W: Hi, this is Mary, the manager at Henry’s Drill. I noticed your application for a waiter position. Unfortunately, we’ve already filled all server positions. However, we do have an opening for a host. You’ll greet and guide guests to their tables, ensuring they have a pleasant start to their meal. Are you open to that?
M: Thanks for calling. I was mainly looking for something serving tables. I used to bring food and drinks to the customers.
W: I understand. But being a host can be a great experience, too. It’s a fantastic way to develop your communication skills and get a full picture of how the restaurant operates. You’ll have a similar salary, and it’s a bit more relaxed.
M: That sounds interesting. But I’m not sure about working alone at the front of the restaurant. I’m a bit nervous about handling everything by myself, especially during busy hours.
W: You won’t be alone. There’s always at least one more host on a shift with you, so you’ll have support and it won’t feel difficult.
M: I’m interested in the host position, then.
W: Excellent! We’ll just need to schedule one more appointment to chat with the boss and the shift manager. Then, you’ll be able to start your training.
M: Sure, that sounds good. Thank you for considering me for the position.

To improve road conditions, broken streets will be repaired and traffic light systems will be updated. Car sharing programs will be introduced to reduce the number of vehicles on the road. Instead of owning a car, people can rent one when needed. Parking spaces will also be better organized to reduce traffic jams in busy areas and make parking more convenient. It’s common to see a barista (咖啡师) create coffee art, but it’s a whole different ballgame doing the same thing with tea. Han Zheming has managed to perfect the skill, creating tea art in cups, or dian cha in Chinese, which used to be a ritual (仪式) during the Song Dynasty.
Over the past six years, he has used tea and spoons to create nearly 200 patterns based on ancient paintings. “It’s like adding bells and whistles to tea and giving people a stronger sense of occasion, so drinking tea is more fun,” Han says. It’s also his intention to bring the old ritual back to modern life and have more people appreciate its charm.
Chinese tea culture started to enjoy popularity during the Tang Dynasty and flourished (繁荣) throughout the Song Dynasty, when tea had become a necessity for almost everyone, from nobles and scholars to common people, just like other necessary items, such as rice, oil and salt.
In the Song Dynasty, the popular way of having tea was through dian cha. The process begins with hot water being poured over fine powdered tea, creating a paste. Then more hot water is slowly added as the tea is constantly whisked (搅动) by hand with a bamboo stick. This action of pouring hot water is called dian, hence the name dian cha, which was listed as an intangible cultural heritage of Runzhou District, Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province.
Han has been fascinated by the culture and art of the Song Dynasty. “My mother loves traditional culture and I have been leaning toward it under her influence,” Han says. After graduating in 2006, he took great delight in drinking tea gradually. This led him to learn about traditional tea culture and buy ceramic tea sets, especially those made in the style of the Song Dynasty. While studying the history and trying to figure out the reasons behind the use of tea sets, he came across the art of dian cha. “I was amazed by this wonderful way of drinking tea,” Han says.
24. How does the writer introduce the topic of dian cha in the first paragraph?
A. By raising a question. B. By defining a concept.
C. By making a comparison. D. By giving examples.
25. Why did Han Zheming commit himself to dian cha?
A. To show off his skill in making tea. B. To revive the old ritual in modern life.
C. To boost tea sales and increase his income. D. To help his mother promote traditional culture.
26. What does paragraph 4 mainly talk about?
A. The specific process of making dian cha.
B. Han Zheming’s experience of growing tea.
C. The differences between dian cha and other tea ceremonies.
D. Application procedures for intangible cultural heritage registration.
27. Which of the following is the best title for the text?
A. A History of Chinese Tea Sets B. A Tea Art Reborn from History
C. The Interesting Procedures for Making Tea D. The Different Tea Culture Through Dynasties
C 25. B 26. A 27. B
根据第一段“It’s common to see a barista create coffee art, but it’s a whole different ballgame doing the same thing with tea.(看到咖啡师创作咖啡艺术是很常见的,但用茶做同样的事情则完全是另一回事。)”
根据第二段“It’s also his intention to bring the old ritual back to modern life and have more people appreciate its charm.(他还打算把这个古老的仪式带回现代生活,让更多人欣赏它的魅力。)”
根据第四段“The process begins with hot water being poured over fine powdered tea, creating a paste.(这个过程始于将热水倒在精细的茶粉上,调成糊状。)”以及“Then more hot water is slowly added as the tea is constantly whisked by hand with a bamboo stick.(然后慢慢加入更多热水,同时用竹棍不断用手搅动茶水。)” 故选A。
