Hello everyone, I’m Alex Johnson. And I suppose you all know that we’re gathered here to celebrate ten years of the Horizon youth program. I understand many of you volunteer at the shelter or teach at the Horizon day school. And there are numerous others who contribute financially to the program, which is equally crucial. Everyone who has benefited from the program is deeply grateful to all of you. The program virtually saved my life. I became homeless when I was fifteen and lived on the streets. Even worse, I once broke the law. Eventually, the police station contacted a volunteer from Horizon, and the volunteer enrolled me in the program. They provided me with shelter, a part-time job, and assisted me in obtaining my high school diploma. Now, I’m attending college and working part-time at the Horizon shelter, where I encounter troubled youth who are much younger than I once was. So, I witness daily the impact of your generosity on homeless individuals. Next, I’d like to introduce the remarkable woman who is responsible for all of this. The President, Laura Harris, will share with us the story of the founding of the Horizon youth program.
A
Most passwords are still weak. A study by Specops found that 98.5% of real-world passwords are objectively weak. Only 1.5% of passwords made it into the “strong” zone, defined as being at least 15 characters long and using two or more character types. Only 3.3% of passwords were longer than 15 characters. This means that most passwords can be cracked quickly using inexpensive powerful computer tools.
The most common passwords were eight characters long with just two character types, such as “Summer22” or “Office99”. About 8% of all passwords fell into this dangerously basic zone. Close behind were eight-character passwords with only one character type, most often letters alone, and in many cases lowercase letters only. These accounted for another 7.6% of all passwords.
When password length is held constant, security depends largely on the variety of characters used. The table below illustrates this effect.
Character set
Size of set
Total combinations
How long to crack?
15 characters password of lowercase only (a-z)
26
2615~1. 68×1021
Easily cracked with powerful tools in days or weeks
15 characters password of lowercase + uppercase (a-z, A-Z)
52
5215~2. 53×1025
Much harder to crack, but still possible over time
15 characters password of alphanumeric (a-z, A-Z, 0-9)
62
6215~7. 70×1026
Very strong passwords for most practical use cases
15 characters password of all printable characters (a-z, A-Z, 0-9, symbols)
94
9415~2. 25×1029
Nearly impossible to crack
In addition to character variety, password length also plays an important role in security. Using passwords of 16 to 20 characters with at least two different character types-letters, numbers, or symbols-pushes the number of possible combinations into the trillions. Even high- end cracking farms would take years or centuries to break them. In reality, however, weak passwords are still very common. As Darren James, Senior Product Manager at Specops, notes, “Many users are still low-hanging fruit for online thieves, who can crack their passwords in seconds.”
21.What percentage of passwords are the most common type?
A.1.5%. B.3.3%. C.7.6%. D.8%.
22.What is the main factor the table compares?
A.The size of set. B.Use of letters.
C.The cracking method. D.Password length.
23.Why does the author quote Darren James?
A.To introduce his company. B.To warn the online thieves.
C.To stress the worrying reality. D.To criticize users for poor choices.
【答案】21.D 22.A 23.C
根据第二段“The most common passwords were eight characters long with just two character types, such as “Summer22” or “Office99”. About 8% of all passwords fell into this dangerously basic zone.(最常见的密码长度均为8个字符,且仅包含两种字符类型,例如“Summer22”或“Office99”。约8%的所有密码都处于这种极其简单的危险区域)”可知,最常见的密码占密码总数的百分比的8%。故选D。
22.细节理解题。根据第三段“When password length is held constant, security depends largely on the variety of characters used. The table below illustrates this effect.(当密码长度保持不变时,安全性主要取决于所使用的字符种类的多样性。下面的表格说明了这一现象)”以及表格第一列:Character set,第二列:Size of set,可知,整表都是在对比:不同字符集大小→组合数多少→破解时间。故选A。
根据最后一段“In reality, however, weak passwords are still very common. As Darren James, Senior Product Manager at Specops, notes, “Many users are still low-hanging fruit for online thieves, who can crack their passwords in seconds.”(然而实际上,弱密码仍然非常常见。正如Specops公司的高级产品经理达伦·詹姆斯所指出的那样:“许多用户仍然是网络窃贼容易下手的目标,他们能在几秒钟内破解这些密码。”)”可知,作者引用达伦·詹姆斯的话以强调这一令人担忧的现实。故选C。
B
Dr. Punam Krishan is a general practitioner — a GP — one of the doctors who stand on the front line of medicine. GPs treat everyday illnesses, listen carefully to patients’ concerns, and decide when special medical care is needed. Beyond her work in clinics, Dr. Krishan is also a familiar face on television and the author of several books, including How to Be a Doctor and Other Life-Saving Jobs, You and Your Body, and her latest release, The Superhero’s First Aid Manual.
