构词本质:-al 是最常见的形容词后缀之一,它的核心作用是将名词转化为形容词,表示“与该名词相关的”或“具有该名词性质的”。
拼写规则:绝大多数名词直接加 -al 即可,无需改变原词拼写(如 form → formal 就是直接添加,没有额外变化)。
特殊注意:少数名词在加 -al 时会有拼写变化,例如:
centre → central(中心的,词尾 e 去掉再加 -al)
crisis → critical(关键的,词尾 is 变为 ic 再加 -al)

核心考点
时态一致(主将从现)
当主句是一般将来时(will + 动词原形),时间状语从句必须用一般现在时来表示将来的动作,不能用将来时。
正确:I will call you as soon as I arrive.
错误:I will call you as soon as I will arrive.
延续性 vs 短暂性动词
while 只能接延续性动词(表示动作可以持续一段时间,如 read, work, cook)。
when 可以接短暂性动词(表示动作瞬间完成,如 ring, arrive, leave)或延续性动词。
not...until 结构
表示动作“直到某个时间点才发生”,即动作在从句时间点之前并未发生。
I didn’t go to bed until I finished my homework.我直到完成作业才去睡觉。
