课标主题:人与社会——中外文学史上有代表性的作家和作品
情境导语:Learn to walk in Handan.
文体:记叙文 难度:★★★☆☆
词数:约250词 建议用时:6分钟
More than 2,000 years ago, there lived a young man in the
State of Yan. He was so unconfident that he didn’t know how
12
to behave all the time. His family members advised him to
surmount this weakness, but he didn’t follow their suggestions.
With the time going on, he even didn’t know if he walked
in the right way. One day, he saw some people chatting and
laughing on the road. One of them said that people in Handan
walked most beautifully. He was so curious(好奇的) about
how beautifully people in Handan walked that he decided to go
to Handan.
As soon as he arrived in Handan, he found people there
walked in different gestures(姿势). He learned the walking
gestures from the children, because he thought the way that the
children walked was interesting. He learned from the old,
because he believed old people’s walking gestures were steady
(稳重的). He also learned from the women, because he
thought the women’s walking gestures were beautiful. After less
than half a month, he even forgot how to walk. He used up all
his money, so he had to crawl(爬) back home.
In our everyday life, it is right for us to learn from other
people to improve ourselves. But before learning, we should
know about our advantages. Following others without thinking
carefully is not a good decision.#1.7

Wu Yaduo, a 17-year-old high school student, is working
hard to keep the classical works alive. Using her iPad, Wu
turns classic stories like A Dream of Red Mansions, Water
Margin and The Peony Pavilion, and the lives of poets, such as
Li Bai into videos. These videos have become ▲ online. There
are a lot of people who like her videos.
To Wu, these classical works are valuable because they
show human feelings and social topics that everybody can
understand. However, she believes it is important to make these
classics more interesting for modern readers, especially younger
ones.
Wu started with texts from high school Chinese textbooks
after noticing that many students simply weren’t interested in
these works. The students thought they had to learn them for
school. However, Wu thought we should bring them closer,
making them a part of our everyday lives. In her videos, Wu
mixes text and sound. For example, her version(版本) of A
Dream of Red Mansions got ideas from a sad song by a
Chinese band.
Wu’s animations(动画) are often filled with bright colors
and emotions. She has received a lot of support from those
around her. However, she finds it impossible to perfectly
translate what’s in her mind into art.
“Every time I draw, I feel angry that I can’t just copy and
paste(粘贴) what’s in my head onto the iPad. It would be so
much better if I could,” she said. “That’s why I’m always
looking forward to my next piece.”#2.4
