(2026·山东菏泽·一模)Leading digital learning platforms Libby and Kanopy conducted a comprehensive 2025 survey of 3,500 undergraduate students across 50 universities in the United States and Canada. The survey, completed in January 2026, set out to identify the dominant learning styles of today’s undergraduates, measure student demand for different types of multimodal (多模态) course materials, and explore the link between multimodal learning and academic performance and engagement.
Learning Style Preference
This shift in learning styles has directly translated into a growing demand for course materials, as students seek out content that not only conveys information but also engages them in ways that match how they best process and internalize knowledge.
The following data quantifies student demand for different types of multimodal course materials accordingly.
Demand for Multimodal Course Materials
The survey also uncovered a clear link between the use of multimodal learning materials and key educational outcomes, including academic performance and classroom engagement. “This survey confirms that undergraduate learning has entered a new multimodal era — students no longer want to be passive consumers of text-based content. Educators and institutions that adapt to this shift by providing diverse, visual and interactive materials will see significant improvements in student success and engagement, and will better prepare students for the diverse, digital world they will enter upon graduation,” said Overdrive CEO Steve Potash.
1.What percentage do visual and kinesthetic learners account for in 2025?
A.40%. B.49%. C.51%. D.73%.
2.Which multimodal course materials do undergraduate students like most?
A.Audio podcasts. B.Video lectures.
C.Interactive infographics. D.Traditional print textbooks.
3.What does Steve think of the shift of learning style preference?
A.It is worthy to be accepted. B.It relies on text-based materials.
C.It is a short-lived tendency. D.It lowers classroom engagement.

After retiring from professional soccer in 2013, Amir Lowery returned home and began coaching at a youth club. He knew that the city's immigrant (移民) communities included many soccer enthusiasts, but girls and boys from such communities were nowhere to be seen on the costly club circuit. Two years later, Lowery co-founded the Open Goal Project to help talented young players who could not afford club fees. The program supports about 500 children who play on eight free club teams, in a mini-league, and at summer camps. Beyond soccer skills, participants learn nutrition, financial knowledge, and receive academic and college guidance.
Joining his first soccer program at age 4, Lowery played for youth clubs and his parents sacrificed time, money and energy to transport him to games and tournnaments. He had a social network of people who backed his passion and really wanted to see him succeed. That foundation helped him earn a full scholarship to Wake Forest University, where he captained the men's team before joining Major League Soccer.
The Open Goal Project operates on an annual budget of roughly $700, 000. Local officials say the families it serves would otherwise have no access to high-level soccer. Lowery also hopes the program will broaden the soccer talent pool, and argues that rising costs - often near $1, 000 a year per child--preclude many skilled players. Removing financial barriers, he believes, would reveal much untapped talent.
On a sunny afternoon, Lowery leads a practice on a field, where dozens of kids train and parents sit in chairs, watching proudly. Coach Precious Ogu, once an early Open Goal Project participant, understands how priceless such a sense of belonging is. Feeling out of place in a wealthy suburban club shaped her belief in the Open Goal Project's mission. As practice ends and the children walk off the field, it's clear they leave with more than ball skills.
1. Why was the Open Goal Project established?
A. To lower fees of the soccer club. B. To inspire talented soccer players globally.
C. To equip children with multi-skills. D. To fire soccer dreams of gifted poor kids.
2. What is paragraph 2 mainly about?
A. The influence of sports. B. Lowery's achievements.
C. The value of assistance. D. Lowery's love for soccer.
3. What does the underlined word "preclude" in paragraph 3 mean?
A. Transform. B. Prevent.
C. Rejuvenate. D. Disappoint.
4. Which aspect of the project matters most to Precious Ogu?
A. It forms closer family bonds. B. It thinks highly of welfare services.
C. It opens the path to the future. D. It creates a harmonious atmosphere.

(25-26高三上·广东广州·月考)Do you remember the name of your kindergarten teacher? I do—mine was Mrs. White. I always thought she must be some distant relative of Walt Disney’s Snow White, with her bright blue eyes, short dark hair, red lips and fair skin.
I don’t remember much about what we learned in her class, but my mother once told me that we used to write a lot. Every time I brought my writings home, mom would notice many mistakes. Bu no red corrections and always a star. Somotimes-even a Good! It made my heart soar with happiness, but it worried my mom. One day when she met Mrs. White, she asked her why she never corrected my mistakes—why she never red-penciled in the right spellings or pointed out grammatical errors.
Mom said Mrs. White replied, “The children are just beginning to get excited about using words, about forming sentences. I-don’t want to dampen that onthusiasm with red ink. Spelling and grammar can wait. The wonder of words won’t.” Maybe those weren’t her exact words—this was long ago, and mom could only recall the gist. The rest I added in. I grew up learning to use words with loving confidence like that.
Now it occurs to me that if Mrs. White had used her red pen more precisely, I probably wouldn’t be telling you about this now. I look back and think she must have been a rather extraordinary teacher—for exercising such red-pen restraint, to allow the pleasure, wonder, and excitement of expression to flower—however faultily—like that.
I used to misspell “beautiful” a lot—even after I entered high school. I’d often put the “a” before the “e”—a mistake that always fiustrated my teacher. But I’m glad I never stopped using it. “Pretty” is easier to spell, but it doesn’t hold as much meaning as you want to convey sometimes. Thanks to Mrs. White, I never hesitate to write what I mean—even with imperfect spelling. Because life isn’t “pretty”—it’s “baeutiful”: flawed yet truly wonderful.
1.What does the underlined word “it” in paragraph 2 refer to?
A.The author’s attitude to schoolwork.
B.The teacher’s response to the writings.
C.The author’s academic performance.
D.The teacher’s disservice to the students.
2.What can we know from Mrs. White’s reply?
A.She was too busy to mark every paper.
B.She believed spelling was unimportant.
C.She couldn’t correct all the students’ mistakes.
D.She was careful not to ruin the joy of expression.
3.What does the author think of Mrs. White’s way of teaching?
A.Far-reaching. B.Contradictory. C.Conventional. D.Practical.
4.What is the author’s purpose in writing the text?
A.To honor a respected kindergarten teacher.
B.To share an unforgettable learning experience.
C.To tell how early encouragement fuels lifelong confidence.
D.To prove technical accuracy is less important than creativity.

(2025·湖南长沙·三模)My fingers trembled as I signed the pre-medical application form. The watercolor brushes on my desk stared back at me like abandoned friends. I’m Lora, an 18-year-old who secretly drew brain diagrams on napkins while classmates drew cartoons. “Art feeds the soul but starves the body,” Mom always said. Her words haunted (萦绕) me as my biology textbooks slowly buried my drawing pads.
Then came the school career fair that changed everything. Dr. Eleanor Whitman from Harvard asked us to list our “hidden skills”. My hand shook as I wrote “observing details”—something I’d learned from painting flower petals (花瓣). “That’s medical research’s most needed skill!” she exclaimed, sharing how a student turned microbiology notes into textbook illustrations. My lab partner whispered, “Remember our photosynthesis (光合作用) comic?” For the first time, my two worlds didn’t feel so separate.
The real surprise came during hospital volunteering. Watching surgeries, I noticed something—the steady hands of doctors reminded me of my brushwork. When a boy struggled to describe his pain, I drew a fire-breathing dragon on his cast. “You made medicine speak,” the nurse said. Slowly, my drawing pads filled with cells that looked like colored-glass art and X-rays arranged like abstract paintings.
Mr. Dawson, our career counselor, helped connect these dots. On his whiteboard, my medical knowledge and art skills overlapped in a bright yellow circle labeled “Medical Illustration”. He showed me job listings I never knew existed—graphic designers for science apps, 3D modelers for anatomy (解剖) classes. “Your ‘impractical’ skill makes you stand out,” he said, pointing to my dragon drawing now used in pain management workshops.
Today, my microscope and paintbrushes share the same desk. The same hands that once hesitated between them now create 3D models of viruses for vaccine education. Sometimes I teach young patients to draw their feelings instead of describing them. My story isn’t about heart and reality canceling each other out—they just multiply possibilities.
1.What can be inferred about Lora from paragraph 1?
A.She had given up the hobby of drawing.
B.She was excited about studying medicine.
C.She felt torn between art and medical study.
D.She regretted not practicing painting earlier.
2.Dr. Eleanor thought of Lora’s “hidden skills” as ______.
A.a plus B.a leisure C.a distraction D.a burden
3.How did Lora’s hospital experience influence her?
A.It helped develop her surgical skills.
B.It directed her toward doctor training.
C.It boosted her enthusiasm for abstract art.
D.It convinced her of art’s role in healthcare.
4.What message does the author want to convey?
A.When in Rome, do as the Romans do.
B.A picture is worth a thousand words.
C.Don’t put all your eggs in one basket.
D.No skill is ever wasted.

