At the end of my final training run, I threw myself down on the floor the moment I got home, only to see my watch had failed me. Twenty-one miles briefly flashed on the screen before it went blank and disappeared forever. I screamed in pain. That tragic image of me crying on my living room floor pretty much sums up my relationship with exercise tracking technology. It can be a total joy to watch your data change as you get stronger and faster, but sometimes it became a stick for punishment. I would compare my pace with other people’s or criticize myself for not doing it 30 seconds faster. I never really recognized this as a problem. To me, tracking was the route to self-improvement, and the point was to be better. In the past year, “being better” has taken on a different meaning. My mental health dropped, and things like brushing my teeth became unimaginably difficult. Being better stopped meaning getting faster or stronger. It meant taking care of myself and feeling some joy. Once I started getting better, I reflected on what made me happy and what did not. So, I stopped tracking my runs and deleted all the data. I then found I genuinely love running. I run around my local park with a silly little smile. But I do not love running quickly. I do not like races. I do not want to be pushed to be faster. I now notice how my legs feel and how my mind feels afterwards — clear and focused. I notice the smell of the wild plants and the sunshine on my face. I am better. Sometimes I am worse. But either way I’m moving forward slowly and firmly, and that’s good enough. 24. What happened when the author got home after the final training run? A. She deleted all the data on her watch. B. Her watch broke down. C. She fell on the floor due to pain. D. Her watch failed to record her pace. 25. What changed the author’s attitude towards exercise tracking? A. Her thirst for running casually. B. Her comparison with others. C. Her self-improvement determination. D. Her shift in personal priorities. 26. What does “being better” mean to the author now? A. Getting pleasure out of winning races. B. Being more focused on her speed. C. Improving her overall well-being. D. Freeing herself from school tasks. 27. What can we conclude from this passage? A. Adjustment brings happiness. B. Passion is the key to success. C. Sports contribute to happiness. D. Success equals self-improvement. C Proper questioning has become a lost art. The curious four-year-old asks a lot of questions—incessant streams of “Why?” and “Why not?” might sound familiar—but as we grow older, our questioning decreases. In a recent survey of more than 200 of our clients, we found that those with children estimated that 70-80% of their kids’ dialogues with others were comprised of questions. But those same clients said that only 15-25% of their own interactions consisted of questions. Why the drop off? Think back to your time growing up and in school. Chances are that you received the most recognition or reward when you got the correct answers. Later in life, that motivator continues. At work, we often reward those who answer questions, not those who ask them. Questioning conventional wisdom can even lead to being distanced, or considered a threat. Because expectations for decision-making have gone from “get it done soon” to “get it done now” to “it should have been done yesterday”, we tend to jump to conclusions instead of asking more questions. And the unfortunate side effect of not asking enough questions is poor decision-making. That’s why it’s vital that we slow down and take the time to ask more and better questions. At best, we’ll arrive at better conclusions. At worst, we’ll avoid a lot of rework later on. Aside from not speaking up enough many professionals don’t think about how different types of questions can lead to different outcomes. We should lead a conversation by asking the right kinds of questions, based on the problem we’re trying to solve. In some cases, we’ll want to expand our view of the problem rather than keeping it narrowly focused. In others, we may want to challenge basic assumptions or confirm our understanding in order to feel more confident in our conclusions. Therefore, asking the right kinds of questions is what counts in achieving a goal. 28. What does the underlined word “incessant” in paragraph 1 most probably mean? A. Simple. B. Random. C. Constant. D. Annoying. 