surprise when it came back to me the next day — with an “A” on it. Earlier this year, Darren joined the first all-disabled team to move across Europe’s largest icecap, unsupported and unassisted, on a sit-ski. It was during this trip that he realised he was no longer battling against his limitations. Rather, he was enjoying a very special adventure, one that he was able to do though he was disabled. “This was when I started dreaming of an even bigger adventure — to complete the furthest journey on a sit-ski in the history of the South Pole exploration,” he said. Darren now skis for 10 to 12 hours every day. “I am not training to be able to go faster, but to make myself ready for an endurance (耐力)challenge because I need to cover 333 km in temperatures below-20℃ before reaching the South Pole,” he said. “But I am fairly pleased to have the opportunity to take on the sit-ski exploration, especially because for one year after my accident I did not imagine I would be able to take up such challenges.” He also believes that the adventure will provide inspiration for anyone who has a spinal injury or anyone who is struggling. Realising how fortunate he has been to be encouraged by others to take on new challenges and adventures, Darren and a friend have started a business, Adaptive Expeditions. “I know how much I have gained from being able to take on adventures that I never imagined would be possible due to the spinal cord injury. Passage 2 (24-25高一下·内蒙古·期中) Born in Germany, Kathrine Switzer was an athletic and driven child. As a young girl, Switzer was active in various sports, but she faced huge troubles as there was a widely held attitude that women in sports were unattractive. In high school, she began to take running more seriously, often training in secret. She developed her determination (意志) and running skills through continuous practice, often running long distances to build her stamina (耐力). Switzer attended Syracuse University, where she trained with the men’s cross-country team. During this time, Switzer decided to run the Boston Marathon. As there was nothing in the official rulebook preventing women from entering, she signed up for the 1967 race. She used the name “K. V. Switzer”. As a result, race officials did not realise she was a woman. But when the race officials discovered she was a woman, they tried to stop her. Fortunately, her boyfriend Tom Miller and a group of men runners formed a sort of protective curtain around her. Finally, she completed the race in four hours and twenty minutes. After that, she decided to help other women athletes. The Boston Marathon finally began accepting women runners in 1972, and three years later, Switzer placed second at the race with a time of 2:51:37, her personal best. In 1977, she created the Avon International Running Circuit, a worldwide series of women’s races that lay the groundwork for the women’s marathon to become an Olympic event in 1984. Switzer went on to found the women’s running club, 261 Fearless, and entered the National Women’s Hall of Fame in 2011. Still an active runner, Switzer even completed the Boston Marathon in 2017-fifty years after her historic run. “When I go to the Boston Marathon now, I have wet shoulders — women fall into my arms crying,” she said. “They’re crying for joy because running has changed their lives. She was at work when it happened, but the whole interaction was caught on her doorbell’s camera. The video showed the playful dog grabbed the package between his teeth seconds after the driver left it at Sand’s doorstep, and then ran down the driveway with his tail wagging. The driver laughed when he saw Nixon dutifully bringing back the item. Nixon is popular with the regular delivery drivers in the area. When drivers park their trucks at the end of the driveway, he’ll walk with them to the front door. “Nixon loves to relax but is also incredibly friendly. The garbage men know him, and they often stop to give him treats,” said Sand. Sand said Nixon becomes very excited when anyone comes to the house and is particularly fond of delivery people, who all know Nixon and give him treats. Though Sand isn’t usually one to post much on social media, this one was too good not to share. “I’ve never seen that, and it just made me laugh. I just kind of wanted to share that laughter with everyone and hopefully someone, or hopefully a lot of people found it funny and just made their day. And I’m sure it made the FedEx driver’s day,” Sand told CBS Minnesota. 