In 1999, Giuliana Furci, founder and founding director of the Fungi (真菌) Foundation, developed a deep interest in fungi. They were everywhere, and the 20-year-old took particular joy in the variety of mushrooms: small and button-shaped; tall and umbrella-like; round with red caps topped with white flakes. Some were commonly found in people’s diets, for they were rich in nutrients such as vitamin, fiber, minerals and protein.
But Furci also quickly realized that these fungi went largely ignored in Chile, where there were few guidebooks and an almost total lack of policies and resources to protect them from overharvesting and other human activities. Determined to correct this, Furci wrote a field guide and set up the Fungi Foundation — a nonprofit dedicated to fungi conservation. In her guide, special attention went to the role of fungi in the ecosystem.
“Life on the planet wouldn’t exist without fungi,” said Greg Mueller, a mushroom conservation expert. “Because of their relationship with forests and trees, we can’t survive without fungi. In terms of the health of the planet, they’re incredibly important to humans and the overall ecosystem.” Fungi can break down plants and animals, thus cycling nutrients and increasing their availability in the soil. They are also important contributors to the soil carbon stock through the same process. What’s more, fungi have been found to help degrade (降解) various pollutants, such as plastic. And mycelium (菌丝体), which is the root structure of mushrooms, is now being used to replace unsustainable materials, such as plastic and animal-based products.
Because of these, exploration of fungi was expanded at a faster pace. However, some were already listed as critically endangered. In 2010, Furci took an even bigger step — with other environmental nonprofits, she put forward a proposal for the government to systematically assess how large new developments such as housing, dams, and highways affect fungi. In 2012, a law was passed and Chile became the first country in the world to protect fungi by law.
1.Why did Furci establish the Fungi Foundation?
A.To promote the consumption of edible fungi.
B.To draw attention to fungi conservation.
C.To study the variety of mushrooms in Chile.
D.To create more jobs related to fungi research.

(25-26高三上·湖南长沙·月考)The Durham Dales in England, with its gentle hills, stunning waterfalls, and vast woodlands, is a natural habitat for birds. It is also home to zoologist and artist Sara Cox.Growing up in nature, she has always had a deep love for birds. Nowadays, she creates detailed bird sculptures made from thin metal wire. She brings together her knowledge of science and her artistic skill to make people aware of the challenges facing birds, and to inspire people to look after them.
As a child, Sara spent much of her time outdoors with her brothers — exploring the garden, walking in the countryside, or camping under the stars. These early experiences helped shape her close relationship with the natural world. Creativity also runs in her family, her father was an engineer who welded (焊接) and built things, while her mother made pottery. When she moved to the village of Middleton 20 years ago, she became even more inspired by the wildlife around her. Seeing birds up close every day fired her own creativity, enabling her to express her love for them through art.
Sara’s wire bird sculptures are the result of careful observation and detailed study. She will sit outside for hours, sketching and observing their movements — right down to knowing how their muscles work and how they shift their weight. She also visits museums to study bird skeletons so she can understand the structure beneath the feathers. “To sculpt a bird accurately, I need to know what’s underneath,” she explains.
Her sculptures have been exhibited in national galleries and nature trails, receiving praise for their scientific accuracy, emotional impact, and role in promoting bird conservation.

Sajan Veer Abrol is the founder of the Clothes Box Foundation in Gurugram, India. His story began in a humble way.
One afternoon in 2013, he decided to clean out his wardrobe (衣柜). “I did not want the clothes to be thrown away, so I came up with the idea of distributing them to people in the neighbours who needed them.” Soon, Sajan was joined by friends and family who loved the concept.
“We would mix and match the clothes that we received, make pairs and then distribute these to labourers at construction sites,” explains Sajan. This had a well-thought-out motive behind it, he notes. “Migrant (迁移的) labourers rarely get clothes. Your first preference would always be your house help.”
In 2015, a TV show invited Sajan and his team to share their story. “It was a TV show that changed the game for us,” recalls Sajan. They hadn’t realized that this would be the starting point for their success. “As soon as the show aired, we were flooded with calls and messages.” The response showed how much potential this social project had. And Sajan was not ready to. let it go.
Later that year, he quit his job as an analyst and turned his entire focus to the ClothesBox Foundation. Over the next decade, the team grew to areas ignored by other donation drives.
When asked about his success, Sajan says, “Well, we listen to people. We take people’s response very seriously. We then adapt the donations to the needs of each area we are delivering them to. Clothes need to suit the people in each area.”
The journey has been phenomenal for Sajan, whose voice carries a slight pride as he speaks of the foundation’s work. “Real learning comes from doing,” he emphasizes when asked what it takes to run such a project without any prior knowledge. Leading a project that links people who have extra with those who need help, he shares, “I’ve always learnt from my seniors that where there are problems there are also opportunities.”
1.Why does Sajan distribute clothes to labourers?
A.They are often ignored. B.Their clothes wear easily.
C.He wanted to attract attention. D.His family asked him to do so.
2.What did Sajan decide to do after the TV show?
A.Reply to calls and messages. B.Focus entirely on the project.
C.Organize a new donation drive. D.Share charity experience with people.
3.What led to the success of Sajan’s project?
A.He delivered without delay. B.He had a large social network.
C.He tailored donations to local needs. D.He saw the potential in public service.
4.What can be a suitable title for the text?
A.The Journey to Great Wealth B.The Project of Career Success

MIT scientists have created a kind of high-tech "wrap" capable of collecting safe drinking water directly from the air even in extreme environments.
The water harvester is made from hydrogel (水凝胶) that is wrapped between two layers of glass. At night, the device absorbs water vapor (蒸汽) from the atmosphere. During the day, the vapor becomes water on the glass thanks to a coating that keeps the glass cool. The liquid water then flows down the glass and is collected in a system of tubes. The hydrogel comes in a special shape---a series of round roofs with a circular base, which are like a sheet of wrap that expands when absorbing water vapor. The shape increases the material's surface area, which increases the amount of vapor it can hold. This process requires no electricity, enhancing its sustainability and suitability.
Scientists tested the new device for a week in Death Valley, the hottest and driest place in North America. It could even generate about 1/4 to 2/3 of a cup of water (57 ml--161.5 ml) every day. In other areas, the device should generate more. One challenge with the hydrogel had been the leakage of harmful salts into the collected water, but the team overcame this by using a salt stabilizer, reducing harmful salt leakage to concentrations well below safety limits for groundwater.
While one panel might not produce enough water to sustain an entire household, it doesn't take up much space, which means multiple panels could be set up for a single household. The scientists estimate that eight panels could be enough to supply a household in places where there isn't easy access to safe drinking water. Compared to the costs of bottled water, the device could pay for itself in less than a month and last at least one year.
The new water harvester is a major step towards providing safe, accessible drinking water for people across the globe, and works wherever you may find water vapor in the air. The team plans to test the panels in more resource-limited environments to learn more about the device's performance under different conditions.
1. What determines the amount of the hydrogel's water harvest?
A. The quality of the cool coating. B. The number of the glass layers.
C. The specially designed structure. D. The vapor-absorbing frequency.
2. What advantage of the device is stressed inparagraph?
A. It is sustainable. B. It is high-tech.
C. It is productive. D. It is heat-resistant.
3. What is paragraph 4 mainly about?
A. The device's potential for home use.
B. The device's low cost for households
C. The panel's suitability for tiny spaces.
D. The panel's capacity for water supply.
4. What is the team's next focus concerning the device?
A. Doing global tests on it. B. Exploring its adaptability.
C. Enhancing its effectiveness. D. Introducing it to other fields.