C
There’s nothing like a boiling hot summer with an energetic small child to make you completely aware of the need for outdoor space. And, if you are able-bodied, there’s nothing like having a child to make you look at public spaces differently. Steps instead of ramps (斜坡). A lack of benches (长凳) for giving a baby their snack. No access to changing tables. No fences or gates dividing walking-only space from a busy road. Before your eyes, the urban environment becomes transformed and often unwelcoming.
It’s no wonder, then, that the commercialized “public” spaces that have become common across cities start to feel appealing. Before I had a child, I disliked the new development at Coal Drops Yard in London’s King’s Cross. Walking around it when it reopened, I felt it was cold. Now it feels safe and it is full of children shouting with joy as they run in and out of the fountains. It’s a child-friendly space that isn’t child-dominated: from the food market where adults dine to the outdoor cinema where adults watch movies, it feels happily shared.
But in the UK, actual public, child-friendly spaces, as opposed to commercialized public spaces, are rare. We should look to other countries, China, for example. We might never have the fine weather or culture that makes us a society gathered around a public square, but those countries’ designs for public spaces and how they integrate children’s play with adult socialising, such as creating those lovely shaded playgrounds lined with cafe tables, are inspiring.
To an extent, they exist that way because there’s a recognition that during hot summer days, the evenings become a time for everyone, with spaces used for adult dining and children’s play. That is increasingly becoming the case here, too. It feels as though it’s becoming more common to see children in the playground until quite late in the evening. Surely there has to be a middle ground, a public space that meets the needs of both adults and children during the light evenings that feels safe and inclusive.
28. What problem does the author highlight about public places?
A. The unfriendliness to families with kids. B. The weakness in space management.
C. The risk of getting new parents injured. D. The disregard for children’s health.
29. How does the author find Coal Drops Yard now?
A. Noisy. B. Adult-centered. C. Welcoming. D. Profit-driven.
30. Why does the author mention other countries in paragraph 3?
A. To praise their culture. B. To criticize British society.
C. To analyze private spaces. D. To offer successful models.
31. What does the author advocate in the end?
A. Building evening playgrounds. B. Adding shaded areas to parks.
C. Creating public spaces for all ages. D. Using public places more often.
A 29. C 30. D 31. C
A lack of benches (长凳) for giving a baby their snack. No access to changing tables. No fences or gates dividing walking-only space from a busy road. Before your eyes, the urban environment becomes transformed and often unwelcoming.(是台阶而非斜坡,缺少给宝宝吃零食的长凳,没有可供换尿布的桌子,没有围栏将步行区与繁忙道路隔开。在你眼中,城市环境变得不再友好)”可知,作者强调的公共空间问题是对有孩子的家庭不友好。故选A项。
根据第二段中的“Now it feels safe and it is full of children shouting with joy as they run in and out of the fountains. It’s a child-friendly space that isn’t child-dominated: from the food market where adults dine to the outdoor cinema where adults watch movies, it feels happily shared.(现在它让人感觉很安全,到处都是孩子们欢乐的叫喊声,他们在喷泉里跑进跑出。这是一个对儿童友好但又不被儿童主导的空间:从成年人用餐的食品市场到成年人看电影的户外影院,这里给人一种愉快共享的感觉)”可知,作者现在觉得Coal Drops Yard是令人感到受欢迎的。故选C项。
30. 推理判断题。根据第三段中的“We should look to other countries, China, for example. We might never have the fine weather or culture that makes us a society gathered around a public square, but those countries’ designs for public spaces and how they integrate children’s play with adult socialising, such as creating those lovely shaded playgrounds lined with cafe tables, are inspiring.(我们应当借鉴其他国家的经验,比如中国。我们或许永远不会拥有那样的宜人气候与文化氛围,难以形成人们聚集在公共广场上的社会生活形态,但这些国家在公共空间设计方面的理念,以及它们如何将儿童游乐与成人社交活动相融合的方式 —— 例如打造那些可爱的、旁设咖啡桌的林荫游乐场 —— 都令人深受启发)”可推断,作者在第三段提及其他国家,是为了提供成功的公共空间设计范例。故选D项。
31. 推理判断题。根据最后一段中的“Surely there has to be a middle ground, a public space that meets the needs of both adults and children during the light evenings that feels safe and inclusive.(当然,一定有一个中间地带,一个在天色尚亮的傍晚能满足成人和儿童需求、感觉安全且包容的公共空间)”可知,作者最终倡导打造适合各年龄段人群的公共空间。故选C项。
D(原创题)
OpenClaw: The AI Assistant Taking Risks
In early 2026, OpenClaw became a global phenomenon. Created by Austrian developer Peter Steinberger, this AI assistant started as a weekend project in November 2025 but quickly became the fastest-growing open-source project ever, surpassing 250,000 GitHub stars within months.
Unlike cloud-based AI assistants such as ChatGPT, OpenClaw runs entirely on the user’s own computer. This means conversations and personal data never leave the user’s hardware. Users can interact with OpenClaw through familiar messaging platforms including WhatsApp and Telegram.