1.What happened to the FedEx driver? A.He lost Sand’s package. B.He sent a wrong package. C.He got a delivered package back. All of her students knew she loved being a teacher. Her classroom was always a safe place where we were encouraged to share, think, and express ourselves.    One of the memories that always stuck with me was a reading class when Ms. Moore read a story aloud and started to cry. The main character in the story reminded her of her grandmother. She paused to share about her relationship with her grandmother and made the connection as to how that relationship helped understand the story. Ms. Moore tried her best to make a connection with each student in her classroom. She knew what we liked and used that information to bring our interests into the classroom. That is one of the reasons why Ms. Moore will always be my favorite teacher. She brought various types of books to our classroom and allowed us to take them home. It was she that helped my love for reading grow. Ms. Moore also went beyond classroom instruction. She decided that our school should have a choir and that all of her students should audition (试演). Without her, I would never have taken part in this type of after-school activity. Once it was time for the annual 5th grade weekend camping trip, my parents refused to let me attend. Ms. Moore came to my home to persuade (说服) them. Although I was still not allowed to go, it was amazing to me that a teacher would visit my home to help me be part of a school tradition with my classmates. Ms. Moore was a wonderful example of a caring teacher. From her, I’ve learned to make connections with students and look for ways to help them learn and feel successful. 1.Why did Ms. Moore cry in the reading class? A.The story was too sad. B.She was moved by the students. C.She thought of her own grandmother. D.She helped her students understand the story. 2.What can we learn about Ms. Moore from Paragraph 3? A.She was good at writing books. B.She inspired the writer’s love for reading. C.She donated many books to poor students. D.She was the favorite teacher of the whole class. 3.Which of the following words best describe Ms. Moore? A.Responsible and caring. B.Positive and independent. C.Inspiring and strict. D.Knowledgeable and confident. 4.What is the author’s purpose of writing this passage? A.To express opinions on teaching literature. B.To discuss how to become a caring teacher. C.To introduce the classes and activities in her school. D.To share her memory about her teacher, Ms. Anita Moore. 主题02 人与自我 Passage 1 (24-25高一下·辽宁·期中) I have to say it is rather uncommon for males of my age to be classical music enthusiasts. I was not born into a musical family and neither of my parents learned classical music. There wasn’t much music in my home either. So, how did it all start? The story dates back to the times when I was in kindergarten, which has classical music CDs to offer parents. Thinking that it wouldn’t be a bad idea to get me some music to listen to, my parents ordered them without any ambition of developing an interest in classical music or whatsoever. Without knowing who Bach, Vivaldi and Chopin were or what to expect, I just played the CDs one after one and grew increasingly fond of them. What took place meanwhile was my piano studies, which again exposed me to classical music. But I have to admit the beginner pieces sounded rather uninspired and dull to me. Thanks to YouTube, I was able to explore more than what my first piano teacher offered — from piano to orchestral music, from Bach to Scriabin. Very often, I didn’t practise the