(2026·河北·一模)Inspired by butterfly wings, a team of German researchers have developed a new kind of robotic wings that can work using only magnetic fields (磁场). The new wings created by the Technical University of Darmstadt researchers need no batteries or electronics.
The researchers drew inspiration from the remarkable efficiency and endurance (持久力) of monarch butterflies, known to have incredibly long migrations between Canada and Mexico. Every autumn, millions of Monarch butterflies start a 3,000-mile journey from their North American breeding grounds to the warmer climate of southwestern Mexico for the winter.
These new robotic wings achieve energy-efficient flight by combining movement with passive bending, which was rarely copied outside the natural world. The team, led by Professor Oliver Gutfleisch and Dr. Denys Makarov, used a combination of flexible plastic fixed with tiny magnetic particles (颗粒) to build the wings.
The team found that the magnetic particles, when exposed to external magnetic fields, caused the wings to bend in a manner similar to that of butterflies. Achieving the desired design proved challenging; however, after testing fewer than 12 different designs, the team could develop wings strikingly similar to those that evolved in butterflies.
Looking ahead, these new wings could have a wide range of applications. One could be environmental research in which winged robots monitor pollinator populations or measure air quality. They could also be helpful in disasters, with their small, energy-efficient design enabling robots to navigate dangerous areas for search and rescue operations. The team also pointed out that the new design could also be readily adapted for medical sciences.
The principle of using magnetic particles in this way could also open doors for developing new kinds of artificial muscles or other innovative materials that can change shape on demand. While the robotic wings currently rely on external magnetic fields to change shape, the team is optimistic about integrating man-made magnetic field generators into future upgrades of the technology. “We plan to explore what changes to magnetic fields can enable more complex movements and control,” explained Muhammad Bilal Khan, another lead author.
1.What’s the driving power of the robotic wings?
A.The air pressure. B.The magnetic field.
C.The rechargeable battery. D.The electronic motor.
2.What does paragraph 5 mainly talk about?
A.The potential of the robotic wings.
B.Challenges facing the research team.
C.The working principle of the robots.
D.Uncertainties in developing robotic wings.
3.What does the last paragraph imply about the robotic wings?
A.They should still depend on outside magnetic fields.
B.Their use is strictly limited to environmental monitoring.
C.They are expected to operate in controlled magnetic fields.
D.Their new versions will function as well as human muscles.
4.Which is a suitable title for the text?
A.The Monarch Butterfly’s 3,000-Mile Journey

The Underdog Effect is a phenomenon where people are more likely to support those who are regarded as disadvantaged or less likely to succeed. This doesn’t just happen in sports or competitions; it’s a deep-seated response that influences our behavior in many areas of life.
At its core, the Underdog Effect is about rooting for those who are clearly at a huge disadvantage. Think of the classic tale of David and Goliath, where a young shepherd (牧羊人) defeats a giant warrior (武士) with nothing but simple weapons like a stone. This story has lasted for centuries, not just because of its dramatic narrative (叙事), but because it connects with something everyone feels: wanting the weak to defeat the strong.
This effect is not limited to ancient tales. In modern times, we see it in movies, literature, and everyday life. Characters like Rocky Balboa, Harry Potter, and even companies like Apple in its early days, inspire us because they show the underdog spirit. We’re drawn to these stories because they reflect a struggle against hardship, and that struggle is something we can all relate to on some level.
In a broader cultural context, the love for underdogs can be seen across different societies and eras. Whether it’s a small nation fighting for independence, a startup challenging a corporate giant, or an individual standing up against systemic injustice, the narrative of the underdog is universally engaging. It’s a proof to the human spirit’s resilience and the belief that, with enough determination, anyone can succeed despite the odds.
While the Underdog Effect can inspire and unite us, it also has its downsides. Our support for the underdog, while often well-intentioned, can sometimes lead to unintended consequences and unrealistic expectations.
Despite its potential limitations, the Underdog Effect can be a powerful tool when used thoughtfully and ethically. Whether you’re looking to motivate yourself, build a brand, or connect with others, understanding how to use this effect can help you achieve your goals while staying true to your values.
1.What can we learn about the Underdog Effect from the first paragraph?
A.It mainly occurs in sports.
B.It makes people support the strong.
C.It affects people’s behavior in various fields.

A.It has an exciting plot.
B.It connects people’s feelings.
C.It tells a shepherd’s life.
D.It shows the power of weapons.
3.What does the underlined word “resilience” in paragraph 4 probably mean?
A.Fairness. B.Width. C.Desire. D.Toughness.
4.What is the author’s overall view towards the Underdog Effect?
A.It is an outdated and useless concept.
B.It is a simple trick used in advertising.
C.It has both positive and negative aspects.
D.It is completely harmless and beneficial.

(25-26高三上·江苏徐州·月考)For centuries, sleep has been deemed a basic biological need,a state humans took for granted. Today, amid the spread of artificial light and pervasive digital devices, restorative sleep has become an elusive commodity. According to a landmark global study in Sleep Health, upwards of 38% of adults worldwide curtail sleep to fewer than the clinically recommended 7 hours, a trend sparking urgent concerns among public health experts.
The ramifications of chronic sleep deprivation extend far beyond diurnal fatigue. This condition perturbs the body’s natural rhythms, elevating susceptibility to severe cardiometabolic disorders such as adiposity, heart disease, and type 2 diabetes. For the human body, sustained sleep loss is not a trivial issue but a silent stressor that erodes physical health step by step.
Even more disconcertingly, a study led by Dr. Tina Sundelin at the Karolinska Institute revealed mild sleep curtailment exerts discernible effects on facial aesthetics. Participants restricted to 4 hours of sleep nightly for two days were rated by blind assessors as far less vibrant, more haggard, and less appealing than when well-rested. The somatic toll of poor sleep is thus inscribed on the visage within hours, shaping social and professional perceptions.
For rotating-shift personnel like nurses, factory operatives and pilots, the issue is systemic.Their work schedules force them to sleep against intrinsic circadian oscillators, inducing chronic chronodisruption — akin to perpetual jet lag. A 2024 meta-analysis highlighted this misalignment links to a 38% higher risk of ischemic heart disease than day-shift workers, a hidden health cost for societal functionality.
Addressing this crisis demands structural shifts, not ephemeral panaceas. Public health advocates urge sleep to be enshrined as a foundational health objective, including educating on sleep hygiene, redesigning circadian-aligned work schedules and adjusting teen school start times. Ultimately, redefining sleep as an indispensable health cornerstone is the first step to building a well-rested, resilient society.
1.What is the primary function of the data in the first paragraph?
A.Forecast sleep pattern shifts
B.Contrast cross-national sleep habits
C.Detail the study’s experimental design
D.Illustrate the crisis’s prevalence
2.What does Dr.Tina Sundelin’s study primarily demonstrate about sleep loss?
A.Rapidly impairs facial attractiveness
B.Triggers long-term cardiometabolic issues
C.Diminishes workplace productivity
D.Induces chronic chronodisruption
3.According to the passage, why are rotating-shift personnel particularly vulnerable?
A.Lack awareness of sleep somatics
B.Perform strenuous physical labor
C.Sleep conflicts with circadian rhythms
D.Have restricted healthcare access
4.Which of the following would be the best title for the passage?
A.Tech Innovations in Sleep Monitoring
B.Shift Work:A Concealed Epidemic
C.Adolescent Sleep and Academic Outcomes
D.Prioritize Sleep:A Public Health Imperative

(25-26高三上·福建福州·期中)If you have used Google lately and been lucky — or unlucky — enough to encounter an answer to your query (查询) rather than a bunch of links, you have been subjected to something called AI Overviews, a new core feature that Google has been rolling out.
What’s different about AI Overviews is that answers are not simply extracted (提取) from relevant sources but generated behind the scenes by Google’s generative AI technology. The goal of AI Overviews is to give you a personalized, on-demand answer instead of a standard set of documents matching your query. But there’s more to the picture.
People’s searching needs don’t end with factual information. They look for ideas, opinions and advice. Looking for suggestions about how to keep the cheese from sliding off (滑落) your pizza? Google will tell you that you should add some glue (胶水) to the sauce (酱 汁). While a reasonable user can understand that such shocking answers are likely to be wrong, it’s hard to detect that for factual questions. Google has acknowledged issues with AI Overviews and said it has addressed them. But the concern remains: Can you really trust any answers you receive through this service?
There are alternatives. You can always go back to the traditional Google search with its 10 blue links. You can then do what you have likely done for decades now — sift through some of the top results, visit a few of those sites and decide for yourself. It does take a little work, but it gives you back the ability to examine multiple sites and evidence to support or disprove something. More importantly, you leave open the possibilities for learning and discovery.
AI Overviews is like fast food that gets delivered through a drive-through window (免下车取餐窗口) — it’s quick, hot and convenient, but not the healthiest choice, that is, at the cost of nutrition. Perhaps you can’t afford to eat out at a nice restaurant every time, but it’s important to avoid ending up going through a drive — through for all your nutrition. After all, you are what you eat and similarly, you are how you search.
1.What is a feature of AI Overviews?
A.It simply extract answers from relevant sources
B.It provides individualized, on-demand answers.
C.It produces a standard set of documents.
D.It provides you with a bunch of links
2.What does the author indicate by mentioning “cheese” and “pizza”?
A.Cheese is an important ingredient (成分) of pizza.
B.People’s needs end up with factual information.
C.AI Overviews deals with factual information well.
D.AI Overviews sometimes offer unreasonable responses.
3.What does the underlined phrase “sift through” probably mean in paragraph 4?
A.Look and sort through. B.Wait for. C.Predict. D.Summarize.
4.Which can be a suitable title for the text?
A.AI Overviews:A Reliable Source for Query
B.AI Overviews: The End of Traditional Search Engines
C.AI Overviews: Convenience at the Cost of Nutrition
D.AI Overviews: The Future of Learning and Discovery

