第一节 阅读下面的材料,从每题所给的A、B、C、D四个选项中选出最佳选项。
A
One of the oldest board games in the world is called senet, and it was very popular in ancient Egypt. Can you believe that people enjoyed playing it more than 4,000 years ago? Some people used a box with 30 squares and counters made of bone, but there were other ways to play it. Some people made their own game by drawing squares in the sand or on paper and using stones as counters, so it was a game for everyone.
Did you know that people in ancient times loved playing with toys and games just like we do today? In fact, many toys and games from the past are similar to modern ones. So how did people have fun a long time ago?
The ancient Greeks and Romans played games with dice made of bone, wood, or stone. The dice had six sides with spots on them to show the numbers, just like dice today. Some very early dice had only four sides, which were in the shape of a triangle. The oldest dice ever are about 5,000 years old!
People started playing with go-go more than 2,000 years ago. This painting shows a young Greek woman with a go-go. They were often made of wood, metal, or terracotta, and they had a string connected.

A.A toy made only for rich people B.A board game that was popular in ancient Egypt.

A.Bone, wood, or stone. B.Paper and metal.

C.It did not use any strings. D.It was first played less than 1,000 years ago.
4.Why do the author and historians think that ancient games are similar to modern ones?
A.Because ancient games were only for children.
B.Because ancient people used the same materials for toys.
C.Because ancient people used modern tools for games.
D.Because ancient games gave ideas for modern games.

When I was in the third grade, I was a curious (求知欲强的) and playful kid. One day, my family met a farmer, and my parents became friends with him. He told us stories about his village, which was full of sheep and lively children. His stories made me want to see that village for myself.
So, one sunny winter day, I decided to go out without telling my parents. I didn’t think about how far it was; I just had a basic idea of where to go. I was hungry that day. After walking a long way, I finally saw a small house and decided to go inside. There, I met a middle-aged farmer with a kind face. I asked him how to reach the village, and he told me to cross the farm. Then he asked if I had eaten. I was hungry but too proud to say it. However, he quickly realized my problem and offered help.
The farmer took out a bamboo basket with steamed buns (馒头) and gave me one. Even though many people at that time found it hard to get enough food to eat, he offered me a bun. That bun was not just food; instead, it was a symbol of kindness. It filled my stomach and heart. I felt so thankful, and when I left, I kept looking back at that small house.
From that day on, I always remember that bun. No matter what happens, I carry that moment (瞬间) with me. It reminds me that kindness connects us together as humans. This simple lesson is the heart of our humanity (人性) and keeps us grounded, no matter how the world changes.

C.Kindness is a strong power that brings people closer.

Miss Martha had a little bakery (面包店) on the street corner and two thousand dollars in the bank. This bakery attracted many customers daily. Among them, one interested Martha a lot. He was a quiet, middle-aged man wearing glasses. ① His clothes were always patched (缝补的). But he looked tidy and had very good manners. He came in two or three times a week. He always bought two loaves of stale (不新鲜的) bread. Fresh bread was five cents a loaf, while stale loaves were two for five.
②
Once, while serving him, she saw a red and brown mark on his fingers. ③ She was sure he was an artist and very poor. No doubt he lived in an attic (阁楼), where he painted pictures, ate stale bread and thought of the good things to eat. To check if she was right, she took out a painting and put it behind the counter. No artist could fail to notice it. ④
Two days later, the customer came in. “Two loaves of stale bread, please.” “OK.”
“You have a fine picture here, madam.”
“Yes?” said Miss Martha, pleased with her cleverness. “Do you think it is good?”
“The palace,” he said, “is not in good drawing. The perspective (透视画法) of it is not true.”
Yes, he must be an artist. How gently his eyes shone behind his glasses! To be able to judge perspective at a quick look―and to live on stale bread! But talented people often have to go through difficulties before they succeed.
What a thing it would be for art and perspective if a genius (天才) were supported by two thousand dollars in the bank, a bakery and a sympathetic heart―But these were daydreams.
He kept on buying stale bread, never a cake, never a pie. She thought he began to look thinner and lose heart. She wanted to offer something good to him, but she was afraid of hurting him. She knew the pride of artists.
―Adapted from The Two Loaves of Bread by O. Henry

Although AI can bring people comfort, it still cannot match the full abilities of a human doctor.
From social relationships to work challenges, Chinese people are turning to DeepSeek to solve different personal problems. They describe sharing their thoughts and receiving helpful advice from the popular chatbot.AI is changing the way people find mental (心理的) health support. But can AI truly take the place of a human doctor? Around the world, 45 percent of people who needed mental treatment in 2024 did not receive it, with difficulties including cost and short of doctors, according to Daniel Lowd, a professor at the University of Oregon. He believes AI could help solve the short of mental health services. “If people can find some support and opinions by talking to a chatbot, then I think that’s wonderful,” said Lowd.
Li Yong,a doctor at the Jiangsu Province Hospital, agreed with Lowd, saying that AI meets people’s needs for mental support in some ways. However, he points out that AI cannot completely take the place of real doctors because it doesn’t have human side which is important for therapy. Human doctors develop a deeper understanding of people’s feelings and needs through communication, which allows them to offer more practical treatment plans.
The use of AI in mental health also raises worries over its reliability (可靠性). “AI chatbots will act as doctors if asked, without any of the training or responsibility of human doctors,” Richard Lachman, a professor in Canada.
Scientists believe the key to make AI therapy safe is proper government regulation (监管). Wysa, for example, is a mental health app that offers conversations with an AI chatbot. In 2022, it worked with the UK’s National Health Service, following a list of strict standards. As AI becomes more a part of our lives, understanding its effects on human mental healthy means finding a balance between what’s helpful and what’s dangerous.
13.What does Daniel Lowd think of AI mental treatment?
A.Harmful. B.Colorful. C.Doubtful. D.Useful.
14.Why does Li Yong believe AI can’t fully take the place of human doctors?
A.AI is too expensive to get. B.AI is unable to give any advice.
C.AI is unable to understand feelings. D.AI knows little about mental health.
15.What can we know about AI mental treatment according to the passage?
A.It needs government rules to make it safe. B.Wysa can give its patients strict standards.
C.It can be trained as a human doctor. D.People can use it without any worries.
16.What is the main topic of the article?
A.The increasing use of AI chatbots. B.AI’s role in mental health care.
C.The future of education with AI. D.The advantages of AI for mental support.