What truly sets OpenClaw apart is its ability to take action rather than just generate text. While traditional chatbots only make suggestions, OpenClaw can read and write files, send emails, manage calendars, and browse the web. It maintains persistent memory, learning user preferences over time. Many users describe it less as a chatbot and more as a digital employee that works 24/7.
However, OpenClaw’s powerful capabilities have created serious security concerns. In February 2026, researchers discovered over 40,000 OpenClaw instances exposed on the public internet. One critical flaw, dubbed “ClawJacked,” allowed malicious websites to silently hijack an OpenClaw instance—no clicks required. Additionally, about one in four community-built “skills” contained vulnerabilities, with some designed to steal passwords.
These risks prompted official government warnings. On March 8 and 10, 2026, Chinese agencies issued formal alerts—the first major government warnings specifically targeting an AI agent platform. Universities including Peking University also issued guidance to help users secure their installations.
Despite concerns, the OpenClaw community responded actively, patching over 40 vulnerabilities in February alone. In China, adoption has been intense. Major cloud providers like Tencent and Alibaba rushed to offer one-click deployment. On March 6, nearly 1,000 people lined up outside Tencent’s Shenzhen headquarters for free installation. The Shenzhen government announced subsidies of up to 2 million yuan for OpenClaw-based projects.
The OpenClaw phenomenon represents a shift from chatbots that merely converse to autonomous agents that act on our behalf. As one observer noted, “The agents are here. They’re still rough. But they’re learning fast.” The question remains whether we are ready for them.
32. What is the main difference between OpenClaw and ChatGPT?
A. It requires a monthly subscription fee. B. It runs locally and can take actions.
C. It can only be used through web browsers. D. It was created by a large tech company.
33. Why did Chinese government issue warnings about OpenClaw?
A. Because it was stealing users’ personal data.
B. Because it was too difficult for users to install.
C. Because hackers could exploit security holes.
D. Because it competed with domestic AI products.
34. What does the author mean by calling OpenClaw a “digital employee”?
A. Users must pay money to use its services. B. It only works during normal business hours.
C. It actively performs tasks for users. D. It requires training before being useful.
35. Which statement best describes the author’s attitude toward OpenClaw?
A. Enthusiastic support for a major breakthrough. B. Strong opposition to a dangerous software.
C. Balanced view of benefits and risks. D. Skepticism about its practical value.
B 33. C 34. C 35. C
根据第二段“Unlike cloud-based AI assistants such as ChatGPT, OpenClaw runs entirely on the user’s own computer.”(与ChatGPT等基于云的AI助手不同,OpenClaw完全在用户自己的电脑上运行)以及第三段“What truly sets OpenClaw apart is its ability to take action rather than just generate text.”(真正让OpenClaw与众不同的是它能够采取行动,而不仅仅是生成文本)可知,OpenClaw与ChatGPT的主要区别在于它在本地运行并且能够执行操作。
根据第三段“While traditional chatbots only make suggestions, OpenClaw can read and write files, send emails, manage calendars, and browse the web. It maintains persistent memory... Many users describe it less as a chatbot and more as a digital employee that works 24/7.”(传统聊天机器人只能提建议,而OpenClaw可以读写文件、发送邮件、管理日历、浏览网页……
“Different strokes for different folks” applies as much to dining as to anything else. Food preferences are not just about flavors. They are also about where the ingredients come from, how they are processed, and what cooking methods are used. 36 Left unchecked, incomplete or misleading information could spark disputes, damage trust and even raise food safety concerns.
The controversy over “pre-made” dishes in China shows just how divisive this issue has become. 37 Yet whichever side people are on, one thing is clear: they prefer to be kept “well-informed”.
However, there is a sharp perception gap between what consumers seek and what restaurant operators offer. In practice, restaurateurs tend not to view their offerings as pre-made. 38
How, then, should pre-made dishes be regulated? The answer depends on whether we treat them as a product or a process. If they are treated as products, legislators (立法委员) could adopt a “menu- style” approach while drafting regulations, and setting specific rules for each type of pre-made dish. 39 Specifically, they might ask: Were the dishes made from scratch? Or were they prepared industrially? This distinction isn’t about safety alone, but reflects values like sustainability, tradition, taste, and price sensitivity. Nevertheless, both approaches must follow a common principle: labels must not be misleading.
But bridging the gap between public perception and professional definition requires more than just rules. 40 Done right, regulations can ensure consumer choice and trust, industrial innovation and cultural confidence all grow together.