(25-26高三下·河北雄安·开学考试)Think of a situation that makes you nervous. Maybe you’re taking a test. Or maybe you’re at the doctor’s office, about to get a shot. Your mind races. Your heart pounds. Just then, a source of comfort walks in on a dog. As you give it touches and rubs, your nerves melt away.
People who love dogs know they can brighten any situation. This is the logic behind therapy (治疗) — dog programs, which pair trained dogs with people who need to be comforted. With their calm personalities, therapy dogs can stay relaxed in high-stress environments. Dr. Jeffrey Kline is associate chair of research in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Wayne State University, in Indiana. He knew that therapy dogs have been proven to reduce stress for adult patients in hospital emergency rooms. He wondered if the dogs would help kids. The results of his study, released in JAMA Network Open in March, are positive.
Kline conducted the study at Riley Children’s Hospital, in Indianapolis. It included 80 kids, aged5 to 17. The participants were emergency-room patients. All received care from a specialist trained to help patients handle stress. Half the group also received a visit from a therapy dog and its handler.
According to the study results, patients who spent 10 minutes with a dog saw their anxiety level drop by nearly half. The effects lasted for up to two hours. “Both the children and their parents had their anxiety reduced more quickly and completely.” Kline told TIME for Kids. “These findings support the role of therapy dogs in pediatric (儿科) emergency departments.”
Kline’s study shows that therapy dogs are a powerful tool for easing anxiety in patients and their families. He hopes to take the idea further. “We are working toward a protocol (医疗方案) to provide ‘dog on demand’ for hospitalized patients,” he says. He expects demand to grow for therapy dogs in hospitals across the country.
1.How does the author introduce the topic of the text?
A.By quoting scientific research. B.By mentioning relevant situations.
C.By presenting historical facts. D.By telling a personal story.
2.What facts are the therapy-dog programs based on?
A.Dogs depend on humans for survival. B.Dogs can be friends of human beings.
C.Dogs are easy to build trust with people. D.Dogs are able to relieve stress for people.
3.What can be inferred about the study?
A.It was the first study on therapy dogs’ impact.
B.It stressed parents’ anxiety level dropped greater.
C.It showed therapy dogs could replace specialist care.
D.It proved therapy dogs’ anxiety-reducing effect on kids.
4.What is Kline’s attitude to therapy dogs in hospitals?
A.Unclear. B.Skeptical. C.Approving. D.Dismissive.

Salt and pepper shakers are often dismissed as decorative or unnecessary, but they serve several purposes.
The main benefit is cleanliness. Open bowls of salt, no matter how delicate they look, invite people to use it with their fingers or spoons. When I see guests do this, I'm always nervous of the possible bacteria in there. 1 .
There's also the matter of presentation. When the dinners with guests are over, details count. Well chosen shakers beautify the table, while plastic or glass supermarket containers look temporary and out of place. My wife Debbie thinks it's funny, but I like to display everything for aesthetics (美感). 2 , but they do help create an atmosphere, and small touches matter.
Convenience is another factor. Shakers are designed for speed and consistency. A quick shake gives just the right amount without measuring. 3 . Shakers would occupy the same space that the supermarket containers do, but they'd help us limit the amount of salt in our meal, which helps keep the dishes both delicious and healthy.
4 . Debbie doesn't really care, but she once expressed an interest in some antique Victorian silver ones, which I'm open to. However, I'd like to see her show more interest in our purchase, as she will be using them too.
Proper shakers combine cleanliness, presentation, and convenience in a way that open bowls and plastic containers can't. 5 . Debbie should be grateful she has a partner who cares so deeply about the little things
A. So I put a cover on each of them
B. I've ruined many dishes by over-salting
C. People might not comment on these little details
D. I want wooden ones to match our kitchen counters
E. They are small but enhance the feel of a shared home
F. The plastic supermarket shakers do the job perfectly well
G. A shaker, on the other hand, keeps it covered and well prepared

(25-26高二上·江西宜春·期末)The relationship between sports and arts is obvious. There are many striking similarities between them. As an art enthusiast, I notice people’s narrow view of creativity — limiting arts to mere drawing-is unreasonable. Arts go beyond this, requiring skill and imagination to express ideas. 1 . Indoor games like chess engage the body and the mind. Arts and sports are, therefore, birds of a feather, and they ought to flock (聚集) together. The following is something that you may want to know.
2 . Athletes’ self-control enhances (promote) artistic effectiveness-few would run 90 minutes for fun, yet passion drives such commitment (投入). This determined spirit mirrors artistic mastery. Just as athletes push their limits to achieve top performance, artists can channel the same drive into improving their skills and expanding their creative horizons.

As a radio presenter, I noticed that individuals often prefer music from their teens or early twenties. 1
Firstly, we tend to have a different good memory between the ages of about ten and thirty. 2 The second reason is that music is a powerful trigger for our emotions, which in turn sparks our memories. The music in our teen years is likely to have lots of emotions to understand, so even a very small part of a particular song can bring powerful feelings and memories flooding back.
3 It can have a calming effect, putting you in a relaxed mood, ready to remember. Rhythms and rhymes are great memory aids. And when we love a song, we tend to repeat it over and over again. Singing or playing something can even activate “muscle memory”, and there are many cases of people with severe memory loss still being able to perform music they learned decades ago.
So the next time you hear a familiar song, put it to good use, to explore and exercise your memory. Think about the places and people it reminds you of and the emotions it brings. 4 Remember a particular time in your life, think about the music you listened to then and let it take you back, following the connections as you piece together the past.
You can also use music when you’re learning. 5 If you’re dealing with several topics, play different styles of music while learning different things.
Experiment to see what works for you. Songs can have a powerful impact on memory, and that should be music to everyone’s ears!
A.There are two very good reasons for that.
B.The following practical suggestions are just for you.
C.There are further ways in which music boosts recall.
D.Find recordings that energize your thinking in your study.
E.Some people use music to make themselves fall asleep faster.
F.You may feel as if you rediscover the richest details of your past.
G.Most of us have more novel and exciting memorable experiences then.

(24-25高三下·河南·月考)Green-roofed structures date back thousands of years, even before the concept of housing as it is known today was birthed. 1 . It all started when Germany invented technology against roof entering. The new technology was heavily marketed and most people in Germany started adopting green roofs. Since then, many technologies have come up that have advanced green roofs. Today, green roofs are growing in popularity across the world.
2 . What most people are dying for is the green outer vegetation, but what they do not know is the details beneath. Classically, there are two types of green roofs: intensive and extensive. The extensive roof design has a thin depth of soil with few layers, while the intensive one has multiple deep layers of soil with widely varied plant life.
Green roofs offer design, environmental and ecological benefits. On the design aspect, a green roof is one of the main ways to integrate nature into your home. 3 . It offers excellent views from above and below where applicable. The roof is worth every penny when it comes to the aesthetic (审美的) value it adds to a home. Environmentally, a green roof is one of the best ways to create a microclimate in your home. It provides a cool, quiet microclimate for your home. Even if you live in a hot area, a green roof will bring a cooling effect to your surroundings.
A green roof is a win in many aspects. 4 . Its environmental benefits are only applicable in situations where you intend to keep it for long. If you intend to replace yours in a few years, stick to a normal roof. You should probably also consider your location and the cost of setting it up. Based on location, a green roof might be a bit problematic if you experience very cold weather. Green roofs bring a cooling effect. 5 .
A.However, this does not mean it is good for you
B.There is more to green roofing than to meet the eye
C.It brings the beauty of the wild right into your home
D.In cold regions, they may lead to extra heating costs
E.Modern green roofing technology took shape around the 1960s
F.This is separate from the cost needed to repair the normal roof underneath
G.Thus, most people started paying attention to nature, leading to the popularity of green roofs

(25-26高三上·山东济宁·期末)Our world faces a twofold challenge: feeding a population projected to reach 10 billion by 2050 while minimizing environmental degradation. Precision agriculture (PA) emerges as a transformative solution. 1 To put it precisely, it uses digital tools and real-time data to tailor farming practices-from planting to harvesting. This data-driven approach promises not only higher yields but also greater sustainability, making it a cornerstone of modern food systems.
One example is the use of drones equipped with multispectral sensors to monitor crop health. The drones fly over the fields and take high-resolution photos and data in a variety of light wavelengths. Weaker plants show clear differences in light reflection when compared to healthy ones. 2 They can apply fertilizer, water, or pesticides just where they are needed instead of randomly over their fields.
3 High upfront costs for equipment and software can exclude small-scale farmers, particularly in low-income regions. Data privacy concerns also arise as more farm operations rely on interconnected digital systems. 4 Governments and private sectors must invest in education and rural broadband expansion. Besides, collaborations between tech companies, universities, and farmers’ cooperatives can help speed up innovation.
As climate change intensifies, PA will play a critical role in building a food system capable of adapting to shifting weather patterns. Its ability to turn data into actionable insights may well determine whether we can feed future generations without sacrificing the health of our Earth. 5
In a world where every decision matters, there’s no better time to embrace this revolution.
A.PA is not without its challenges.
B.It functions as a one-size-fits-all approach.
C.To overcome these challenges, joint efforts are needed.
D.Using the information, farmers can make focused decisions.
E.It uses advanced technologies to optimize every aspect of farming.
F.By making data-dependent decisions, farmers can improve productivity.
G.In essence, PA isn’t just about growing more; it’s about growing smarter.

