Chinese lanterns
Chinese lanterns are very special. They have a history of thousands of years and are popular all over China.
Traditional lanterns are usually made of paper or silk. The most common colour is red because it stands for happiness and good luck. Chinese lanterns come in many different shapes. Some are round, and some are in the shape of flowers and animals. Some even have beautiful pictures on them.
During festivals such as the Chinese New Year, people like to hang lanterns. At night, their soft light makes the streets look really beautiful.
Lanterns are an important part of traditional Chinese culture. I really love them!