Her journey into medicine began with caring for others. “It started off with me wanting to help people understand themselves better,” she once explained. She often noticed when someone looked unwell and felt driven to ask why. That quiet curiosity led her deeper into science, even when it was challenging, and eventually toward a life dedicated to healing others.
To Dr. Krishan, being a GP is “one of the most incredible jobs in the world”. Every day, she meets people from different backgrounds and at different stages of life. With only ten minutes per patient, she must listen closely, read between the lines, and uncover the truth behind their symptoms, “It makes me feel a bit like a detective,” she said. Patients may arrive with one problem or many, and finding the right answer brings a sense of excitement that never fades. She describes her role as being “a bit of a best friend to people”.
Her newest book was shaped by a deeply personal loss. When she was a child, her grandfather died, and for years she worried she had missed signs that he was unwell. That experience stayed with her and formed a powerful belief: recognizing illness can be a life-saving skill, even for children. Through her book, she teaches young readers to recognize emergencies such as allergic reactions or heart attacks, and to take simple but vital steps — staying calm, calling 999, or placing someone in the recovery position. For Dr. Krishan, heroism begins with care, courage, and knowledge. “Children should know the basics of how to be a superhero in that moment,” she added.
24.What can we learn about Dr. Krishan from the first paragraph?
A.She takes on multiple roles. B.She excels in detailed work.
C.She takes pleasure in reading. D.She aims for public recognition.
25.Why did Dr. Krishan dive into science?
A.To tackle the scientific challenges. B.To make up for her childhood regret.
C.To observe the lives of patients better. D.To find explanations for what she observed.
26.How does Dr. Krishan find her work as a GP?
A.Fast-paced but fulfilling. B.Stressful but stable.
C.Challenging but well-paid. D.Exhausting but promising.
27.What does Dr. Krishan’s experience indicate according to the last paragraph?
A.Better late than never. B.Fix the roof before it rains.
C.Time and tide wait for no man. D.Opportunity favors the prepared mind.
【答案】24.A 25.D 26.A 27.B
根据第一段中“Beyond her work in clinics, Dr. Krishan is also a familiar face on television and the author of several books, (除了在诊所工作外,克里尚博士也是电视上的熟面孔,她还写了几本书)”可知,克里尚博士不仅是一名全科医生,还在电视上露面,并且是几本书的作者,由此可知,她扮演着多个角色。故选A。
根据第二段中“She often noticed when someone looked unwell and felt driven to ask why. That quiet curiosity led her deeper into science, (她经常注意到有人看起来不舒服,就会忍不住问为什么。这种安静的好奇心驱使她更深入地研究科学)”可知,克里尚博士对观察到的事物感到好奇,想要找到解释,因此她深入研究了科学。故选D。
26.推理判断题。根据第三段中“With only ten minutes per patient, she must listen closely, read between the lines, and uncover the truth behind their symptoms, (每位病人只有十分钟的时间,她必须仔细倾听,从字里行间理解,并揭示他们症状背后的真相)”以及“Patients may arrive with one problem or many, and finding the right answer brings a sense of excitement that never fades. (病人可能带着一个问题或多个问题来,找到正确的答案会带来一种永远不会消退的兴奋感)”可知,克里尚博士的工作节奏很快,但她觉得很有成就感。故选A。
根据最后一段中“When she was a child, her grandfather died, and for years she worried she had missed signs that he was unwell. That experience stayed with her and formed a powerful belief: recognizing illness can be a life-saving skill, even for children.(当她还是个孩子的时候,她的祖父去世了,多年来她一直担心自己错过了祖父身体不适的迹象。这段经历一直伴随着她,并形成了一个坚定的信念:识别疾病可以成为一种拯救生命的技能,即使对儿童来说也是如此)”可知,克里尚博士小时候的经历让她意识到识别疾病的重要性,因此她通过写书来教育年轻读者识别紧急情况并采取简单的急救措施,这体现了“未雨绸缪”的理念。故选B。
C
Everyone has heard that it’s vital to get seven to nine hours of sleep a night. Get anything less, and you are more likely to suffer from poor health in the short and long term. But in recent years, scientists have discovered a rare group of people who consistently get little shut-eye and are no worse for wear.
