Step 2 Pre⁃reading 1.Ask students to look at the title and pictures of the article and guess what the text might be about. 2.Let students think about the questions: “What do you know about Chinese paper⁃cutting?” “Would you like to try paper⁃cutting? Why or why not?” 3.Teach the new words and phrases in the box. Step 3 While⁃reading 1.Ask students to read the article carefully and silently for the first time and underline the words or sentences they don’t understand. 2.Answer the two questions in the pre⁃reading part.Share their answers with their partners. 3.Work on A (1)Ask students to read the article again and match the paragraphs with the main ideas. (2)Check the answers together and ask students to read out the relevant paragraphs. 4.Work on B (1)Ask students to read the article again and choose the correct answer according to the text. (2)Explain the reasons for the answers.