29. What accounts for the decline of questioning in adulthood? A. One poses a threat to the company if they ask questions. B. Adults don’t get as many chances as they did in childhood. C. Those who question popular beliefs are thought to be wise. D. Those asking questions don’t always get positive feedback. 30 What can we infer from paragraph 3? A. Redoing is unavoidable despite thoughtful questions. B. Decisions made in a hurry may turn out to be wrong. C. Better questions can surely bring desirable outcomes. D. More attention should be paid to making conclusions. 31. What might the author continue talking about? A. Proper questions that should be raised. B. Important goals that we are to achieve. C. Right kinds of answers to the questions. D. Ways to expand our view of the problem. D Humanoid robots have been a part of science fiction for decades. While this technology has yet to make waves, several companies are already competing for dominance, and one of them is Unitree. The company recently introduced its all-new humanoid robot, the G1, which can perform various tasks and is flexible enough to do a standing long jump and practice Kung Fu. Founded in 2016, Unitree Robotics, officially known as Hangzhou Yushu Technology, is a Chinese robotics company specializing in developing, manufacturing, and selling high-performance robots for industrial and commercial applications. While companies like Boston Dynamics also make similar robots, Unitree differentiates (区别) itself on a few key metrics (指标). First, its robots are significantly more affordable thanks to the internal development of core components like controllers and AI models. Additionally, Unitree has open-sourced its training datasets and reinforcement (强化) learning frameworks for robots like the G1 and H1. For many years, we’ve seen some robots performing actions like walking, bar-tending (倒酒), and serving food. While they have been impressive, these robots often lacked natural movement. This is exactly where the Unitree G1 shines. Weighing around 35 kg and standing at 130 cm, the G1 comes in various versions with 23 to 43 degrees of freedom, tailored to different application needs. Plus, the robot’s 3D LiDAR sensor, combined with a depth sensor and multiple microphones, allows it to be highly aware of its surroundings and make informed decisions. In a recent video, Unitree showcased its G1 robot skipping rope like a regular human. The robot, which can run up to 4.5 mph, also demonstrated training in Kung Fu with humans while performing some tricky moves. Additionally, thanks to its flexible hands, the G1 can perform precise tasks such as solving a Rubik’s cube and turning book pages. The robot runs on a 9,000 mAh battery, which provides up to two hours of operation. The Unitree G1 represents a major leap forward in robotics. As the company continues to improve its robots, we’ll move closer to a future where they are part of our daily lives and relieve humans of repetitive work. 32. What can be learnt about Unitree from paragraph 3? A. It is the first high-end humanoid robots company. B. It avoids competition with Boston Dynamics. C. It can afford internal core components for production. D. It shares resources openly to promote robotics development. 33. What does paragraph 5 mainly talk about? A. The G1’s outstanding capabilities. B. The G1’s production process. C. The G1’s development history. D. The G1’s marketing strategy. 34. What does the author think of the Unitree G1? A. It can make decisions like humans. B. It has unlimited applications. C. It is a leading product in robotics. D. It is part of human life. 35. What is the author’s purpose in writing the text? A. To introduce the development history of Unitree. B. To compare Unitree with other robotics companies. C. To discuss the future of humanoid robots in daily life. D. To showcase the features and potential of the Unitree G1. Studying for exams long hours or repeated exposure to a stressful situation may lead to burnout To me they mean growth under the care of others. I learned this the hard way. I used to be very shy and often felt lonely. Although I did well in all the academic subjects, I feared physical education. My classmates often laughed at me. “Look at that girl,” they said. “Her feet don’t leave the ground when she runs!” Their words embarrassed me. Things would go on like that if not for a sports meet in my high school. My name was on the list of those competing in the women’s 1,500-meter race by mistake. When people found the mistake, it was too late to change. My deskmate was a natural athlete. She said, “I couldn’t run that race in your place, because I’ve already signed up for three items (项目).” Other athletic girls in the class said the same. I was utterly dumbfounded (目瞪口呆). 