What’s the spirit of the horse?
The year 2026 is the Year of the Horse in the Chinese calendar (农历). In different cultures, horses stand for similar things, but with occasional (偶尔的) exceptions.
In China, the horse carries many positive meanings, such as smart and energetic, and we can see them in Chinese idioms. For example, a talented person is often called “qianlima”, a horse that covers a thousand li a day. And someone who is good at finding talent is referred to as “bole”, a person who could tell a good horse by its looks in ancient China. Other horse-related phrases in Chinese include “madaochenggong”, which means instant success and “longmajingshen”, which means full of energy.
Horses are also said to have powerful brains with “excellent memories”, according to Discovery News. Maybe that’s why a Chinese idiom goes: “An old horse knows the way.”
In other cultures, horses are also important and special. In the Middle Ages, the horse was a symbol of chivalry (骑士精神) and nobility (高贵品质) in Western societies. In fact, the word “chivalry” comes from the Old French word “cheval”, which meant horse. The idea of chivalry helped to shape the 19th-century image of the “gentleman”, which was known for good manners, courage and loyalty (忠诚) to friends.
Since the horse is honored as a symbol of energy, loyalty, strong will and intelligence, people born in the Year of the Horse are also believed to have these great qualities (品质).
41.How are horses described in Chinese culture?
42.What did the horse symbolize in the Middle Ages in Western societies?

Henry

【答案】9.D 10.B 11.A 12.D
根据“Never did he call for anything but stale bread.”可知,这句话描述的是顾客只买不新鲜面包的行为。②处前文提到“He always bought two loaves of stale bread.”与题干句子意思相符,将题干句子放在此处,逻辑连贯,符合语境,B选项正确,故选B。
11.词句猜测题。画线词“sympathetic”出现在玛莎幻想资助艺术家的情境中“a genius were supported by… a sympathetic heart”。后文“she was afraid of hurting him”(怕伤害他)及“knew the pride of artists”(深知艺术家自尊)表明,此处强调她“善解人意、体谅他人感受”的特质。故选A。

【答案】13.D 14.C 15.A 16.B
He believes AI could help solve the short of mental health services. ‘If people can find some support... that’s wonderful,’”可知,他认为AI能帮助解决心理健康服务短缺问题,且与聊天机器人交流可获得支持,态度为“有用的(Useful)”。故选D。
14.细节理解题。根据第三段“Li Yong... points out that AI cannot... because it doesn’t have human side... Human doctors develop a deeper understanding of people’s feelings”可知,AI缺乏人类特有的情感理解能力,无法像医生那样通过沟通深入理解患者感受。故选C。
15.细节理解题。根据末段“Scientists believe the key to make AI therapy safe is proper government regulation.”可知,AI 心理治疗需要政府监管以确保安全。故选A。

43.Find a topic sentence in the passage that can best introduce the main idea of the whole text.
44.What is your zodiac animal (生肖), and what qualities does it have? (Write 30 words or more)
【答案】41.In Chinese culture, horses are described as smart and energetic. 42.In the Middle Ages in Western societies, the horse symbolized chivalry and nobility. 43.In different cultures, horses stand for similar things, but with occasional exceptions. 44.My zodiac animal is the Dragon. In Chinese culture, the Dragon stands for power, strength, and good luck. People born in the Year of the Dragon are believed to be confident, ambitious, and intelligent. They are often seen as natural leaders who are not afraid to face challenges.
【导语】本文主要讲述了马在中国文化中的积极意义。

42.根据“In the Middle Ages, the horse was a symbol of chivalry (骑士精神) and nobility (高贵品质) in Western societies.”可知,在中世纪的西方社会中,马象征着骑士精神和高贵。故填In the Middle Ages in Western societies, the horse symbolized chivalry and nobility.
43.根据“In different cultures, horses stand for similar things, but with occasional (偶尔的) exceptions.”可知,在不同的文化中,马代表着相似的东西,但偶尔也有例外。故填In different cultures, horses stand for similar things, but with occasional exceptions.

【答案】
Dear Tom,
How time flies! My three-year junior high school life is coming to an end.
I have learned that keeping a positive attitude is the key to overcoming difficulties. Last term, I failed a math exam and felt very upset. However, I didn’t lose heart. Instead of giving up, I studied harder and asked my teacher for help. Not only did I improve my grades but also I gained more confidence. This experience taught me that every challenge helps us grow and become better. I believe it will help me a lot in the future.
What about your growth? Looking forward to your reply.
Yours,
Li Hua
