◇教学过程◇
Step 1 Leading in
1.Greet the class and show pictures of a cashier,a pilot,a tour guide,and a fashion designer.Ask students which jobs they think will exist in 50 years.
2.Write the word “Impossible” on the blackboard,and then cross out “Im” to make “Possible”.Ask students to think about how this relates to jobs of the future.
Step 2 Work on Activities 1 and 2
1.Let students look at the pictures and then answer the questions in Activity 1.
2.Have students read the passage quickly and check their answers.
3.Have students think about what the writer thinks about the jobs of the future and invite some students to share their answers.
Step 3 Work on Activity 3
1.Ask students to read the story again and complete the research report with the words and expressions from the passage.
2.Check the answers and have students explain the reasons behind the job changes based on the report.
Step 4 Work on Activity 4
1.Have students look at the questions in Activity 4 about the online comments.
2.Have students work in pairs to discuss the questions.Then invite some students to share their answers with the class.
Step 5 Work on Think and share
1.Divide students into groups and discuss the questions in Think and share.
2.Guide students to think for question 2 by thinking about the reasons behind the people’s opinions.Then they decide which comment they most agree with.
Step 6 Work on Activity 5
1.Guide students to think about “a job soon to be history” and “a job of the future”.
2.Have students write descriptions of these two jobs with the help of the chart.
3.The teacher walks around the classroom to offer writing guidance.
4.After students finish writing,ask them to check their passages.Remind them to cover all the information in the chart and use the words and expressions from the reading passage.
5.Invite some students to share their passages with the class.Encourage other students to listen carefully and give feedback.