1,500 meters! Running against the best runners from other classes! And in front of students of the entire school! It would be the worst nightmare I’d ever have! “Don’t lose heart. You still have time to catch up because there is still one month before the sports meet,” they all told this to me, including my teacher. My deskmate patted me on the shoulder, “Cool! You will run for our class! And we will do training together.” “Yes, this is not just for me, but for my class, too,” I said to myself. But still, 1,500 meters to me was like Mount Qomolangma to a beginning climber. I had no idea even how to start my preparation. Fortunately, my deskmate gave me a hand. Every afternoon after class, several of us ran together. When I feared being laughed at, I saw others running beside me. They gave me strengths. While we were running, some others would stand by the tracks, cheering for us. Despite my efforts and others’ encouragement, I knew one month certainly couldn’t make me a good runner. However, standing behind the start line, I no longer felt lonely or afraid. Para.1: Finally, the sports meet arrived. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Para. 2:Despite the cheering of my classmates, I was almost the last to cross the finish line. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 第1页/共1页 学科网(北京)股份有限公司 $ 河南省信阳高级中学新校(贤岭校区)、老校(文化街校区) 2025-2026学年高一下期03月测试(二) 英语试题 考生注意: 1. How much is the shirt? It brings $20 billion to the economy every year — it’s a massive industry. It also supports over 100,000 jobs. M: Wow. Have you heard some surf spots are in trouble? W: Sadly, yes. Surf breaks face issues from climate change and coastal development. M: Are there any countries stepping in to help? W: New Zealand and Peru have protection rules, but Australia’s measures are insufficient. Unlike New Zealand’s legal ban on coastal construction near breaks or Peru’s fines against damaging activities like illegal fishing, Australia lacks comparable nationwide protections for its surf spots. 11. We don’t have to check each plant by hand anymore. W: That’s incredible! How do they work? M: They use AI, like a smart brain. They take pictures of the crops and send the data to technicians. Then the experts tell us how to grow better or fight pests. W: So we don’t have to guess about problems anymore? M: Exactly. The dogs handle the tough work, and science provides the answers. Last year, they found a pest problem early in the tomatoes before it spread. W: Do they replace us? M: No, they help us. We still manage the farms. But now we have smart helpers. The tech even tells us when to water or fertilize based on the data. W: I hope our village gets these dogs too. It would make farming easier and greener. M: Yeah, modern farming is getting pretty cool. 14. How did people probably feel yesterday? A. Upset. B. Excited. C. Worried. 15. It’s not that village cafes have low prices or excellent service, but that they offer people peace and unique experiences. For example, Zheng Shiying drove 130 km from Beijing to a village cafe housed in an old stone building, preferring its quietness to that of city coffee shops. Ye Zhongwen’s Red Guan Coffee in Dongguan, set in an old house by railway tracks, attracts visitors from a long distance away, even Hong Kong, proving that remote locations can be appealing. These cafes help local economies grow. They attract tourists to buy farm products. In Zhejiang’s Quzhou, the Sheep Shed Cafe, transformed from an old shed into “Young People Coffee”, is run by an art graduate. It now features a pool, stage, and camping area, welcoming 5,000 visitors daily during peak seasons. In 2022, “village cafes” began to emerge and gain attention. Three years later, there are over 40,000 village cafes across China. A Potala Palace Travel Guide Travel Tips ● The travel route is set strictly. ● The visiting time is limited in 1 hour. ● Watch your steps due to the high altitude. ● Bring along an overcoat as it is a bit cold in the hall. B 25. D 26. C 27. 根据第二段“At the end of my final training run, I threw myself down on the floor the moment I got home, only to see my watch had failed me. Twenty-one miles briefly flashed on the screen before it went blank and disappeared forever.