第二节:阅读理解(共15小题, 每小题2分, 满分30分)
Have you ever wondered if astronauts can enjoy grilled (烤的) food in space, or how they cook in a weightless environment? It is known to all that astronauts usually eat freeze-dried meals, but things have changed with a new invention. Six astronauts from Shenzhou XX and Shenzhou XXI successfully grilled chicken wings and beef in Tiangong Space Station. This marks the first real cooking experience in space for the spacemen.
________ First, hot air doesn’t rise in space like it does on our planet. This causes food to cook very slowly. Second, tiny particles (粒子) of oil and smoke spread everywhere in the spaceship. These particles are dangerous and bad for the astronauts’ health.
Luckily, Chinese engineers created a smart oven to fix these problems. This oven has a small fan to move hot air around. A closed system (系统) is added to it to catch smoke and oil. This can keep the inside of the spaceship clean and safe. This special oven makes it possible for astronauts to enjoy delicious fresh-made food including cakes.
In a video from the station about 400 km above Earth, an astronaut put the chicken wings on a special plate. They were cooked in the oven at 180°C for 28 minutes. When the hot wings came out of the oven, the aroma got all astronauts to gather together and try them. They said they loved the wonderful smell and taste.
This smart invention not only improves the astronauts’ life in space but also shows China’s great progress in space technology. Clearly, people’s love for delicious food can go far beyond the Earth!

A new study found that 52 of the most common species (物种) of birds in the USA have shrunk in size in the past 38 years. Scientists say this is because of climate change.
This shrinking in size follows a rule called Bergmann’s rule The rule says that animals in cooler areas are usually larger than those in warmer areas. Larger animals are able to keep warmer. That is the reason why animals in cold areas are larger.
As global warming affects (影响) the planet, animals now have to deal with rising temperatures. Some of them shrink in size. Scientists studied over 70,000 species of birds. They discovered that some birds in North America were shrinking in size. Studies on deer, insects and fish also show similar facts.
What does this mean for these species? Global warming is happening faster than ever before. So, animals may not be able to change fast enough. And when species shrink, other things get different. When an animal’s body shrinks, it may not be able to give birth to as many young as before—this may affect the size of a species’ population.
It is possible that scientists haven’t yet completely understood how changes in size may affect the ability of animals to be alive. This shows the bigger problem with climate change—we aren’t always able to predict what will happen when the earth’s temperatures keep rising. And that is the real danger.
11. The underlined word “shrunk” in this passage means ________.
A. become smaller B. disappeared C. increased D. grown
12. Why are animals in cold areas larger than those in warmer areas?

C. Because they can keep warmer.
D. Because they need to be faster.
13. If a species’ body gets smaller, ________.
A. the species’ population may become smaller
B the species may change faster quickly
C. the earth may become warmer
D. there will be more pollution on the earth

What will you say if you need to tell someone about yourself? Seeing yourself from the outside can be hard. However, knowing who you are helps you understand your feelings and make friendships stronger.
Self-awareness (自我意识) means learning about your thoughts, feelings, and actions. It is a simple viewpoint. For example, you might know you love playing basketball because you’re good at it. This is part of being self-aware.
Self-awareness is important. When you know what you like and dislike, you can make better choices. Believing in your feelings can build confidence further. Self-awareness is one of the ten important life skills for a happy and healthy life. Being self-aware isn’t just about thinking about yourself. Understanding your own feelings helps you understand others better, too.
A great way to learn about yourself is to ask questions. Use “What” instead of “Why”. If you keep arguing (争吵) with a friend, ask yourself what you disagree on instead of why you’re arguing. Looking for the same points about your likes and dislikes helps you learn more about yourself.
Learning self-awareness is a skill, and that means you can learn it as you grow. Try new things, like doing a new sport or listening to different music. Don’t worry if you don’t like something. Finding out what’s hard or challenging is part of learning about yourself. Keep exploring, and you’ll understand yourself better day by day!
16. How does the writer start the passage?
A. By showing a fact. B. By asking a question.
C. By giving an example. D. By sharing an experience.
17. The underlined word “viewpoint” in paragraph 2 means ________.
A. opinion B. decision C. survey D. competition
18. Why is self-awareness important in paragraph 3?
A. It helps you show your feelings. B. It encourages you to try new things.
C. It helps you make good choices. D. It makes you pay attention to your choices.
19. When you argue with a friend, which question should you ask according to the passage?
A. Why are you so angry? B. What do we disagree on?
C. What’s wrong with you? D. Why do you make me angry?
20. What can be the best title for this passage?
A. Learn About Yourself B. Try New Sports and Music
C. The Importance of Friends D. The Way of Building Confidence

第二节:信息摘录 (共5小题, 每小题2分, 满分10分)
阅读短文, 然后在文后完成内容摘要。
3D printing is an amazing technology that has changed the way we make things. It was first invented in the 1980s and has developed a lot since then.
The process of 3D printing is really interesting. First, we need to design a 3D model of the object we want to make using special computer software. Then, the 3D printer reads the model and starts to build the object layer by layer. It uses different materials like plastics, metals, or ceramics (陶瓷) to create the object.
3D printing has many great uses. It can be used in the medical field, the manufacturing (制造业) industry and so on. It can make parts for cars, airplanes, and other machines. It can also be used to make beautiful jewelry (珠宝) and toys.
Another advantage of 3D printing is that it can save a lot of materials. Unlike traditional manufacturing methods where a lot of material is cut away and wasted, 3D printing only uses the amount of material needed to build the object.
However, 3D printing also has some problems. The 3D printers and the materials can be quite expensive, so not everyone can afford them. Also, the printing speed is usually slower than traditional manufacturing methods, which means it takes more time to make a large number of products.
In the future, 3D printing will probably become more and more popular and advanced(先进的).We may be able to print even more complex and useful things with it, like houses and even human organs (器官). It will bring more convenience and possibilities to our lives.
