Step 3 Work on Activity 3 1.Ask students to read the passage again carefully and complete the diagram with the words and expressions from the passage. 2.Check the answers together. Step 4 Work on Activity 4 1.Have students read the passage carefully again and underline the unfamiliar words and phrases. 2.After reading，ask students to answer the questions in Activity 4. 3.Use vocabulary cards or PPT to introduce and explain key words and phrases，and have students take notes. Step 5 Work on Think and share 1.Organise students to discuss the questions in pairs：“What fact from the passage do you find the most interesting？Why？” “With modern technology，do you think it is still necessary to keep the karez system？Why or why not？” 2.Invite students to share their opinions，and the teacher makes comments and summaries，emphasising the importance of inheriting and protecting ancient wisdom.
