◇教学过程◇
Step 1 Leading in
1.Greet the students and ask them to recall the stories about happiness shared in the previous class.
2.Introduce the book Charlie and the Chocolate Factory briefly and lead to the reading passage.
Step 2 Work on Activity 1
1.Show the picture related to the book review and ask students to observe and answer the questions about what they can see and their initial thoughts on the characters’ happiness.
2.Have students read the book review quickly to check their answers and get a general understanding of the text.
Step 3 Work on Activity 2 and 3
1.Ask students to read the passage carefully again and underline the unfamiliar words and phrases.
2.After reading,guide students to answer questions about Charlie’s family details,such as the location and condition of their house,their daily life activities,and how they felt.
3.Instruct students to choose the best title for the review and explain their reasons.
Step 4 Work on Activity 4
1.Ask students to complete the thinking map with the words and expressions from the passage,summarising the key points of the book review.
2.Check the answers and have some students share their completed thinking maps,explaining the connections between different parts.
Step 5 Think and share
1.Divide students into groups to discuss the questions:Do they agree that “happiness comes from things like money”?What do they think the words of Oscar Wilde in the last paragraph of the passage mean?
2.Each group selects a representative to share their group’s views,and encourage other students to ask questions and have a further discussion.
◇教学反思◇
学生在阅读过程中能够较好地理解文本大意,但对于一些细节信息的把握还不够准确。在词汇学习方面,部分学生对新单词的记忆和运用需要加强练习。在讨论环节,学生积极参与,但在表达观点时,语法错误较多,逻辑不够清晰。后续教学应加强阅读技巧训练和语法指导,同时提供更多相关话题的讨论机会,提升学生的思维能力和语言表达能力。
