In the past, Chinese children played many traditional games like rope skipping (跳绳), shuttlecock (毽子) kicking, and iron hoop rolling. These games were not only fun but also helped kids exercise and make friends. However, today these games are slowly disappearing (消失) from children’s lives. Many people worry that this important part of culture may be lost.
One main reason is technology. With smartphones and computers everywhere, many children now like playing digital games indoors more than doing outdoor activities. A survey shows that three quarters of the Chinese children spend over 2 hours daily on electronic devices (电子设备) such as computers and smartphones. Traditional games seem “old-fashioned” to them.
Another reason is that there is not enough space. In modern cities, playgrounds are becoming fewer because buildings take up more areas. ★ Also, busy parents don’t have enough time to teach these games to their children. Some schools try to keep the tradition alive by including these games in PE classes, but it’s not enough.
The disappearance (消失) of these games means more than just losing fun activities. They were an important part of Chinese culture. Without them, children miss chances to develop social skills and learn about their cultural traditions.
29.What percentage of Chinese children spend over 2 hours daily on electronic devices?
A.25%. B.34%. C.75%. D.90%.
30.Which of the following can be put in “ ★ ”?

B.Children don’t know where to play traditional games.
C.Children are too lazy to play traditional games.
D.This makes traditional games less interesting.

A.Awful. B.Magical. C.Hopeful. D.Angry.
32.What is the best title for the passage?
A.The History of Traditional Chinese Games
B.Traditional Games: Disappearing Treasures of Chinese Culture
C.How to Play Popular Traditional Chinese Games
D.Digital Games: Better than Traditional Games

Saihanba is one of China’s largest forests. It lies in the north of Hebei Province. Saihanba means “beautiful and high mountains”.
Around the 10th century, the rulers of the Liao Dynasty made it a royal (皇家的) hunting place because it was home to beautiful forests, green grasslands, clear lakes and different kinds of wild animals. Emperor Kangxi of the Qing Dynasty liked Saihanba so much that he made hunting there a royal festival. The royal festival finally stopped in the 19th century for lack of money and the place had to be open to the public. After that, the cutting down of trees and wildfires changed green Saihanba into grey deserts. By the 1950s, the beauty of Saihanba had completely disappeared (消失) with only one tree left. The tree is now famous as the “Tree of Honour”.
On seeing the tree, Chinese scientists made up their minds and dreamed of restoring Saihanba. In February 1962, the plans were made and more than 120 foresters joined 242 local people in Saihanba to begin rebuilding it. Over the next 55 years, those first treeplanters fought against many difficulties to plant trees. After they died, their children and relatives followed them and went on with their hard work of planting trees.
Today, the scientists’ dream has come true and there is beautiful grassland and flowers again around the “Tree of Honour”. Chinese people successfully changed Saihanba in the past halfcentury.

There are more than 30 lakes named “West Lake” in China. But the West Lake in Hangzhou is the most famous of them all. It lies in Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang Province on the southeastern coast. And the city is well known as a paradise in China.

考查动词时态辨析。left离开,过去式;have left已经离开,现在完成时;are away from离开/不在,现在时;have been away from已经离开/不在……

31.How does the writer feel about the disappearance of traditional Chinese games?

C.How to Play Popular Traditional Chinese Games
D.Digital Games: Better than Traditional Games

30.推理判断题。根据“Another reason is that there is not enough space. In modern cities, playgrounds are becoming fewer because buildings take up more areas.”可知,另一个原因是没有足够的空间,在现代城市,由于建筑占用了更多的区域,操场正变得越来越少,这就导致孩子们不知道在哪里玩传统游戏。故选B。
31.推理判断题。根据“Many people worry that this important part of culture may be lost.”和“The disappearance of these games means more than just losing fun activities...children miss chances to develop social skills and learn about their cultural traditions.”可知,作者认为传统游戏的消失是糟糕的,因为它们是中国文化的重要组成部分,孩子们会错过发展社交技能和了解文化传统的机会。故选A。
32.最佳标题题。文章主要讲述了中国传统游戏正逐渐消失,它们是中国文化的重要财富,这一现象令人担忧,最佳标题为“Traditional Games: Disappearing Treasures of Chinese Culture”。故选B。

There are more than 30 lakes named “West Lake” in China. But the West Lake in Hangzhou is the most famous of them all. It lies in Hangzhou, the capital of Zhejiang Province on the southeastern coast. And the city is well known as a paradise in China.
Thousands of years ago, the West Lake was connected to the sea. The Qiantang River, not far away from the West Lake, enters the sea in the eastern part of the area.
A.25%. B.34%. C.75%. D.90%.