(2026·陕西·模拟预测)Scientific literacy refers to the ability to understand, interpret and evaluate scientific information. It enables people to grasp how and why things work the way they do. 1 Here are some ways to improve scientific literacy:
Fight misinformation.
Science education is essential to fighting misinformation. 2 Without this ability, they’re more likely to take untrue or science illiterate alternatives at face value. This has led to people outright denying the reality of climate change and global warming. Teaching people how to identify reliable information can prevent such misconceptions.
3
People are more likely to achieve scientific literacy when they see it has practical value. So show them how an increased understanding of science can boost economic productivity, increase personal well-being, improve professional development, and have a positive general impact on their everyday lives.
Specify needed skills.
4 To make learning more manageable, it’s important to break these down into smaller, digestible components. For example, show people how to form a hypothesis (假设), conduct an experiment using the scientific method, or read through a science paper and evaluate its truthfulness.
Take a wide-angle view.
Encourage people to study different scientific fields. For example, someone may have a hard time understanding the scientific processes underlying a life science (like chemistry) but also take to a more physical branch of the field (like earth science). Use their enthusiasm for the latter to inspire them to work harder to understand the former. 5
A.Demonstrate real-world benefits.
B.Show how to engage with science.
C.It also enhances their critical thinking skills.
D.Scientific literacy involves a wide range of skills.
E.People must learn to check if information sources are true.
F.Multiple skills can be presented in a rather innovative way.

Young children across the globe enjoy playing games of hide and seek. For them, there’s something highly exciting about 1 someone else’s glance and making oneself unable to be seen.
However, we all witness that preschool children are remarkably bad at hiding. They often cover only their eyes with their hands, leaving the rest of their bodies 2 .
For a long time, this ineffective hiding method was 3 as evidence that children are hopelessly “egocentric” (自我中心的) creatures. But our surprising research results in child developmental psychology 4 that idea.

According to the International Energy Agency, rising overall demand for electricity is outstripping (超过) the world’s efforts to improve efficiency and boost renewables. The fact is, economic development will inevitably require greater 2 of electricity. It is increasingly clear that nuclear power plants must play an important role in this equation
Nuclear power is, in many ways, the most promising source of zero-carbon electricity. Unlike solar, wind and water power, electricity from nuclear plants is 3 . The alarming near-meltdown at Pennsylvania’s Three Mile Island plant in 1979 8 exposed neighbors to about one-sixth the radiation dose they would receive from having a single X-ray.
Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates is one of a growing number of 9 who believe that cheaper, smaller reactors must play a significant part in the post-carbon energy mix. His company Terra Power has announced plans to build a next-generation nuclear reactor at the site of a former coal-fired power plant in Wyoming. The goal is to prove that nuclear power can be 10 to the grid (输电网) at a competitive price and on a reasonable timeline.
I’m an optimistic supporter of renewable energy sources. I’m also a (n) 11 student of the various impediments (阻碍) to the growth of these sources. I agree with Gates that the surest path to net-zero carbon emissions is one that 12 every non-carbon energy source, including nuclear power.
【答案】1.D 2.B 3.A

【答案】1.D 2.C 3. B 4. D
根据第一段中的“girls and boys from such communities were nowhere to be seen on the costly club circuit”(在昂贵的俱乐部巡回赛上看不到来自这些社区的男孩女孩)和“to help talented young players whocould not afford club fees"(帮助那些负担不起俱乐部费用的有天赋的年轻球员)可知,该项目设立的初衷是消除经济障碍,让有天赋的贫困孩子也能追求足球梦想。故选D项。
根据第二段中的“his parents sacrificed time, money and energy...tournaments"可知,他的父母牺牲了时间、金钱和精力来支持他参与足球运动。根据“Hehad a social network of people who backed his passion andreally wanted to see him succeed”可知,他身有一群支持他的爱好且真心希望他成功的人,而“That foundationhelped”说明上述支持非常重要。结合这些信息可推断,本段核心是阐述“支持”在他成长中的重要作用。parents sacrificed + network of people + backed his passion +wanted to see him succeed + That foundation helped-The value of assistance. 故选C项。
根据末段中的“Coach Precious Ogu understands how priceless such sense of belonging is. Feeling out of place in a wealthy suburban club shaped herbelief”可知,教练Precious Ogu理解这种归属感多么宝贵,她曾经在富裕的郊区俱乐部感到格格不人的经历塑造了她的信念,再结合本段开头和结尾描述的训练场景可知,她最看重的是项目为孩子们创造的归属感和被接纳、受欢迎的环境。故选D项。

【答案】1.B 2.D 3.A 4.A
根据第二段“Every time I brought my writings home, mom would notice many mistakes. Bu no red corrections always a star. Somotimes-even a Good! It made my heart soar with happiness, but it worried my mom. (每次我把我的作品带回家,妈妈都会注意到很多错误。但是没有红色的修正,总是有一个小星星,有时候甚至是一个“好!”这让我心里充满了喜悦,但却让妈妈很担心。)”以及后文“One day when she met Mrs. White, she asked her why she never corrected my mistakes—why she never red-penciled in the right spellings or pointed out grammatical errors.( 有一天,当她见到怀特老师时,便问她为何从不纠正我的错误——为何从不用红笔标出正确的拼写方式,也从不指出语法上的错误。)” B选项“The teacher’s response to the writings.(教师对这些作品的回应。)”
根据第三段“Mom said Mrs. White replied, ‘The children are just beginning to get excited about using words, about forming sentences. I don’t want to dampen that enthusiasm with red ink. Spelling and grammar can wait. The wonder of words won’t.’(妈妈说怀特老师回答说:“孩子们刚刚开始对使用单词、组成句子感到兴奋。我不想用红墨水来抑制他们的热情。拼写和语法可以等一等。单词的奇妙之处不会等。”)”可知,从怀特老师的回复中推断出她很小心,不想破坏孩子们表达的乐趣。故选D。
3.推理判断题。根据第四段“Now it occurs to me that if Mrs. White had used her red pen more precisely, I probably wouldn’t be telling you about this now. I look back and think she must have been a rather extraordinary teacher—for exercising such red-pen restraint, to allow the pleasure, wonder, and excitement of expression to flower—however faultily—like that. (现在我想到,如果怀特老师更精确地使用她的红笔,我可能现在就不会跟你说这些了。我回想起来,觉得她一定是一位相当非凡的老师——她如此克制地使用红笔,让表达的乐趣、惊奇和兴奋能够像那样绽放——尽管有错误。)”以及最后一段中“Thanks to Mrs. White, I never hesitate to write what I mean—even with imperfect spelling.( 多亏了怀特夫人,我敢于直抒己见——即便拼写不太准确也没关系。)” 故选A。
结合最后一段“Because life isn’t ‘pretty’—it’s ‘baeutiful’: flawed yet truly wonderful. (因为生活不是“美好的”——它是“美丽的”:有缺陷但真的很精彩。)”以及通读全文,文章主要讲述了作者幼儿园的White老师不纠正学生写作中的错误,让学生自由表达,这种教学方式对作者产生了深远的影响,让作者敢于用不完美的拼写表达自己真实的想法。因此作者写这篇文章的目的是为了纪念一位受尊敬的幼儿园老师。故选A。

2.What do we know about fungi from Paragraph 3?
A.They are mainly used to produce plastic alternatives.
B.They can only survive in forests and on trees.
C.They play a key role in maintaining ecological balance.
D.They are the most nutrient-rich organisms on earth.
3.What was the result of Furci’s proposal in 2010?
A.Chile became the first country to study fungi systematically.
B.A law to protect fungi was passed in Chile two years later.
C.Over-harvesting of fungi in Chile was completely banned.
D.New developments in Chile were stopped to protect fungi.
4.Which of the following best describes Furci?
A.Ambitious and cautious. B.Stubborn and determined.
C.Passionate and committed. D.Knowledgeable but indifferent.
【答案】1.B 2.C 3.B 4.C

