Step 1 Leading in
1.Greet the class and show a short video about healthy and unhealthy foods to draw students’ attention.
2.Ask students to discuss the differences between the foods shown in the video and share their own ideas about healthy eating habits.
Step 2 Work on Activity 1
1.Ask students to listen to the conversation carefully and choose the main idea from the given options.
2.Play the recording again if necessary and check the answer,asking students to explain the clues they heard in the recording that led them to the answer.
Step 3 Phonetics in use
1.Explain the pronunciation of /p/,/b/,/t/ and /d/ with examples and play related pronunciation videos for students to watch and practise.
2.Read some words containing these sounds and ask students to repeat,correcting their pronunciation errors.
Step 4 Work on Activity 2
1.Ask students to listen to the conversation again and complete the table comparing the girl’s and boy’s opinions about green salad and hamburger,focusing on their reasons for considering them healthy or not.