Natural short sleepers, as they are called, are genetically wired to need only four to six hours of sleep a night. These exceptions suggest that quality, not quantity, is what matters. If scientists could figure out what these people do differently, it might, they hope, provide insight into sleep’s very nature.
Ying-Hui Fu, a human geneticist and neuroscientist at UC San Francisco, recalls there is one family whose members woke up early but didn’t go to bed early, and felt refreshed after only about six hours of sleep. They were the first people identified with familial natural short sleep, a condition that runs in families like other genetic features. Fu and her colleague Ptaček thought the short sleep originated from a mutation (变异) in a gene called DEC2. The researchers went on to genetically engineer the DEC2 mutation into mice, showing that the animals need less sleep than their littermates.
Over time, the researchers have identified seven genes associated with natural short sleep. Like mice, people who are naturally short sleepers seem to be immune (免疫的) to the ill effects of short sleep. If anything, they do extraordinarily well. Research suggests that such people are ambitious, energetic and optimistic, with remarkable recoverability against stress and higher thresholds (阈值) for pain.
But though sleep has a strong genetic component, it can also be shaped by the environment. Knowing that better sleep is possible, and understanding the basis, could point the way to interventions to improve sleep, enabling more people to live longer, healthier lives.
28.What does the underlined part “no worse for wear” in paragraph 1 mean?
A.Unharmed. B.Uncomfortable.
C.Abnormal. D.Exhausted.
29.What can we know about the mentioned family in paragraph 3?
A.They are early to bed and early to rise.
B.Their sleep quality depends on the quantity.
C.They are genetically built to require less sleep.
D.DEC2 is a decisive factor in their health condition.
30.What is the ultimate goal of this research?
A.To develop tools for editing sleep genes.
B.To improve sleep quality for better health.
C.To identify specific sleep-related genes.
D.To create universal sleep reduction programs.
31.What can be a suitable title for the text?
A.Less Shut-Eye, Better Health
B.Sleep Quality and Gene Mutation
C.The ones Who Need Less Sleep
D.The Hidden Costs of Short Sleep
【答案】28.A 29.C 30.B 31.C
根据划线词组上文“Everyone has heard that it’s vital to get seven to nine hours of sleep a night. Get anything less, and you are more likely to suffer from poor health in the short and long term. But in recent years, scientists have discovered a rare group of people who consistently get little shut-eye(每个人都听说过,每晚保证7到9小时的睡眠至关重要。 故选A。
根据第三段“Fu and her colleague Ptaček thought the short sleep originated from a mutation (变异) in a gene called DEC2. The researchers went on to genetically engineer the DEC2 mutation into mice, showing that the animals need less sleep than their littermates.(傅和她的同事帕塔切克认为这种短暂的睡眠现象是由一种名为DEC2的基因发生突变所导致的。随后,研究人员通过基因工程技术将DEC2基因的突变引入到小鼠体内,结果发现这些小鼠所需的睡眠时间比其同窝幼崽要短)”可知,第三段开头提到的家庭天生就具有较少需要睡眠,这是基因所致。故选C。
30.推理判断题。根据最后一段“Knowing that better sleep is possible, and understanding the basis, could point the way to interventions to improve sleep, enabling more people to live longer, healthier lives.(既然我们知道改善睡眠是有可能的,并且也了解其背后的原理,那么这或许能为改善睡眠的干预措施提供方向,从而让更多人能够过上更长寿、更健康的生活)”可推知,这个研究最终是为了提高睡眠质量,从而促进身体健康。故选B。
根据第一段“But in recent years, scientists have discovered a rare group of people who consistently get little shut-eye and are no worse for wear.(但近年来,科学家们发现了一群罕见的人群,他们几乎从不睡足觉,但却依然未受影响)”可知,本文介绍了研究发现,少数人因基因突变只需4-6小时睡眠且健康,科学家希望通过解码其机制改善大众睡眠质量。
D
Climate change is causing rising temperatures and extreme weather events. What if there were a way to cool Earth by reflecting the Sun?
In 2022, the US company Make Sunsets released two weather balloons above Baja California in Mexico. These balloons, when reaching a certain height, burst open, spreading sulfur dioxide particles (二氧化硫颗粒) across the sky, thus creating a bright mist in the sky that reflects sunlight. A similar weather balloon test flight was launched in the UK. This method belongs to solar geoengineering, a process of bouncing sunlight back into space. Other approaches include installing reflectors on satellites, though these are more technically complex.
