New York is a very large city with about 8 million people. How do so many
people move to work or school? In New York you can travel by subway, bus,
taxi and car.
The subway runs on the railroad lines under the city. Travelling by subway
is the fastest way to get around the city. The second way to travel around the

heavy.
4
You can also travel around the city by taxi. This is very expensive, but the
taxi will take you to the every place you want. If traffic is heavy, the taxi will
be slow.
During the mornings and afternoons, there is the “rush hour”. This is the
time when the traffic is very heavy with people going to and from work. The last
way to get around New York is using your own private car. It is inconvenient

Hello, everyone! My project is about the Silk Road.
The Silk Road went from China to Eastern Europe. The Silk Road got its
name in the 19th century because businessmen traded(交易)silk along it. The
Chinese learned to make silk thousands of years ago. Chinese silk was soft and
of high quality (质量). Many people all over Asia and Europe loved it very
much. Besides silk, there were many other products(产品)that travelled along
the Silk Road, such as tea, salt, sugar, porcelain(陶瓷)and so on.
The Silk Road is very important to both China and Europe. It is more than
an ancient international trade route(路线). It not only helps to develop trade
among different countries, but also helps ideas, cultures and inventions to spread
(传播)across the world.