pieces my teacher assigned, but the pieces I truly loved! It’s also through the Internet that I discovered one of my piano idols later, Grigory Sokolov. Later on, I became interested in not only the music itself, but also composers and music history. I still remember in a 28-day outdoor program in Australia organized by my high school, we weren’t allowed to use our mobile phones and there wasn’t any piano either. What I could only do was to repeatedly recall Chopin’s Preludes (前奏曲) Op. 28 when walking up the hills. I felt peaceful as usual, but even happier with growing enthusiasm for music. To me, classical music explores the deepest emotions of humanity but can be so humorous as well. The magic of it lies in its ability to cast light on aspects of human conditions and, at the same time, to go beyond the reality. 1.What do we know about the author’s parents? A.They knew nothing about music. B.They had to purchase music CDs. C.They never pushed him to love music. D.They rarely valued his creating talent. 2.What can be inferred from the author’s piano studies? A.Online resources benefited him a lot. B.Music history seemed more inviting. C.He recognized the teacher’s advice. D.The piano classes made him sleepy. 3.Why does the author mention the 28-day outdoor program? A.To stress his eagerness to sing. B.To show his passion for music. C.To complain about its strict rules. D.To prove music’s role in calming. 4.What does the author think of classical music? A.It focuses on poetic lyrics. B.It escapes from the reality. C.It gives insights into life. D.It is a peace-seeking art. Passage 2 (24-25高一下·吉林·期中) Having lost his eyesight in childhood, countless difficulties once stood in Ang Ziyu’s path as he experienced an academic life. However, in June, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in science and was ready to attend a course for a master’s degree, proving that his courage, determination and resilience (适应力) helped him get over difficulties caused by his visual disability. Ang was admitted to Minzu University of China in 2020, scoring 635 out of a possible 750 in the national college entrance exam, and became the university’s first-ever student with visual disability. Worries came along with the joy of college admission. Would he be able to take care of himself on campus? Would he be able to learn abstract knowledge in Braille (盲文)? Could he meet the graduation requirements four years later? “The greatest fear is the unknown. I did encounter many problems after entering college, but there was always a way,” said Ang. “Only after a month did I become familiar with the campus roads. I used to buy meals at certain stalls (摊位) in the self-service restaurant because of familiarity, but as a senior now, I would like to try every food I haven’t eaten yet before I leave the college,” Ang said. “Sometimes he walks faster than I do. He uses a stick more to remind people that he is blind, in case he knocks into others, rather than needing it to walk,” said Bai Lu, his teacher. Greater challenges came from education activities. As an information and computing science major, Ang needs to take many math courses that contain symbols and geometry, which are difficult to express in Braille. On the one hand, Ang has made some new adjustments to the writing rules of Braille to better deal with the math calculations. On the other hand, more intelligent screen-reading software, able to read many mathematical symbols and Greek letters, has become a convenience. In addition, voluntary schoolmates organized by the school would read the textbooks and math questions for him to assist his study. In terms of final exams, Ang answered the same test papers as his classmates did, but in a special way. Ang would first transcribe (把……转成) the questions read to him, then answer them in Braille in 1.5 times the standard exam time. When given scores, Ang would read his answers to the teachers face to face. 1.What does the underlined word “meet” in the second paragraph mean? A.Identify. B.Satisfy. C.Recommend. D.Replace. 