One morning when I woke up,a shocking realization struck me:I had probably lived more years than I had left.It wasn't about death, exactly—it was about time. All those things I'd told myself I'd do someday suddenly seemed ridiculous.Someday was NOW.
That's how I found myself standing in front of a piano later that day.I hadn't touched one in decades. Not since I was twelve, when I quit after my piano teacher sighed and said,“Adam, you play like a typewriter.”
But my daughter,Olivia, had been taking lessons for years.Watching her practice—her small hands moving effortlessly through Chopin's Nocturnes (《夜曲》)—I felt a stupid, stubborn jealousy. Not of her talent, but of her freedom. She played because she loved it.I had stopped because I was afraid of failing.
So,in secret,I signed up for adult beginner classes at a community center. The teacher,a kind Russian woman named Irina, would tap my wrist with a pencil when I rushed.“Music is not a race,”she'd say.“You must make friends with each note.”But to me,it was a race.Every wrong note made me think I was too old to learn new things.
For months,I practiced in the basement after everyone was asleep. My goal was simple:to play Nocturne in E-flat Major (《降E大调夜曲》) at my fiftieth birthday dinner without embarrassing myself.Soon, the night arrived.Family and friends crowded our apartment.Wine flowed, laughter rose, and then, all eyes turned to me as I sat at the piano. My hands shook. The first notes sounded rough and shaky.Halfway through,my fingers got mixed up,and I stopped dead.Silence fell.I could almost hear the collective thought:Poor Adam, having his midlife crisis at the piano.
注意:1.续写词数应为150个左右;
2.请按如下格式作答。
Then,from the corner,Olivia called out,“Start again,Dad.”__________

阅读下面材料,根据其内容和所给段落开头语续写两段,使之构成一篇完整的短文。
Two pairs of brown eyes stared eagerly up at me.It was October 2023 and I'd taken my dogs Candy and Tara for a run in woodland near Darwen,Lancashire.I kept an eye on both of them as they played and, when it was time to go,I blew the dog whistle.Candy came bounding up straight away, but Tara was nowhere to be seen.
I called her name, blew the whistle again and kept searching. But she'd completely vanished. There was a scattering of holes in the ground and, knowing that Tara loved rabbit holes,I thought she'd gone down one chasing a bunny!
I called my husband Alistair, who rushed to help me search. Then I called the fire service in case Tara was trapped in one of the holes.I messaged friends too, asking them to post on social media.“These are badger setts (獾穴),”a fireman explained.“They're protected.I'm afraid we're not allowed to dig here.”
So instead,we kept searching nearby. When it got to midnight, however,we headed home and my heart sank.We lived five miles away,so I was convinced there was no way Tara could make her way back.
The next day,we returned to where Tara had disappeared. We left behind a couple of Alistair's sweatshirts so Tara would recognise our scent. As the days went by,I put my work as a dog groomer on hold to search for Tara.Reports of sightings came to nothing, and Alistair and I did daily shifts outside the badger setts.
Tara loved exploring.“I just couldn't give up,”I told myself. Then,on 15 November,23 days after Tara went missing,Candy and I were walking towards the badger setts when she began sniffing (嗅) the ground and spinning around.

Ⅰ.【参考范文】
Dear Mr Li,
I'm Li Hua,a customer who recently dined at your esteemed restaurant.I'm writing to express my deep disappointment with the dining experience.
Contrary to the glowing online reviews, the dishes I ordered fell far short of expectations. The flavors were bland, and the presentation lacked the finesse promised.I sincerely hope your restaurant can take this feedback seriously and make improvements to maintain its reputation.
I look forward to a better dining experience in the future.
Yours,
Li Hua

Then, from the corner,Olivia called out,“Start again,Dad.”Her voice cut through the silence like a clear note, steady and sure.Something in her expression loosened the knot in my chest.Taking a breath,I positioned my stiff fingers once more on the keys. This time,I didn't rush.I just focused on the music—each note, each pause, each breath between the phrases.Though my hands still stumbled, the melody emerged, fragile but recognizable.I knew the performance was far from perfect, and I braced myself for the inevitable—the polite coughs or the awkward chuckles that would surely follow such a clumsy attempt.
But this time,no one laughed. They just ... listened. My brother, who had teased me mercilessly about everything since we were children, stood quietly by the window. My wife watched with a soft expression I couldn't quite read. When the final chord faded, there was a moment of silence. Then came the applause.Olivia pushed through the crowd and wrapped her arms around me,“That was brave,”she whispered. And somehow,in that moment, all those years of hesitation, the fear of failure, and the weight of“someday”melted into something lighter.Tonight,I had not only befriended each note, but had also made peace with the parts of myself.I was just here.Alive.And that was enough.

I felt a ray of hope and called out,“Tara?”Dry leaves crunched under my feet.Candy was digging at a pile of sticks when I heard a soft whine from the badger hole.My heart jumped—a muddy paw stuck out!“Tara!”I yelled.I pulled away sticks and leaves and found Tara shaking, with her dirty golden fur stuck together. She licked my hand weakly.Immediately Alistair ran over with a blanket.“Silly girl,”he said softly, and then wrapped her cold body in the blanket. Her tail moved a little against my arm.
I drove straight to our vet(兽医),who said Tara was so weak.Tara's eyes looked tired in the vet's bright lights. Her paws were dry and painful.“She needs water,”the vet said, putting a needle in her leg.I stroked her messy fur and felt her heart beating fast, like a small bird.Tara made a rough sound and pushed her nose into my hands.I cried—I'd waited 23 days! The vet said in a comforting voice,“She'll be okay, but needs rest.”Just then Candy slid in and lay down next to Tara, wagging her tail in the air.
