He accidentally ______ ______ ______ zipper while he was trying to close it in a hurry.
【答案】 broke the tent
故填broke;the;tent。
Many families choose to ______ ______ at the weekend.
【答案】 go camping
【详解】根据中英文对照可知,此处缺“去露营”,go camping是固定结构,意为“去露营”;choose to do sth. 故填go;camping。
We can win the game only if we work ______ ______ ______.

Every scientist must get used to ________ ________ problems on their own.
【答案】 working out

Mark _______ ________ ________ better care of himself from now on.
【答案】 promised to take
【详解】根据中英文对照可知,“承诺做某事”对应英文表达 promise to do sth.,“照顾自己”对应固定短语 take care of oneself。 ②处:根据固定搭配 promise to do sth.,此处需要填入不定式符号 to。③处:“照顾” 用固定短语 take care of,在 to 后面用动词原形 take。故填promised;to;take。
My instructor advised me ________ ________ ________ ________ skiing easily.
【答案】 not to give up
动词advise常用结构为advise sb. to do sth.,否定形式为advise sb. not to do sth.,give up意为“放弃”,放在不定式之后,give用动词原形,与skiing连用表示“放弃滑雪”,符合语境。故填not;to;give;up。
________ ________ ________ ask the teacher for help when you have problems with your studies?

We _________ _________ our mobile phones _________ class.
【答案】 mustn’t bring to
故填mustn’t;bring;to。

At the Paralympic Games (残奥会), many blind or nearly blind athletes race (比赛) with the help of a guide. These pairs work very closely together.
Jerusa Geber is a runner who lost her sight as a teenager. When she races with her guide Garcia, he runs to her left. They each hold one end of a short rope. If they’ve started well, he matches her speed bit by bit, but with the opposite foot. They work so well together that Jerusa now holds the women’s world record in the 100-metre race for blind or nearly blind athletes.
Since 2012, guides at the Paralympics can win medals too. But the teamwork is about more than just winning. Garcia is a runner himself. “I like being a guide,” he said. “I feel more pressure (压力) at the Paralympics. I have to give 200% of myself to avoid mistakes and help my teammate do her best.”
In cycling, Hannah Chadwick and her guide, Skyler Espinoza, also work closely. When they ride together, Espinoza always holds Chadwick’s hand before starting,” It’s a reminder (提示) that we’re in this together,” Espinoza said.
Chadwick and Espinoza follow the same training plan. Sometimes, when the training gets hard, Chadwick thinks of her teammate. “I’m not training just for myself,” she said. “I’m training for both of us!”
People sometimes say Espinoza is making a sacrifice (牺牲) for a disabled athlete. But she doesn’t see it that way. Espinoza believes that if she hadn’t been a Paralympic guide, she would never have shone so much in sport. “I’m lucky that Hannah chose me to do this, just as I chose to do it with her,” she said.
1.How does Garcia help the blind athlete Jerusa Geber?
A.He walks in front of her to show the path.
B.He runs behind her and shouts directions.
C.He rides a bicycle next to her to guide the way.
D.He holds a rope, running beside her with the opposite foot.
2.Which of the following words best describes the guides at the Paralympics?
A.Crazy. B.Generous (willing to give and share).
C.Brave. D.Humorous.
3.What’s the best title for the text?
A.Winning Together B.How to Become a Great Guide
C.Special Help for Athletes D.The Hard Life of Paralympic Athletes
【答案】1.D 2.B 3.A
根据“When she races with her guide Garcia, he runs to her left. They each hold one end of a short rope...but with the opposite foot.”
根据“I feel more pressure (压力) at the Paralympics. I have to give 200% of myself to avoid mistakes and help my teammate do her best.”和“Espinoza believes that if she hadn’t been a Paralympic guide, she would never have shone so much in sport...”
故选A。

Being a class leader is a hard job. Take class monitors (班长) for example. 1 They also work with other class leaders to organize activities and deal with many things.
First, being a good role model can build students’ trust. “ 2 You must have something that is worth being admired (佩服) by your classmates,” said Wang Weihua, an expert.
3 “This is the key to the problem. Once they do this, they won’t need to ask a teacher for help,” Wang added.
Here is some advice to win other students’ support:
Be fair to everyone.
Even if you don’t like some of your classmates, you should still treat them like everyone else.
Be a good communicator.
Put yourself in your classmates’ shoes and make them feel that you are on their side. 4
Talk with everyone and try to be good friends with them.
Remember to show that you are capable and friendly.
5
For group activities, try to take on more responsibility. It is also important to help classmates in need.
A.Be kind and helpful.
B.Make sure you really want the job.
C.They help teachers keep the class in order.
D.The next step is to win the support of students.

F.The biggest challenge is that class leaders are not teachers.
G.If you have good grades or a special skill, they will look up to you.
【答案】1.C 2.G 3.D 4.E 5.A
1.上文“Take class monitors for example.”是对班干部的具体举例,下文“They also work with other class leaders...” 正是班长的核心职责,且与后文“organize activities and deal with many things”形成并列,符合语境。故选C。
2.根据上文“being a good role model can build students’ trust”可知,做好榜样可以建立学生的信任。
3.下文提到“Once they do this, they won’t need to ask a teacher for help,”,并且介绍了如何赢得学生的支持,所以此处是说班长需要赢得学生的支持;选项D“下一步是赢得学生们的支持。”
4.本段小标题是“Be a good communicator.”。上文“Put yourself in your classmates’ shoes and make them feel that you are on their side.”
5.本段小标题是“Remember to show that you are capable and friendly.”。下文“For group activities, try to take on more responsibility.” 故选A。

I wanted to join another team where my friend was on. But the coach asked me 4 (have) a try. He said maybe I could make some new 5 (friend). I followed his advice.
When the game started, I played well. Suddenly, I fell down. My teammates ran over to me at once and asked if I 6 (need) help. I was moved 7 (deep) by them! It was very 9 (luck) for me to have these new friends. And I realised the meaning of team. Team is not the thing for just one person or someone to do the best, 10 it needs every person on the team to try their best to do it.

根据“we worked hard together and ... the game.”
根据“It was very ... for me to have these new friends.”可知,It is + 形容词 + for sb. to do sth.