2.Why did Ang buy meals at certain stalls at first? A.The foods there were much tastier. B.He knew or recognized the stalls better. C.The prices of foods there were lower. D.The stalls’ service quality was much better. 3.How can we best describe Ang according to the text? A.Grateful and humorous. B.Helpful and considerate. C.Intelligent and independent. D.Hardworking and adaptable. 4.Which can be the best title for the news report? A.Blind student completes college with resilience B.Countless difficulties stand in blind student’s path C.Blind student attends course for bachelor’s degree D.University’s first-ever student with visual disability Passage 3 (24-25高一下·黑龙江·期中) I had a great time with the film Turning Red, which follows Meilin, a thirteen-year-old girl who suddenly begins turning into a giant red panda. The film was set in 2002 when I would’ve been around Meilin’s age. It was a joy for me to watch a film that I could relate to. The film illustrates the push-pull that many immigrant families face: how much of their culture to keep and how much to assimilate(融入). There are beautiful traces of Chinese culture throughout this film, including gorgeous food, time around the table, relationships with extended family, and more. In the film, women in Meilin’s family suffer a curse(诅咒). As soon as they begin to blossom into womanhood, they transform into a giant red panda whenever they express any strong emotion. Thus, they have learned that emotional repression is the way to go. It was beautiful to watch this young girl choose the different path of emotional wellness instead of holding back her feelings. It’s not a surprise that the director Domee Shi, who is around my age, chose this plotline. Many people my age are on that similar path Meilin finds herself on. We honor our parents and what they have done for us, but we’re also choosing to be more emotionally healthy and trying to live differently than we were taught. The part of Turning Red I particularly loved is the ending. Though Meilin’s mom, grandma, and aunts see that it’s possible to integrate their red pandas into their lives, they don’t choose that path. Instead, they choose to bottle their pandas up once again. However, they do get a new perspective on this young, groundbreaking girl. It’s such a sweet reminder that not everyone can go on the same journey toward emotional health, and that’s okay. If all of them had embraced their pandas, I think the ending would’ve felt incredibly cheese and taken away some of the power of the story. So we get a conclusion that is satisfying and heart-warming without being too much of a fairy tale. 1.Why did the author enjoy watching Turning Red? A.She found a connection with the story. B.She followed a life path similar to its director. C.She adored the appealing design of the red panda. D.She valued its emphasis on the beautiful Chinese culture. 2.What does the underlined word “repression” in the third paragraph mean? A.Disturbance. B.Control. C.Wellness. D.Expression. 3.What does the author think of the ending of the film? A.Bittersweet. B.Idealized. C.Realistic. D.Cheesy. 4.What is the central dilemma faced by Meilin in Turning Red? A.“Can I embrace my true self?” B.“Should I prioritize my family?” C.“Can I uncover the curse’s secret?” D.“Should I explore diverse cultures? 主题03 人与自然 Passage 1 (24-25高一下·黑龙江·期中) Many of us have heard of Alex Honnold, who made history in 2018 when he became the first man to climb EI Capitan without ropes or safety equipment. But his mother, Dierdre Wolownick, just became the oldest woman to conquer the famous peak: she reached the top on September 23 — the morning of her 70th birthday. Dierdre, the writer and language teacher, decided to take up climbing as a means to connect more with her son. In 2008, accompanied by her son Alex, she visited a climbing gym and completed 12 routes that first day with his help, but it was months before she worked up the courage to return and practice on her own. Dierdre became committed to the sport, and began to meet friends