(2026·河北唐山·一模)Sajan Veer Abrol is the founder of the Clothes Box Foundation in Gurugram, India.
C 2. C 3. A 4. B
第二段详细描述了水凝胶水收集装置的核心设计: "made from... wrapped between two layers of glass" "The hydrogel comes in a special shape... The shape increases the material's surface area, which increases the amount of vapor it can hold”(水凝胶被夹在两层玻璃中。水凝胶呈现一种特殊形状,一系列带有圆形基座的圆顶结构......这种形状增加了水凝胶的表面积,从而增加了它能容纳的水蒸气量)。本段明确指出,特殊设计的形状(结构)通过增加表面积,直接决定了水凝胶能吸收和容纳的水蒸气量,进而决定了水收集量。故选C项。
2.推理判断题。依据第三段“Scientists tested the new device for a week in Death Valley... It could even generate about1/4 to 2/3 of a cup of water... In other areas, the deviceshould generate more”表明,即使在北美最热、最干燥的死谷,该装置每天都能产出一定量的水,在其他地区产量应该会更高,这体现了其具有多产、高效的优势。故选C项。
故选A项。
根据最后一段最后一句“The team plans to test the panels in more resource-limited environments to learn more about the device's performance under differentconditions"可知,该团队计划在更多资源有限的环境中测试该装置,以了解它在不同条件下的性能。这体现了该团队接下来关注的重点是探索该装置在不同环境下的 适 应 性。more resource-limited environments+device's performance under different conditions→adaptability。故选B项。

Passage 2
D.It is a newly discovered social phenomenon.
2.Why does the David and Goliath story last long?
A.It has an exciting plot. B.It connects people’s feelings.
C.It tells a shepherd’s life. D.It shows the power of weapons.
3.What does the underlined word “resilience” in paragraph 4 probably mean?
A.Fairness. B.Width. C.Desire. D.Toughness.
4.What is the author’s overall view towards the Underdog Effect?
A.It is an outdated and useless concept.
B.It is a simple trick used in advertising.
C.It has both positive and negative aspects.
D.It is completely harmless and beneficial.
根据第一段中的“The Underdog Effect is a phenomenon where people are more likely to support those who are regarded as disadvantaged or less likely to succeed. This doesn’t just happen in sports or competitions; it’s a deep-seated response that influences our behavior in many areas of life.(劣势者效应是指人们更倾向于支持那些被认为处于劣势或不太可能成功的人的一种现象。这不仅仅发生在体育或竞赛中;这是一种根深蒂固的反应,会影响我们生活中许多领域的行为)”可知,劣势者效应会影响人们多个领域的行为。故选C项。
2.细节理解题。根据第二段中的“This story has lasted for centuries, not just because of its dramatic narrative (叙事), but because it connects with something everyone feels: wanting the weak to defeat the strong.(这个故事流传了几个世纪,不仅因为它富有戏剧性的叙事,更因为它触动了每个人都有的一种感受:希望弱者战胜强者)”可知,大卫与歌利亚的故事能长久流传,核心原因是它能联结人们的情感。故选B项。
根据第四段中的“It’s a proof to the human spirit’s resilience and the belief that, with enough determination, anyone can succeed despite the odds.(这证明了人类精神的resilience,也证明了这样一种信念:只要有足够的决心,任何人都能克服困难取得成功)”可知,后文“有决心克服困难取得成功”是对前文“人类精神特质”的解释,由此可猜测resilience意为“坚韧、韧性”,与toughness同义。故选D项。
根据第五段中的“While the Underdog Effect can inspire and unite us, it also has its downsides.(虽然劣势者效应能激励我们、团结我们,但它也有其弊端)”以及第六段中的“Despite its potential limitations, the Underdog Effect can be a powerful tool when used thoughtfully and ethically.(尽管存在潜在的局限性,但当合理且道德地运用时,劣势者效应可以成为一个有力的工具)”可知,作者认为劣势者效应既有积极方面(激励、团结人,可作为有力工具),也有消极方面(有弊端、潜在局限性),即兼具正反两面。

【答案】1.D 2.A 3.C 4.D
根据第一段中的“According to a landmark global study in Sleep Health, upwards of 38% of adults worldwide curtail sleep to fewer than the clinically recommended 7 hours, a trend sparking urgent concerns among public health experts.(根据《睡眠健康》杂志一项具有里程碑意义的全球研究,全球超过38%的成年人将睡眠时间缩短至临床推荐的7小时以下,这一趋势引发了公共卫生专家的迫切关注)”可知,这些数据主要是为了说明睡眠不足这一危机在全球的普遍程度。故选D项。
根据第三段中的“Even more disconcertingly,a study led by Dr.Tina Sundelin at the Karolinska Institute revealed mild sleep curtailment exerts discernible effects on facial aesthetics.Participants restricted to 4 hours of sleep nightly for two days were rated by blind assessors as far less vibrant, more haggard, and less appealing than when well-rested.(更令人不安的是,卡罗林斯卡学院蒂娜・桑德林博士主导的一项研究表明:轻微的睡眠不足就会对面部美观产生明显影响。 连续两晚每晚只睡 4 小时的受试者,在不知情的评估者看来,与休息充足时相比,气色更差、面容更憔悴、吸引力也更低)”可知,蒂娜·桑德林博士的研究主要表明睡眠不足会迅速损害面部吸引力。故选A项。
根据第四段中的“Their work schedules force them to sleep against intrinsic circadian oscillators, inducing chronic chronodisruption—akin to perpetual jet lag.(他们的工作时间表迫使他们违背内在的生物钟睡眠,导致慢性时间紊乱——类似于持续的时差反应)”可知,轮班工作人员特别容易受到影响是因为他们的睡眠与昼夜节律冲突。故选C项。

【答案】1.B 2.D 3.A 4.C
根据第二段“The goal of AI Overviews is to give you a personalized, on-demand answer instead of a standard set of documents matching your query. (AI概览的目标是为你提供个性化的按需解答,而非与你的查询匹配的一套标准文件。)”可知,AI概览的核心特征是提供个性化、按需定制的答案。故选B项。
2.推理判断题。根据第三段“Looking for suggestions about how to keep the cheese from sliding off (滑落) your pizza? Google will tell you that you should add some glue (胶水) to the sauce (酱 汁). While a reasonable user can understand that such shocking answers are likely to be wrong, it’s hard to detect that for factual questions. (想知道如何防止披萨上的芝士滑落吗?谷歌会告诉你应该在酱汁里加些胶水。虽然理性的用户能明白这类离谱的答案很可能是错的,但面对事实性问题时,就很难察觉其中的谬误了。)”可知,作者提及该例子是为了说明AI概览有时会给出不合理的回应。故选D项。
3.词句猜测题。根据第四段“You can then do what you have likely done for decades now — sift through some of the top results, visit a few of those sites and decide for yourself. (接下来你可以做几十年来你可能一直做的事 —— sift through一些热门搜索结果,访问其中几个网站,然后自行判断。)”可知,“sift through”后接“热门结果”,后续动作是“访问网站、自行判断”,结合语境可推断其意为“查看并筛选”。故选A项。
通读全文特别是最后一段“AI Overviews is like fast food that gets delivered through a drive-through window — it’s quick, hot and convenient, but not the healthiest choice, that is, at the cost of nutrition. (AI 概览就像免下车取餐窗口的快餐 —— 快捷、热乎又方便,但并非最健康的选择,也就是说,它以牺牲“营养”为代价。)”可知,文章核心是将AI概览比作快餐,强调其便捷性与可信度不足的弊端,所以C项AI Overviews: Convenience at the Cost of Nutrition(人工智能概览:以营养为代价的便利)能精准概括主旨。故选C项。