In a world of rising temperatures, dimming the Sun is an immediate way to cool the planet. Luke Iseman, the founder of Make Sunsets, claims that without solar geoengineering there are no other realistic choices to stay below 2℃, beyond which many effects of climate change will be irreversible Studies have confirmed its effectiveness: a 2022 Yale study suggested reflecting sunlight could slow sea-level rise and help restore polar ice. Financially, it is also more possible: the estimated annual cost is around $10 billion, far lower than the trillions of dollars required for a full global transition to renewable energy.
However, over 380 scientists worldwide have opposed the technology. Some warn that interfering with the weather may disrupt rainfall patterns, triggering droughts in some regions and floods in others. Since its effects are not limited to participating nations, conflicts between countries could arise. Additionally, experts argue that it might encourage polluters to continue burning fossil fuels. There is also concern about long-term maintenance: if solar geoengineering is stopped suddenly, Earth could face a sharp temperature surge, severely harming wildlife.
Given its potential benefits and significant risks, solar geoengineering requires cautious evaluation. Governments, scientists, and global organizations should cooperate to conduct thorough research, assess its long-term impacts, and establish strict regulatory frameworks before any large-scale implementation.
32.What is the function of the balloons released by Make Sunsets?
A.To absorb sulfur dioxide particles.
B.To form a sunlight-reflecting mist.
C.To monitor extreme weather changes.
D.To help install sunlight reflectors.
33.What’s the advantage of solar geoengineering over renewable energy transition according to the text?
A.It is more affordable.
B.It is more eco-friendly.
C.It is easier to carry out.
D.It is more accessible.
34.What can we infer from paragraph 4 about solar geoengineering?
A.It may reduce the use of oil.
B.It may cause damage to satellites.
C.It mainly benefits nations involved.
D.It may affect rainfall distribution.
35.What’s the author’s attitude to dimming the Sun?
A.Supportive. B.Opposed.
C.Objective. D.Doubtful.
【答案】32.B 33.A 34.D 35.C
根据第二段中“These balloons, when reaching a certain height, burst open, spreading sulfur dioxide particles (二氧化硫颗粒) across the sky, thus creating a bright mist in the sky that reflects sunlight. (这些气球在到达一定高度时会爆开,将二氧化硫颗粒散布到天空中,从而在天空中形成一层能够反射阳光的明亮薄雾)”可知,这些气球的功能是形成能反射阳光的薄雾。故选B项。
33.细节理解题。根据第三段中“Financially, it is also more possible: the estimated annual cost is around $10 billion, far lower than the trillions of dollars required for a full global transition to renewable energy. (从财务上看,它也更可行:估计每年成本约为100亿美元,远低于全球完全向可再生能源转型所需的数万亿美元)”可知,与向可再生能源转型相比,太阳地球工程的优势在于其成本更低,即更经济。故选A项。
根据第四段中“Some warn that interfering with the weather may disrupt rainfall patterns, triggering droughts in some regions and floods in others.
最后一段作者总结道“Given its potential benefits and significant risks, solar geoengineering requires cautious evaluation. (鉴于其潜在的好处和重大风险,太阳地球工程需要谨慎评估)”,并建议进行深入研究、评估和建立监管框架。全文没有表现出明显的个人支持或反对倾向,而是平衡地呈现了问题的两面性,并提出了审慎的建议。因此,作者的态度是客观的。故选C项。
第二节(共5小题;每小题2.5分,满分12.5分)
阅读下面短文,从短文后的选项中选出可以填入空白处的最佳选项。选项中有两项为多余选项。
It’s well-documented that reading teaches kids more than just new facts. Reading aloud to babies activates parts of their brain that support mental imagery and help them gain meaning from language. 36 But despite the established benefits of reading, books aren’t accessible to everyone.
In a 2018 study, researchers in New York University placed book vending (销售) machines in poor communities where children’s books are rare or nonexistent. 37 What about libraries? The researchers asked participants about how they used local libraries and found that they were “rarely seen as an option”.
38 This is a time when school and early childhood programs are not in session. As a result, disadvantaged children fall behind academically during this “seasonal summer slide”, widening the gap between them and the disadvantaged kids.