and sharpen her skills. She scaled (登上) parts of Half Dome and Cathedral peak at a time when many people at her age are thinking about retirement and slowing down. The writer would go on to publish a book about her climbing experiences with Alex called The Sharp End of Life: A Mother’s Story. “As a mother, I am impressed by this role exchange process. Parents and children often wind up changing roles in life as they get older,” she writes in her book. “But never, I thought, is that transformation as obvious as when they climb together.” On September 23, Dierdre and her friends set out in the dark, at 6 am. The route is steep (陡峭的) enough to require all-fours, grabbing rocks and trees and whatever else will hold the weight. Yet despite all difficulties the team made it to the top.“It was really inspiring to watch her and then to have her on top with all of us,” said one of Dierdre’s friends.“There was a special look on everyone’s face. If one falls, the other is there to catch him. His quick action probably saved his friend’s life. “Your partner can save your life. You can save your partner’s life,” Wellman said as the pair received congratulations from friends. “There are real close ties.” 1.Why did the two men never talk about climbing when they first met? A.Corbett was poorly trained. B.Corbett didn’t want to hurt Wellman. C.Wellman had lost interest in climbing. D.Wellman was going in for another sport. 2.What do we know about Wellman? One legend (传奇) dates as far back as the days of the Roman Empire. According to the story, Claudius, the Emperor of Rome, wanted to increase the size of his army. He knew that it would be easier to get young men who were not married to join. Therefore he made a rule that no young man could marry until he had served a certain number of years in the army. He was short and thin. He walked up to the teacher and told her, very seriously, that he was new. It made school difficult for me. At the bottom of the paper were these words, “See what you can do when you keep trying?” 1.What problem did the author meet when he was in class? A.He didn’t like the teacher. B.He was not fond of literature. C.The classroom was too noisy. D.He couldn’t focus his attention in class. 2.What can we learn about Louis Braile from the passage? A.He managed to cure his blindness. B.He got a good education at school. C.He made an invention which helped the blind. D.He couldn’t see and read for the whole life. 3.What’s Mrs. Smith’s attitude to the author in the classroom? A.She encouraged him. B.She looked down on him. C.She sympathized (同情) him. D.She was angry with him. 4.What can we learn from the passage? A.How to be a great teacher. B.Keep trying, and you can do it. C.What should you do as a blind. D.Ways to overcome attention disorder. 【答案】1.D 2.C 3.A 4.B 【分析】本文为记叙文。作者患有一种注意力障碍的病症,不能集中精力于所做的事情,当他想放弃时,受Louise Braile故事和Smith老师的激励,终于克服困难很好地完成论文并得到老师的认可。 1.细节理解题。根据第一段“At thirteen, I was diagnosed (诊断) with kind of attention disorder. It made school difficult for me. Ma still remembers the day when he first saw two big pink birds walking through the water. “I had never seen such pretty birds. They were even taller than me, with long wings,” Ma recalls. He was later told that the birds were flamingos (火烈鸟), which were listed on the International Union for Protection of Nature’s red list of endangered species in 2013. From that day on, Ma started his second career as a volunteer to prevent human beings from interfering with the wildlife. “The birds are attracted by the good environment,” Ma says. “I will do my best to protect the lake so that birds can come here every year.” Yuncheng Salt Lake covers an area of 132 square kilometres and used to serve as a salt production base. As the country began paying more attention to environmental protection, an ecological (生态的) protection and development centre was set up in 2012 to carry out regular ecological protection and restoration (修复) of the lake. “The greatest value of the Salt Lake lies in its ecology, which should be properly restored