文体二 记叙文 [2025·新高考全国卷ⅠB篇] In my ninth-grade writing class last year, I met a cowboy who saved his town, a strict father who demanded his son earn straight A's, and a modern-day Juliet who died of heartbreak after her parents rejected the love of her young life. More than once, I found myself wondering just how my students, who'd created these people, knew their subjects so well. But things were different for their first essay, which was about the question:“Why is writing important?” Most of the essays filled less than one page, and few contained a sentence that could be interpreted as a thesis (论点) statement. I was shocked. Then I realized that the problem was the question itself. They could have written pages on the necessity of computers, but writing, in and of itself, simply didn't strike them as important. This would have to change. As a new unit started, I asked everyone to write a persuasive piece on a health-related topic of their choice. This time they found the exercise much more interesting. For the next two assignments,a personal-narrative unit followed by a creative-writing workshop, I only required that the piece meet the specifications of its genre (体裁) and that it contain a thesis. The results were staggering. The students took on diverse topics and turned in stories,10 to 20 pages each, with characters that broadened my view and touched my heart. I walked into class believing that writing is important as a means of communication. However,my students demonstrated something more important to me. When the final bell rang in June,I walked away with a yearbook full of messages about writing's most powerful significance—the ability to connect people,to put us in another's skin, to teach us what it means to be human. 24.Who are the people mentioned at the beginning of paragraph 1? A.Ninth graders. B.Students' parents. C.Modern writers. D.Fictional characters. 25.Why did the students perform poorly in writing their first essay? A.They were not given enough time. B.They had a very limited vocabulary. C.They misunderstood the question. D.They had little interest in the topic. 26.What does the underlined word “staggering” in paragraph 3 mean? A.Mixed. B.Amazing. C.Similar. D.Disturbing. 27.What does the author's experience show? A.Teaching is learning. B.Still waters run deep. C.Knowledge is power. D.Practice makes perfect. 根据第三段画线词下文“The students took on diverse topics...touched my heart.” A (2025·石家庄质量检测)Ghanaian photojournalist Paul Ninson was surprised. When he came to New York to study photography five years ago, he found a large collection of images of life in Africa in the city's libraries and museums. Here he was thousands of miles from Ghana, surrounded by more visual history of Africa than he had ever seen back home. That inspired him to create a library of photobooks in Ghana to bring the African story home, allowing people to learn about their history and give them tools to tell new stories of the continent. It has been realized with the creation of the Dikan Center in Accra, Ghana's capital. Dikan means “take the lead” in the Akan language. This isn't the only time Ninson set his sights on a seemingly impossible dream. Photography isn't exactly valued as a career path in Ghana. Ninson says, “If you tell your parents you're going to be a photographer, it was like, ‘What? Go be a lawyer.’” But Ninson felt photography was his calling. He was deeply influenced by the rich family history of storytelling passed down through his grandparents and later, attracted by a friend's images, developed a love of photography. It felt natural to combine the two, so he dove in. With great determination, he managed to collect more than 30,000 volumes. In December 2022, the Dikan Center opened. Ghanaian Daniella Afful was particularly moved by Dikan's exhibition, and said it gave her a new viewpoint on her country's past and present. She said, “Dikan has made art and photography more significant. It has given us the hope that we may soon have a music library in Ghana. We could have a film library in Ghana—anything just to preserve our history and make history.” 1.What surprised Paul Ninson in New York? One day he was home building with them when it struck him that many kids couldn't play with building blocks because of its cost. “Building blocks bring me a lot of joy, and I want to spread that joy to other kids,” he said. Given that some unwanted building block bricks may end up in landfills, he decided to do something to address the problem. Charlie put up posters around his neighborhood, asking people to donate their unwanted building block bricks. Because most of the donations were loose bricks and not in complete sets, he used them to develop new sets with fun themes. Charlie delivered the sets to a local Boys and Girls Club. The kids were thrilled to receive them. A local newspaper ran a story about what he was doing.“Word spread quickly, and soon I had more donated bricks,” he recalls. Charlie recruited (招募) some volunteers, and through social media, the project expanded across the Bay Area. Then people in other states began reaching out to Charlie, asking him how they could get involved. Pass the Bricks, a nonprofit organization, was born. Mailing bricks to other states can be pricey, so Charlie developed a network of helpers. They do what Charlie does but in their own communities. Recipients (接受者) have included children receiving cancer treatment in San Francisco, a boy who was shot while playing outside his house in Alabama and schoolkids in Micronesia. Pass the Bricks has donated more than 13,000 sets to kids in need and collected nearly 7,000 pounds of used building block bricks. With every building block brick finding a new home, a future where every child has the chance to play, learn, and grow through the magic of the building block is in sight. 5.What do we know about Charlie from paragraph 1?
