Now scientists are looking into a bee’s brain. Clint Perry, a scientist, has spent much time studying how bees think. He says studying bees is not very different from studying other animals. “The main difficulty is to design (设计) an experiment (实验) bee and get what we want,” he says. “With humans, we can ask them a question and get an answer. But we can’t use the same way to get an answer from bees. They are just trying to get sugar. Bees like sugar.” The fact that bees like sugar is helpful for scientists to design experiments. For example, in one experiment, Perry gave bees a task: to find delicious sugar on a landing place above a black bar (棒). Perry made the task easier or harder by moving the landing place farther from or closer to the black bar. He found that bees would avoid the task when it was difficult. And when the task was easy, bees would try it. As for humans, we might choose not to take a test when we weren’t ready for it. And we might choose to take the test when we were well prepared. In the same way, bees seemed to make decisions like humans. Perry points out that we are not sure whether bees actually make a thoughtful choice from experiments. Now scientists still do not know how bees manage to do so much with their tiny brains. But learning more about how bees’ brains work could help us learn more about how our own brains deal with information. 根据语篇内容,选择最佳选项。 1.What did Perry study in his experiments? A.How bees sleep. B.How bees think. C.How bees dream. 2.What can we know from Paragraph 2? A.Bees can talk. B.Bees are lazy. C.Bees like sugar. 3.What would bees do when the task was easy according to Paragraph 3? A.They would try it. B.They would avoid it. C.They would praise it. 4.What’s the importance of looking into bees’ brains? A.It helps us learn how human brains work. B.It tells us how to make thoughtful choices. C.It lets us know how to deal with information. 5.Where is the article probably taken from? A.A travel magazine. B.A sports magazine. C.A science magazine. 【答案】1.B 2.C 3.A 4.A 5.C 【导语】本文是一篇说明文,介绍关于蜜蜂的一些信息。 1.细节理解题。根据“Clint Perry, a scientist, has spent much time studying how bees think.”可知,科学家克林特·佩里花了很多时间研究蜜蜂是如何思考的。故选B。 2.细节理解题。根据“Bees like sugar.”可知,蜜蜂喜欢糖。故选C。 3.细节理解题。根据“And when the task was easy, bees would try it.”可知,当任务很容易时,蜜蜂就会尝试。故选A。 4.细节理解题。根据“But learning more about how bees’ brains work could help us learn more about how our own brains deal with information.”可知,但更多地了解蜜蜂的大脑是如何工作的,可以帮助我们更多地了解人类大脑是如何处理信息的。故选A。 5.推理判断题。本文主要介绍关于蜜蜂的一些信息,所以可能在科学杂志上看到这篇文章,故选C。 中考模拟真题练习 A housewarming is a party held soon after moving into a new home. It is held to celebrate the move. It also allows you to show your new place to friends and family. The word “housewarming” has an interesting history. Before central heating, guests would bring firewood to warm a home and build fires in all the available fireplaces. They believed this would help drive away bad spirits. Today, housewarming parties are not only about bringing good luck and joy, but also a great way to get all your friends together. If you’re going to a housewarming, there are some rules you should follow to make sure everybody has a good time. First, try to respond (回应) as soon as you can to the invitation. Not only will this give you more time to plan your clothes and gift, but it’ll also give the hosts a better idea of how many people they should expect. Second, bring a gift like a bottle of wine or home decorations, such as a plant. You can also ask the hosts if there are any things they need for their home. Third, make sure to arrive at the party on time or just after it’s begun, unless you’ve been asked by the hosts to arrive early to help set up. Most importantly, be polite and thoughtful. If you see unpacked boxes or furniture (家具) out of place, don’t point them out. Instead, compliment (赞美) their new home and what has already been prepared. Following these rules will make sure you’re the perfect housewarming guest. 根据语篇内容,选择最佳答案。 