and protected,” says Chu Xianghao, mayor of the city. The lake area hosts 292 types of wild animals, along with 782 plant varieties, some of which are newly recorded species in the country. After patrolling the lake as volunteer for over four years, Ma was paid by the local government to help with wildlife protection in 2019. “The lake’s ecology is getting better,” Ma says, adding that he looks forward to the arrival of the flamingos every year. “Some of them are my old friends,” he says. 1.Why does Ma patrol Yuncheng Salt Lake every day? So we want to inspire individuals with disabilities by offering the same opportunities and impactful explorations to push their limits and discover their potential,” Darren said. 1.What did Darren learn from his sit-ski experience in Europe? A.Adventurous trips benefit disabled people. B.Physical disabilities never determine a person. C.The disabled deserve support and assistance. D.Teamwork leads to a successful journey. 2.Why does Darren train hard for his scheduled journey to the South Pole? A.To reduce his disability impact. B.To learn basic ski skills quickly. C.To prepare for physical limits. D.To improve his speed on the ski. 3.How does Darren feel about his upcoming trip to the South Pole? A.Positive and determined. B.Stressed and nervous. C.Relieved and encouraged. D.Worried and puzzled. 4.What does Darren want to do by founding Adaptive Expeditions? A.Encourage the disabled to make more friends. B.Teach the disabled to adapt to their daily life. C.Provide life-changing opportunities for the disabled. D.Help the disabled turn hobbies into work. 【答案】1.B 2.C 3.A 4.C 【导语】本文是一篇记叙文。本文主要讲述了Darren Edwards在2023年从高山坠落导致背部受伤、脊髓受损后,依然坚持挑战自我,加入全残疾人团队完成欧洲最大冰盖的无支援穿越,并梦想完成南极探险史上最远的坐姿滑雪之旅。 1.推理判断题。根据文章第二段中的“It was during this trip that he realised he was no longer battling against his limitations. They feel nothing is impossible.” 1.How did Switzer train as a young girl? A.By following a professional plan. B.By joining a cross-country team. C.By keeping running secretly. D.By seeking help from her coach. 2.What can we learn about Switzer in the 1967 marathon? A.She reached her personal best. B.She broke a record set by men. C.She lent a hand to another runner. D.She was the first woman to complete it. 3.What is the result of Switzer’s 1977 running series? A.261 Fearless was founded. B.She won many national honours. C.Women’s marathon entered the Olympics. D.Boston Marathon accepted women runners. 4.What is the best title of the text? A.Kathrine Switzer: A Pioneer in Women's Sports B.The 1967 Boston Marathon: A Race Against Time C.Seeking Possibilities: A Woman of Olympic Spirits D.Breaking Limits: The Story of a Marathon Champion 【答案】1.C 2.D 3.C 4.A 【导语】本文是一篇记叙文。文章主要讲述了Kathrine Switzer如何突破性别限制参与马拉松并推动女性运动发展的故事。 1.细节理解题。由文章第一段中“In high school, she began to take running-more seriously, often training in secret. (1977年,她创立了Avon International Running Circuit,这是一系列全球性的女子赛跑活动,为女子马拉松成为1984年奥运会项目奠定了基础。)”可知,文章主要讲述了Kathrine Switzer作为女性在体育领域的先驱,如何克服重重困难,推动女性参与马拉松等体育活动,并为女性马拉松成为奥运会项目奠定基础的故事。因此,最符合文章主旨的标题是“Kathrine Switzer: A Pioneer in Women’s Sports (Kathrine Switzer:女子体育的先驱)”。故选A。 Passage 3 (24-25高一下·辽宁大连·期中) It’s the time of year when package thefts are on the rise, but when a delivery driver tried to drop off a package at a home in Rogers, a very good dog wanted to make sure that he didn’t leave anything behind. “The FedEx driver dropped off the package, and Nixon ran up and grabbed it and ran it back to the driver,” said Megan Sand, the owner of the dog. 【答案】1.C 2.B 3.A 4.D 【导语】本文是一篇记叙文。文章主要讲述了作者最敬爱的老师Ms. Moore的事迹。 1.细节理解题。根据第二段“One of the memories that always stuck with me was a reading class when Ms. Moore read a story aloud and started to cry. The main character in the story reminded her of her grandmother.(让我印象深刻的记忆之一是在一次阅读课上,Ms. Moore大声朗读了一个故事,然后哭了起来。故事中的主人公使她想起了她的祖母)”可知,Ms. Moore在朗读时因为想到了自己的祖母而伤感哭泣。故选C。 2.细节理解题。根据第三段“It was she that helped my love for reading grow.(是她培养了我对阅读的热爱)”可知,Ms. Moore启发了作者对阅读的热爱。故选B。 3.推理判断题。通读全文,尤其是根据第三段“Ms. Moore tried her best to make a connection with each student in her classroom.