This city has warm weather all year round. People call it “Spring City”. Can you guess its name?  2. 引导学生猜出 Kunming 后，板书课题 Unit 3 The Spring City ，过渡： Today we’ll learn why Kunming is called the Spring City.  设计意图:通过猜谜游戏和直观图片，激发学生好奇心，快速切入主题，激活学生对“春城”的已有认知。 Step 2: Pre-reading Activity 1: Vocabulary Preview 1. 结合图片和例句讲解核心词汇：  neither…nor… ：既不…也不… →  The weather here is neither too hot nor too cold.   pleasant ：宜人的 →  The temperature remains pleasant all year.   must-see ：必看的 →  The Stone Forest is a must-see spot.  2. 带领学生跟读词汇，邀请学生用词汇造简单句，教师纠正发音并给予鼓励。 Activity 2: Prediction 1. 展示文本标题和图片，引导学生预测：  What will the passage talk about?  预设答案： weather of Kunming ,  scenic spots ,  why it’s called Spring City  设计意图:扫除阅读词汇障碍，培养读前预测能力，为后续文本阅读做好铺垫。 Step 3: While-reading Activity 1: Fast Reading & Answer Questions 1. 学生快速默读文本，完成教材第2题的两个问题，教师巡视指导。 - A: What do the rocks look like in the Stone Forest? → They look like tall stone trees. - B: Why is Kunming called the Spring City? → Because the weather there is neither too hot nor too cold, and it feels like spring nearly all year round. 2. 全班核对答案，教师引导学生在文本中定位关键句，强化寻读策略。 Activity 2: Careful Reading & Highlight Clauses 1. 学生再次精读文本，用荧光笔标出 when/while/because 引导的状语从句，如：  When we talk about spring…   While the sun is shining…   Because the weather is spring-like…  2. 教师讲解： when/while 表时间， because 表原因，引导学生总结状语从句的结构：引导词 + 完整句子。 设计意图:通过快读和精读分层任务，逐步提升学生阅读能力；聚焦语法点，让学生在语境中感知状语从句的用法。 Step 4: Post-reading & Practice Activity 1: Grammar Practice 1. 学生完成教材第3题的选词填空，教师核对答案： A: because B: while C: when D: because 2. 重点辨析 when/while ： while 后常接进行时态，强调动作正在进行； when 可接一般/进行时态。 Activity 2: Conversation Completion 1. 学生完成教材第4题的对话填空，答案： Rita: B (We celebrate Holi when spring comes.)