故填a。

分析句子结构,“bridging the digital divide between countries”(弥合各国之间的数字鸿沟)和“respecting diverse traditions and histories”(尊重不同的传统和历史)是并列的两个动名词短语,共同作为介词including的宾语。 故填 and / while。
故填which。
故填to ensure。

Amy had been living with Mr and Mrs Acharya for over six months. They were a retired couple who had taken her in as a paying guest while she began her first year of engineering college in a new city. Despite being away from her own family for the first time ever, she felt at home with the Acharyas ’ warmth and kindness.
Mr Acharya, a retired engineer, had greatly supported Amy’s studies. He often reviewed her notes, offered advice and patiently explained difficult topics to her. His friendly nature and guidance made her educational journey smoother and more enjoyable.
However, today was different. It was Amy’s birthday, yet being so far away from her family made her feel very low. The care the Acharyas offered her was comforting, but she felt an emptiness only her beloved family members could fill on this special day. She sat quietly in the living room, where Mr Acharya was reading a book. And Mrs Acharya was busy in the kitchen. Amy didn’t mention that it was her birthday, for she didn’t want to trouble them. Instead, she just sighed softly, looking at the family photos on her phone.
Mrs Acharya looked at her knowingly from the kitchen but said nothing. She and her husband had actually marked this special date in their calendar months ago, when they first saw it on Amy’s college admission papers. They had been quietly planning a surprise for days.
During dinner, the elderly couple chatted about everyday matters as usual. The meal was delicious, with some of Amy’s favorite dishes which Mrs Acharya had specially prepared. Still, Amy couldn’t help but feel sad. She tried to focus on the conversation and enjoy the food, but her thoughts kept returning to her family. She kept checking her silent phone, wondering why her parents hadn’t called or sent messages to wish her a happy birthday. She thought about how, every year on her birthday, her mother cooked her favourite meal and her father took her on a lovely drive and treated her to her favourite strawberry ice cream.
After dinner, the Acharyas kindly invited Amy to the backyard. ______________________________________

After dinner, the Acharyas kindly invited Amy to the backyard. Curious, Amy followed the couple. To her amazement, the garden was softly lit with fairy lights, and a small table was set with a beautiful cake and colorful balloons. “Happy birthday, Amy!” the couple cheered together, smiling warmly. “We know it can be really hard to be away from your family on special days, and we hope that this surprise can make you feel better,” added Mrs Acharya. Greatly touched, Amy hugged the couple tightly in tears and expressed her sincere thankfulness. At that heartfelt moment, Amy realized she had found a second home.
After the celebration, the Acharyas drove Amy to a nearby ice cream shop. There, they treated Amy to her favourite strawberry ice cream. “Your father mentioned your birthday tradition,” they explained. Amy was deeply moved and felt more relaxed. As she sat down to enjoy the treat, Mrs Acharya handed her a phone. Unexpectedly, her family appeared on a video call, smiling and waving. Both families chatted warmly, sharing stories and laughter. Amy’s parents thanked the Acharyas for their kindness and consideration. That wonderful day made Amy understand that home isn’t just a place — it is where love and care follow you all around.

W: Hello, sir. Welcome to Eurasia Associates. Do you have an appointment?
M: I don’t, sorry. I’m looking for Ms. Greenwell. Last month, she mentioned I should visit her office to negotiate the prices of our business deal.
W: I see. I have her schedule in front of me. But I’m afraid there aren’t any appointments listed, nor any mention of visitors coming in this afternoon.
M: Sure. But is it possible to drop into her office after lunch?
W: She’s in the conference room giving a presentation to investors until 3:00 pm. May I take a message for her?
M: Please mention that Tom from AC International stopped by. Here’s my business card with my mobile number. I’m free for a chat on the phone any time today. And I can come back to the office anytime next week.
W: Will do, sir. Thanks for coming by. I’ll deliver this message for you.

A. These details should be disclosed to consumers.
B. It affects price, freshness, and even its cultural meaning.
C. China’s rising pre-made dish sales stem from rapid industrialization.
D. Some diners welcome convenience, while others prioritize freshness.
E. It calls for sustained communication on what counts as pre-made food.
F. But consumers often do, because they focus on sourcing and preparation.
G. If the focus is on the process, consumers would ask how their dishes were made.

I moved to Stockholm in October. By December, the Scandinavian winter had fully set in — days were short, and everything felt gray and 41 . Coming from a lively and crowded Mediterranean city, I found the silence and the 42 nature of people overwhelming. I felt lonely, a feeling that 43 with the growing darkness.
One afternoon, as I was walking home, the first snow began. It wasn’t the 44 storm I had feared, but a gentle, almost shy. Astonishingly, the city transformed around me. The grayness was 45 under a soft, white blanket. But more remarkable 46 was in the people.
On the street, a woman, who usually walked with her head down, 47 , made eye contact and gave me a small smile. Many children burst out of a building, their joyful shouts breaking the 48 as they tried to catch snowflakes (雪花) on their tongues.