(在最后一次训练结束后,我一回到家就立刻瘫坐在地上,却发现我的手表出故障了。屏幕上短暂闪过21英里的数字,随后便一片空白,再也消失不见)”可知,在最后一次跑步训练后,作者的手表坏了,上面的数据消失了。故选B。 【25题详解】 推理判断题。根据第四段“My mental health dropped, and things like brushing my teeth became unimaginably difficult. Being better stopped meaning getting faster or stronger. It meant taking care of myself and feeling some joy. Once I started getting better, I reflected on what made me happy and what did not. So, I stopped tracking my runs and deleted all the data.(我的心理健康状况变差了,就连刷牙这样的小事也变得异常困难。康复不再意味着跑得更快或更强壮,而是意味着照顾好自己并获得一些快乐。一旦我开始好转起来,我就思考了哪些事情能让我感到快乐,哪些事情则不能。于是,我停止了记录跑步数据,并删除了所有的数据)”可知,作者精神健康下降,后来意识到情绪快乐才是自己首先需要的,由此改变了对锻炼记录的看法。故选D。 【26题详解】 细节理解题。根据第四段“Being better stopped meaning getting faster or stronger. It meant taking care of myself and feeling some joy.(康复不再意味着跑得更快或更强壮,而是意味着照顾好自己并获得一些快乐)”可知,作者现在认为“变得更好”是要照顾自己,提高精神健康。故选C。 【27题详解】 推理判断题。根据第三段“To me, tracking was the route to self-improvement, and the point was to be better.(对我来说,追踪记录就是实现自我提升的途径,关键在于要变得更好)”,第四段“Being better stopped meaning getting faster or stronger. It meant taking care of myself and feeling some joy.(变得更好不再意味着跑得更快或更强壮,而是意味着照顾好自己并获得一些快乐)”和最后一段中的“But either way I’m moving forward slowly and firmly, and that’s good enough.(但不管怎样,我都在稳步坚定地向前迈进,这就足够了)”可知,作者从前追踪自己的训练数据到后来改善整体健康状况的改变和调整让自己爱上了跑步。 A。 C Proper questioning has become a lost art. Aside from not speaking up enough, many professionals don’t think about how different types of questions can lead to different outcomes. 30. What can we infer from paragraph 3? 【答案】28 C 29. D 30. B 31. 根据第二段“Think back to your time growing up and in school. Chances are you received the most recognition or reward when you got the correct answers. Later in life, that motivator continues. At work, we often reward those who answer questions, not those who ask them.(回想一下你在学校的成长过程。当你得到正确答案时,你可能会得到最多的认可或奖励。在以后的生活中,这种动力会继续存在。在工作中,我们经常奖励那些回答问题的人,而不是那些提出问题的人)”可知,提问题的人不一定能得到积极的反馈是致了成年后提问的减少的原因。故选D。 【30题详解】 推理判断题。根据第三段“Because expectations for decision-making have gone from “get it done soon” to “get it done now” to “it should have been done yesterday”, we tend to jump to conclusions instead of asking more questions. And the unfortunate side effect of not asking enough questions is poor decision-making.(因为对决策的期望已经从“尽快完成”变成了“现在完成”,再变成了“昨天就应该完成”,我们倾向于直接下结论,而不是问更多的问题。没有问足够多的问题的副作用是糟糕的决策)”可知,匆忙做出的决定可能会被证明是错误的。故选B。 【31题详解】 推理判断题。根据最后一段“Therefore, asking the right kinds of questions is what counts in achieving a goal.(因此,问正确的问题是实现目标的关键)”可知,接下来要讨论应该提出适当的问题。故选A。 D Humanoid robots have been a part of science fiction for decades. To me, they mean growth under the care of others. 注意: 1. 续写词数应为80个左右; 2. 请按如下格式在答题卡的相应位置作答。 Para.1: Finally, the sports meet arrived. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Para. 2:Despite the cheering of my classmates, I was almost the last to cross the finish line. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ 【答案】 Para.1: Finally, the sports meet arrived. After what seemed like a decade, the 1,500-meter race began. With the starting whistle blowing, I dashed out and ran at full speed. Though I didn’t fall behind and even passed over several runners in the first lap, I was running out of strength and finding it difficult to breathe in the second lap. When I couldn’t feel my legs and wanted to quit in the third lap, I heard my classmates cheering for me, some of whom even came to run beside me. This boosted my courage and confidence again. I gritted my teeth and ran on. Para.2: Despite the cheering of my classmates, I was almost the last to cross the finish line. Immediately, some classmates crowded around me, took my arms to support me, and urged me to walk on my feet instead of sitting down. Warmth surged through my heart as I was greeted with no blame but heartfelt praise. Although I failed to win the race, I gained great confidence in my potential and respect from my classmates. From then on, I began to see sports in a different light. I no longer feared physical education. Besides, I would help my classmates with their practice, just like what they had done for me. 词汇激活 行为类 ①冲出去:dash out/rush out ②超过:pass over/overtake/go past ③放弃:quit/give up/drop out 情绪类 ①勇气:courage/bravery ②信心:confidence/self-confidence/faith in oneself 【点睛】【高分句型1】Though I didn’t fall behind and even passed over several runners in the first lap, I was running out of strength and finding it difficult to breathe in the second lap.