1.When is a housewarming party usually held? A.Before buying a new house. B.On the first day of a new year. They are small devices that people can wear on their body, such as smart watches, smart bands and smart glasses. These devices use modern technology to make people's life more convenient and healthy. Smart watches are the most common smart wearable devices. They can not only tell the time, but also make phone calls, send messages and track people’s health. For example, they can record the number of steps you walk every day, check your heart rate (心率) and even watch your sleep quality. If your heart rate is too high, the watch will warn you at once. Smart bands are smaller and lighter than smart watches. They are mainly used for health tracking. Most smart bands can record your exercise time, calorie (卡路里) burn and sleep status. They are very popular among students and office workers because they are cheap and easy to carry. Smart glasses are a new kind of smart wearable device. They have a small screen on the glass lens (镜片). With smart glasses, you can watch videos, read news and even take photos without using your phone. Some smart glasses also have special technology that can show you useful information in front of your eyes when you need it. There are about 20 reasons that scientists think are possible for yawning after research. They do not know exactly why yawning happens, but they do know many facts about yawning. ②We know that everyone yawns in the same way. First, you open your mouth slowly. Your mouth stays open for about five seconds. You take in a lot of air and then push it out. Then you quickly close your mouth. We also know that yawning is contagious. When you see someone yawn, you yawn, too. ③Many people say they yawn because they are bored or tired. That might be true. People do often yawn before they sleep and after they wake up. However, we know that people also yawn when they are excited or nervous. Olympic runners, for example, often yawn before a race. Why is that? In 2007, scientists found that a yawn can help a warm brain cool down. ④Some scientists believe that yawning makes you notice things more quickly. When you yawn, you breathe deeply. You also stretch (拉伸) the muscles (肌肉) in your face, mouth, and neck. Your eardrums (耳膜) stretch, too. Maybe this helps you to be quicker to notice things. ⑤In some countries, people think yawning is not nice. People put their hands over their mouths to cover a yawn. In other countries, people think yawning is healthy. They think that opening the mouth very wide can let good things in. Chinese people love different kinds of tea. Among them, black tea and white tea from Fujian, green tea from Zhejiang and Anhui, and dark tea from Yunnan are some of the favorites. ②In the Song Dynasty (960—1279), tea culture reached new heights. The charm of the Song tea came alive through “dian cha”. Powdered (粉状的) tea was whisked (搅打) with hot water to form soft “clouds”. White tea was often used to make the “clouds” as white as the moonlight. The practice of serving dian cha became a living art. It later influenced Japanese tea culture. Today, more young people learn and pass on this traditional art. ③Yunnan’s dark tea, especially Pu’er, got famous because the Ancient Tea Horse Road was developing quickly at that time. And it won popularity around the world. In 1976, Frenchman Fred Kempler found a new kind of Pu’er from Yunnan in a Hong Kong shop. In the same year, he visited Yunnan, bought nearly two tons, and began to sell “Yunnan Tuocha” in Europe. Since 1986, Yunnan’s “Pu’er tuocha” has got many prizes at food fairs in France, the United States and other countries. Tea is a bridge of friendship among nations and people. ④Tea has been enjoyed timelessly from ancient to modern times. In the same year, he visited Yunnan, bought nearly two tons, and began to sell ‘Yunnan Tuocha’ in Europe”可知,1976年Fred Kempler在香港发现新式普洱,同年他到访云南收购了近两吨茶叶,正式开始在欧洲售卖云南沱茶,因此时间为1976年。 3. “Look in my eyes. Tell me why.” Do you often watch videos about ancient people online? Creative video makers (创意视频博主) are using AI to bring famous people from history like Tang Dynasty poets Li Bai and Du Fu to modern life. These videos are very popular, and they show these well-known ancient people talking in our everyday modern language. In one video, Du Fu talks about his experience during the An-Shi Rebellion (安史之乱) (755-763). In another, Ming Dynasty doctor Li Shizhen jokes about (调侃) modern living habits, like people drinking goji berry (枸杞) water to stay healthy but still staying up very late every night. “The videos make me want to learn more about these important ancient people. I didn’t know much about their stories before,” said Wang Jiayi, a 15-year-old student from Shandong. This new kind of popular video isn’t liked by everyone, though. Because in some of these videos, the ancient people speak loudly and always asking questions, the way they speak annoys some people. “ They are too pushy (强人所难), and this is not how they really were,” said 14-year-old Wang Shuotong from Jiangsu. Xia Boen, a 14-year-old boy from Hubei, felt the same as Wang Shuotong. But he was surprised to find that he remembered almost everything they said about their life stories and great deeds (事迹), just because of this special speaking style in the videos. C.In the videos, Li Shizhen advises people to drink more goji berry water. 