(Ms. Moore尽她最大的努力与班上的每个学生建立联系)”和最后一段的“Ms. Moore was a wonderful example of a caring teacher.(Ms. Moore是一位充满爱心的老师的典范)”可知,作者主要讲述了Ms. Moore对教学的热爱、认真负责的态度和对学生的关爱。由此推知,她是一个十分负责和有爱心的人,因此可用responsible和caring描述Ms. Moore。故选A。 4.推理判断题。通读全文,尤其是第一段“Whenever I think of Ms. Anita Moore, I always smile and feel fortunate to have her as my teacher.(每当我想起Anita Moore女士,我总是微笑着,为有她做我的老师而感到幸运)”和最后一段“Ms. Moore was a wonderful example of a caring teacher. From her, I’ve learned to make connections with students and look for ways to help them learn and feel successful.(Ms. Moore是一位充满爱心的老师的典范。从她那里,我学会了与学生建立联系,并寻找帮助他们学习和感受成功的方法)”可知,本文主要讲述了作者对其老师Ms. Moore的一些美好回忆。由此推知,作者写这篇文章的目的是分享她对老师Anita Moore女士的回忆。故选D 主题02 人与自我 Passage 1 (24-25高一下·辽宁·期中) I have to say it is rather uncommon for males of my age to be classical music enthusiasts. 【答案】1.C 2.A 3.B 4.C 【导语】本文是一篇记叙文。文章讲述了作者是如何成为一名古典音乐爱好者的经历以及对古典音乐的感悟。 1.细节理解题。根据第二段第二句“Thinking that it wouldn’t be a bad idea to get me some music to listen to, my parents ordered them without any ambition of developing an interest in classical music or whatsoever. (我父母认为给我买些音乐听听也不错,就订购了那些古典音乐CD,没有任何要培养我对古典音乐产生兴趣之类的想法。)”可知,作者的父母给作者订购古典音乐CD只是觉得让作者听点音乐不是坏事,并没有培养作者对古典音乐兴趣的意图,也就是他们从未强迫作者去热爱音乐。故选C项。 2.推理判断题。根据第三段中的“Thanks to YouTube, I was able to explore more than what my first piano teacher offered — from piano to orchestral music, from Bach to Scriabin. Very often, I didn’t practise the pieces my teacher assigned, but the pieces I truly loved! It’s also through the Internet that I discovered one of my piano idols later, Grigory Sokolov.(多亏了YouTube,我能够探索比我的第一位钢琴老师所提供的更多的音乐——从钢琴音乐到管弦乐,从巴赫到斯克里亚宾。我经常不练习老师布置的曲子,而是练习我真正喜欢的曲子!也是通过网络,我后来发现了我的钢琴偶像之一,格里戈里・索科洛夫。)” 可知,作者通过YouTube探索到了比老师教的更多的音乐,还通过网络发现了自己的钢琴偶像,这说明在线资源使作者收益颇丰。故选A项。 3.推理判断题。根据第四段“I still remember in a 28-day outdoor program in Australia organized by my high school, we weren’t allowed to use our mobile phones and there wasn’t any piano either. What I could only do was to repeatedly recall Chopin’s Preludes (前奏曲) Op. 28 when walking up the hills. I felt peaceful as usual, but even happier with growing enthusiasm for music.(我还记得在我高中组织的一个为期28天的澳大利亚户外项目中,我们不被允许使用手机,也没有钢琴。我唯一能做的就是在爬山的时候反复回忆肖邦的《前奏曲》作品 28 号。我像往常一样感到平静,但对音乐的热情越来越高,也让我更快乐。)”可知,即使在不能使用手机和没有钢琴的情况下,作者仍然不断回忆古典音乐,并且对音乐的热情更高,这表明了他对音乐的热爱。故选B项。 4.推理判断题。根据最后一段“To me, classical music explores the deepest emotions of humanity but can be so humorous as well. The magic of it lies in its ability to cast light on aspects of human conditions and, at the same time, to go beyond the reality. (对我来说,古典音乐探索了人类最深层的情感,但也可以非常幽默。它的神奇之处在于它能够揭示人类生存状况的各个方面,同时又能超越现实。) ”可知,作者认为古典音乐能够洞察人类的生存状况,也就是使人类对生活有深刻的见解。故选C项。 Passage 2 (24-25高一下·吉林·期中) Having lost his eyesight in childhood, countless difficulties once stood in Ang Ziyu’s path as he experienced an academic life. A.Blind student completes college with resilience B.Countless difficulties stand in blind student’s path C.Blind student attends course for bachelor’s degree D.University’s first-ever student with visual disability 【答案】1.B 2.B 3.D 4.A 【导语】本文为一篇记叙文,讲述了有视力障碍的Ang Ziyu通过自己的勇气、决心和韧性完成了大学学习获得学位,并准备攻读硕士的故事。 1.词句猜测题。根据划线词前文“Worries came along with the joy of college admission. Would he be able to take care of himself on campus? Would he be able to learn abstract knowledge in Braille (盲文)? (大学录取的喜悦伴随着忧虑而来。他在校园里能照顾好自己吗?他能用盲文学习抽象知识吗?)”及划线词后文“the graduation requirements four years later (四年后的毕业要求)”可知,此处描述进入大学后的担忧,即,能否达到毕业的要求,meet与此处satisfy“满足”意思相近。故选B。 2.细节理解题。根据文章第三段““Only after a month did I become familiar with the campus roads. I used to buy meals at certain stalls (摊位) in the self-service restaurant because of familiarity, but as a senior now, I would like to try every food I haven’t eaten yet before I leave the college,” Ang said. (Ang说:“一个月后,我才熟悉了校园道路。因为熟悉,我过去常常在自助餐厅的某些摊位上买饭,但现在作为一名大四学生,我想在离开学校之前尝试每一种我还没有吃过的食物。”)”可知,刚开始Ang在特定的摊位上买饭是因为他更熟悉或更能认出了那些摊位。故选B。 3.推理判断题。