The researchers set out to see how vending machines in four low-income neighborhoods would affect family reading patterns and the academic downslide over summer. The machines were put in the neighborhoods for eight weeks. 39 More than 64,000 free books were popped out to 26,200 unique readers over the course of the summer. And the other 38,235 were repeat users.
However, the vending machines weren’t enough to get children uninterested in reading to pick up a book. Forty percent of passersby visited but didn’t make a selection. “Our findings suggest that only having one side of the equation — access to books or adult support — is not enough,” said co-author Susan B.Neuman. “Children need access to books in their neighborhoods. 40 ”
A.They turned out quite popular.
B.The machines provide more books than libraries.
C.Families in these areas don’t have enough access to books.
D.Adults need to create an environment that inspires reading.
E.It also reduces the risk of children having behavior problems.
F.This problem of access to books is worsened over the summer.
G.The authors conducted a series of questionnaires and interviews.

36.上文“It’s well-documented that reading teaches kids more than just new facts. Reading aloud to babies activates parts of their brain that support mental imagery and help them gain meaning from language. (有充分证据表明,阅读教给孩子的不仅仅是新的知识。给婴儿朗读能激活他们大脑中支持心理意象的区域,帮助他们从语言中获取意义)”阐述了阅读对儿童的好处,下文“But despite the established benefits of reading, books aren’t accessible to everyone. (但尽管阅读的益处已得到证实,并非所有人都能轻易获得书籍)”以转折引出书籍获取的问题。E项“这还能降低儿童出现行为问题的风险”承上启下,“also”进一步补充阅读的益处,与前文介绍的阅读优势构成并列关系,同时通过与下文的转折衔接,凸显出“虽有诸多好处,但书籍获取存在障碍”的逻辑,符合语境。故选E。
37.上文“In a 2018 study, researchers in New York University placed book vending (销售) machines in poor communities where children’s books are rare or nonexistent. (在2018年的一项研究中,纽约大学的研究者在儿童书籍稀缺甚至没有的贫困社区投放了书籍自助售卖机)”介绍了研究背景和举措,下文“What about libraries? The researchers asked participants about how they used local libraries and found that they were “rarely seen as an option”. (那图书馆呢?研究者询问了参与者使用当地图书馆的情况,发现图书馆“很少被视为一种选择”)”提及图书馆未被青睐的现状。C项“这些地区的家庭没有足够的渠道获取书籍”承上启下,“these areas”指代上文的“poor communities”,解释了在这些社区投放书籍售卖机的原因,同时为下文探讨图书馆不受重视的内容做铺垫,逻辑连贯。故选C。
38.下文“This is a time when school and early childhood programs are not in session. As a result, disadvantaged children fall behind academically during this “seasonal summer slide”, widening the gap between them and the advantaged kids.
39.上文“The researchers set out to see how vending machines in four low-income neighborhoods would affect family reading patterns and the academic downslide over summer. The machines were put in the neighborhoods for eight weeks. (研究者着手研究在四个低收入社区投放的自助售卖机,会对家庭阅读模式和暑期学业下滑产生怎样的影响。这些售卖机在社区投放了八周时间)”介绍了研究的观察目标和投放时长,下文“More than 64,000 free books were popped out to 26,200 unique readers over the course of the summer. And the other 38,235 were repeat users. (整个夏天,超过64000本免费书籍被发放给了26200名不同的读者,还有38235人是重复借阅的用户)”用具体数据体现了售卖机的使用情况。A项“这些售卖机结果证明非常受欢迎”承上启下,“they”指代上文的“vending machines”,概括了售卖机的整体使用效果,同时下文的具体数据正是对“受欢迎”这一结论的有力佐证,逻辑通顺。故选A。
40.上文“However, the vending machines weren’t enough to get children uninterested in reading to pick up a book. Forty percent of passersby visited but didn’t make a selection. “Our findings suggest that only having one side of the equation — access to books or adult support — is not enough,” said co-author Susan B. Neuman. “Children need access to books in their neighborhoods.

Coach Harper announced the school’s Spring Relay and invited families to join practices so everyone could learn the meaning of teamwork. My best friend Ruby immediately pulled me into signing up with Lucas, who was always athletic and energetic. My dad promised to attend every practice, calling himself our “team booster”.
On the first day, practices soon filled with energy. Ruby’s dad, Lucas’s mom, and my dad cheered for us. Coach Harper taught us basic techniques, such as gentle stretching movements and steady breathing techniques. I wasn’t sure how well I could run, but joining with friends and family felt like stepping into a warm adventure.