5.What can be the best title for the text? A.How to Make Popular Short Videos Online B.What Ancient People Think About Today’s Life C.AI Makes Ancient Famous People “Live” Again in Videos 【答案】 1.文章开头第一句是“Do you often watch videos about ancient people online?”,这是一个疑问句,所以作者是以“提问”的方式开篇。 2.第四段直接引用了王佳怡的话:“The videos make me want to learn more about these important ancient people.”,说明这些视频让她对古人产生了兴趣。 3.第五段提到“Because in some of these videos, the ancient people speak loudly and always asking questions, the way they speak annoys some people. ‘They are too pushy (强人所难), and this is not how they really were,’ said 14 - year - old Wang Shuotong from Jiangsu.”,因为视频里古人说话大声且总问问题,王硕桐觉得他们太强人所难,不是他们真实的样子,由此可推断出这种方式让一些人不舒服,“annoys”意思是“使某人不舒服”。 4.最后一段提到“However, we should be careful with these videos and make sure they are not spreading wrong information.”,说明我们应该小心这些视频,确保它们没有传播错误信息,即要仔细检查视频里的信息。 5. Recently, China has introduced the Lucky Horse as the mascot (吉祥物) for the 2026 Chinese New Year. Among countless piano pieces, River Flows in You composed by Yiruma, a famous South Korean pianist, stands out as a work that blends softness and emotion perfectly. This piece is neither too fast nor too slow. Its melody (旋律) starts gently, like a small stream (溪流) winding through a quiet forest. As the music goes on, the tune (曲调) becomes a little stronger, just as the stream grows into a river, flowing smoothly but with hidden power. What makes River Flows in You so special is that it doesn’t need any lyrics to express feelings. When you listen to it, you may think of your sweet memories, or feel a quiet sadness that is not strong but warm. Many people first heard this piece in TV plays or movies, where it often appears in touching scenes. It has been played at weddings, graduation ceremonies, and even in some coffee shops to create a peaceful atmosphere (氛围). Yiruma once said that he wrote this piece to express the quiet love and wish in his heart. Indeed, every note of the music seems to be a whisper, telling a story that everyone can understand in their own way. Unlike some loud and exciting music, River Flows in You is like a friend who listens to you silently. It can calm you down when you are anxious, and bring you comfort when you are lonely. Some experts say we’ll become stupid if we don’t put phones down. Studies show more people watch short videos almost all the time when awake. Why is it hard to refuse short videos? Algorithmic recommendation (算法推荐) must be the answer. It’s smart enough to uncover our preferences (偏好)—finding what we like and providing similar content (内容) continually. The more we like something, the more similar content we get. Then why do short videos make us stupid? First, they narrow (缩小) our field of perception (认知范围). When watching similar videos, we may think we’re more knowledgeable, but we’re actually in an “information cocoon (信息茧房)” by sticking to interested subjects. Just check your mother’s phone, and you'll find you live in totally different worlds! Second, we’ll lose patience for reading and thinking, as we’re used to this low-cost, high-return entertainment. Third, we’ll become over-emotional. We may easily believe negative (消极的) video stories and comment (评论) quickly, but often regret it when knowing the truth. See, you become stupid bit by bit without realizing it. Maybe it’s time to wake up—you need a better way to entertain (娱乐) yourself! 根据语篇内容,选择最佳选项。 1.Why does the writer use the mark “!” in the first sentence in paragraph 1? A.close down. B.dig out. C.give away. 3.What’s the writer’s purpose by mentioning “your mother’s phone”? A.To prove (证明) we know nothing about our mother’s life. B.To suggest we should share the information. C.To explain the theory of “information cocoon” 4.Which of the following is TRUE according to the passage? A.Short videos narrow people’s perception and make them impatient. B.Algorithmic recommendation can’t know people’s preferences well. C.Watching short videos helps people become more knowledgeable. 