【答案】1.B 2.D 3.D 4.C

【答案】1.G 2. C 3. B 4. D 5. E

D.Arts and focus always go hand in hand—the same for sports
E.It helps them stay focused, handle challenges and improve work
F.The commitment to excellence in one area naturally impacts the other
G.These are very important for artists frequently taking part in group projects
【答案】1.A 2.B 3.E 4.G 5.F
1.根据上文“The relationship between sports and arts is obvious. There are many striking similarities between them. As an art enthusiast, I notice people’s narrow view of creativity — limiting arts to mere drawing-is unreasonable. Arts go beyond this, requiring skill and imagination to express ideas.(体育与艺术之间的关系显而易见,二者之间存在诸多显著相似之处。 故选A。
2.设空位于段首,为本段中心句,根据后文“Athletes’ self-control enhances (promote) artistic effectiveness-few would run 90 minutes for fun, yet passion drives such commitment (投入). This determined spirit mirrors artistic mastery. Just as athletes push their limits to achieve top performance, artists can channel the same drive into improving their skills and expanding their creative horizons.(运动员的自我控制能力提升了艺术表现力——很少有人会为了好玩而跑上90分钟,但正是热情驱使他们如此投入。这种坚定的精神与艺术造诣如出一辙。正如运动员不断挑战极限以追求最佳表现一样,艺术家也可以将同样的动力投入到提升技能和拓展创作视野中。)”可知,本段主要讲述了激情驱使着运动员追求卓越,所以B项“Sports enhance passion for always fighting for the best(体育能激发人们始终追求卓越的热情)”说明体育能激发人们始终追求卓越的热情,符合本段主题,为本段中心句。故选B。
3.设空位于段尾,是对前文的总结,根据前文“The competitive nature of sports fosters a sense of resilience (韧性). Artists who engage in sports learn to deal with failure and setbacks, enabling them to approach their craft with a more determined and positive mindset.(体育的竞争性培养了人们的韧性。参与体育运动的艺术家学会应对失败和挫折,这使他们能够以更加坚定和积极的心态投入到艺术创作中。)”可知,体育运动的竞争性有许多优势,E项“It helps them stay focused, handle challenges and improve work(这帮助他们保持专注力,应对挑战,并提升(艺术)创作水平。)”是对前文的总结,其中“It”指代前文“a more determined and positive mindset”,符合文意。故选E。
4.根据前文“Participating in team sports also teaches valuable lessons in cooperation and communication.(参与团队运动还能教会人们宝贵的合作与沟通技巧。)”可知,本段主要讲述参加团队运动可以提高艺术家的合作和沟通的能力,所以G项“These are very important for artists frequently taking part in group projects(这些(品质)对于经常参与团体项目的艺术家来说非常重要)”符合本段主题,强调其重要性,后文“such as theater performances or gallery showcases.(比如戏剧表演或画廊展示。)”
5.根据上文的“The devotion and passion developed through sports can significantly enhance artistic abilities.(通过体育运动培养出的专注与热情能够显著提升艺术能力。)” F“The commitment to excellence in one area naturally impacts the other(对某一领域卓越品质的追求自然会对另一领域产生影响)”进一步说明了这种相互影响的关系,承接上文。故选F。
Passage 2
【答案】1.A 2.G 3.C 4.F 5.D
1.上文“As a radio presenter, I noticed that individuals often prefer music from their teens or early twenties.(作为一名电台主持人,我注意到人们往往更喜欢自己青少年时期或二十出头时听过的音乐)”提到人们都会选择十几岁或者二十出头时期的音乐,下一段解释了两个原因,故A项“有两个很好的理由”承上启下,故选A。
2.根据上文“Firstly, we tend to have a different good memory between the ages of about ten and thirty.(首先,在10岁到30岁之间,我们的记忆力很好且有所不同)”可知,在10岁到30岁之间,我们的记忆力很好且有所不同,G项“我们大多数人都有更新奇、更令人兴奋、更难忘的经历”进一步描述10到30岁这段时期的特点,符合语境,故选G。
3.根据下文“It can have a calming effect, putting you in a relaxed mood, ready to remember. Rhythms and rhymes are great memory aids. And when we love a song, we tend to repeat it over and over again.(它可以有一种镇静的效果,让你心情放松,便于记忆。
5.根据上文“You can also use music when you’ re learning.(你也可以在学习的时候使用音乐)”及下文“If you’re dealing with several topics, play different styles of music while learning different things.(如果你要处理几个主题,在学习不同的东西的同时演奏不同风格的音乐)”可知,本段是有关音乐和学习,可以在学习时播放一些有益的音乐,D项“找一些能激发你学习思维的录音”符合语境,故选D。

Passage 4

Dear teachers and fellow students.
Today, Td like to talk about the challenges during ourteenage years. As students, we often struggle with academic pressure, which may lead to anxiety. Additionally, many of us find it hard to resist the appeal of the Internet, spending too much time online.
To overcome these challenges, I suggest we first learn to manage time effectively. Creating a schedule with balanced arrangements for study, rest and hobbies can reduce academic stress. Moreover, we should limit our screen time and engage in physical activities and music, which can relax and refresh our minds. Finally, when we're feeling helpless, turning to teachers or friends for suppot helps a lot.
Let's face challenges together and grow into better versions of ourselves. Thank you!

One possible version:
Robots Perform Chinese Martial Arts
Last week, I watched an amazing robot show of Chinese martial arts at the City Science and Technology Festival.
Dressed in traditional kung fu uniforms, the humanoid robots moved with precision — their punches sharp, stances steady, just like real masters. Their synchronized routine drew loud cheers from the crowd. This show made me see that technology breathes new life into traditional culture.
Combining AI with martial arts preserves ancient traditions in a modern way, making them more appealing to young people. Innovation and heritage truly go hand in hand.

A Robot Dance Competition Held Successfully
Last Friday, our school successfully held a wonderful robot dance competition in the school hall, which appealed to many students and teachers to watch.
Teams from different grades showcased their well-programmed robots. The robots danced neatly to various music styles, some even performing difficult moves like turning and stepping. The audience cheered warmly for each team. The atmosphere was extremely lively throughout the competition.
This competition not only aroused students’ interest in science and technology but also encouraged teamwork. It was a great success that left a deep impression on everyone.
Passage 4
One possible version:
Dear classmates,
I’m glad to share how art has contributed to my personal growth. Growth is like painting: it begins with a blank canvas and, through successive attempts and efforts, gradually develops into something distinct.
When starting painting, I sought instant perfection, only to be disappointed. My teacher reminded me, “A good painting comes from revision.” Then I learned to adjust lines and colors and embrace mistakes as part of the process. Over time, this mindset has shaped how I live. When challenges arise, frustration no longer overwhelms me because I regard growth as a continuous journey of improvement.
More significantly, painting has taught me to focus on what solution I can create rather than passively waiting for answers. That’s all. Thank you!
Passage 5
One possible version:
Dear James,
I hope this email finds you well. We are grateful for your enthusiasm in celebrating our class winning the first prize at the English Drama Festival. Your support means a lot to us!
Based on the survey I conducted, 88% of us are enthusiastic about a weekend outing, while 59% favour an English movie night, followed by 32% who prefer a food party. My preference is in line with the majority, so I suggest a hiking trip along the nearby greenway, which has lively plants and stunning views. Such an outing is perfect for us to take a break from study routines, strengthen friendship and make our success more memorable.
Thanks again for your thoughtful gesture. Looking forward to our exciting celebration!
Yours sincerely,
Li Hua
Passage 6
One possible version:
Dear Mr. Smith,
I’m Li Hua, a senior from Class 1. I’m writing to recommend an English song and drama show for the upcoming English Culture and Art Festival.
This activity is highly recommended for two main reasons. First, it provides a fun and engaging way for students to practice their oral English and pronunciation through performance. Second, it can boost students’ confidence and creativity, fostering a deeper appreciation for English culture. Additionally, it will strengthen teamwork and friendship among classmates, as they rehearse and perform together.
I hope my suggestion will be helpful.
Yours sincerely,
Li Hua
Passage 7

Dear Tom,
I am writing to share with you my design for the English Reading Room in the library.
The reading room can be divided into two areas: one for different kinds of English books and the other for reading and discussion. We can put novels, magazines and English learning books there and equip it with comfortable chairs. It is necessary because it can provide us a good environment to practice English, help us improve our reading ability and arouse our interest in English learning.
I hope my suggestions will be helpful to you. Looking forward to your reply.
Yours,
Li Hua
Passage 8
One possible version:
Dear Sir or Madam,
I’m Li Hua, an exchange student from China studying in London. Knowing that volunteers are wanted for the Chinese Food Festival, I’m writing to apply for being one.
I believe I can satisfy your requirements. Firstly, I can introduce a wide range of Chinese foods due to the fact that I’ve been to many cities in China. Besides, with a good command of oral English, I have no difficulty in communicating with local people. Last but not least, having joined in many activities, I develop good communication skills.
I’d appreciate it if you could take my application into consideration. Looking forward to your reply.
Yours faithfully,
Li Hua
Passage 9
One possible version:
Dear James,
I’m writing to share with you a special experience that my class had at the Folk Culture Museum last Thursday.
We took a paper-cutting handcraft class there. Under a local artist’s guidance, I finished a delicate paper-cut of the Chinese character “Fu”, which I now stick on my bedroom door. This experience was really rewarding. I not only learned a basic new skill, but also felt the amazing charm of Chinese traditional folk culture personally.
Looking forward to your reply.
Yours,
Li Hua

My AI assistant is designed to monitor teens’ physical and mental health, which can track exercise and sleep data, offer personalized fitness plans, and provide emotional support through chat. However, the problem is that I’m unsure how to make it more user-friendly and appealing to judges.
Could you give me some suggestions on its design or function? I’d really appreciate your insights.
Looking forward to your timely reply.

