The Changjiang River, also known as the Yangtze River, is
one of the longest rivers in the world. It is important to
Chinese people and is called the “mother river”. It is not just a
natural wonder—it is also a symbol of the Chinese nation.
3
Nowadays, the Yangtze River National Cultural Park comes
into view. How to protect the Yangtze River culture and
improve cultural confidence is a new task for the places near
the Yangtze River.
The Yangtze River National Cultural Park, which is also an
important “National Park” project, goes across 13 provinces with
841 national-level intangible cultural heritage(非物质文化遗产)
projects, 465 historical and cultural cities, towns, and villages,
as well as 91 national-level museums. It expresses China’s
traditional, revolutionary(革命的), and socialist advanced
cultures.
With a history of over 2,200 years, Jiujiang plays an
important part in the Yangtze River National Cultural Park. To
protect the Yangtze River culture, Jiujiang creates the “Most
Beautiful Yangtze River Bank”. Jiujiang makes it possible that
the park not only protects cultural heritage but also further
improves the quality of people’s lives there. The park turns
Jiujiang into a place where visitors can learn more about
historical stories and enjoy natural beauty. It also helps local
communities by creating jobs in tourism.
The Yangtze River National Cultural Park project carries
great meaning for the Chinese nation. The project is based on
its rich cultural resources(资源). The Yangtze River National
Cultural Park project holds value in many fields such as water

programs for students. It draws a new painting and shows

Peru (秘鲁) is the third largest country in South
America, after Brazil and Argentina(阿根廷).
It is a country with natural beauty, including mountains,
beaches, rainforests and more. The Andes Mountains run through
Peru from north to south. These tall mountains can be seen
from beaches 80 kilometers away. The highest peak, Mount
Huascarán, is 6,768 meters high. Because of its many different
ecosystems(生态系统), Peru is home to many kinds of plants
and animals. The Amazon rainforest covers nearly half of Peru.
In this large forest, a 1-km 2 area can have more than 6,000
kinds of plants. To protect these plants, Peru has created special
forest areas called reserves(保护区). Large numbers of small
fish live off the coast of Peru, and they in turn support
populations of bigger fish and seabirds. There are many special
kinds of plants and animals in the Andes Mountains. One
amazing plant, the puya raimondii, takes 100 years to flower.
The people of Peru are from many different cultures,
including Indians, Europeans, Africans and Asians. Most people
used to live in the countryside. But now, more than 70 percent
live in cities.
Peru has a long and rich history. Over 500 years ago, it
was home to the powerful Inca Empire (印加帝国) in South
America. The Incas built amazing places like Machu Picchu in
the Andes. In the 1500s, the Spanish arrived and took over.
For about 300 years, Peru was under Spanish control. It became
an independent country in 1821.
Today, Peru continues to welcome visitors from around the
world, who come to explore its natural wonders. It is truly a
country full of surprises and beauty.