5.According to the passage, how do we deal with watching too many short videos? A.By asking some experts for help. B.By putting our phone down forever. C.By finding a better way to amuse ourselves. 【答案】1.B 2.B 3.C 4.A 5.C 【导语】本文是一篇说明文,主要讲述了短视频让人难以拒绝的原因、短视频使人变“笨”的具体影响,并呼吁人们选择更健康的娱乐方式。 1. 第一段分析作用:“just like this, three hours pass before you realize you’ve done nothing!”,感叹号体现人们对浪费时间的后悔。 2.第二段解释词义:“It’s smart enough to uncover our preferences”,uncover 此处意为“挖掘、发现”,与dig out含义一致。 3.第三段说明目的:“we’re actually in an ‘information cocoon’ by sticking to interested subjects”,以妈妈的手机为例是为了解释“信息茧房”这一理论。 4.第三段判断正误:“First, they narrow our field of perception…Second, we’ll lose patience for reading and thinking”,说明短视频缩小认知范围且让人失去耐心。 5.最后一段给出建议:“you need a better way to entertain yourself”,即找到更好的娱乐方式。 Every school day, we use schoolbags to carry all of our things to school. They are a big part of our lives. But have you ever thought about the history of the schoolbag? In the Han Dynasty, students in old-style private schools used bamboo boxes to carry books to school. People consider the bamboo boxes to be the earliest schoolbags. There were usually two or three layers (层) in the box. Kids put different things like books, brushes, ink stones (砚台) and paper in the boxes. Hundreds of years later, people developed a new kind of schoolbag called the budai, or the “hip-pocket”. The budai was lighter than the bamboo box. With the founding of the People’s Republic of China, military rucksacks (军用帆布包) became popular. Many people carried them when they were in school. Ask your grandparents or parents about these bags. Maybe they can tell you about their experiences of carrying them when they were in school. A new style of schoolbags has appeared in recent years. Many of them have colorful and fashionable designs on them, such as pictures of cartoons or pop stars. And they are more comfortable to use. It mixes Inner Mongolia’s milk skin (奶皮子) with northern China’s traditional candied hawthorns. Many young people line up to buy it, even when it’s cold outside. In Hangzhou, the line for this snack is more than 300 meters long. In Shanghai, one stick of it costs 98 yuan. This snack has quickly become a hot topic among people. ②What makes this snack so special? Traditional candied hawthorns are just hawthorns covered with sugar. But this new snack adds soft milk skin to the hawthorns. It has a wonderful taste: the sweet and sour flavor (味道) of hawthorns goes well with the rich milk smell. Young people are really interested in this new combination. ③However, the snack also causes arguments. Some people say it’s an “IQ tax” because it’s much more expensive than common candied hawthorns. But young people still want to buy it. They think waiting in line is a “daily ritual (仪式感)” in their busy sense of lives. They take photos of the snack and share them online, getting likes and praise from friends. ④This snack’s popularity shows the innovation (创新) of traditional food. 中考模拟真题练习 A housewarming is a party held soon after moving into a new home. It is held to celebrate the move. It also allows you to show your new place to friends and family. Smart wearable devices (设备) are becoming more and more popular among people of all ages. For example, when you are traveling, it can tell you the name of the building and its history. However, smart wearable devices also have some problems. Some people worry about their privacy (隐私) because the devices collect a lot of personal information. Also, using them for a long time may be bad for people's eyes and neck. When they breathe out, they think that bad things go out of the body with the air. ⑥Scientists do not spend much time studying yawning. That is probably because yawning does not hurt. It is just something we do. 根据语篇内容,选择最佳选项。 1.What does the underlined word “contagious” in Paragraph 2 mean? A.有传染性的 B.可呼吸的 C.