Li Hua

Passage 1
One possible version:
For the next week, Megan and Liam busied themselves with the project. They spent a day cleaning the dusty chairs and tables, arranging them to create two areas: one for reading and one for acting. They carefully selected children’s books for the reading corner where kids could read and share stories. Megan brought an old carpet from home to serve as a “stage” for acting. With everything ready, they decided to hold the opening on the coming Saturday and made colorful posters inviting everyone. “Liam, you can be the first to act out your dinosaur story,” Megan suggested. Liam agreed, already looking forward to the big day.
On the opening day of the project, they waited nervously in the garden. When the first few children arrived, Liam eagerly showed them the reading area. As more kids gathered, Megan invited some to sit around the acting area and nodded for Liam to begin. “Did you know I’m a dinosaur that can fly?” Liam, now in a simple dinosaur costume, began his performance with a clear, excited voice. The children watched, laughed, and were completely drawn into the story. The head librarian stopped by, smiling warmly. Megan’s heart was full. She understood that a library could also be a place where young readers discovered the pure joy of reading.
Passage 2
One possible version:
I nodded and assigned the young volunteers to the sandwich station. The kitchen, once a place for business, was now a hub of hope. The kids dove into action, their small hands moving quickly as they wrapped sandwiches. I watched them scribble hearts and “Stay Strong” on each package — a simple gesture that deeply moved me. Despite the heat and lack of power, the kitchen was filled with hope. Together, we distributed warm meals to elderly neighbors and workers clearing fallen trees. Seeing their weary faces light up when the children handed them food, I felt a warmth that no storm could ever wash away.
Soon, similar scenes of support were playing out all over the city. From the local bookstore turned into a relief center to neighbors, Asheville was breathing as one. I heard stories of strangers with chainsaws clearing paths for those trapped, and families opening their doors to anyone in need. It was exactly like that community dance years ago — people from all walks of life holding hands to pull each other through the mud. While the storm had washed away our roads and cell signals, it had failed to break the invisible bond between us. We weren’t just a town; we were a family that no storm could ever shake.
Passage 3
One possible version:
Just then, a knock sounded at the front door. I opened it to find Pat. His face was flushed, and he shuffled his feet. “The kitten in your garden,” he said, “it’s my daughter’s. She’s worried about it.” I nodded and led him to the backyard. The kitten purred happily as Pat picked it up. Seizing the moment, I said, “Pat, I think we should talk. I’m sorry for the things I said.” Pat looked at me, a bit taken aback, then nodded. “Me too,” he mumbled.
The kitten became a frequent visitor ever since. It would scurry between our yards, bringing us closer. One sunny day, Pat waved me over. “Look at these tomatoes,” he said, smiling. We chatted about gardening, and he offered me some freshly picked ones. As we stood there, laughing and sharing, I knew the kitten had mended the rift between us. Our once-tense relationship had blossomed into a warm friendship.
Passage 4
One possible version:
Taking a deep breath, Clara opened her backpack. She took out the compass and the detailed paper map, her hands steady despite the trembling inside. With the compass in one hand and the map spread out on her lap, she carefully oriented herself. Using the map as a guide, she decided to head towards a spot where a stream was marked, hoping it would lead her to safety. She began to move slowly and cautiously through the fog.
Clara feeling her way ahead, a small stream came into view. The sound of flowing water was a welcome relief. She followed the stream downstream, knowing that it would eventually lead her to a larger body of water or a populated area. As she walked, the pain in her ankle grew more intense, but her determination kept her going. Exhausted but relieved, Clara continued along the path. With renewed energy, she quickened her pace, knowing that she was no longer lost in the dangerous maze of the forest.
Passage 5
One possible version:
At last, it was Cezar’s turn to display his train. “This isn’t just a recycled project,” Cezar announced, his voice gaining confidence. “It’s a practical solution for snowy days.” He invited three classmates to sit on the connected trays. With a gentle push, the “tray-train” slid smoothly and swiftly across the playground, leaving a neat track in the fresh snow. The students watched in awe, then erupted into cheers and applause. The useless trays were now a functional sled, turning the weather into an advantage. Cezar’s earlier failures faded before this clever, last-minute adaptation.
As kids got off the train, Ms. Rosco began to announce the winner. “The contest was about creativity, practicality, and spirit,” she said. “One project not only repurposed waste but also turned a problem — today’s heavy snow — into community fun. The winner is Cezar!” The crowd cheered wildly. Cezar, blushing with pride, accepted the Rocket Racer sled. Holding the shiny new sled in one hand and touching his humble tray-train with the other, he realized the true prize wasn’t the toy, but the lesson: perseverance and observation could transform despair into a breakthrough. His discarded trays had ultimately carried him to victory.
Passage 6
One possible version:
That evening, Gina led her mom to the storage room. On seeing the weak and trembling dog with a badly infected leg, Mom’s heart melted completely. She did not get angry or blame Gina at all. Instead, she knelt down and gently touched the poor little dog, moved by her daughter’s kindness and responsibility. Realizing how serious the situation was, she immediately decided to take Lucky to the animal hospital for professional treatment. On the way, Gina told her everything, and Mom finally agreed to let her keep the lovely dog.
Lucky recovered soon after it returned from the animal hospital. Its fur grew clean and shiny, and it became lively and active, running around happily every day. Lucky followed Gina wherever she went, wagging its tail warmly and showing endless trust and love. This experience not only taught Gina the importance of love and responsibility but also deepened the understanding between her and her mom. Kindness finally turned a small rescue into the warmest and most unforgettable memory for the whole family.
Passage 7
One possible version:
I paced the beach with my eyes fixed on their figures. The waves grew stronger, and soon I saw that Mia and Jake were being pulled farther out, even though they were trying hard to swim back. I could tell from their arms waving in the water that they were struggling, and my heart beat so fast that it hurt. I realized that the ocean was much more dangerous than we had thought, and that I had to do something right away. I remembered what Mr. Torres said — real courage means doing the right thing when it matters most.
In panic, I hurried to the lifeguard tower for help. The lifeguard jumped up as soon as he saw me pointing at the two in the water. He grabbed the rescue buoy and ran into the sea. It felt like forever, but finally, he reached them and pulled them safely to shore. When Mia and Jake lay on the sand, breathing heavily, the lifeguard said, “You’re lucky, as she came for help.” I didn’t say much, but I knew that listening to the rules and acting when it counted was the bravest thing I could have done.
Passage 8
One possible version:
He looked up, his eyes tired but soft. “And I’m sorry I dismissed yours,” he replied. “I’ve listened to your recordings — there’s raw emotion in them that moved me.” He gestured toward the house. “Your mother always said music builds bridges, not walls.” That night at the piano, Dad played classical themes as I added rock variations. Our first attempts were awkward, but soon a beautiful harmony emerged — discipline and freedom, tradition and innovation intertwined. The piano and guitar, once symbols of our divide, now wove a melody of understanding that felt like coming home.
With our co-written score in hand, I invited Dad to perform with me at the school festival. He nodded, a warm smile spreading across his face. On the festival night, under the stage’s bright glow, my father played the opening notes of our co-written piece. My guitar responded with chords of electric rock. As our music intertwined — classical elegance meeting youthful energy — I saw his focused expression soften into a genuine smile. The audience’s applause was thunderous, and in that moment, I knew the music had truly built a bridge between our hearts.

Daniel saw the note on his table. He picked up the note in front of him, looked around carefully, and then opened it quickly. His eyes rested on the note for a moment. He had clearly read it more than once. Alex saw Daniel smile as he slipped the note gently into his pocket. Everyone seemed so excited to see their own lunch notes. Everyone knew how it felt to get a lunch note. And the lunchtime became so harmonious and so pleasant.
"We can make it our tradition," Alex said to Leo. " Great idea, Alex," said Leo. They invited Daniel to plan lunch notes with them. Daniel felt very honored and would like to help. From then on, at every Monday lunchtime, everyone could see a lunch note of their own on their table. Monday lunchtime became a time to look forward to, when students would not only see good wishes written by one of their classmates, but also exchange food with each other and have a better relationship.