根据文章第一段“However, in June, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in science and was ready to attend a course for a master’s degree, proving that his courage, determination and resilience (适应力) helped him get over difficulties caused by his visual disability. (然而,今年6月,他获得了理学学士学位,并准备攻读硕士学位,这证明了他的勇气、决心和韧性帮助他克服了视力障碍带来的困难。)”可知,Ang是努力的,他最终获得了学士学位并攻读硕士学位;根据文章第四段“On the one hand, Ang has made some new adjustments to the writing rules of Braille to better deal with the math calculations. (一方面,Ang对盲文的书写规则做了一些新的调整,以更好地处理数学计算。)”可知,Ang能自己做出调整从而更好地进行数学计算说明他适应力强。故选D。 4.主旨大意题。根据文章第一段“However, in June, he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in science and was ready to attend a course for a master’s degree, proving that his courage, determination and resilience (适应力) helped him get over difficulties caused by his visual disability. (然而,今年6月,他获得了理学学士学位,并准备攻读硕士学位,这证明了他的勇气、决心和韧性帮助他克服了视力障碍带来的困难。)”及全文内容可知,本文介绍了有视力障碍的Ang Ziyu通过自己的勇气、决心和韧性完成了大学学习获得学位,并准备攻读硕士的故事。故A选项“失明学生凭借坚韧完成大学学业”适合作为本文最佳标题。故选A。 Passage 3 (24-25高一下·黑龙江·期中) I had a great time with the film Turning Red, which follows Meilin, a thirteen-year-old girl who suddenly begins turning into a giant red panda. 【答案】1.A 2.B 3.C 4.A 【导语】本文是一篇记叙文。作者观看了电影《青春变形记》,电影讲述了13岁的女孩Meilin突然开始变成一只巨大的红色熊猫的故事。文章分析了这部电影的剧情和主题,以及作者对电影的评价。 1.细节理解题。根据文章第二段“It was a joy for me to watch a film that I could relate to.(能看一部与自己有关的电影,我感到很高兴。)”可知,作者喜欢看《青春变形记》是因为她能在故事中找到共鸣。故选A。 2.词句猜测题。根据文章第三段“As soon as they begin to blossom into womanhood, they transform into a giant red panda whenever they express any strong emotion. Thus, they have learned that emotional repression is the way to go.(当她们开始步入成年期,每当她们表达任何强烈的情感时,她们就会变成一只巨大的红色熊猫。因此,她们知道了……情绪是前进的道路。)”可知,女性只要表达出强烈的情感就会变成熊猫,所以她们选择了控制自己的情绪。由此可知,repression的意思是“控制”,与control意思相近。故选B。 3.推理判断题。根据文章最后一段“So we get a conclusion that is satisfying and heart-warming without being too much of a fairy tale.(所以我们得到了一个令人满意和温暖人心的结尾,而不是过于童话般的结尾。)”可知,作者认为电影的结局是现实的。故选C。 4.推理判断题。根据文章第四段“We honor our parents and what they have done for us, but we’re also choosing to be more emotionally healthy and trying to live differently than we were taught.(我们尊重我们的父母和他们为我们所做的一切,但我们也选择更健康的情绪,并试图以与我们被教导的不同的方式生活。)”可知,电影中的Meilin一方面想要尊重父母和他们的文化传统,另一方面又想要追求自己的情感健康和个人发展。A选项“‘我能拥抱真实的自己吗?’”是她面临的两难选择。故选A。 主题03 人与自然 Passage 1 (24-25高一下·黑龙江·期中) Many of us have heard of Alex Honnold, who made history in 2018 when he became the first man to climb EI Capitan without ropes or safety equipment. We knew where we were. We knew how amazing the moment truly was. 1.Why did Dierdre start climbing mountains? A.To know her son better. B.To celebrate her birthday. C.To seek writing inspiration. D.To set an example for the old. 2.Which of the following best describes Dierdre? A.Patient. B.Courageous. C.Intelligent. D.Generous. 3.What does the last paragraph tell about Dierdre’s climbing journey? A.It was worth the efforts. B.It took days to complete. C.It was arranged on her own. D.It required special equipment. 4.What may be a suitable title for the text? A.Mountain climbing benefits health B.Mother goes beyond her son’s wish C.Climb together, bond closer D.Slow down, better your life 【答案】1.A 2.B 3.A 4.C 【导语】这是一篇记叙文。文章讲述了世界级攀岩者Alex Honnold 的母亲迪尔德丽.沃罗尼克,为了更好地了解他,致力于攀岩运动,提高自己的技能, 并于自己70岁生日时攀上了埃尔卡皮坦山的故事。 1.细节理解题。根据文章第二段第一句 “Dierdre, the writer and language teacher, decided to take up climbing as a means to connect more with her son. (迪尔德丽作为作家和语言老师,她决定将攀岩作为一种与儿子建立更多联系的方式)”可知,迪尔德丽开始爬山是因为想更多的了解自己的儿子。故选A 项。 2.推理判断题。根据文章第一段“she reached the top on September 23 — the morning of her 70th birthday (她在9月23日——她70岁生日的早晨登上了顶峰)”可知,迪尔德丽70岁了,还能开始学习攀岩,并登上了高峰。由此推断出她是一个有勇气的人。故选B项。 3.推理判断题。由文章最后一段迪尔德丽的朋友的话“It was really inspiring to watch her and then to have her on top with all of us,” said one of Dierdre’s friends.“There was a special look on everyone’s face. We knew where we were. We knew how amazing the moment truly was.” (迪尔德丽的一个朋友说:“看着她,然后和我们所有人一起站在顶端,这真的很鼓舞人心。” 每个人的脸上都有一种特殊的表情。 我们知道我们在哪里。 我们知道这一刻是多么令人惊叹。”  )可知,尽管他们遇到了很多的困难,但当看到她以及大家脸上高兴的表情,他们知道了他们现在在干什么,此刻是多么的令人惊奇,推断出他们的努力没有白费。故选A项。 4.主旨大意题。本文主要讲述了70岁的Dierdre为了更了解儿子Alex Honnold,毅然选择参与到儿子爱好的登山活动中,并取得了不小的成就,故C项“一起攀登,关系更近”最适合作为本文标题。故选C项。 / 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $
