Step 1 Warm-up
1. Greet the students as usual and show the pictures about their school.
2. Free talk:
- What places are they?
- Do you like your school ?
- Do you like your school life?
- Is it busy or interesting?
3. Lead to the new lesson:
Today we will learn How is school going?
Step 2 Lead-in
1.Show picture about their Daily routine of a school day and ask:
A: When do you get up?
B: I get up at ________.
A: When does the first class start?
B: It starts at ________.
A: When does the last class end?
B: It ends at_________.
A: When do you have lunch?
B: We have lunch at ___________.
Look and find out what subjects we have.
What subjects are you good at?
2.Match(匹配)the pictures with the school subjects.
Show pictures about subjects and activities.
Let students say the words quickly.
3.Teach new words and phrases:
favourite, subject, timetable, long jump, be good at.
4.Pair work:
A: What’s your favourite subject?
B: My favourite subject is _____________.

Students make simple sentences with the new words.

VI. Teaching Reflection
Through this lesson, most students can take part in class activities actively. They have a good English foundation, so they can understand the listening material quickly and finish different listening tasks smoothly. The step-by-step listening design helps students get main ideas and detailed information clearly.
During the class, I use pair work and group work to encourage students to communicate. Most students can use the key sentences to talk about their school life. But a few students are still too shy to speak English in class. I will create more relaxing situations and give more encouragement in the later teaching.
In general, this lesson achieves the teaching aims well. Students improve their listening and speaking skills. In the future, I will design more interesting and open tasks to make students more interested in English learning.