After our first training session, Coach Harper saw my dad carrying a special whistle in his hand, which was given by my granddad, a retired PE teacher. Then he borrowed it for our practice.
Before each run, Coach Harper blew the whistle regularly, as if rhythm helped him guide us. I watched this habit with a small smile, and it reminded me of my granddad. Passing the baton (接力棒) felt tricky at first, but my dad kept repeating, “Trust the hands waiting for you.”
Coach Harper added new tasks as we improved. First, we ran in a slow turn. Then we jumped lightly on soft ground before giving the baton. Ruby laughed the whole time, and Lucas wrote down our times. Parents helped prepare the track and cheered for us, making me feel braver each day.
One afternoon, Coach Harper announced that the official relay would include a “family-assist moment”, but he didn’t say what form it would take. Ruby guessed cheering signs, and Lucas guessed little bells. My dad showed a yellow ribbon (丝带) he planned to wave on race day and said that he would run “one heroic lap”, which I treated as a joke. I only knew our practices became smoother each week.
注意:
(1)续写词数应为150个左右;
The race day arrived.
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
The finish came quickly.
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
The race day arrived. The sun hung high, and the track glowed under its rays. Families filled the stands, their cheers mixing with the buzz of excitement. Coach Harper finally revealed the “family-assist moment”: each team’s parent would join the last lap with the final runner. My eyes widened — Dad wasn’t joking about his “heroic lap” after all. As the whistle blew, Ruby sprinted off first, her dad waving a homemade sign. Lucas took the baton next, his mom calling out his best times. When I grabbed the baton from Lucas, Dad’s voice rang out: “Trust the hands waiting for you.”
The finish came quickly. As I neared the final stretch, Dad appeared beside me, the yellow ribbon fluttering in his hand. “Run with me, kiddo!” he shouted. We picked up speed together, the crowd roaring in our ears. I could see Ruby and Lucas cheering wildly at the finish line. When we crossed the line hand in hand, we collapsed into breathless laughter. Coach Harper blew my granddad’s whistle, and warmth flooded my chest. We didn’t win first place, but as we huddled as team and family, I knew we’d won something far more precious: the unbreakable bond of trust and togetherness.

I understand many of you volunteered the shelter or teach at the horizon day school, and there are numerous others who contribute financially to the program, which is equally crucial. Everyone who has benefit from the program is deeply grateful to all of you. The program virtually saved my life. I became homeless when I was fifteen and lived on the streets. Even worse, I once broke the law. Eventually, the police station contacted a volunteer from horizon, and the volunteer enrolled me in the program. They provided me with shelter, a part time job, and assisted me and obtaining my high school diploma. Now i'm attending college and working part time at the horizon shelter, where I encounter troubled youth who are much Younger than I once was. So I witnessed daily the impact of your generosity on homeless individuals. Next, i'd like to introduce the remarkable woman who is responsible for all of this.
A
Most passwords are still weak.

D.Doubtful.

In the India of the 1990s, my family resided in Mumbai. We didn’t possess a car, so 41 was an integral part of our daily routine. I frequently accompanied my father, pedaling there from our house to a neighborhood store. I’d 42 behind him with a small bag balanced on my handlebars, picking up the month’s groceries.
Years later, in 2018, I cycled again, but this time in 43 for conquering high mountain passes. I assembled a group of like-minded individuals and we trained for our most 44 ride yet: The Himalayan Passes. Those rides taught me about determination, 45 ambition and the power in companionship.
Then in 2023, I joined the Pedal India 120-day Challenge, which demanded cycling at least 5 km daily for 120 days without 46 for a great build. What started as a commitment to 47 became something more profound. The daily discipline of showing up, rain or shine, 48 my deeper passion for cycling. As a professional development trainer at my firm, I aimed to bring this newfound energy into my work. Traditional office meetings often felt unproductive, so I 49 my individual guidance meetings into cycling meetings. It worked wonders. Hence, at the beginning of 2024, our company was in a crucial period of transition and I was determined to help my team 50 change, not oppose it. To 51 the connections among employees, I began holding one-on-one cycling meetings with my team. We talked more honestly and listened more deeply. I envisioned cycling with one person a week, but the response was 54 and unexpected. People have requested cycles to celebrate anniversaries, to 55 birthdays, or to mourn losses. To date, I have completed 380 cycles.