可改变的 2.Why do Olympic runners often yawn before a race? Now he has collected over 100 insects, including beetles (甲虫) he found in Fujian and grasshoppers (蚂蚱) from Shenzhen. ③It is usually warm in Shenzhen and the city is rich in different insect species (物种), so it is a perfect place to watch insects. “I often look for insects at Tanglang Mountain Country Park, Lianhua Hill Park, Yangtai Mountain Forest Park and OCT National Wetland Park, I’ve recorded about 60 different kinds of insects just at Tanglang Mountain Country Park near my home,” Zhang said. Now Zhang is able to identify over 1,000 insect species. ④With his mother’s help, Zhang posted his first video about insects five years ago. In the video, he put two kinds of stick insects (竹节虫) on his hands and explained what they look like where they live and how they protect themselves. ⑤Many people online liked the video, which made him excited to share more insect facts. Each cup of dian cha, white as the moonlight, turns tea into art, and art into eternity (永恒). Tea is also loved from the East to the West. These videos use a fun and modern way to let ancient people “talk by themselves”. C.In the videos, Li Shizhen advises people to drink more goji berry water. 5.What can be the best title for the text? A.How to Make Popular Short Videos Online B.What Ancient People Think About Today’s Life C.AI Makes Ancient Famous People “Live” Again in Videos Recently, China has introduced the Lucky Horse as the mascot (吉祥物) for the 2026 Chinese New Year. This is the magic of piano music—it can speak to people’s souls (灵魂) without saying a single word. 根据语篇内容,选择最佳选项。 1.Who is the composer of the piano piece River Flows in You? A.A Chinese pianist. C.To become famous all over the world. 5.What is the main idea of the passage? A.An introduction to a piano piece and its magic. B.The history of piano music around the world. C.The life story of the pianist Yiruma. “It is just too funny, hahaha…”, and just like this, three hours pass before you realize you’ve done nothing! B.To suggest we should share the information. C.To explain the theory of “information cocoon” 4.Which of the following is TRUE according to the passage? A.Short videos narrow people’s perception and make them impatient. B.Algorithmic recommendation can’t know people’s preferences well. C.Watching short videos helps people become more knowledgeable. 5.According to the passage, how do we deal with watching too many short videos? A.By asking some experts for help. B.By putting our phone down forever. C.By finding a better way to amuse ourselves. Every school day, we use schoolbags to carry all of our things to school. It took off from Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in Northwest China and entered its planned orbit (轨道). Different from past missions, Shenzhou-21 uses a fast self-controlled way to meet and connect with Tiangong. It will connect with the front part of Tianhe core module (核心舱) in just 3.5 hours, much faster than the old 6.5-hour plan. ②The mission leader is Zhang Lu. He was born in the 1970s. He used to be a top air force pilot and the second group of astronauts. He finished the Shenzhou-15 mission in 2022 and now goes back to Tiangong Space Station after more than two years. Born in 1993, Wu Fei is a flight engineer. He is in China’s third group of astronauts and this is his first trip to space. He once worked as an engineer at a space research institute (研究所) and has become the youngest spaceman to take part in a space mission so far. Zhong Hongzhang was born in 1986. He is a researcher good at high-quality battery (电池) technology and has a doctor’s degree. He made a power experiment for this mission to solve key problems in space power systems. He also helps with space biology studies using four mice carried by the spacecraft. These mice were picked from 48 choices. Zhang once said his childhood dream was to learn from great scientists like Qian Xuesen and serve the motherland with science and technology. ③The crew (全体工作人员) will stay in Tiangong for about six months. They will do space science work, perform spacewalks, and move goods. They will also hold science education activities. This Shenzhou-21 mission is another great step for China’s space program. 根据语篇内容,选择最佳选项。 1.What can we know about the Shenzhou-21? A.It failed to enter the planned orbit. Old foods don’t need to stay the same. When we add new ideas to them, they can get new life. Milk skin candied hawthorns tell us that creativity can make old foods popular again among young people. 根据语篇内容,选择最佳选项。 1.What are milk skin candied hawthorns made of?
